Today (Mantra)
Current mood: content
Category: Writing and Poetry

Today, I will thank God for this morning
I will take each moment as they come
and gain comfort in knowing
that God is ALWAYS by my side

Today, I will notice
all the miracles around me
I will smile more, I will love more
and I will embrace each day with hope

Today, I will reflect upon
all the positive events in my life
and I will delight in the joy
of those special times

Today, the grass will be a bit greener
and the skies...bluer
the rain will be crisper
and my breaths will be deeper

Today, I will be more patient
and I will allow the light of peace
to fill my heart with love
and allow that love to strengthen me

Today, I will let go and let God
because I know that God is my Rock
and I will lean on Him when fear sets in
Today, I thank God to be alive.

What is Black, Yellow, Red or White?
Category: Writing and Poetry

What is black, yellow, red or white?
Through a child's eyes, there is no distinction.

If only we all could see
through the eyes of a child,
what brilliance, what hope,
what love we could find.

If we saw such clarity
through the eyes of a child,
perhaps peace and fulfillment,
would come to arrive.

If we viewed our world
through the eyes of a child,
there would be no wars,
no sorrow, nor strife.

If we stopped just a moment,
and thought back of a time,
as a child, we felt immortal,
curious, but with no divide.
For mere pages of history,
has our childhood become,
as we've grown with society,
to accept still what's wrong.

But through the eyes of a child,
If we try very hard,
we reclaim hope and peace,
and shed light from the dark.

For through the eyes of a child,
all that was can redefine
the hope of humanity,
and the redeemer of time.

Her Utopia in the Last Farewell
Current mood: drained
Category: Writing and Poetry

'Tis said

to bid farewell

is sometimes

but sweet sorrow

But to bid farewell forever

is

the utopia of tomorrow

For to walk

in the land of shadows

and the

sullen valley of death

is the passage

to infinity

and the life

that has

come to pass.

This spirit seeker

cries

and yearns

for the last farewell

and in the sorrow

of daylight's passing

she walks without

a care

Knowing that

to bid Farwell

is her utopia of tomorrow.

Giving Up...
Current mood: blank
Category: Writing and Poetry

I feel
like I've been slapped
into
a frozen state of emptiness
like the world stopped revolving
and time has come
to a screeching halt
For the longest moment
in my life
I felt
like
nothing moved
nothing breathed
just a slow-motion
picture show
frame by frame
slides
from my life
No other sound or smell
just the ringing
of the words
that
injured
my soul
What is it
that brings us
to our knees
and
makes us
wonder
what life
is really all about
and why
bad things
happen
to good people?
