STUDIO: Day 1 (pics)
Sunset Sound is everything we expected. We came in this morning and were treated like royalty from the start...nothing but good vibes. We spent the first half of the day setting up our equiptment, checking tones, gettin comfortable, and shootin the shit with the Zutons...a cool group of lads from the UK who are recording in one of the other rooms.
Halfway int the day we started tracking the first tune ____ ha ha, I like surprises. All I can say is that it sounds great so far and we're having a blast.
Here are a few pics from the day:

Thank you!
So...we're back in L.A. I want to thank everybody who made it out to the last show of the tour at Safari Sams...it's been a great run, we have enough stories to keep us in one place for a while.
I didn't notice but apparantly there was some video clips taken of the show posted up on Youtube.

Update
We're in a Super 8 in Fort Wayne so I thought I'd write an overdue update. We were back at the Hideaway in Louisville last week for another good time and a great show. We met some great folks who own a leather shop next to the venue who make some great stuff. They even have a patent on a guiter strap that they created that are really cool. We woke up the next morning and headed off to my old stomping grounds, Bloomington, IN. I love this town and we had a great show. We threw down pretty hard and left the place in shambles. After the show my friend threw a cat at me and left with a nice scar and some bloody jeans. Don't worry, the cat wasn't harmed.
Back to Kalamazoo after that for another trip to Michigan. There was a blues fest convienently down the road. I don't have much to say about Michigan except I'm not a fan. On to the Sidetrack in Indiana. This place is just a cloud of smoke when you open the door and there's not much else. Not a good venue in any way. Next.
Red, White, and Brews in Michigan City. This was a cool outdoor beer fest with some other cool bands and a lot of beer. We played a day time set and had a blast. We had some sound issues with the monitors, but that seems to happen to us way too often. We pushed through and got the crowd going. We got to spend the rest of the day watching some other bands, drinking, drinking, and drinking. Our merch girl was passed out by 9:30, good job Jill. Saw some fireworks from the beach and now we're in Fort Wayne. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes.

Miner, MO
Current mood: crazy
Well, we got to Miner, MO pretty early for soundcheck and were very surprised at the venue. The place was out in the middle of nowhere, but big enough for the White Stripes. The people were really cool, we did a long soundcheck and housed some deep fried delights. I don't think they really get bands like us in those parts, but we did our best just the same. I think we really grabbed a few of them, and just plain scared the rest. After we played it turned into a giant dance club, so we played a little pool and took the opportunity to have a few drinks and try and show Ivan how to not dance like a coked up Richard Simmons. I don't think it worked. Thanks for letting us crash Jeremy, your air conditioning is fantastic.

Back on the road!!
We're now back on the road after a short break for some much needed rest, and a chance to rehearse some new material for the new record we should have out next year. We kicked things off the day after the 4th of July with a show at Bell's in Kalamazoo. This place has some great beer and some great people. We had some cobwebs to work out, but I think we did just that a few songs into the night. We played outside, which is usually nice and this was nice as well. Then we spent the night sleeping in a park under the stars, with a nice wake up by the cops. Apparently there was some neighbors to the park who could not function with people sleeping in the park. I guess the 911 situation in Kalamazoo is reserved for emergencies of this nature. Anyway, we pile in the van and head towards Marion, IN for our next show.
On the way to this show we almost died. I'd like to thank Eric for keeping the van from turning us all into a horrible mess on the side of the road. We blew a tire that we should've got replaced before we left, but we are smarter than any mechanic who tells us we should replace them. Anyway, everything turned out fine, got some new tires at the store where you can get anything, Walmart, and spent about 3 hours in the store while the repairs took place. They have some comfy patio furniture, but a horrible magazine selection. Oh well, just took a nap. We rolled into Marion to a surprising cool venue with a bunch of cool people. It just goes to show you, on the road, you never know what you're are going to get. We had a great show and a great time. Thanks again to Trace for the hospitality. I promise, we'll be back.

Back in the Haute 5/19/07
I love Terre Haute. The Verve is a great venue; Kevin and Scott run a good show at the bar. We tore up three sets, got Judd silly on birthday shots and played the hell out of the last show until July. Thanks to everyone who made the show such a good time for us, see you in July...
Here are some pictures...

Michigan City, IN 5/18/07
Our newest crew member Jill used to work at the Shoreline Brewery so we had a great group of close friends there for the show. She also happened to bring a wedding afterparty with her so we got the tuxedos up on the dancefloor. It was a great time as always...tasty beers...although, they still haven't brewed a Milk and Honey Stout yet...tsk tsk.
