Fizzle My Chisel
Category: Life
Right!
It begins with the operative word being fizzle as in disaster, fiasco, or snafu. What is? This election has me scratching my head and if I had balls I would be scratching them as well. First off, why does it cost so much damn money to run for president? Shouldn't that money be donated to bigger and better causes than a bunch of politicians whoring themselves out for the best price. Is the policy the more they spend the better the sale? Meanwhile who's running Alaska while it's governor is selling her self to the greater American people.
It just seems as though less money should be spent on elections. If we the people of America can donate great funds of money to help elect a president and if we can pull together as a nation to make a democratic decision which effects the course of our lives, don't you think we could pull together to end poverty, nation wide alternative forms of energy, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and providing a substantial economy which would offer people jobs?
*side note: The current campaign has clocked in 20 million dollars is the last two days*
I feel as though the sculpture of our nations economy is the great dichotomy between theory and practice.
We are going to chisel into a fizzle!

Gators and Gutters
There is an urban legend about alligators living in the sewers of the New York City public waste system. Whether there is truth to this or not, who knows, but what I do know, it always makes me think twice before I sit my ass on toilet seat.
What does this have to do with anything, well nothing really, but I always found it interesting that someone would believe such shit. Then again, the psyche is an amazing thing and once it's been told something it never forgets.
Music influences the psyche in similar ways, lyrics have this effect on people. This is why when I listen to music I pay special attention to the lyrics but sometimes it's not necessary because sub-consciously they will penetrate your mind, body, and soul anyway.
DON'T BE DRONES, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR PUTTING IN YOUR BRAINS!

In 24 Hours I’ll be a Popsicle!
Why? Because the Arctic cold front has moved into Vermont and I'm freezing my bejesus off. What is a bejesus? It's any piece of anatomy on your body that is sensitive to the cold! Not great outdoor gigging weather, I guarantee you that, this is fingers freezing to frets kind of weather. However, a only a week ago we had summer. I played an outside gig and the sun was burning down on us. The music sounded tight and I only cracked twice... (the sun was in my eyes, honestly) The beer was cold and the food was made with tofu... it wasn't too yucky tasting and the beer washed it down pretty good.
I hope to book some more gigs soon and I will be recording some more music and put it up here.
StayTuned... Meg

On & On Benefit
Thanks for tuning in folkes...
Yesterday, on August 4th 2007 Fallen With Grace along with several other amazing bands/musicians played at a "festival" type benefit. All the money raised went towards the recovery of a heart transplant patient. It's a beautiful thing when communities join together to support others within their community; even if it's a complete stranger. I was so very happy to be apart of this benefit, and it was really fun. There where so many amazing local musicians playing and they all where there to unite, support, and donate there time and energy to this benefit. I feel grateful for being in a world with so many beautiful people. I understand that there is a recording and a video of this event. I hope to post a clip of my band playing... hopefully this week.
Stay tuned....

Last Night's Gig!
So Last night FallenWithGrace played our first official gig. We set up a video camera to capture the moment, but we forgot to hit record. I was hoping to stick some video's up this morning, but I guess we will just do it again next weekend at the other gig we will be playing. We had a great time , and the crowd loved us. People really dug the wide range of music that we cover and said that it was really enjoyable. I think maybe that's what may set us apart from other bands.. we are inspired by all genres and like to cover songs within those. Even the music I write doesn't stick to any one specific genre it's kind of a medley of many. It was fun, and I can't wait to do it again next week!
Stay tuned...

The meaning of Fallen with Grace
Current mood: chipper
Category: Life
Finally we have come to a conclusion with the whole branding thing.. we have a name. I am so excited that we finally have an identity of our own. So I keep getting feedback about it's meaning so let me enlighten all of you adoring fans. I am what you may call a Klutz, not that I believe in streotyping or anything. But I figure that if I am going to fall all the time that I may as well do it with grace, and so a name is born.
We are hoping to begin gigging around the middle of May we are working on our press kit and demo. Hopefully within the next few weeks we will have some gigs in place, and posted on our website: fallenwithgrace.com
Thank you for tuning in and please come back for more updates coming soon!!!

New Developments
There has been tons of shit going on in my musical life, you know the split personality that I am. I am forming a band with our first practice being on Sunday. I am so excited about this project because it's mine and mine alone. It's my chance to explore and create in the world of music. I am still searching for a band name but I was mulling around the idea of Meggan-Tori and The Mid-life Project. Any Ideas? Feedback?
I played at an open mic last night with Marc at the Clear River Tavern in Pittsfield VT. We kicked ass and were invited to come back next week, actually we were begged to come back...so I guess that's a really good sign. I performed three originals which as most of you know is tricky. What I mean to say is when it's your own shit it's personal so it's harder to take negative feedback, but fortunatly the short skirt and fuzzy boots that I wore deterred people from any mistakes that I made.
I am really loving getting back into the music scene. Next week I am going to hit an open mic at Salt Hill in Lebanon and then Thursday night at the Clear River Tavern again. Hopefully once I throw my demo out there I will be able to post other venues that my band will be playing.
Stay tuned...

Oblivious
I've been playing around with some different rhythms on my guitar and I was thinking that maybe I will write a reggae song. I like the rhythm and it's so damn easy to do. Can I being a red head with freckles and absolutley no ties to island culture pull it off? Could it be termed a contradiction or not politically correct? Well I guess you wll have to wait and see if I pull it off.
Feeling inspired!
