Starfish and Coffee LIVE
Current mood: quixotic
Category: Music

Hey Fellow Fish Friends!

Just wanting to let all y'all know about some upcoming Starfish and Coffee concerts!

We are headlining in Tampa on Friday July 4th at the 93.3 WFLZ 4th of July Fireworks at Channelside.  There is a whole day of events before the fireworks. Radio Reset (www.myspace.com/radioreset), a really great band out of St. Petersburg, FL is opening for us, and when we're done, it's some of the best fireworks in the Southeast!  We've been told 25,000 people will be there (for the fireworks, not us lol) but hopefully we'll make some new friends!

Out next to Charleston, in Mt. Pleasant, SC, we're playing at The Village Tavern on July 19th.  We'll be playing once again with The Unusual Suspects (www.myspace.com/theunusualsuspects) as well as sharing the stage for the first time with The Stellas (www.myspace.com/thestellasband).

Back up in Atlanta, we return to Smith's Olde Bar on Tuesday July 22th as part of the Comcast On Demand Music Series.

Later that week, we'll be playing down in Macon, GA at The Power Station on Friday July 25th with Radio Reset (again, www.myspace.com/radioreset) and Last November (www.myspace.com/lastnovember).

Then, to kick off August, we're playing at The New Brookland Tavern in W. Columbia, SC on Friday August 1st with Ed Lemon, Jr. and The Get Rights (www.myspace.com/thegetrights) followed up with Charlotte's Underground the next day, August 2nd, up in, you guessed it, Charlotte, NC, where we'll be playing with Lucky Five (www.myspace.com/luckyfive).

We are in the process of confirming a number of dates in August, including one I wish I could tell you about, but until it's confirmed, I am sitting on my hands, but I can mention a really special date in September.

On September 19th, we'll be back down in the Tampa area for a benefit for The Invisible Children (www.invisiblechildren.com).  If you don't know about this organization, take a deep breath and click on their website and be in for a wallop.  A lot of musicians are kicking in and all of us in Starfish and Coffee are glad we can help and be a part of it.

Anyways, we all hope to see you out at the shows.  Oh, and a number of you have emailed asking if/when we can play in your area(s), and I just want to let you know we are working on a lot more shows and hopefully will get out to see a lot of you soon!  Thanks again for your support!

That's all the news that's fit to type right now.

The Silence is Over...
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music

Hey Gang,

We've put up five one minute-ish long teases of our up and coming album up here on myspace for you to listen to.  Let us know what you think, but remember, be gentle, Ross is still nursing that clavical fracture!

Direct from Ross: Debut CD Info & More
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Music

Hello everyone, it's Ross.

I'm very happy to announce our self-titled debut cd will be released April, 29th.
I have been juggling so many things recently, that I've ended up overlooking the simple things like writing this blog/email.

Here's the track listing:

1 - Hello
2 - Tragicomedy
3 - My Holiday
4 - Sell Me Out
5 - Smile
6 - Rock Star
7 - Sirens
8 - This Moment
9 - Not Broken
10- Trippin'
11- Morning Stars
12- All In All
13- Good Night

We are fast at work on our website.  It should be online very soon (by mid April...or kinda now?)  There's some kind of construction thing going on I've been told but you can see it in progress at www.mystarfishandcoffee.com.

We will be having a cd listening party on April 26th from 6:30pm to 8pm (Atlanta area).  The where and why and all that stuff will be online in the next few days.

On other notes, I broke my right clavical bone about 5 weeks ago and we had to rearrange dates and such because I couldn't play guitar.  It's getting better and now I have a doctors' ok so I'm getting back in the swing of things.

During this entire process (once the cd was done) I kept asking myself what comes first, the chicken or the egg?

It's kinda like I've been juggling hot potatoes and I keep throwing them higher in hopes that it takes longer for them to get back to my hands.

Oh yeah, and out with the old.  Whatever music that has been up with the myspace page is purposely leaving soon with this notice.

The new stuff is coming.

At any rate, I really think this cd has been worth the wait.
You'll be hearing from us very soon
