JACKSONVILLE, Fl. - Patriotism and racism were dragged kicking and screaming into the national spotlight once again, this time stemming from a controversial song that has people in a political uproar. Chanteuse René Marie, a jazz singer, was invited by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's office to sing the national anthem during Tuesday's annual State of the City address. However, after Marie was introduced to the crowd she sang the "Black National Anthem" instead of the standard version...

Machines utilizing "body-scanning" technology are being installed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at 10 of the country's busiest airports with Reagan National in Washington starting today. Once upon a time I sat in my parent's basement with my small but growing collection of heavy metal records and tried to play certain parts of certain records backwards because the media at the time said I could sell my soul doing so. I ruined many albums in an attempt to uncover hidden and satanic messages in the music that were allegedly put there by a process known as "backmasking". Though due to the cheap equipment I was using, I was never really sure what I was hearing, if anything, and yet my curiosity continued throughout the years.
