Gack
MySpace has lost its magic for me.
This once entertaining garbage site is now full of malware. Every ad is dangerous. Bots roam the listings. Morons abound en masse. I have had enough.
So, I will leave this account up but, I am not going to use it anymore.
Its just no fun here anymore.

The System revealed!
So, it is 92.9 percent finished(Yes, I actually calculated that percentage...)
Only thing left to do to the new computer is to get and install a better power supply. The measly 500 Watt jobber i have crammed in there is too unstable to be reliable. well, that and even after I modified it, it is a few SATA power connectors short...
SATA? What the hell is SATA you ask? SATA is the next generation connection for stuff in your computer's gutz. Ever looked in your machine and seen those long, wide ribbon cables attached to your drives? thats not SATA. thats PATA also called IDE or E-IDE. Fancy names for wires huh? (Ok, Ok- SATA Stands for Serial Advanced Technology Attachment. PATA is the retroactive name for those IDE cables, now referred to as Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment...)
Thats a lot of gibberish to say that the shiny skinny red wires transfer data at 3 GB per second, as opposed to the myriad of sluggish speeds the fat ribbons do. Anywho, heres the hardware break down. Next week I'll tell ya how to put it all together. This machine is the result of 4 months worth of intense online research, hours and hours of it.
If you happen to be an Applehole, AMD fan, or or any other flavor of computer geek, please feel free to go back to whatever it is you do. You won't like this list one bit...
Motherboard: Universal ABIT AB9 Pro LGA775- chosen for its extremely high reviews, perfect price (139.99 free shipping) and its future compatibility. This board rocks hands down. Might be last years model, but it actually performs better than most of the new boards.
Processor: Intel e4400 core 2 Duo 2G- chosen for its proven overclockability and its super cheap price. This little hunk of silicon wafer can be adjusted easily to perform like some of its bigger brothers. At 121.00 (free shipping) I dare you to find a better deal. WHAT? Buy an AMD processor!?! No way. Back when AMD was tops, they dumped out lots of damaged goods. They ran HOT (no matter what the fans say, they were 10 degrees Celsius warmer than any Intel out there) Either way, AMD may be cheaper, but they lost the space race to Intel. faster, lower power consumption and stability makes AMD a no go for me. Also I went Intel because AMD bought out the video card manufacturer ATI and turned a once fine product into GARBAGE.
RAM: Corsair XMS DDR2 800MHz Matched dual Channel 2G set. Smart people buy Corsair RAM. Everyone else buys cheap RAM multiple times. This was actually a steal at 113 dollars. Lots of tried and tested bang for the buck. Why not top of the line DDR3 RAM/ Well, frankly its three times more expensive and provides no noticable increase in performance right now. Thank the OS makers, since that seem to really dig that archaic 32 bit garbage Most folks dont realize the reason their computer only recognizes 3 G of RAM is because they have a 32 Bit operating system. If you want to learn more about that, Google it. its way to much to explain here. And yes, I know 64 bit OSs dont have that problem, but then you have shitty drivers to deal with...
Video Card: EVGA 8800GTS 320mb DDR3 Dirct X 10 compatible. I splurged here a bit. This was a 280 dollar graphics card. However, research showed this little gem performs waaaay better than it 256mb bretheran, and only slightly worse than its 640 mb Sibling the GTX. Again, free shipping and the most bang for the buck. downside is the thing is a goddamned brick. Literally. Look it up on Newegg.com and see for yourself. Its a monster.
Drives: Both Disc Drivers are DVD by ASUS. Both are SATA. One is a DVD=ROM, the other is a multiformat burner. Why a DVD ROM? Mainly because the damn thing was cheaper than an PATA DVD-RW+- jobber and functions waaay betters. The hardrives are bot Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 320G in a RAID 0 format. That means serious data back up for those of you that doint know what RAID is. I also have my old 300G IDE Barracuda in the, but only to avoid tranferiing my titanic music collection. It would take nine days to move all those files over...lmao
Case: Raidmax Smilodon. cheap. Pretty. Packed full of glowy blue lights. Tons of space for stuff, and cleverly designed drive bays made this a winner. Oh, and it came wit one 120mm fan and 3 80mm fans, all of which are also loaded with blue LEDs. There is a 500Watt powersupply in it I modded to fit the color scheme too, but it sucks. I will replace it with a 750W SeaSonic next month.
So thats the basics. I left out a ton of bits and piecs, mostly connectors and stuff i used to modify the Power supply. I must mention the 20 dollar Sunbeam Blue Backlit keyboard. Yuh, the keys glow blue...very cool and matches the case.Thats a must have for the night person that has a daywalker wife sleeping with an open door not too far away...lmao Anyways, enough about hardware. I have the weekend off, so I am getting drunk and playing computer games till I pass out.
More Laterz.

ROFLMFAOSHISMP
The world never ceases to amaze me.
A bridge collapses and Wolf Blitzer merely confirms what we all already know- Wolf Blitzer is a fucking idiot. (Wolf- its pronounced Thirty Five West, not Double You Thirty Five)
The Chinese, still smarting from 2002's report about the US Congress, a retractable dome, and a fun little publication called the Onion have done it again! In a scientific medical study, a few researchers found two genes that MAY cause MS. Thats right. HOORAY!!! one step closer to a cure! However, the morons decided that to illustrate this in the news, a still of an OBVIOUSLY animated human x-ray was used. Goddamn cryin' shame they used Homer Simpson's x-ray...
Of course the Chinese have lots of problems this week. Its a bad day to be a Yahoo customer in China. Hell its a bad day to be a Yahoo customer ANYWHERE! Yahoo was kind enough to turn over personal and private data on a journalist to the communist government. Said journalist is doing ten years time as a result. Believe me when I say, you're next. Only Diffrence between D.C. and Bejing right now is D.C. has more white folks that yellow. Reccomendation: Let Yahoo know how you feel, and then delete those spam filled e-mail accounts you have had with them sine the first days of the world wide web.
I was moonlighting as a bouncer every so often. One night an older blonde was hitting on me (Do I look that old now!?!) when I noticed her purse. Now, lets get one thing straight- I am not a manpurse type of guy. I don't wear sweaters, and I never listen to Morrisey if I can help it. However, this wast the coolest damn purse I have ever seen. I actually asked where she got it and she gave me the website. Turns out they make some pretty cool shit out of liscense plates. See it here

Venting your frustrations on new hardware
Yup.
I'm back.
New direction, new town, new gripes.
I have been bored out of my mind. Same shit every day. Work to exhaustion. Attempt to sleep. Feel guilty about not spending any time with the family. Work more. Sleep even less. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.
I have had so little time to myself I started to lose my mind again. I quit school. It was just too much for one person to balance with a full time job and a family to boot. (I will go back, just to a different school and a better program.) Sitting through the same bullshit electronics courses I have already had AND paying insane amounts of money for them!?! Bullshit.
I am NOT making that mistake again.
Now there is a plus side to all this:
Over the last few months I have been stockpiling brand spanking new computer hardware. I am on a budget, so lots of research and comparison went down before the bargain hunting even started. I am sick and tired of sharing a computer with other people. I'm tired of viruses and garbage on my hard drives. I'm tired of spending hours maintaining this aging system so certain people can play myspace and iTunes with minimal problems.
I'm tired of being right in the middle of blowing something up and hearing"...can i use the computer..."
So today I at about 0400 I purchased the final items I needed for the build. As soon ast the arrive its on!
And, since I am sure some of you are having similar issues (not enough time, money, or a shared system) I am going to blog about it here.
Thats right. The research is done. The suppliers are tracked down. So starting next week I will have the complete article done, (with pictures!!!) and I shall post it on here for ya's.
Building stuff has always made me feel better.
Anyone remember the Alien chest burster in high school? Anyone remember the pneumatic semi-automatic potato gun? Any one remember any number of Volkswagen Beetles? frankly, I don't really give a damn if ya do or not. Either way, the memories of those builds are enough for me!

SOON!
I feel the urge to blog again.Need to do a few more days thinking about the whole thing.Trust me, it's time for a change...Well, that and there is some cool assed shit going on nowadays...So to start things off:
Twidget: (twi'jet) Noun, slang- 1) U.S. Navy slang for a person that maintains electronic equipment. 2) In microelectronics, a tool used to adjust potentiometers or other small manually controlled components. 3) short, repetitive twisting motions

What the @$^$?
Why the hell is myspace all limeyed out? I never have mad a Pound Sterling in my life. I find extra "u"s in color and flavor to be pretentious and snooty.
What next? Scone crumbs?

omaha is for assholes
It's been a while. i have been busy.
Working and going to schol full time while trying to take care of an extended family is taking its toll. I cancelled my World of warcraft account. I have no friends. I have been drinking again, more than I care to admit to...
But, alll in all, life is good. my garden is dumping out the first organic edibles of the season, with the radishes, cucumbers, and tomatoes being top producers. i still try to make a little bit of time most days to hang out with our little shithead of a doo-doo dog and play some seriously intense fetch. I have started his frisbee training.
i also realize that I have spent 31 years trying my damndest NOT to be my father, and have somehow become him any way. i can't even come close to the number of hours he spends in the bar, but I might as well bee him. My facial hair has become more of a handlebar muttonchop hybrid than a beard due to the encroaching and inevitable white. once blonde highligts are becoming more perceptably white every day...(Kevin and Joel take note- i STILL have a full head of hair...lol)
I'm up to a pack and a half each day. I feel Omaha sucking my soul out of me. i speak with a pronounced midwestern accent.
I think this godforsaken place may very well kill me with its white-bread "corn" values.
i made my choice however- My extended family needs me so pitifully bad its sad.
However amidst it all, I still havent found what I've been looking for. the lingering feeling something better is elsewhere still nags me.
My garden may not be pretty, but it sure as fuck produces bee=tter than any other in thius drought locked shithole.
I yearn for real cream cheese. Not that bullshit loaded down with xantham gum ang gelatin you get in the grocer's. I yearn for Arrogant Bastard on hot days, and Straub on cool evenings.
I look forward to deer season.
i hate my job.
i think this time around I am actually going to buy a fucking bar and tell the rest of society to shut the fuck up and give me your money in exchange for a few minutes off bliss and a ton of cash.
On that note, after many years of being graced with the presence of two wonderful axolotl pets, Mama passed on, PaPa followed her less than three days later. They were extremely old, but I will miss them none the less.
I haven't even had time to grieve properly after burying them in a strange land.
I truly wish I could have given them both a viking funeral on the pacific ocean, near where they provided me with 5 years of happiness. thankfully, my doo-doo dog, Chuy, has worked his hardest to pick up the slack.
When everything else sucks balls, he always manages to find a tennis ball and remind me why I fought to let him live with us in the first place.

Unsuccesfully coping with the power of kinetic energy.
So, we pulled the monkey-head out of school, grabbed the dog and his survival kit, and loaded up the Green Machine to head on down to Kansas City today. It was a typical cold and wet day, and the road tripping was good. The dog slept. The Kid played NitendoDS and iPod. The wife and I sang along with various CDs. Family Life at its most idyllic.
We arrived, met up with the wife's friends, whom we went to see in the first place and had some damn fine barbecue at a little tiny 1950's Texaco Station converted to the kind of mom and pop joint that has tin Route 66 signs on the walls in between old license plates. I can now honestly say I have been to KC AND eaten BBQ.
Life is good.
We loaded up and headed back on home, North up US 29. The rain continued, the day left us, and I won the road trip game of "Cows" (I did, as usual lose the license plate game however...)
About a two thirds of the way home, a passing tractor-trailer kicked up an 8x4 inch of concrete at tried to embed it in me and the dog via the windscreen.
Thankfully, Japanese Safety Glass technology saved me a quick trip to the hurt locker. That was a big god damned chunk o'crete. At 70 mph, I clearly saw it on its inbound trajectory. It was that big. Mind you it was raining AND dark, and I could still see the damn thing inbound.
So, therefore, I am moving Iowa to the top of my "Most Fucked Roads in the Country" list. Some of you may know of Pennsylvania's notoriously shitty freeways, but they ain't got shit on Hillbilly Capital of the Mid West's fucktacular roadways.
We are all okay, though the sleeping pooch very nearly pissed himself right on my lap, but the windshield is fuct.
