MY FIRST BLOG!!! Banff, MeMe’s....

Just got back from the Banff Center inaugural Indie Program: it was awesome times a million. Gigi, Ohbijoux and the Adam Brown workin' it with Howard Billerman and this insanely dope young engineer, Shawn, from Calgary who lives in LA... Theresa running things with aplomb, Barry Shiffman holding it down... met this virtuoso cymbalom player from Holland who saw my band play last year in Krakow, the most gentlemanly composer/super genius John Berger, this conductor Hank who rules the galaxy... Geoff and Livia... many others, wow what a place.

And I won a MIMI, a Montreal Indie music award for song of the year, (These Are) The Good Old Days, which made my mom and dad proud... I love Quebec, I love Montreal, always supportive... Big ups to Antal Fekete, from Budapest, who inpsired the melody with his violin riffs, Subtitle for his little shpiel, Katie Moore for her pipes of steel, Phil Bova for the beats and mix and editing, Fred Wesley, who played the dopest solos when I recorded him in South Carolina, and Derrick Carter who made a remix that nobody has heard yet that sounds way better than the song it's based on.
