Whitby memorial for Sophie Lancaster
----------------- Bulletin Message ----------------- From: gothtart Date: Sep 22, 2007 5:29 AM
Many of you will have heard about the tragic death of Sophie Lancaster, beaten to death for being different, no need to go into the details here, it's time to look forward and do something positive.
If you are heading to the Whitby Goth Weekend this October please take time out to visit the info stall in the Spa foyer where small ribbon roses will be sold to be worn in her memory, and donations accepted to help pay for a memorial bench and plaque to be installed. This bench is going to be placed near the Royal Hotel, close to the whalebones for those of you that know the town, looking out to sea.
If you cannot get to Whitby this October and still wish to donate then you can, or maybe you could convince your local club to hold a small collection. 100% of any money raised will be going to the bench fund, since the roses were paid for by a collection last month at InsanitoriuM. Please contact Martin Oldgoth if you have any questions:
This bench will cost in the region of £1600, but we hope to raise much more than that, and any funds left over will be used in reforestation schemes in the UK to plant trees in her memory.
Please repost this, directing people to Martin Oldgoth if they need to know more.
Thanks

New Dark Age III is here
We are pleased to announce that a track from Grave New World, First Blood, is the opening song on the New Dark Age III compilation cd. This terrific double cd from Strobelight Records features songs from forty artists in the current Goth/Deathrock scene. Amongst the bands included are luminaries Faith and The Muse, Australia's Ikon, and newer artists such as Tragic Black, No Tears and Deathcamp Project. This is a must-have snapshot for anyone interested in what is happening in the scene today. New Dark Age III, along with our very own Grave New World, can be obtained direct from the Strobelight mail-order shop: http://www.strobelight-records.com/s_rec/webshop/index_d.html
