Fusion 2008

It's that time of the year again...my big charity event, Fusion.  Fusion benefits the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, and aides those young adults with cancer, or are recovering from cancer.

This year we are adding some new elements and there's quite a buzz about town regarding it.  I've had several friends tell me that they've overhead people talking about the event and how excited they are to attend this year.  So this year is definitely NOT one to miss.  We have so many wonderful people such as Stephanie Langston from NEWS 2 hosting again this year, and even celebrity designer Manuel lending a helping hand this year. So come on out!

It is Saturday, March 29th.  You can view the Fusion 2008 myspace site for more details.

FUSION 2007
Category: Parties and Nightlife

It's that time again...time for Fusion...our third annual charity for the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation raising money for young adults with cancer.

If you thought last year was a success, then by all means come out this year because it will be off the hook.  (do I even use that phrase? lol)  Last year we used City Hall, and as a result of our success, we are now using BOTH City Hall and the newly opened Project A art gallery across the walkway (behind Bar Twenty3).

You can purchase tickets in advance at www.nashvillefusion.com.  And we are running a special if you buy online, or from Minnie Pearl directly, the week of Fusion.  Regular tickets are $15 and VIP are $50, otherwise they are $25 and $75 respectively.  And if you wait till the last minute and get them at the door, then the prices will be back to normal...consider yourself warned.

So please everyone, come out, and help us raise money for a great cause, and have yourself a BLAST!  We did last year, and will again this year.

See ya there!

Friends

I have some truly remarkable friends in my life and I have often wondered how I could express to them, and to others, what they mean to me.  This blog is the end result.  This blog still is short of what I owe these people, but atleast the gratitude will be made obvious so they will understand what they mean to me.

Some of these friends I have known for YEARS, and some I have only known in the last year.  Although the measure of friendship isn't necessarily how long you know someone, it is, however, what you do with that relationship.

These friends are (in no order)

John -my brother, through it all

Shaun- 1st met in '94.  More than a shoulder to cry on, even though you've been there for that too.

Rick- my drummer, 13 years and going strong

Jeff- we first toured together in '94, made me realize Canadians weren't ALL bad. LOL.  Thanks for all the support and butt kicking when I needed it.

Brock- Less than a year, but has been there for me so much this year (so, tell me how you're REALLY doing?)

Skye- Mr. Introspective.  All the dinners at La Hacienda and the long talks. And one of the best men behind the mixing boards in all Nashville

Stephanie- I've been a fan of yours longer than you've been a fan of mine, I think (maybe we did have some really good teachers after all?)  Thanks for your patience and understanding, and the long emails/talks.

Brett- since '98...thanks for the dreams and late night outings.

Michael Todd- I've realized over the last couple of years that you may be a bigger U2 fan than I.  You're consistantly consistant...the stage?

And thanks to Rob Wilson and Dan "Mucky- Muck" Muckala for all of the advice, encouragement, and prayers.

This list isn't totally complete, because all of my friends help influence and shape me into who I am.  This list is just noting those who have been there through the toughest times with me and it was the least I could do.  Thanks.

Fusion Charity: A Success!!
Current mood: excited

Several of you came to Fusion on Saturday, March 11th and helped make it a wonderful success.  With your help, we raised $17,000 for the young cancer survivors with the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.  And thanks to Heather Byrd for the compliments (on page 8 of this week's Nashville Rage.)

FUSION FOR A CAUSE

"An extremely well-planned event was carried out at City Hall last Saturday to benefit The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation and The Young Cancer Survivors Retreat..."

Go pick yourself up a copy to read the rest and to see pictures from the event.

What I've been doing with my time.
Current mood: hungry

I have been asked quite a bit lately, "What is consuming most of your time?  We never see you anymore."

My response is "Fusion."  A charity event for the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.  There is a great deal of planning, meetings, follow-ups, getting contracts signed (oh this list could go on and on) that have to be done in order to ensure a successful event of any size.  But I'll spare you the gory details.

If you'd like more information about it, then visit www.nashvillefusion.com . Hopefully, you will be there.  It will be a huge event and it will be loads of fun.
