Your Daily Dose of Daily Photo Blog (Warning)

Dear Joel,

We thought maybe you'd want to start your collage off with this incredibly gratifying picture.
                                                                      Sincerely Yours,
                                                                         ROYFORD
Ps. - Thanks for filling in :)

On to business!

Dear Veiwing Public,

We apologize for the rather startling, if not frightening content of our last several photo blogs. Yes, every picture is worth a thousand words - but sometimes a lot of those words are actually screams.
We continue to adore you and agree to fully disclaim all further unpleasing visual content with a "Warning" message and an even more foul looking picture of what may happen to various essenential organs of your body if you are to continually look at said blog. A concept we cleverly stole from foreign anti-tobacco adds. That's right, here at Stereo Jesus Headquarters, we're globally conscious. We are not however, conscious of the amount of useless and sometimes antiquated verbage that goes into any given Daily Photo Blog. We apologize for the inconvenience and someone will be with you shortly. Please hold.

Thought of the day (potentially week) - Is your computer running? Then you better make sure it takes a cell so it can call you. In case it gets lost or winded. ;) We've got your back!

DPB - 12 - Be afraid, Be very afraid!!

Photobucket

Well since Tyler's computer is on the fritz and poor Roy is far to poor to have his own computer it looks like the photo blog responsibilities have fallen on the shoulders of myself (Joel, for all those who aren't psychic). Since I very rarely get this opportunity I was going to make a collage of tons and tons of pictures of myself, but alas, this beauty of a pic caught my eye and I just had to share it with all of you for your viewing pleasure, or displeasure as the case may be. The back story and also location of this lovely shot is a little place called "The Way" in Lubbock Texas. With graffiti such as this on the walls how could the place not be cool. If you ever happen to find yourself in Lubbock on a Friday night with nothing to do I suggest you check it out and drop in on the hopping local Lubbock music scene. Here is a shout out to all the cool people in Lubbock, thanks for making our brief stay there an awesome one. Well alas, my time as your photo blog friend is coming to an end. We can 't make these too long or no one will bother to read them. Good bye my friends farewell, and don't let the awesomeness/horror of this pic haunt you for too long.

Thought - What if?

DPB - 10 - Drummer Burial Ground

Photobucket

Well as you may not already know, our lead guitar player ROY usually posts these picture blogs... but today is a different story... for i am Tyler and I have come to greet you and welcome you as we pay homage to the great drummers "Stereo Jesus" has encountered over the years... COME with me :)

Chris Bonney (top left with glasses) - Remembered for rocking out the hardest
Kyle Coleman (Bottom Left)- Remembered for truly understanding what we meant when we said "Rock and Roll," he is spoken of often in the highest regards.... he has served as the benchmark we hold for all other drummers :)
Nate Howell (top middle)- He is remember for being the most technical drummer we have shared a stage with
Luke (middle)- He is remembered for playing with us short notice and playing perfect with only 30 min rehearsal
Dane Gudde (brown coat top right)- you are remembered for having the most drive to be in a band... but alas we never played a show with you... although you did buy your own kit to be in the band, and for that we can all shout out a unbiased hoo ha... may you live on in all our memories
Jordan Brace (team america Shirt)- You are remembered for being the only drummer to actually rock multiple venues with SJ... you gave it your all, but in the end love conquers all, and you departed for a deeper love then music, actual love..... and we salute you for that... also we remember you for the times when you would laugh at things we had all forgotten.... very very hard.... also we remember you for being clean.... also we remember you for being under nourished at times... also we remember you for being from canada, although another of our members is from canada, we remember you more for that... also we remember you for other reasons... also we remember you because you are in several pictures with us.... our new drummers remember you, because they sign there name on your face on our posters and have to act as though they got a hair cut.... and dental work....

The three question marks.... we remember you exist, but we choose to forget your names, as not to hurt the memory of your glory... also you didn't have facebook.....

also there was one other drummer named david that i forgot to put in the picture.... he has facebook... so that facebook thing wasn't totally true.... but mostly.... also he is less remembered then just like a present thing, he filled in for us one gig... but he lives close by, he is kinda our fill in guy at the moment... so i am not sure he even classifies for this list, cause he really isn't not in the group.... hmmm.... this is all very tricky

DPB - 9 - Embarrassing Photo Uno

This is Joel Sellars. Bass Player and Prayer Chain Purveyor Extrodinaire. We all owe him - One hug, at least half a kiss (on cheek or hand), and probably more money than he gets. You can personally call Joel any time at 555- Nah I'm not really gonna give away his phone number.
Gee, I wish it was his birthday or something special that could justify this unwanted attention.

To Joel!

Thought of the day: Would you still be my friend if I looked like Joel does in this pic? Would I be yours? Tune in next time to find out!

DPB - 7 - Abilene Times

Photobucket

To the warm and hospitable folks of Abilene's Fountain Gate Fellowship and Amp Ministries. Mazzletoff! You are in our prayers continually. And if you recognize some of these photos, well that's because we stole several of them. We just liked them too much not to.
This rather intermittent photo blog is now in it's second week and we're glad to see that readership is at an all time high.
Thanks for the reads and thanks for the support. It's incredibly early and as a night owl, I don't know how you people do it. Y-awn. I shall cut this short in an effort to not embarrass either of us.

Thought:- "You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." - Jack London
He's an old writer, they knew what they was talkin' bout.

God bless,
Royford

DPB - 6 - The Organist

Photobucket

This particularly gratifying picture was taken in the studio right 'bout a month ago or two. The lulling tone of the organ being played by Tyler, can be heard on the second verse of 'Oh My King'. From us to you.

So, I was shaking out the crumbs from the comforter on my bed and i happened to be wearing a set of head phones that weren't plugged into anything (not a common past time of mine). As I started shaking the blanket the tiny static charges from underneath began hitting my headphones input and made the craziest little popping sounds. Like popcorn or the motorbike noises from Excite Bike for the original Nintendo. Made. My. Day.

Thought: God likes it when you relax once in awhile.

DPB - 5 - Homenaje a la Familia

Photobucket

What is up? Todays one and only blog is in homage to our dearly beloved Texas familia. Those we had to leave for greener pastures.. and stuff. Life's full of partings it seems.
This enormous black bed sheet everyone is painting happens to be our current backdrop. You will note I'm nowhere in this photo. I was bumped off the project early on for my lack of painting prowess. But not before I left an irrevocable smudge on my very first stroke... *Sigh*

In other news, our first gig at "The Hub" (which is a youth oriented coffee shop in next-door Canton, NC that is operated by Pinnacle church) went swimmingly well. They're calling the weekly shinding "The Edge" ... and as of yet there's been no lawsuit brought about by the U2 lead guitarist. We were widely received. Maximum capacity was achieved and then abused. Fire codes were definitely broken. And in its first night we successfully outgrew the coffee shop venue and will be moving the gatherings to a nearby local theater.

Thank you for all the prayers and support, we are incredibly excited to be part of this ministry.

I leave you with this quote from somebody else to suffice as a Thought of the Day:
"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for."- John Shedd

Ps - This is a shout out to Nellie, Sarah & Elizabeth and Matt wherever he is. Thanks for existing!! :)

DPB - 4 - Best Photo Blog Thusfar (?)

Photobucket

Because I got left out of the new profile picture... yeeargh. Aaand maybe because I couldn't think of anything clever-er. This photo was taken at Flint Rock Studios while recording the 2 tracks we currently have on our player. Compelling.

Thought: What if you weren't?
