Vote Republican or Death..
Current mood: amused

Seattle - Saturday, October 21, 2006 A Personal Update and Some Useful Info About the Republicans
Surgical recovery is going well, you can check the actual gory details up on my website, as I have been keeping track of it myself. http://home.comcast.net/~squeeze002/cellulitis/index.html

A reminder for you during the next couple of weeks. You will be seeing lots of nasty advertisements about the Democrats running for office. Of course there are some things that the advertisements pointing out all the terrible things about Democrats are going to be talking about. So let's look at the list to remember when you are sitting down filling out your ballot you received in the mail, or standing at the voting booth.
-
9/11 - Happened on George W. Bush's watch. His administration was warned many times before, had all the information about Usama Bin Laden well before the attack in New York and on the Pentagon.
-
Katrina - Again, the Bush Administration was fully aware that the hurricane was coming, that it was going to be a big one, and still the failure of the Bush administration to protect and serve the people of his own country were the last priority.
-
Trade Deficit - is now 4 TRILLION dollars more than it was 5 years ago. All that deficit is beginning to make countries think of other places to put their money and will cause more damage to the strength of the US Dollar than can be imagined. There's only so much you can borrow on empty promises.
-
Federal Deficit - Well, okay, it's only the 7th LARGEST Deficit ever on record, for Bush that's a good thing. Although ever since he got into office the first thing that he did was turn a budget with a Surplus into a budget that was in deep deficit. Course none of this is costing Bush anything.
-
Illegal Domestic Wiretapping - Yup, the stuff of cloak and dagger to trap terrorists, although the sources so far have indicated that all the wiretapping has resulted in no terrorists being trapped. And it's most likely being used by the Bush administration to track those that disagree with the Bush Doctrine of Stupidity.
-
King George Starts Rounding Up the Evil Doers - With the help of Congress King Bush can now name anyone as an enemy combatant, lock them up with no rights whatsoever, charge them with evidence that the accused cannot even see, and do this to the point of putting them to death. And this isn't just foreigners, it is anyone that Bush or one of his minion groups, U.S. Citizen or not.
So vote your conscience this election, and remember just what good that the Bush Administration has done for you during the last nearly 6 years in office. If you have experienced some of the joys of the Bush Administration, and the get the profit at all costs kind of business dealings you'll understand a bit more. What could some of those things be?
-
Schools closing across the country - Why? Money problems, problems paying for facilities, paying for the required testing by the Every Child Left Behind plan, and problems paying for fuel for buses.
-
Millions of Americans without any type of medical insurance coverage at all (I'm one of those, it was lost when Xerox laid me off in 2002 so they could look profitable for the last quarter of 2002, course I wasn't alone, they laid off 10% of their entire workforce that go round).
-
Companies cutting back on full-time employees and hiring temp or part-time to save them money from providing any type of benefits.
-
Companies filing bankruptcy on their retirement plans for employees, while handing out multi-million dollar retirement packages to the big bosses when they leave the company. Take Mike McGavick in Washington State, they laid off 1700 employees so he could take a 28 MILLION dollar package when he left to run for Senate. Kinda strange really, if you take 1700 employees making maybe $14,000 per year, you come up with 23.8 MILLION dollars. But he made that "tough" decision to make the company a success, yeah, uh huh.
-
The crime rates are rising across the country. Of course, the more people that are unemployed and desperate will do what they need to to survive, and that includes crime.
-
For the first time in my life I've seen McDonald's actually close a store. I've seen businesses that have been running for years disappearing.
-
Watching gas prices rise and mysteriously fall for Election time. NO, Bush doesn't control the gas prices, but those that want him in office do and what better gift is to drop the price of oil so the Republicans look like they are doing their job. Pity, the gas prices will go shooting back up shortly after the election for .
-
Watching the BIG rise in the Stock Market. That shouldn't be much of a surprise either, the big money boys are moving money around, but that isn't the be all and end all of the economy, it's only a part of the economy. It will start to go down after the election, especially if the democrats win control of the House or Senate.

And not to worry, Bush, his crooked buddies and the oil companies are doing just fine. Soon you will be paying $3.00+ per gallon at the gas pump and above. But that's okay, because BushCo has done it's job by ensuring that the oil companies have more money to do what they want, and buy any politician that is available.

The Republican Lies for Election Time..
Current mood: calm
The Republican Lies for Election Time..

Seattle - Monday, September 26, 2006 A Personal Update and Some Useful Info About the Republicans
Surgical recovery is going well, you can check the actual gory details up on my website, as I have been keeping track of it myself. http://home.comcast.net/~squeeze002/cellulitis/index.html Of course it will take me a while to recover from the cost, $24,000+ for the hospital, $3,500+ for the surgeons, $98 per clinic visit to the hospital, $20 per liter of dakin's solution, $400+ for wound care supplies. So it will take some time. But the cost isn't nearly as awful as it could have been, I mean really, if I had died my family would have needed to figure out what to do with all the fun things I have collected over the years. But I'm still alive, and going to collect even more so they will have some fun when I'm gone. Who knows, maybe I'll finally pick up that George W Bush punching bag clown, it would be a nice stress reducer.

Now on to the rest. The first rule to remember from now until election day is that anything, and I mean ANYTHING that a Republican says they will do that even sounds the least bit reasonable, reasoned, normal, democratic, intelligent will be LIE. They are only parroting the reasoned responses to make the less intelligent of the species feel like they are making a good choice by voting for them.
Now, if you believe that Torture is something that the United States should be doing, Vote Republican. If you believe that the United States should attack any country that has any oil, or anything that some rich Republican might want to steal, at the whims of the King George, then Vote Republican. If you believe the United States should sell it's entire military structure, seaports, airports, and most of the transportation systems to the Arabs, then Vote Republican. If you believe that minimum wage should be $2.30 per hour and work weeks should be no less than 60 hours a week, then Vote Republican. If you believe that a military draft to support all the wars that have been "suddenly thrust upon us" then Vote Republican. If you believe that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are "just goddamn pieces of paper" then, Vote Republican.
The choice is yours really. Now, I know there have been some democrats in office lately that have been doing NOTHING but parroting the Republican stick. But as with Lieberman, the Suckup to King George found out by losing his primary race in his State. It's time for the Democrats to act like Democrats and do the work they have been voted into office to do and are being paid so well for.
I have already made my choices for the election choices for November, so there isn't much that some stupid ass Republican will be able to do to change my mind. I believe wholeheartedly it's time for the Congress to change hands, the investigations to begin in full force, and the indictments to be handed to the guilty parties, up to and including the President and Vice President for crimes against the United States.

The next month will be a big turn for the United States, as I will not be surprised if King George announces that the United States Military is conducting military action in Iran to destroy Iran's ability to make nuclear weapons and all of that. As you see, King George doesn't want peace for the Middle East, he doesn't want democracy, he just wants to leave a pile of shit for everyone else to clean up as he skates away Scott Free as he has all of his life. King George doesn't give a damn how many humans he kills, has killed or is responsible for letting die because of his actions or inactions, he's insulated because of his friends and money. He's not cared from day one, and finally, finally, Americans are seeing the truth about this King George. He is no better than the King George that the United States despised enough to Declare Independence of the United States of America. Maybe, we may have to repeat that process again and begin the process of rebuilding the country from all the damage that has been done by King George and his minions.
OH, just so you know, the week after the election, gas prices will sudden begin to rise, due to some that they will come up with. Now, King George doesn't have the ability to make gas prices rise and fall, however his buddies do, and they will do everything they can to keep the evil in charge. Just like Usama Bin Laden did when he released a tape that shot King Georgie's ratings up before the 2004 election. Usama knew that King George was going to be the best thing that ever happened to terrorism and violence, he's the poster child, the one they use as the reason to sign up. And of course King George will never get Usama, he's safe, after all, Usama is George's best friend when it comes to giving him the title, "War President", pity that his pea brain didn't understand that the war should be on something that you can defeat, instead of your own people.

Personal Update and Lord Bush Lies Exposed..
Current mood: mellow
Personal Update and Lord Bush Lies Exposed..

Seattle - Saturday, September 9, 2006 A Personal Update and Something that has a bit of Useful Truth
Well, first an update on my surgical recovery. Since that is more important to my friends than all the political stuff. According to the Doctor so far my surgical would is healing very very well ( http://home.comcast.net/~squeeze002/cellulitis/index.html ). The doctor, nurses and such have been surprised that I've been taking care of this pretty much by myself. I've had some great help from my neighbor, Corrine, friend Andy and Ed, and the people I work with. They have been helpful, understanding and supportive through this time of my life. The Foley was a bit clogged on Friday night and in the course of trying to take some corrective measures it came out. I'm glad that it did, however, it has been a new adventure in humility when it comes to the complications. Thank goodness for old people things like incontinence pads and such, they have been quite helpful for sure. I'm sure that all of this will come out fine, as long as I continue to follow the doctor's instructions, and behave myself with the food, insulin, and the general important stuff of taking care of myself. I've learned a bit more about myself through this too, and it's a good thing. One thing, although my friends resisted, I thought it was important to send them a card and such to thank them for their help through all of this. Saying thank you is not a bad thing, especially when someone swerves off their normal path of life to assist.
Now onto something that I found very interesting, filled with some very good comments, and a must read for everyone viewing the oncoming onslaught of lies that are hitting and will be hitting the airwaves and other forms of advertising regarding the most important task that any American has to do, Vote.
This speech was given by John Kerry, and although he isn't running for President, he sets a tone that should be the way the Democrats should approach the lies and deceitful ways of the Republicans and even some Democrats have been operating under. Take the time to read it, as it does indicate that there just may be hope for this country. There's been a lot of damage done to this country, and the work that needs to be done will be long and hard, but these times should not be forgotten at any time in the future. The damage done to this country, it's citizens, it's soul by the Republican Neo-Conservatives that believe only in filling their own pockets with money, damned be the consequences to any of those that cannot afford to affect their futures. It's a bit of a long read, but well worth the time.
Real Security for All Americans As prepared for delivery for John Kerry September 9, 2006 Faneuil Hall, Boston
The war on terror that was brought home to the Casey family on a sunny autumn morning that suddenly turned into midnight five years ago, also brought home for all of humanity the stark reality that we are in a fateful contest between forces of evil and hate and the defenders of progress and hope.
The outcome will determine whether our children live in freedom or fear. This is a clash between humanity's best ideals and the darkness of superstition and oppression. And this is not a clash of faiths: the true Islam is a faith to live by, not a call to terrorize and kill.
In this war, the war against terrorism, there is no substitute for victory. I don't know a single American who needs a politician to remind them that we have to win this fight.
On Monday, we will commemorate our largest loss of civilian life on a single day in American history. As we remember the horror, the unforgettable shock, and the pride in those who rushed to the rescue, it is our duty to take account as a nation of where we have come since that terrible moment and where we must go if we are to keep America safe in these perilous times.
Since the beginning, at critical moments in our nation's history, Americans have gathered here at Faneuil Hall to find a better way forward. This is where Americans first agreed on our nation's promise and where they have gathered ever since to help our country keep it.
That is why you and I have convened here four times so far this year -- to chart a new course, for a nation that has been misled on global climate change, misled on health care, misled on fundamental constitutional values, and misled into a war that was based on a lie, a war that can and must be brought to a close.
Donald Rumsfeld -- the man who should have been fired as Secretary of Defense long ago -- Donald Rumsfeld recently gave a low and ugly speech in which he smeared those who dissent from a catastrophic policy, and then spoke of "moral confusion."
Well, there certainly is a lot of moral confusion around these days.
It is immoral for old men to send young Americans to fight and die in a conflict without a strategy that can work -- on a mission that has not weakened terrorism but worsened it.
It is immoral to lie about progress in that war to get through a news cycle or an election.
It is immoral to treat 9/11 as a political pawn -- and to continue to excuse the invasion of Iraq by exploiting the 3,000 mothers and fathers, sons and daughters who were lost that day. They were attacked and killed not by Saddam Hussein but by Osama bin Laden.
And it is deeply immoral to compare a majority of Americans who oppose a failing policy and seek a winning one to appeasers of Fascism and Naziism.
The leaders of this administration have shown in recent days that they will say anything, do anything, twist any truth, and endanger our nation's character as one America in a desperate ploy to survive a mid term election.
But Americans now see through this charade. They know the truth. We have a Katrina foreign policy -- a succession of blunders and failures that have betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it.
Every time the administration is down in the polls, every time their political opponents at home appear to gain, they trot out of the fear card, instead of reinforcing in Americans "there is nothing to fear but fear itself," they have nothing to offer but fear itself.
The President wants Americans to believe only one party wants to fight terror. That's a cynical game to try to win an election. I believe we need a game plan to capture and kill Osama Bin Laden, not capture a few Congressional seats.
I believe we need national leadership capable of raising hopes and inspiring trust, not raising fears and demanding blind faith. We need to marshal all our resources -- military, diplomatic, economic, and moral -- and first and foremost always tell the truth to the American people.
That is why on the eve of this midterm election, we Democrats have a unique responsibility to carry our cause into every corner of the nation -- not just to oppose what has failed but to propose a new direction that can restore a bipartisan foreign policy and that can defeat jihadist terrorism once and for all.
In order to change course, we must level with the American people about the magnitude of the challenge: we must face reality so we can change it.
This starts by leveling with the American people about Iraq's true position in the overall fight against jihadism. The President pretends Iraq is the central front on the war on terror. It is not now, and never has been. The truth is, his disastrous decisions have made Iraq a fuel depot for terror -- fanning the flames of conflict around the world.
There is simply no way to overstate how Iraq has subverted our efforts to free the world from global terror. It has overstretched our military. It has served as an essential recruitment tool for terrorists. It has divided and pushed away our traditional allies. It has diverted critical billions of dollars from the real front lines against terrorism and from homeland security. It has unleashed dangerous, pent-up forces of radical religious extremism. It has weakened moderate leaders in the Middle East. It has strengthened and played into Iran's hand. It has diminished our moral authority in the world.
The demagogic drumbeat about fighting terrorists over there instead of here -- even though they weren't in Iraq until we went in, and it's now a civil war we're fighting -- has compromised America's real interests and made us less safe than we ought to be five years after 9/11. The true measure of that is the stark fact that worldwide terrorist attacks are at an all-time high and there are now more terrorists in the world who want to kill Americans than there were at the time of 9/11.
After all the tough talk of "Wanted Dead or Alive," after the Administration bragged and boasted -- they meekly backed off in the mountains of Tora Bora. Osama bin Laden escaped because the administration held back the best military in the world -- our's -- and outsourced the job to local militias. Since then Al Qaeda has spawned a vast and decentralized network operating in 65 countries. Only Dick Cheney could call this a success.
The situation in Afghanistan deteriorates steadily, squandering the sacrifices of our troops and allies in the military campaign of 2002. The Taliban now controls entire portions of southern Afghanistan, and just across the border Pakistan is just one coup away from becoming a radical jihadist state with a full compliment of nuclear weapons. Only Don Rumsfeld could proclaim this a victory.
The Middle East is more unstable than it has been in decades. Our stalwart ally Israel is surrounded by emboldened enemies who talk of wiping it off the face of the earth. Hezbollah flags fly from rooftops in Shiia slums of Sadr City and Iran is rebuilding Southern Lebanon. Only an Administration trapped in its own falsehoods could say we are making progress in creating a new Middle East.
North Korea has quadrupled its nuclear weapons capability, and is defiantly testing missiles that could reach our shores. Iran is moving steadily towards membership in the nuclear club; has expanded its terrorist clientele from Hezbollah to Hamas; maintains thousands of agents in Iraq; and is governed by a fanatic who almost daily calls for Israel's destruction. Only George W Bush could declare this 'mission accomplished.'
The Bush-Cheney policies have limited our power to act decisively and the regime in Tehran knows it. We have over 130,000 American troops in Iraq in the middle of a seething Shiite population that would explode if we moved against Iran. Our troops and our foreign policy are held hostage by the neocon catastrophe in Iraq. Only this White House could name this a plan for victory.
And be forewarned : don't be surprised if they hype the Iranian nuclear crisis come October if all other appeals to fear are failing as the mid-term election approaches.
We have an Iraqi Prime Minister sustained in power by our forces, who will not speak against the Hezbollah terrorists, who will not say that Israel has a right to exist, and who will not condemn the Iranian nuclear program. No American soldier should be asked to stand up for an Iraqi government that won't stand up for freedom and against fear
Here at home, too many things have not changed in the last five years. We learned on 9/11 painful lessons about the costs of a dysfunctional intelligence system marred by bureaucratic infighting, inadequate resources, and faulty analysis. Yet the 9/11 commission recently gave our own government a failing grade on implementing intelligence reforms. Today, our ability to intercept terrorist communications remains in a legal and constitutional limbo.
The Dubai port deal reminded us only a small percentage of cargoes entering U.S. ports are even inspected. Surely if we can inspect cargoes at the Baghdad airport, we can inspect cargoes at the airports in Los Angeles, New York, and right here in Boston.
This is the reality of the world today -- a world more dangerous because of the Bush blunders and a challenge far more complicated than the gruff Cheney sound bites. America deserves -- our safety depends -- on a winning strategy to reverse this dangerous course and make our country more secure.
There are five principal priorities that demand immediate action: (1) redeploy from Iraq, (2) re-commit to Afghanistan, (3) reduce our dependence on foreign oil, (4) reinforce our homeland defense, and (5) restore America's moral leadership in the world. These "5 R's" -- if you want to call them that-- are bold steps Democrats will take to strengthen our national security, and that the Republicans who have set the agenda today resist to our national peril.
We must refocus our military efforts from the failed occupation of Iraq to what we should have been doing all along: tracking down and killing members of al Qaeda and their clones wherever they are. We must redeploy troops from Iraq -- maintain enough residual force to complete the training and deter foreign intervention, so we can free up resources to fight the global war on terror.
Republicans want to wrap this strategy in slogans because they're afraid to debate what it really is: a redeploy-to-succeed strategy -- to succeed in defeating world wide terror, and to succeed in making Iraqis themselves responsible for Iraq.
This is the opposite of the administration's stand-still-and-lose strategy - -a clear alternative from a broken policy of "more of the same." Every time President Bush tells the Iraqis we will "stay as long as it takes," he is giving squabbling politicians there an excuse to take as long as they want. All of us want democracy in Iraq but Iraqis must want it for themselves as much as we want it for them. It's long overdue for the president to realize that no American soldier should be sacrificed because Iraqi factions refuse to resolve their ethnic rivalries and their competing grasp for oil revenues.
At each step along the way, the Iraqi leaders have responded only to deadlines-a deadline to transfer authority to a provisional government, a deadline to write a Constitution, a deadline to hold three elections. So we must set another deadline to extricate our troops and get Iraq up on its own two feet-- a clear deadline of July, 2007 to redeploy our combat troops. Make Iraqis stand up for Iraq -- and bring our heroes home.
We also desperately need something else this administration disdains: diplomacy. Real diplomacy -- a Dayton-like summit of Iraq and the countries bordering it, the Arab League, NATO, and the Permanent Members of the United Nations Security Council. Our own generals have said Iraq can not be solved militarily. Only through negotiation and diplomacy can you stem the growing civil war, and only by setting a deadline to get out can we force Iraq and its neighbors to take diplomacy seriously.
"Staying the course" isn't far-sighted; it's blind. Leaving our troops in the middle of a civil war isn't resolute; it's reckless. Half of the service members listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall died after America's leaders knew our strategy would not work. It was immoral then and it would be immoral now to engage in the same delusion.
Neither can the Administration pretend that the war in Afghanistan is over or that the peace has been secured. On Thursday the president said we're on the offensive against terrorists in Afghanistan, even as the American NATO commander on the ground showed the opposite is true by making an urgent plea for more troops.
The truth is -- the Bush-Cheney Administration has engaged in a policy of cut and run in that country. This Administration has cut and run while the Taliban-led insurgency is running amok across entire regions of the country. The Administration has cut and run while Osama bin Laden and his henchmen hide and plot in a lawless no-man's land. They cut and run even as we learn from Pakistani intelligence that the mastermind of the most recent attempt to blow up American airliners was an al Qaeda leader operating from Afghanistan -- yes, from Afghanistan. That's right -- the same killers who attacked us on 9/11 are still plotting attacks against America and they're still holed up in Afghanistan.
To avoid repeating the terrible mistakes of the past, we need to send significant reinforcements to Afghanistan: Start with at least five thousand additional American troops --more elite Special Forces troops, the best counter-insurgency units in the world; more civil affairs forces; and more experienced intelligence units. More predator drones to find the enemy, more helicopters to allow rapid deployments to confront them, and more heavy combat equipment to make sure we can crush the terrorists. And more reconstruction money so that the elected government in Kabul, helped by the United States, not the Taliban, helped by al Qaeda, rebuilds the new Afghanistan.
That's how you win the hearts and minds of the local population, that's how you win a war on terror, that's how you show the world the true face of America.
America needs a national policy that understands we are threatened not just by gun barrels, but by oil barrels. The great treasury of jihadist terrorism is mideast oil. We fund both sides in the war on terror every time we fill up our gas tanks. We know how dependent we are on oil, but it's not just us. We must liberate the Middle East itself from the tyranny of dependence on petroleum so that the region no longer feeds restive and rising populations of unemployed young people a diet of illusions and rationalizations paid for by our oil money.
Nothing will change if autocratic regimes keep pumping prosperity out of the ground to pay off a new generation with petrodollar welfare checks. We cannot change this if our oil money is sustaining the status quo. We must end the Empire of Oil.
We can't allow Energy independence to be used as a mere slogan, it has to be a solution. We need a revolutionary set of new policies to promote alternative fuels on a crash basis. This is essential if we are to reverse the tide towards catastrophic global climate change; it is essential to making the United States a leader in vast new opportunities to develop and market clean energy technologies -- but most importantly, energy independence is essential to defeating jihadist terrorism and liberating our country from our bondage to tyrannical, hostile, and unstable regimes.
In June -- here at Faneuil Hall -- I unveiled a comprehensive strategy to break our oil addiction. It begins with an aggressive goal: reduce U.S. oil consumption by 2.5 million barrels of oil a day by 2015.
I envision an aggressive timeline to immediately expand the availability and production of renewable fuels and a new fleet of energy-efficient cars, trucks and SUVs. This strategy invests heavily in renewable energy and efficiency. By clearing the pathways to innovation, investing in our workers and infrastructure, and providing American consumers with broader choices, my energy plan will provide the tools to help move America forward, toward real energy security for the 21st Century.
And to really make America safe, it is imperative that we reinforce our homeland defense-- starting by doing what should have begun two years ago, and fully implementing the 9/11 Commission's recommendations. President Bush this week said that Osama bin Laden and the terrorists plan to target America's 'weak points.' Our weak points -- our borders, our chemical plants, our railways-- are weak because this administration has the wrong priorities. The President's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans are not only unfair and unaffordable: they are taking from homeland security. What we have today from this White House is a pretense of national security on the cheap -- and it must end.
We must rearm ourselves at home. Hurricane Katrina showed us in the most tragic way that the Department of Homeland Security is woefully unprepared to handle a natural disaster we know is coming a week in advance, let alone a catastrophic terrorist attack that takes America by surprise. In 2004, the 9/11 Commission concluded that the Bush Administration should distribute homeland security funding to cities and states based on risk. Yet the Commission's most recent report card gives the government an "F" because this Administration has cut homeland security funding for the states that need it most -- which happen to be blue states -- while distributing funds disproportionately to the red states that need it least. What should count here is the terrorist target list, not the Republican National Committees' political target list.
To make America safe we must ensure the rapid development and deployment of reliable technologies to detect the secret transport of deadly materials. For $1.5 billion dollars -- less than is spent in a week in Iraq -- we could purchase the equipment to scan every cargo container bound for U.S. ports to ensure that it does not contain any weapons of mass destruction.
At the same time, we must secure the most dangerous of all weapons at their source -- especially in the former Soviet Union -- where far too much nuclear material remains dangerously unprotected. We must enhance FBI counterterrorism capabilities at home-- an effort that is moving far too slowly because of a lack of urgency from this Administration.
And we must put an end to Washington's continued inaction to secure our border. Border security backed by immigration reform is actually one area where sensible Democrats and Republicans have come together to forge a compromise. Unfortunately, this proposal has been held hostage to narrow right-wing political interests while our security hangs in the balance.
We must -- and let me tell you no matter what the White House wants, the Congress will -- reconstitute the Bin Laden unit at the CIA, which the Administration inexplicably disbanded. Maybe they thought that if they weren't looking for Bin Laden, no one would notice that they weren't finding him.
So these are four specific steps that will start us on the right path -- but they alone will not win the war on terror.
Most important, we need to make America be America again. We must restore our moral authority and global leadership by deploying the full arsenal of our national power with smarter diplomacy, stronger alliances, more effective international institutions -- and fidelity to the values we have always stood for as a nation.
We must remember the great lesson of the Cold War when we led the world to confront a common threat. Genuine global leadership is a strategic imperative for America, not a favor we do for other countries. Leading the world's most advanced democracies isn't mushy multilateralism -- it amplifies America's voice, it extends our reach. Working through global institutions doesn't tie our hands -- it gives greater strength and legitimacy to our purposes and dampens the fear and resentment that our overwhelming power sometimes triggers in others.
We need to strengthen international institutions, build alliances that amplify our power and extend the reach of our influence, and remember that even the most powerful nation on the face of the earth needs to make some friends on this planet.
Leadership means talking with countries who aren't our friends. It means engaging directly when our vital national security interests are at stake -- even with countries that we strongly disagree with -- because treating dialogue as a means rather than an end can help us achieve our goals. As John Kennedy once said, "we must never negotiate out of fear but we must never fear to negotiate." If Richard Nixon could send Henry Kissinger to China, surely George Bush can send a real negotiating team to North Korea. If Ronald Reagan could talk to the evil empire, surely we can talk with Iran or Syria.
We must start treating our moral authority as a precious national asset that does not limit our power but magnifies our influence. Only this week did the Administration finally recognize that the protections of the Geneva Convention had to be applied to prisoners in order to comply with the law, restore our moral authority, and best protect American troops. Let me say it plainly: No American president should be for torture before he's against it.
Anyone who understood the conflict we face could never shrug off the imperative of winning the hearts and minds of Muslim moderates.
We must start leading by example. We should never engage in or excuse violations of basic human rights. We must uphold the rule of law in our own conduct. And we should never accept official lying by our leaders. No White House should ever bully the Director of the CIA to make a case he knows isn't true -- and no White House should reward it with the Medal of Freedom.
To restore our credibility with moderates in the Muslim world and to safeguard Israel's place in the world, we must renew the search for a lasting peace in the Middle East. We know from the hard lessons of the past that it won't be easy. But we know from the disasters of the present that it is essential.
I've outlined five specific steps to make our nation safer which I believe stand in stark contrast to the Republicans' failed policies.
So let's have a real debate. Let's give all of us -- Republicans and Democrats alike -- a real "accountability moment" this November.
Let's stand up for what we believe. It is the only way to win. And it is the only way we will be worthy of winning.
Let the President give his speeches attacking the patriotism of his fellow Americans. Let him play the politics of fear. As Democrats, we choose to offer a real plan to attack the terrorists and free Americans from fear.
And then let the people decide.

The True Priorities of Life vs. What "They" Want..
Current mood: exhausted

Seattle, August 22, 2006 - Personal Priorities Sometimes Forgotten http://home.comcast.net/~squeeze002/cellulitis/index.html
I recently had a Personal Medical Emergency that landed me in the hospital and included two (2) surgeries. The diagnosis was: Groin Cellulitis. Which basically was a boil that did not come to a head so it could be drained. The surgery involved removing the huge infected area leaving an open surgical would of the size of about 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size.
The fact that I couldn't drain this was my first clue that something was wrong, something that was so out of the ordinary that I had no choice but to call the doctor, make an appointment, and I had already knew that I was going to end up in the hospital because of it.
I am not the type that panics when I get a sniffle, usually most medical care is something that involves common sense.
The problem I faced was that I am uninsured, so I knew that the bill with this situation was going to be horrific (I still haven't seen it yet). But I had to take care of it, or let the infection just run it's course and basically kill me. And for some reason, I chose the route of getting help.
I went into the hospital on August 11 and was released with the surgical wound on August 16, 2006. Now, I have never had surgery where they left a hole open, but with infections running increasingly more difficult to stop the method of leaving the would open was the best course of action, although it was rather horrifying for me to discover that I was going to have to use a mirror to pull the gauze out of the wound, clean it and repack the gauze damp with a solution to control any infectious growth from occurring.
Without the help of my friend, Ed, I never would have been able to show the doctor and nurses that I was going to be capable of taking care of the wound myself. His help didn't come in the way of helping me with the wound it came in the seemingly unimportant purchase of a mirror that I could use to see what I needed to. I was driven to be able to get back home, out of that uncomfortable hospital bed, and back to work. Since I don't have insurance, I also don't have sick days, vacation time, or anything like that in order to just sit back and recover.
So far I have had a couple of appointments to check on the wound and my progress, and thus far the comments are that I am doing very well with the care and they have been rather surprised to find out that I have been taking myself to the appointments, taking care of the would by myself, and that I have been working hard to follow the instructions given even related to the best, although the worst part, the use of oxycodone in order control the pain. I really don't like taking the pills, however, I would probably kill someone that ran off with them as they are the only thing that I have that keep the pain at bay so I can do something as simple as write stuff in my blog, do work on the programming that I do for a living, and be able to change the dressing 2 x a day. Of course, I do have one thing that makes this all a bit different and that's a Foley Catheter. I had to work hard to get them to put it in, but it had to be done. The nurse asked, "Are you sure you want the catheter?" And I told her, "I don't want the catheter, but I really don't have a choice, I have to do what I need to to recover from this." So, when I wander to my appointment(s) I have my little porta-potty with me, and although I should be embarrassed by it, it's a matter of getting better, letting this sort of thing stop me from working hard to get out of the financial hole that all that 'economic recovery' that was brought about by Bush and those that think like him.
It's a fact that nearly double the number of people that were medically uninsured has DOUBLED since BushCo has taken over office. The increasing numbers of employers that are reducing employee wages, outsourcing overseas any job that can be outsourced, while good for the bottom line is leaving a void of services and support for the people in the United States that need things like medical insurance. And it has not crossed the lips of any of the Republicans, it has just been the 'stay the course', 'fear the terrorists' and listen to King George because he's the Decider, the Reformer, and the Uniter.
Now, I'll tell you, the medical issues that brought me to this point has made me re-evaluate my own personal priorities. My health comes first, which means changing the pattern of paying a bill instead of buying insulin for my diabetes. From this point on the diabetes care will come FIRST and the bills will be second or even a lower priority. And as far as how important King George and his idiot base I could care less about them. OH, sure, I'm going to pay attention, because I am still praying for the day that he is out of office, and the worst case scenario is January 29, 2009. I would prefer him out of office tomorrow, even better the day before yesterday would be good too.
I happened to see the Idiot George on the news this morning talking about the bullshit that him and his buddies like to spew. But he still holds onto the idea that he can do the "terrorist surveillance program" without paying attention to any law of the United States, because he's the King ya know and so far Unchecked, Unbridled and Incompetent in regards to actually doing the work of keeping the U.S. safe, as many reports of the readiness of the Homeland Security and a number of other glaring, yet wasteful methods of managing money.
So the bottom line as far as the 'leadership' of this country, there is still no one that can convince me that BushCo has the best interests of the United States in mind, it's been all for profit of the buddies and cronies under the umbrella of lies, theft and incompetence.
But enough of that Bush, back to the a few things that I am grateful for, that have come to light during my current personal crisis. That has been friends and neighbors that have shown up to assist me that I didn't expect to happen really. My friend Andy, who helped me when I left the hospital. He was very sweet and brought me flowers, which was a surprise for sure. And there's Corrine, the girl living next door. She has been helping me by helping me clean the house, get things at the store when needed, doing laundry, and checking up on me to see how things are going. There's also Ed, the savior with the mirror, my only way to show them that I was serious about taking care of this horrifying wound. It might not have seemed like much to him at the time, but it was the key component to me going home and not ending up in some care facility.
And, lastly, but certainly not the least important, my client, the one that pays me to work. Although there are no medical benefits and such, the work that I do I get to do from home, and at nearly any hour of the day, which is perfect for this type of recovery. They have been patient during this time that I have been recovering and I have been working as much as I can without making a bunch of silly mistakes along the way. It's really amazing really to be able to work and recover. Although it has been slow, I know that I am doing the right things to take care of myself, accepting help when it is offered, and am grateful for all the understanding and help that I have been given during the last two weeks from those around me.
So, although the incident seems like a terrible thing, I should be able to find some of the good things in all of this. A new drive to take care of my diabetes, the need to focus on myself for a while, and being able to see who really is a friend and who is not. Just going to do the things I need to in the moment and hopefully things will turn out just fine. Because, just like this open surgical wound that I'm having to care for, there is hope in the future that it will heal, and hope for the future that someday, someway and somehow Bush and his demented followers will be out of office and things can begin to heal in many ways.

Ack! It wasn't a pimple...
Current mood: peaceful
Just a little note here, decided to put the more full information on my website under the joyful excitement of Cellulitis. Course this one had me in Harborview for 5 days, now I'm home caring for the wound that was left behind. I'm just trying to follow the doctor's instructions and behaving as much as I can over all of this.
I'm hoping that I'll be done with this stuff over the next few weeks. It's been an experience that I don't usually enjoy for sure.
I haven't had the chance to empty out all my email yet and see what things have been going on. I'm sure there's been some really stupid stuff.

Israel/Lebanon Violence Spill Into US and more Tax Cuts?..

Israel/Lebanon Violence Spill Into US and more Tax Cuts?..

The Neo-Conservative-Republican-BushCo Plan for World Peace is WORKING!
Seattle, July 28,2006 - Hatred hits home: 6 shot at Jewish office the Seattle-Times http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003160605_shooting29m1.html
 |
A Muslim man angry with Israel barged into the offices of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle Friday afternoon and opened fire with a handgun, killing one woman and wounding five others before surrendering to police.
Three of the women were in critical condition late Friday.
A law-enforcement source identified the arrested suspect as Naveed Afzal Haq, 30, who until recently had lived in Everett, and said Haq apparently has a history of mental illness. Court records show Haq has a charge of lewd conduct pending against him in Benton County.
The shooting came a day after the FBI had warned Jewish organizations nationwide to be on alert after Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon and al-Qaida's second in command urged that the war raging in the Middle East be carried to the U.S. However, the law-enforcement source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said there is no evidence Haq was involved with any group.
The top part there is from the Seattle-Times report. It's strange to think that the hatred that is directed towards Israel is now starting to show it's face just about a mile from where I live. I notice too, that under the picture of the man they have in custody for the shooting has "Peace Be Unto You" under this little High School picture.
Has be been taking lessons from BushCo regarding the peace process, kill first and then proclaim peace?
I'm not sure if this is a beginning of terrorism in the U.S., however it is a striking reminder that the hatred that is the backbone of most of the Middle East Region seems to permeate most of the world. I particularly don't care about Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, or any of those middle eastern countries, but I DO CARE that BushCo is just rubber stamping the violence with their lack of foresight.
Of course, maybe the Republicans need another 9/11 to make the Republicans look tough again. However, 9/11 didn't change my mind about Bush the first time, and if there's another terrorist attack in some large scale then it tells me without a doubt that all the warrantless domestic spying of Americans, the Patriot Act and its intent to be the "Enabling Act" for the King Bush, and all the lies, theft, and destruction of all the things that America used to stand for seem to be lost.
Is this one man's action a sign of things to come in more horrendous ways? Most likely, the answer is YES. As long as the BushCo is doing the job that they are doing in the world without regard to anything but the corporate bottom line (see the latest releases of the oil company profits reports).
So be prepared, for all the good works of the U.S. Government, led by the most incompetent group of men ever in history to protect you from all the evils in the world, or in reality, be prepared for the BushCo (incompetent group mentioned above) to bring terrorism to you town, in living color for them to use that lovely fear mongering method of running a country into your living room through the media.
Just remember, BushCo rewards all failures under it's rule with promotions, money and pat on the back.

| U.S. House Does the Dirty Work |
| July 29, 2006 - Washington DC
Those Neo-Conservative-Republican-BushCo followers are at it again. This is a good one really. The U.S. House passed the bill to increase the MINIMUM WAGE in the United States. Start celebrating, start borrowing lots of money at the new increased interest rates, and rejoice, the U.S. House is going to give the poor people a raise that will take until 2012 to be in full force.
OH! But WAIT there's a hitch, the same bill passed by the U.S. House has included yet another instant giveaway to the Richest Americans, the Estate Tax (or as they call it the death tax). One of the tax cuts that BushCo has been trying to push through ever since he got into office. Reason, Bush, Cheney and the small number of the richest Americans will save billions in taxes.
Why is that an issue? Why should I care if more tax cuts are handed out like candy to a gaggle of obese little children? One reason, less taxes collected, less money for social programs, more reasons to cut those things that actually help people. Doubt me, look at FEMA and New Orleans, was that fiasco handled by the competent and caring?
Again, it will most likely come down to Senator Cantwell from Washington State to stand up for the right thing. Not cutting the Estate Tax for the filthy rich. She's rich, has been for some time, but still there's a large danger in cutting the income while increasing spending. Soon, the U.S. will have to sell off more things to the Arabs (which Bush has been working on doing for quite some time now) just to pay for the food that they want to send to the troops in whatever "war on terror" location that it will be tomorrow.
It's actually, all politics when it comes to the bill that U.S. House passed. If the Democrats do NOT vote for the "MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE" they are bad for the poor people, however if a Democrat does vote NO on that bill they aren't trying to deny a minimum wage increase, they are trying to stop yet another tax cut. The Republicans know that most people in the United States are stupid enough, or at least they were (praying to Lightbulb that Americans discovered a working brain cell), to believe the combination in the bill passed by the U.S. House (the same house that has been noted as being the most corrupt, neo-conservative and anti-American group ever to be in office).
We'll see, the Republicans are going to try every dirty trick that they can to make their political points. And they will accept assistance from anyone, including Usama Bin Laden to gain a few poll points so they look like they are doing their job. I just know that the current set of Republicans need to be sent home packing, their retirement packages need to be nullified and transferred into the strong Social Security system that they have been trying to rob since the money was put out of their reach. And that goes for the Democrats, that are no different than the Republicans, that are more interested in the big money givers than doing the job they were entrusted with through the vote. As one person said, sorry, I don't know who or where I heard it, "People should not be afraid of their government, their government should be afraid of them." |
Is there a solution? Yes, people need to be people, realize that everything that they are from the most basic building block of their cells are made of exactly the same material, there is NO difference, none. Until the world comes to that realization, the wars will continue, the killing in name for the reason of religion will continue. It's a pity really, as I always thought that the human race would become more than what they are than the less than they are becoming.
http://political.moveon.org/dontnukeiran/
It is critical that we raise the alarm about reports that the Bush administration is planning a nuclear attack against Iran. A great country should never contemplate using nuclear weapons. If hundreds of thousands of Americans speak out in opposition to a nuclear attack immediately we can discredit the idea of a nuclear attack before it can take root.

And not to worry, Bush, his crooked buddies and the oil companies are doing just fine. Soon you will be paying $3.00+ per gallon at the gas pump and above. Thru the Flames they Give Birth..
Current mood: mellow
Thru the Flames they Give Birth..

July 24, 2006 - The Neo-Conservative-Republican Birthing Method for next retirement community in the Middle East.
| What HAS Happened |
| Afghanistan |
The first place BushCo attacked. Done after 9/11, however also after BushCo screwed up an oil pipeline deal with the Taliban. The first clear sign that BushCo doesn't negotiate, they dictate and usually screw up the deal |
| Result |
Afghanistan is the largest provider of Opium to the world today. The Taliban are retaking the country as BushCo basically bombed, destroyed and left the country to do whatever. |
| Iraq |
The illegal war to secure the oil fields in Iraq. Illegal Torture of Prisoners, Domestic Spying, Lies Daily about Progress, and billions of dollars and countless lives destroyed because of the NeoCon-Republican Greed Machine. |
| Result |
Iraq is falling into civil war based upon the differences in religion in the country. Something that BushCo was specifically warned about yet ignored fully. The U.S. installed democracy was basically a bunch that were picked by the U.S., oh, sure they had a vote, but the Iraq Government is only effective in the small area surrounded by U.S. troops in Bagdad, while the rest of the country is turning into a complete disaster, except very little word about the decreased oil production (which was supposed to have money rolling into Iraq to build and rebuild the destruction wrought by BushCo). Iraq has been the best possible recruitment tool for terrorists and BushCo has proudly run around enjoying the deaths and of course money sucked from the situation. |
| Lebanon |
Kidnaps 2 (two) Israeli soldiers for whatever reason. Israel of course over-reacts using the mathematical equation (1 Israeli = 500 Americans). Israel begins bombing Lebanon, killing without regard to guilt or innocence ("destroy 10 buildings for every missile Hezbollah sends to Israel") The killing will continue with God's (Mr. BushCo) blessing, as it's more of the "war on terra". Rice says that it's just "birth pangs of a New Middle East". |
| Result |
Still yet unknown completely. Larger numbers of people are backing the "terraists" that BushCo seems to be the recruiting poster for, so maybe their plan is working. Make as many people in the Middle East hate Americans so BushCo can have another terrorist attack in the U.S. to make BushCo a war hero. |
.
| What MAY Happen NEXT |
| Syria |
A neighbor to Israel. "If Israel makes a land entry into Lebanon, they can get to within 20 kilometers of Damascus. What will we do? Stand by with our arms folded? Absolutely not. Without any doubt Syria will intervene in the conflict. I repeat, if Israel makes a land invasion of Lebanon and gets near us, Syria will not stand by with arms folded. It will enter the conflict."
Of course BushCo doesn't talk to Syria and refuses to because well BushCo is basically on the STUPID side and not into diplomacy at all. So far the basic BushCo diplomacy is, "Be as you are told, or we will give you Democracy at the end of a gun barrel." |
| Iran |
Syria and Iran have a mutual defense pact and that could bring Iran into the war. Don't be surprised, but this is EXACTLY what the NeoConservative-Republican-ChickenHawks want, to be able to attack Iran. And although the U.S. is rushing more missiles to Israel, even as I write this, Iran is not a weak little country and is willing to fight.
The Sunburn missiles that Iran has can reach the American Fleet, it is capable of defeating the Aegis Radar Systems on the U.S. military systems and could bring the Israeli search for 2 (two) soldiers to the U.S. Soldiers in Iraq in the form of large missiles.
If Iran decides to cut the oil outflow to the Western World, the price of oil would skyrocket, BushCo and buddies would be making a killing for sure, but it would undermine the global economy. BushCo won't really care, as long as they have a pile of money to sleep on. |
| Syria |
Syria has a very large stockpile of Chemical weapons and are not opposed to using them. Should they do that, Israel will most likely respond with weapons that may include a nuclear weapon. It's not unthinkable, after all this area of the world is not known for it's sensibilities and ability to work things out well. |
| Israel |
Should Israel go mad, as it has in the past, it may anger the entire region with the seething hate that seems to permeate the entire middle east.
Should that happen even those Arab countries that chastise the actions of Hezbollah will have to choose between Israel or be toppled by the anger of their own people. |
| Pakistan |
Pakistan, a Nuclear Power, faces being toppled by the Islamic extremists (Al Quada, Taliban, Hezbollah), and that will give Al Quada exactly what it wants, NUCLEAR WEAPONS, something that BushCo has been saying will happen. There is an American Special Forces team standing by to get those weapons out of Pakistan should that country fall, but if they fail, and don't get me wrong, the U.S. military has always been good, but being headed by the BushCo they have been degraded to the point that failure might just happen. |
WILL THIS HAPPEN? I don't know. Will BushCo do anything to try to stop it? I doubt it. Will we see terrorist attacks in the U.S. because of the Anti-Israeli hatred in the Middle East? YES, that will happen, because the U.S. insists on not dealing with the problems and with BushCo, they seem to thrive on CREATING problems, then walking way and ignoring that they screwed it up.

Neo-Nuts and Chicken Hawks At It Again..
Current mood: irritated

July 19, 2006 - Oh My Goodness. First Israel overreacts as normal to the radical nuts next door by bombing everything they want. Now the normal activity of the Neo-Conservative-Nut-Republicans are spewing the idea that the U.S. should make matters worse by attacking Syria and Iran.
It's been in the planning stages for years, the starting of the little religious war from the Bible. Without that, the Christians won't be swooped up into heaven leaving all the unworthy ones here on earth to live life in terrible conditions. It's in the Bible, no I haven't spent a lot of my time reading it, and NO I don't believe that would be what God would want in the first place. But that's just a bit of the background that goes along with the rest of this.
Weekly Standard column titled "Our war", editor William Kristol called Iran "the prime mover behind the terrorist groups who have started this war", which, he argued, should be considered part of "the global struggle against radical Islamism".
He complained that Washington recently had done a "poor job of standing up and weakening Syria and Iran" and called on President George W Bush to fly directly from the "silly [Group of Eight] summit in St Petersburg ... to Jerusalem, the capital of a nation that stands with us, and is willing to fight with us, against our common enemies".
"This is our war, too," said Kristol, who was also a founder and co-chairman of the recently lapsed Project for the New American Century (PNAC).
"They are now testing us more boldly than one would have thought possible a few years ago," wrote Kristol. "Weakness is provocative. We have been too weak, and have allowed ourselves to be perceived as weak," he went on, adding that "the right response is renewed strength", notably "in pursuing regime change in Syria and Iran [and] consider[ing] countering this act of Iranian aggression with a military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities".
National Review: "All of us in the free world owe Israel an enormous thank-you for defending freedom, democracy and security against the Iranian cat's-paw wholly owned terrorist subsidiaries Hezbollah and Hamas.
"They are defending their own homeland and very existence, but they are also defending America's homeland as our frontline democratic ally in the Middle East," according to Kudlow, who, like Kristol and other like-minded polemicists, also named Syria, "which is also directed by Iran", as a promising target as the conflict expands.
Former Republican Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, in an appearance on the National Broadcasting Co's Meet the Press on Sunday when he described the conflict as "the early stages of ... the Third World War".
National Review on Monday, bluntly titled "Eradication first", Rubin elaborated on that theme, arguing that diplomacy in the current crisis will only be successful "if it commences both after the eradication of Hezbollah and Hamas, and after their paymasters pay a terrible cost for their support. If ... peace is the aim, it is imperative to punish the Syrian and Iranian leadership,"
So according to the Neo-Conservative-Nut-Republican-ChickenHawk crowd it's necessary to just go to war with the entire region of the Middle East.
So far, I'm NOT convinced here that it is the best course of action in any way. BushCo and his Neo-Nuttie-Buddies have done NOTHING to strengthen the United States, and each step in the direction that they have suggested and followed so far has weakened the United States, financially, militarily, spiritually and morally.
Of course, since the military is so far stretched at this point, the option of going to war with the entire region is going to pull up the fun little nuclear button that Bush has been itching to push to watch the mushroom clouds wafting over the horizon in successful spreading of democracy to the people of the world. It's a pity, that democracy has NEVER been achieved through the actions of force.
But I'll leave you with that thought, and the knowledge that somewhere, in some brightly lit meeting room somewhere of millionaires profiting from the Iraq occupation will be discussing ways to make the Republicans look like they know what they are doing, no matter what the cost is, so you'll vote them into office this coming election. If they believe that dropping an atomic bomb on some foreign country will get them the votes of the un-education masses of America they will. And do not doubt that the masses of America are becoming less and less educated, just look at the schools closing in your own area. They are closing all over this country, because Mr. I'mGonna-FixIt-Decider has failed in everything that he has done to better this country, just by Leaving Every Child Behind, Bringing Democracy to Iraq, and Protecting the Country from Terraists by being the best possible poster child for Terraist Recruitment.
But not to worry, the bombs won't be dropping on U.S. soil, at least not yet. As you might not know, China and Russia work with Iran, because Iran has a very large supply of oil, oil that Russia and China want. So, bombing Iran might drive the price of Oil to the point that the American Oil Companies have always wanted, Americans paying $6, $7, $8 per gallon, but it also might spark off some very angry reactions from the two other countries that have very capable nuclear missiles.
Will this all happen? I don't know, but it should help you fall asleep calmly and peacefully with the knowledge that Bush and his Neo-Nut-Buddies are protecting their pocketbooks and will do everything they can to make sure their money is safe. Just don't mind the dead bodies that might be caused by any of their actions, they aren't important.

Bush Helps Bring the Peace..
Current mood: annoyed
Bush Helps Bring the Peace..

July 16, 2006 - So the news is, Israel is bombing Lebanon because two soldiers were kidnapped. Of course the news is busy talking about all the reasons, all the sensible things that are being done by both parties. Some are saying that Israel is doing the right thing, others are saying that they are overreacting. I heard this morning that because Israel has such a small number of people in the country that every person in Israel is worth 500 here in the US. So following that math, provided by Newt Gingrich by the way, 2 soldiers kidnapped allow Israel to kill 1000 innocent or not innocent people at their whim. There were more that died today in Israel, I believe it was 9 so we now have 4500 that Israel can kill at their whim.
Oh, I know, saying anything that is remotely negative about Israel makes me a terrible person, but frankly, I don't care. These people want to be treated like results but run around screaming an eye for an eye. And since there were millions killed by the Nazi, at 500 per head the number of people that Israel can kill at their whim is fairly large. It's a good thing that they have nuclear weapons, should make it easier for them to flex their manhood at the neighbors.
Now, don't look at me, I'm not Arabian, I'm not Palestinian, Lebanese, or something like that. I'm just an American, German, Russian, English, Danish, Norweigan mixture born in the US. I don't have any desire to visit anything in the middle east at this point. The idea of visiting Egypt was something I considered until I watched the news about how they treat gay people, which I found utterly disgusting at the core.
This isn't the first time that Israel has tried to change Lebanon to their liking. They did it in 1955 (it failed), in 1958 (it failed) and now they are trying it again. Although Lebanon was beginning to turn into the very good example of Democracy on its own without the help of the Useless and Stupid Bush Plan of Democracy "Submit to my Will or I'll Bomb You". But Israel has taken that lesson well, so off to bomb they go.
Now we aren't talking about very sensible people over there in the middle east. They like to shoot each other for things like a woman wearing pants, people wearing shorts, and screaming, yelling and rioting anytime they see a cartoon. So I would say that insanity may be something that is the water over there. They are, at least in my view, people living in an area of the world that will never see Peace, because they really don't believe their own religions they are fighting over. All those religions have the same roots, worship the same God, but religion seems to be an insanity in and of itself, as I can see even in the Christian faith and the hatred that people breed in order to be more of what they really aren't.
Of course there's oil involved, so Bush, is doing his "Rah Rah Go Team" for Israel to go after them "terraists". He just sees any bombs being dropped by someone that gives money to the Republicans as a success in the "War on Terror". It's a pity really, watching the talking heads try to say what will happen, the reasons, and all the crap surrounding the whole deal.
The truth is, since 1947 when Israel was created out of the dust, and out of global shame, there has been a war in that region from day ONE. Doubt me, check the site http://nobelprize.org/educational_games/peace/conflictmap/ . It has a pictorial account of the wars in the world from early on, and that area has been at war, constantly since that time. They won't stop there, and maybe, Bush will get to see his mushroom clouds he's so excited to see, because no matter what he might say, he would love to see those radioactive clouds floating around the world so his message of Peace and Democracy can spread over the entire world.
