Well, first off, you can catch the live on-air interview in my previous blog.
Secondly, pre-orders for Snow Hill will begin July 1st on www.josephmcgee.net
Snow Hill will be available everywhere books are sold, including Amazon.com, Horror-Mall.com, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Target and elsewhere. I'll also have them on hand at most convention and appearances, or catch me on the road later this year.
And in promotion for Snow Hill Pre-orders taken on www.josephmcgee.net will receive a rare signed rack card of a SNOW HILL CHARACTER limited to four (4) per main character [total of 12] and will be signed by the author, and will come with a certificate of authenticity.
The new web site has just launched, so head on over to www.josephmcgee.net and check it out!
I'm also recruiting help in promoting Snow Hill.
Please place the below the banner on your MySpace page or web site.
If you had noticed on my page, the calendar has been updated to host a few more items, such as:
August 16th, 2008. I'll be at Borders in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts in their Author Showcase from Noon-5PM.
August 22-24, I'll be attending Pi-Con III in West Springfield, Massachusetts and be on a few panels discussing such topics as Character Creation and Tech Tools for Writers.
I hope you can make it to one of those events.
More dates, including Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island and quite possibly the Los Angeles area will be added soon!
Here's the play version of Blog Talk Radio from June 5, 2008. it does go talk in the first part of it for about 3 minutes or so; please be patient with that.
Hosted By: Joseph McGee When: Thursday Jun 05, 2008 at 9:00 PM Where: BLOG TALK RADIO www.blogtalkradio.com/AngelLesa WORCESTER, MA 01604 United States Description: Joseph McGee
Forgot to mention to everyone that the call-in number for the show tonight is 347-945-7025 and the web site address is: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/AngelLesa
I'm here. Doing nothing at all. I went for a walk. I could stand to lose a few pounds, so I went for a brisk walk outside about 8:30a.m. while the sun was shining; the temperature was mild. About 68F. But I don't feel the need to discuss the weather where I call home.
A lot of people see me at events of all sorts, and some may see me strangely, like I'm not the well-dressed writer I should be. You see some in a sports coat, maybe a button down shirt neatly tucked in their blue jeans or brown slacks. That's not so much me.
Today (or tomorrow), I will be doing something that I haven't done in about 5 years. I will have a bit of odd colors in my hair. Aside from my dark-brown, I'll be finishing it off just a bit with Midnight Blue and Not Too Shy Violet. Why? Don't know. Just...want to, I guess. What's the harm right? I mean, it's not like I'll be sporting emerald green or devil red or sunflower yellow. Blue. Violet. Maybe later on I can find a suitable red for the job, something like maroon.
But what I'm trying to get at (and it's not that I'm a secret punk rocker in a band performing at raves every Friday night) is that being you and doing things you want to do is a major plus. Keeping true to who you are. I know some of the younger A-list that may be features on Entertainment Tonight!, and for the most part they're afraid to be who they are in front of the lights and camera, afraid of rejection. But isn't it far worse to reject yourself? I think so. Maybe I'll write my own column someday and rant about whatever comes to mind, like those stupid ass-monkies who took The Dead Zone and The 4400 off the air. Maybe the high price of gasoline, which has ben overdone--but $100+ to fill my truck? To quote Phil Vassar "They Can Kiss My Price of Gas."
So anywho. If you check out my upcoming events here on MySpace, I have, as of right now, a date at Borders in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts (on Rt. 9) on Saturday, August 16th. To discuss my book, Snow Hill and others probably, depending on what time I'm allowed. It's a showcase of local authors. I'm not sure who is attending yet, but perhaps I'll find out soon and make a note of it, or you might find that out at www.bordersstores.com and see what it says there for author events. But I must say, the staff there is extremely friendly and I'd love to come back again and again (if they'd allow it, of course).
So remember: if you see me with a few extra colors in my hair, a bandana wrapped around my head, don't be afriad. ;)
Please add this security company to your friends' list and help it out.It belonged to my father before he past away in April. If you're looking for security for any number of reasons, check it out; if you're looking for a part-time or full-time job, check it out.
Please give a listen to this somewhat new performer who was formerly with Dreamworks (same label as Toby Keith) before they went under. The new single is "Do You Believe Me Now." It's a great song.
Make sure you call up the radio station and request. And as of recently, this new single is the third most added song on the radio in this genre. Here; have a listen:
Thursday, June 5th from 9pm-10pm (EST), I'll be a guest on BLOG TALK RADIO. I'll be discussing my upcoming novel Snow Hill (July 2008) as well as previous titled released and future projects that I continue to work on right now.
Hope you all will tune in or call in and ask your questions.
I always say that real life is far more frightening than fiction. In this case, I'm willing to admit I'm wrong.
SNUFF has something that most horror novels can't seem to find: True in depth frights. It reminded me a bit of the works of Jack Ketchum and Edward Lee with that same raw power waiting to be unleashed when the sport of Blood Porn enters.
This novel is without doubt not for children, and honestly, not for some adults. This is a relentless, anthing goes SNUFF fest, and will truly disturb the mind and soul.
Eric Enck and Adam Hubber had put together, what is being called, one of the most disturbing novels ever set to print. Believe me, it's just about true.
Talking with the publisher today, and he has decided to push back The Reaper until seeing all three parts to it.
I know everyone was looking for a Spring release as promised, but this one is out of my hands, sad to say; however, Snow Hill will be released shortly this summer, as will Winter Frights this winter and Gifts of the Flesh.
I'm working on two novels at the same time: Forever Night, which is about a man who lost hi swife in a car accident and is now living in rural Maine where something inside his new iscolated home is waiting to be awaken.
And The Fallen. I wish not to tell people quite yet what the synopsis will be, but it is in it's editing phase and is almost completed.
Again, sorry about the delay. With luck, we'll see The Reaper soon!
When you stare at the dead, something changes in you. You stare and stare some more like it's some surreal dream or a TV show you're watching. It's real.
I brin gthis up because earlier today, my father of 48 years old passed away; Cause of Death: Unknown. It's likely to be his third stroke that finally took him. I'd like to believe in something after life, but I don't know if I do, or if I ever did at one time.
I write about death and the dying, even the undead. And yet when you see it up close and person, mere inches away from you it's different in a greater way than I thought would be possible. Staring into his open eyes, watching him sprawled there, knowing that he's been gone for a good six hours before anyone found him--it's still surreal.
I'm tell you all this because I will be out of tuned with E-mails and comments for a while until things settle down. It has been almost a month since my Aunt Virginia passed away, and though I wasn't close with here, it still seems like tragedy has come early this year and the bastard isn't going down without a fight.
So while I'm doing all the paperwork and making the proper decisions I need, feel free to send an E-mail and I'll get back to you when I can.
Thank you.
