Ok, so I finally found some time to write a BLOG ! Yay!!! It's just that I have been getting so many of you youngins and olderin's  have been asking me for advice and the sorts. Well, I decided to do a brief overview of what I think would be a good place to start out as you research your interest…

Here is one of the first things you have to realize about modeling…

Just because you are pretty doesn't mean you will make a good model,

Just because you are a model, it doesn't make you pretty.

Ok, so moving forward, there are tons of ways to that you can label yourself as a model nowadays…modeling used to extremely out of reach for most due to their physical make-up and such. Now, ANYONE can be a model. The avenue for modeling careers has blown up with the birth of the Internet. Most of them…glamour and nudes, but still it's a type of modeling. For those of you who have a more traditional sense of acquiring a lucrative modeling career, you have to accept what you have to offer in the physical aspect for a modeling agency or a client who needs a model. Click here to read all about the different types of modeling.

Here are my views,advice,blaaabs regarding the process of modeling for all of you who want to pursue this new found interest..

1. Do not go to a modeling school. They are too expensive and they don't teach you a damned thing.
2. Get some photographs taken of you first by a friend or family member.
3. Use these photographs and see if any photographers would do a "test" shoot with you. Since you are a beginner, it may be easier to seek beginning photographers as they are more willing to build their experience and portfolio. These photographers are more likely to do a "TFP" shoot with you.

 Here are two of the best photographers that I have worked with and I totally recommend you hire them for a shoot! Check out their work & I know you will agree! Tell them Sophea referred you and you may get an even better deal !

TFP means "time for print" where no one gets paid to do a shoot. If EVERYONE is lucky, then the shoot will produce good images that is worthy of putting into a portfolio. I usually ask around for references or if they are a friend of a (trusted) friend, etc. Sometimes I will resort to the local craigslist, or myspace but you must be VERY careful!Never trust someone you have never met, especially on the internet. Always use an escort, always check out their references, etc. Modeling is NOT worth you losing your life, kids!

4. If you do score someone who will shoot you for free (or not), plan the shoot carefully. Plan to bring an escort. Think about themes, backgrounds, clothing, accessories, poses and most importantly emotions! Hire a make-up artist and stylist if you did not find one who would do TFP. TRUST ME! I've had plenty of failed shoots where I was too nervous or whatever the case was it ruined a lot of images that could have been great.
5. A few days before the shoot: whiten those yellah teef of yours JJ! with some whitening strips or somethin'! JK! Tone up your body, tan if you have to…I recommend Mystic Tan at any salon the day before a shoot ( takes 5 minutes and in 1-4 hours, you are tanned!). I personally do not sit in a tanning bed because I am totally chicken
6. The day before, maybe try on the outfit, practice some poses I the mirror, facial expressions, etc. I know it sounds VERY funny and don't EVER let anyone catch you, because you will never live it down! This really helps you get in the flow of  posing and seeing what works best for you as a model. Also get a lot of rest, because modeling isn't lifting 50 lbs of metal, but it isn't as easy as it looks…
7. AND finally, the day of the shoot…get your escort, be prepared and just relax. Let the makeup artist & stylist and posers (if you hired any of these) do their jobs. Let the photographer direct you and don't be afraid to try out all the poses you think would look good. Just from experience, the most painful positions and poses yield the best images ever!!!!

And after all that hard work, you deserve a big piece of chocolate cake…**YUUUM** Don't forget to get me a piece too please...us models gotta stick togetha!

How did you start modeling?

It was accidental. Youuuuu know how since I am this reeeally tall (by Asian standards) asian girl, I sorta stuck out and has been told for years that I should model. But I was really awkward and lanky and totally unsure of myself (still true to this day!Haha). I never pursued it until I was offered to do a calendar a few years ago and I took the job. That experience was not spectacular, but it really helped me pursue more creative and fashion based shoots. Not so much the bikini and lingerie thing…

Are you an import model?

No, I am not an import model. I really enjoy modeling and I try to choose assignments and photo-shoots that represent who I am. I REALLY like high fashion with a mix of glamour and even some "urban" influences. I have done some product shots that may be considered for the import scene, but the import circuit is not necessarily my goal. I am an Asian woman, so you know the offers for the import scene are constantly flowin'!I know a lot of beautiful women who are Import models, though *RAWR*. Haha..kidding…

Do you model nude or implied and if you do, can I see them!?!

No, crackhead! Go spend some time with Palmela Handerson and leave me be!!! Hah..no, I do not model nude or implied. I would consider implied for high fashion shoots or hi end artistic shoots that really pays a lot! Haha. But I typically do not do nudes..just my personal preference.

Can you give me some advice on modeling and how I can be like you?

Haha…no one can be like any one as a model. Unless you are twins, it would be extremely hard to achieve. Find your look and market it in the way you want to market yourself.

How do you handle feedback, haters, fans?

SHOOT WITH ME!

Hey guys! Lotsa stuff has been going on with me. Some good, some suck..but BLAH that's life right!?! Ok, so I decided against NYC because I had no choice. I was hoping to accept a DOPE internship in Manhattan, but the only catch was that it was unpaid !

I don't come from money, I don't have rich parents and I don't use men for money, soOoOoo my only means was my life savings...which was well, insufficient to say the least . Yeah, it sucks to be broke. I begged for money and even did a fundraiser...and it still wasn't enough to go to NYC! But instead of crying, I have plans to BLOW UP with my many talents .

Ok, I just realized that my talents all have to do with being poor and a starving artist.Ok, so I have decided to involve myself in photography and fashion and making people happy  . Here is what I realized...

I have been getting so many inquiries from you guys about the makeup and styling and of course, the images produced on my page. Yes, they are awesome and no, it will not cost you an arm and a leg to book this type of shoot! I have to be honest with you...I take a huge part in creating and styling my photoshoots...this includes choosing props, set and location of shoots. From the fashion to makeup and hair and even posing you the right way.

I also do post-production, this means I am able to retouch your photos (you know, what they do in Maxim and Playboy), and even super-imposing. So since I loved doing it for myself and my shoots, I decided to work together with my photographer and create awesome images for other people! We have already started doing shoots and the results are unbelievable! The clients are so happy and we have been getting great referrals.

I really encourage you guys to BOOK A SHOOT and stop procrastinating. I believe that things are going so good, that our worth will be going up soon and it would be better to get a shoot while we are affordable( I know how it feels to be broke, but really want something).

 The shoots are detailed and personalized to each person. Everyone is different, so we work with you to get exactly what you want. You don't have to be a model or a celebrity, if you want amazing pictures of yourself, you have to act now. You can be a model, an actor, a singer, dancer, bride, mom, dad, husband, wife, executive, student, young, old..whatever. Great photos are important to marketing and sales, but I think the most important reason is because photos are timeless and that's why it is important to capture a part of you at some point in your life.

I have discovered that some people who you thought were your friends really aren't.

With the exception of my first boyfriend in my adolescent years, I can confidently say that I have never lied,cheated,stole from anybody in my 25 years of life. And as far as the infamous "I never talk behind my friend's back", I am known to speak my mind, so if I actually had a problem with someone, you better believe they already knew it.

Unfortunately, I think the task of betrayal have been bestowed upon me by those who I thought were my friends. It's funny because the same girls who claim they don't talk sh*t behind people's backs..talk maaad shit about their own friends to you. I guess people who are soooo adamant about their theory of "not talking sh*t behind people's backs" are speaking due to their guilty conscious.

Funny huh? I guess I should've known that I am NOT excluded in their drama. I've always done such a good job in staying away from senseless drama with immature men and women, I can't understand why they try so hard to include me in their drama...BLAH...

And as far as enemies go, I never knew I had any until my friends started telling me about crazy rumors that they heard. It's funny because I never had any enemies or rumors until I started maturing into a woman. Until I started dressing with confidence, speaking with confidence and taking on roles that required some confidence. I guess they felt like I am trying to prove something, when in reality I am just trying to live my life too the fullest,pushing myself to the limit of my own capabilities and taking risks to achieve my goals...and never hurting anyone in the process. I never thought people would take offense to that.

I know that false rumors and insults do hurt, so I always refrain from doing that to those who don't deserve it. These things hurt a lot...even from strangers..but I willingly take the pain and convert it into a postive source of inspiration. The more pain and criticism I can endure, the more invincible I become. But I have to admit, it is much harder when it comes from people you trust and those you thought were your friends.

Yeah, I know these thoughts were long...but I guess it was time for me to experience something new: the betrayal of friendship.

MODEL

This is my view on modeling...please don't get butt-hurt...it's not that serious.

ANYONE can model as long as you are not camera shy and you can pose. You can be fat,skinny,tall,short,cute,not cute...whatever. There is a market for everybody...this is because everyone has a different look and we all need representation. Whether it is fashion, lifestyle or art...I'm sure everyone can find a market for themselves.

I am ranting like a lunatic because I hate being seen as someone who probably looks in the mirror all the time because I am enamoured by my reflection. Well to be honest with you, sometimes I am content with what I see (thanks to make-up and hair :), but most of the times..I wished there were things that I can change. I know better than anyone what it feels like to be "unattractive". I went through years of being teased and taunted..but luckily with divine intervention...and things started changing. Luckily for me, I always stayed humble because I know that physical beauty is so fleeting...C'mon after years of being that ugly awkward kid, you never take things for granted. And no, I am not interested in avenging the whole world and taking off all of my clothes to get back at you guys. HAHAHA...you pervs...

So, to make things short these are my beliefs in regards to physical beauty:

You may be attractive on the outside, but if you suck as a person...I guarantee you that you will not get far with people, your goals and your personal life (no one hangs around an asshole for long).  And if you are unfortunate to be around me and still behave ignorantly, you can be sure that I will let you know exactly what I think...and not because this is life according to me, but because you need to be saved...from yourself...*super-hero music plays and sophea does a superman-stance*...
