NEAR THE PARENTHESIS "L'EIXAMPLE" Near the Parenthesis follows up 2007's "Of Soft Construction" with "L'Eixample," Tim Arndt's most focused work to date. L'Eixample draws on inspiration gained during travels through Barcelona, Spain. Of particular interest was the innovative and sometimes peculiar modernist architecture of the L'Eixample district. In Catalunyan, L'Eixample literally means an extension, a strong symbolic parallel to the music found on Arndt's latest work which itself reflects an extension of the Near the Parenthesis' sound. While this collection begins where "Of Soft Construction" left off, it quickly migrates to an even calmer and more atmospheric experience. Through L'Eixample, Arndt has moved closer to an an emotional apex and provides even greater melodic rewards. released on n5MD and available August 19th, 2008.
BITCRUSH "SHIMMER AND FADE" Originally released in 2005, 'Shimmer and Fade' was a limited time download EP from n5MD's sub-label En:peg Digital. Within its forty-eight minutes, bass and guitar arose from the background to a place of prominence and carried the EP's melodic content. This change in form represented an important period in the natural evolution of the Bitcrush sound, a time that found Mike Cadoo transitioning from his post-industrial and IDM beginnings found on Enarc to the more ambient/post-shoegaze direction of 'In Distance.' After years of requests to bring Shimmer and Fade back, n5MD has chosen to re-release it as a re-mastered CD which contains four extra tracks not found on the original EP. Limited to 1000, this release will serve as a time capsule of what was yet to come. Released on n5MD and available August 19th, 2008.

LIGHTS OUT ASIA "EYES LIKE BRONTIDE" Once a band has developed a sound that is undeniably theirs it can be difficult to push beyond those confines and expand the sound into new territory. Lights Out Asia set out to do just that and have succeeded in writing a record that was as much a sign of the times as it was an expansion of their aural bubble that has been their watermark. They have been called ethereal, post-shoegaze and sleep-rock, but on their third full length "Eyes Like Brontide" the band slides into a darker more ominous and less lucid dream than on previous efforts. The release is a stylistic shift from the sweet lullabies of their debut "Garmonia" (Sun Sea Sky) and the electronic drum driven post-shoegaze of 2007's "Tanks and Recognizers" (n5MD). The song dynamics on the album deserve special attention. For the first time in Lights Out Asia's history they have gone for broke with some of the most epic drum machine driven post-rock this side of the Pacific along with solemn disconnected passages of dream nourished sonics. The occasional floating vocal and dusty winding guitar they are known for are still present, but "Eyes Like Brontide" brings a whole new dimension to the Lights Out Asia ethos. Most importantly, the band has expanded upon its sound without throwing away the original blueprint or alienating it's fanbase. "Eyes Like Brontide" is recommended for fans of Hammock, Bitcrush, Robin Guthrie and Manual. Released on n5MD and available August 19th, 2008.

PANIC LIFT "WITNESS TO OUR COLLAPSE" Absolutely essential, Panic Lift's sophomore effort after the EP Dancing Through the Ashes is a monumental collection of songs, nearly any of which could stand on their own as singles. With the concussive force of a runaway supercollider, Panic Lift exploded onto the industrial music scene in 2006, and they instantly careened to the forefront of the NYC industrial music scene. Word of mouth and their live shows across the Northeast and California saw the debut EP quickly sell out, leaving fans waiting in anticipation of a full-length album. And now Hive Records is pleased to release Witness to Our Collapse, a masterpiece of storming beats, memory-searing hooks and flawless production.
Equally destructive on the dancefloor as it is with more reflective listening, this album is a testament to the ideology that industrial music can be both agressive and epic, as well as carefully crafted. The songwriting transcends the repetitive, predictable cliches of current cookie-cutter releases in the hard electronic scene and proves that the future of industrial music is here, and it's going to kick you right in the fucking face.
Pounding, chestplate-stomping beats and pulsing throbs of bass send convulsions through your body, while the razorwire synth lines and emotive fragments of piano and guitar pull a wicked smile across your face. Featuring more than a couple of surprises, this is not an album to be missed, and will set the bar irretrievably high for other acts in the EBM and electro-industrial scene. Released on Hive and available August 26, 2008.

GENCAB "II TRANSMUTER" Defying and redefining the conventions of electronic music, genCAB presents his explosive, brilliant debut on Hive Records, II transMuter. Flawlessly meshing glass-sharp shards of glitchy industrial aggression with delicate melody and painfully personal vocals, genCAB reconfigures fragments of trance, EBM, and distorted IDM into a whole new genre.
II transMuter is the new evolution of industrial music, a rewired and genetically enhanced archetype that gives a nod towards forbears such as Gridlock, NCC and Haujobb, then fiercely breaks free from all points of reference, spraying a swarm of chest-kicking rhythm and complex electronics in all directions. But this album is also a meshwork of emotions and synthetics, a liquid amalgamation of torn-open human emotion, brutally honest lyrics, and a shrieking heart at the center of it all. Reconfiguring the tired mechanics and flawed engineering of modern industrial music, II transMuter is a new breed of divergent electronic dance music and an absolutely stunning debut by genCAB. Released on Hive and available August 26th, 2008.

C/A/T "THE GREAT CRISIS" C/A/T takes another step forward with this amazing new concept CD: The Great Crisis.
A soundtrack to an unfilmed scientific disaster, fans of C/A/T's earlier work like The Prisoner will enjoy this as well as those turned on to the more dancable fare of the ATF and Point of No Return CDs. This fully instrumental disc explores C/A/T's range of styles from very different perspectives, with music reminiscent of everything from Front 242's legendary Tyranny For You to idm-inspired rhythmic noise, yet all with a unique twist.
Accept no substitutes, and accept no (l)imitations-- C/A/T is back with another intense, contagious release. Released on Crunchpod and available July 15th, 2008.

SYNDIKA ZERO "THE EXAMPLE" [syndika:zero] is a project which began in late 2006 by L1f3g1v3r as a means to draw together influences of the Dark Electro and IDM genres. The music of [syndika:zero] is laced with a thematic element heavily steeped in true crime that has been injected with copious amounts of agression and anger towards a society, generation, and culture which seems to no longer value it's own existence - and in turn, exploits and victimizes those around them while devouring any vice within arm's reach. Available July 15th, 2008.
NOVALIS DEUX "GHOSTS OVER EUROPE" It has been more than 3 years and it took a huge amunt of artistic effort and studio work - but now it is done - the new album of NOVALIS DEUX is finished. After the CD "Paradise...?" had convinced both the fans and the critics, the new CD "Ghosts over Europe" is a masterpiece that stands for the increased musical und artistical skills NOVALIS DEUX can again convince with. Still being DarkFolk at its base, the band mixes lots of genres creating a CD that cannot be put into any single genre at all. Songs like "Sleeping Violin", "Homecoming", "Passing by" or "Rome" will find their place in the fans and critics minds for sure. In addition to the two main members of the band Stev (lyrics) and Marcel (keyboards) NOVALIS DEUX has two new members - Mathias (Drums) and Jojo (Piano, Guitar) who both contribute their skills to the new NOVALIS DEUX sound, which makes clear that this is a band we can expect more from in the future. It comes up with a premium copper-embossment digipac. Released on Ars Musica Diffundere and available July 15th, 2008.

SEVERE ILLUSION "ARMED EVOLUTION" After releasing in December 2006 "Common Ground" the group Instans, a talented Swedish duet, which does not fear of experiments in any fields of electronic music, prepared a material for a remix ep of their other project - Severe Illusion "Armed Evolution". The music of this Severe Illusion's release (following after their conceptual album ' Shortcut to civilization ', published in 2006), in contrast to Instans, leaves stereotypes far taken by the electro-scene and made in less dancing, but more rigid and more traditional for the old-cheek-bones rhythmical key with the elements of noise inserts. Compact disc includes 5 absolutely new tracks "I wish i was dead ', 'And some other dead stuff ', 'All my friends are dead', 'She ran away', 'Eight minutes is a long time ', and also re-worked version of one of the first hits of the group ' Trust 2007 ', + 7 remixes, one of which is made by the group itself and the rest were remixed by invited bands such as The Pain Machinery, Thirteenth Exile, Mulphia, Caustic, Spetsnaz, Barrikad. Absolute technical minimalism. The design drawing was made by the group's friend Andersom from The Pain Machinery. Released on Advoxya and available July 15th, 2008. http://www.stormingthebase.com/details.asp?ProdID=7668
IMPACT PULSE "OPTIMAL CONTRAST" Hungarian electronic workaholics have returned. Issuing every year a high-quality album (either as the basic project Impact Pulse/EBM or as the side- project Nothing Nada/future pop), the flagmen of Hungarian electronic dancing industrial - duo Cipree + Gunhead continue to rush to the peaks, not decreasing the speed while rapidly shooting by electro-hits. This time the band Impact Pulse did everything possible to follow the slogan "more fastly, above and stronger" in the aim of reaching the lath, raised by their first album. And as the album shows - this was easily reached by them. You cannot pass through the 4th song with an invited female vocal (who is not the vocalist of Nothing Nada!), making possible for the listener to take a breath in the turn of strict EBM-tracks of the remaining material. This album is simply obligated to be in the collection of each fan, who although a little is fascinated by contemporary electro. Released on Advoxya and available July 15th, 2008.

DENERGIZED "VHS RECALL" The vigorously developing motion of electronic industrial in Russia continues to pleasantly astonish by professionalism and innovation of its creative ideas. The Kaliningrad group DENERGIZED is one of the youngest groups on the contemporary electronic scene, but also unconditionally, one of the most talented. The guys work at the mix of the cold romanticism of interrelations man-machine, resembling the sound of Haujobb in the period of 1995-96 (Freeze Frame Reality). The absence of dancing drive on this disk is compensated by experimentation with the depressive and gloomy elements of contemporary world, causing analogies with Wumpscut (Mesner Tracks). The group's material was created not for the nervous people. Intelligent electro -industrial will present to you an entire spectrum of sensations with the convergence downward on the stairs, which leads into the morgue of human consciousness. Released on Advoxya and available July 15th, 2008.
***** Tearwave, Ashbury Heights, T.W.Z., The Crystalline Effect, and more!!
TEARWAVE "DIFFERENT SHADE OF BEAUTY" A year after their debut, Tearwave returns with this monumental 17 song, 77 minute CD. Overflowing with passion and motion, Jennifer's soaring vocals float over guitar glaciers, letting her words flow from a very authentic place, tapping into the darkest sides of her self.
Different Shade of Beauty's huge washes of shoegazer / indie-rock / dream-pop is driven by Doug's sweeping, gauzy guitars creating a dense musical interplay with Joe's surging bass-lines and John's insistent drum rhythms. And yet, even with the beautiful layers of musical melody, it's the ghostly ethereal soprano and dark lyrics which beckons through the tracks, like a woman lost in a wintry, foggy forest.
Much like their hometown of Buffalo, NY, these dreamy melodies can be piercingly cold at times; the beauty serves as a entrance to Jenn's lyrics which unflinchingly explore her deepest sorrows and regrets. "Shattered Fairytale" discovers the lies in life and explores thoughts of children that are never to be. "The Message " deals with suicide and false idols. "Reflection" touches upon a person's horrible self image that is in their own mind, yet effects their daily existance. And having a profound emotional effect for very different reasons, "Love Only Makes Me Weak" reflects upon the losing feeling of giving in and letting somebody have your heart.
Passionate, powerful and intense.
Tearwave blends dark waves of disintegration with shoegaze dream pop setting a mood for self-discovery. Having the listener sit back and really feel was Tearwave's main goal. Creating a shoegaze classic is what they have achieved. Released on Projekt and available July 29th, 2008.

LUX INTERNA "A LATERN CARRIED IN BLOOD AND SKIN" Lux Interna: the innermost light - an esoteric term that carries intonations of Gnosticism describes the nature of Lux Interna's music very aptly. Singer/songwriter Joshua Levi Ian Gentzke founded the group some ten years ago as an outlet for folk-inspired songs with demanding lyrics revolving around mystical topics of an existential nature. The voice of this music bespeaks a Blakean quest for the divine within this world. He is aided and abetted in this quest by his co-conspirators, Kathryn Gentzke, Katherine Trimble, Kevin Sweet, and Shane Hallinan, all adding vocal, visual and musical textures to the songs.
Lux Interna have frequently been compared to artists such as Current 93, Backworld, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. This rings true, however, not in terms of imitation, but rather in the sense of a shared spiritual and aesthetic kinship. Musically one can expect a deep, passionate male voice and a soothing, sometimes ghost-like female vocal, woven into well-crafted songs arranged for acoustic guitars, cello, keyboards, and dulcimers. Over the course of four studio releases and a row of concerts (mainly in Europe), Lux Interna has emerged as one of the most original and essential ensembles of the Dark Folk genre, although the sheer quality of their music surpasses any clichéd niches.
[a lantern carried in blood and skin] is an anthology featuring tracks from all previous Lux Interna albums. It is their first domestic release and gives an excellent overview over their musical and mystical journey thus far.
In Digipak, with 12 page booklet. Released on Projekt and available July 29th, 2008.

ASHBURY HEIGHTS "MORNINGSTAR IN A BLACK CAR" 2007's Electro Pop sensation returns! On its debut album "Three Cheers for the Newlydeads", the young Swedish duo won the hearts of critics and fans alike with bucket loads of glamour and irresistible and catchy tunes. Now, the follow-up-EP "Morningstar in a Black Car" is destined to make some waves as well. Yaz and Anders are not making the common mistake of following blindly along the lines of the success formulas of the debut album, but instead are going to great efforts to constantly evolve their versatile sound. The title track, an epic, shuffling anthem, and the pulsating Disco track "Spiders" sport the same hit-qualities as any track on the first album, while sounding even more mature and grand… and the lightly grooving "Smile" can easily match the absolute classics in Pop Music. Ashbury Heights showcase their mastery of creating songs that are instantly catchy but always have that extra sense of depth that will keep you hooked. On "Morningstar in a Black Car", the duo produces timeless Pop songs with a hint of real grandeur. Agonoize, UnterART and Marsheaux are topping off the package with club-compatible remixes and, as a special bonus, the CD also includes the classy video for "Spiders" – an enthralling visual adaptation of this thundering, yet sophisticatedly beautiful song. "Morningstar in a Black Car" will seamlessly continue Ashbury Heights' success story… glamorous anthems with a touch of class! Released on Out of Line and available July 18th, 2008.

T.W.Z. "EVOLUTION" Advoxya records should not necessary to complain about the absence of the fresh infusion of talented blood in 2008. Only two months ago was released the debut album of "the russian wumpscut" young band Denergized, and here comes the time for the new debut on label. True, for the Swedish trio TWZ the release of Evolution its not a debut in the musical plan, but after some experiments with short-lived labels and self-released materials, the group has come to the constantly growing Advoxya label bringing a well thought-out and rigid material. The swedish band, ruled by Richard K. presents a powerful impact EBM, implemented in the best traditions of the first-line troops of the assault division from Black Rain. It is screwing nails into the listeners.. head, pumping inside tons of clear electro-terror, breaking through contact protection and taking your body out of control, forcing it to move in tact by the machine gun bursts, detonated with the fire support of assault force. Released on Advoxya and available July 8th, 2008.

THE CRYSTALLINE EFFECT "HYPOTHERMIA" After releasing in 2005 their album "Glass" the Australian duet The Crystalline Effect (Elenor - vocal + texts, Pete - music) continued their selected path of the organic synthesis of all elements of actual electro, supplied with sensual vocal. After the closing of the group's previous lable - Black Flames Rec - the group was proposed a long-term cooperation with the lable Advoxya, which was amzed by the perfection of the new material prepared by the group. The issued ep serves as a forerunner of the full-value album of the group, which release is planned to the late winter - the spring 2008. Released on Advoxya and available July 8th, 2008.

*****Juno Reactor, KMFDM, Xandria, Merzbow, Fixmer/McCarthy, and more!
JUNO REACTOR "BIBLE OF DREAMS" Bible of Dreams, originally released in August 1997, showcases the transformation of Juno Reactor from a dance/trance style orientation to a focus on more aggressive thematic styles and a more diverse range of influences such as pop and world. The music still retains the high BPM's and unique custom sounds as before, but moves away from the repetitious styling associated with conventional trance acts. The drums have a varied feel that previous albums lacked and have ethnic influenced rhythms that are definitely not dancer-friendly! The vocals have a haunting tribal vibe that is best showcased in "Conga Fury", which features the South African percussion group Amampondo. The uniquely dark and raw "Komit" is featured reworked in the Matrix: Reloaded. A step away from the conventional, Bible Of Dreams is exactly what Ben Watkins was striving for when he created Juno Reactor. Previously out-of-print, the album is now being re-released so fans can once again hear the raw, uncensored sound of Juno Reactor. With a Summer 2008 European tour and the brand new album Gods & Monsters receiving critical acclaim, it's shaping up to be a monumental year for Juno Reactor. Released on Metropolis and available August 5th, 2008.
JUNO REACTOR "BEYOND THE INFINITE" Ben Watkins set out with an idea to be different, and that is exactly what Juno Reactor has always been. The first release, Transmissions, pioneered the Goa style and showed the world what trance music should sound like. Not wanting to conform, Lu.Ci-Ana was released checking in at just over an hour for just one track. Conventional? Absolutely not, and Reactor's third studio album continued to show the diversity of styles and influence with which Watkins could create an album. Beyond the Infinite was released in April 1996 and is much darker and heavier than Transmissions, but keeps the dance club accessibility of before. The first single, "Guardian Angel," has beautiful strings over an oscillating synth that draws the listener in and makes them crave more. "Ice Cube" and "Razorback" are dark, heavy on the bass, and entirely danceable. Previously out-of-print, Beyond the Infinite is being re-released to allow fans the chance to listen to an album that defined trance in the mid 90's. With the upcoming Summer 2008 tour and the brand new album Gods & Monsters just released, this looks to be THE year for Juno Reactor. Check out Beyond the Infinite, you won't be disappointed. Released on Metropolis and available August 19th, 2008.

ACUMEN NATION & DJ ACUCRACK "ARTIFACTS II: 1990-1994" As a producer, Cracknation Records founder Jason Novak began building tracks in Chicago as early as1988. Influenced by local industrial lynchpins like WaxTrax! Records, Medusa's and Exit nightclubs, and the Jourgensen camp, Novak began to sow the seeds of Acumen and Acucrack via harsh, 4/4 electronic dance music.
As guitars, breakbeats and jungle barged in over the years, these early tracks were abandoned by the time Acumen was signed to Fifth Colvmn Records in 1994 and DJ? Acucrack reared its head in 1997. However, the power of this early music (which caught the ear of WaxTrax! founder Jim Nash just before the label fell on hard times) remains fresh to this day, and we are proud to finally release 12 tracks of it, remastered.
So as time has eroded the magic of the distorted, snarling, processed sounds of early industrial dance music, as we say goodbye to Ministry and eulogize WaxTrax finally with the closing of TVT, we offer this collection of dark nostalgia, created in Chicago at a time before guitars infiltrated the mix and Hot Topic homogenized the scene... Get ready to stomp! Released on CrackNation and available July 8th, 2008.

MERZBOW "EUCALYPSE" The Tasmanian Blue Gum tree, Eucalyptus globulus, is native to Tasmania and southern Australia. Eucalyptus trees are uniquely suited to the varied ecologies of Australia, and there is no other continent more closely associated with one genus of tree. Its leaves are the food of choice of the koala, and its flowers attract bees and hummingbirds. Out of approximately 300 identified species, Blue Gums are now the eucalyptus most frequently found in other parts of the world. Throughout the tropics they are known for their ability to dry out swampy areas, making them a valuable weapon in the fight against malaria, a disease caused by parasites carried in female Anopheles mosquitos, which breed in standing water. Eucalyptus globulus was first brought to India in the late 18th century. Large plantations were establish in Kerala in 1863, but other than small amounts of oil distilling, little use has been made of the fast growing trees. Instead, they have thrived in the moist, foggy hills, spreading far across the landscape and transforming the ecosystem in the process. With their deep roots they lower water tables, depriving native species of the moisture necessary to survive the annual dry season, while the anti-bacterial properties of the "blue gum" secretions they drop on the soil further suppress the germination and growth of other plants. An ancient and intricate web of life has been disrupted, and native plants, insects and animals are being driven to extinction. Humans, who have long been a part of the local ecosystem, are adaptable and will survive, but the biodiversity of an entire region is under threat from a single exotic species.
It is truly a eucalyptus apocalypse.
It is a eucalypse.
At Soleilmoon, packaging and presentation are never overlooked. This release comes in a hand-crafted round wooden box with screenprinted swiveling lid. The box contains one CD and four full-color cards. Only 1000 copies of this handsome CD have been made, and there will be no follow-up editions released. DEATH IN JUNE "THE WORLD THAT SUMMER - EXTRAS" Available separately for the first time are the six bonus songs from "The World That Summer", re-recorded in 1989 and 2006. These tracks were last seen for a few short weeks in 2006 as the second disc in the 2xCD stone box edition of the 20th Anniversary Edition of "The World That Summer". This edition is presented in a simple but elegantly finished slipcase. Released on Nerus and available July 8th, 2008.
DOWN IN JUNE "COVERS OF DEATH IN JUNE" No slavish imitators, Sweden's Down In June deconstruct and lavishly – as well as lovingly – reinvent songs from the Death In June catalogue with their own distinctive Totenpop vision. As The Byrds were to Dylan, so Down In June are to Death In June. A very rare and surprising discovery awaits. Released on Nerus and available July 8th, 2008.

*****PROSPERO now available from Artoffact Records!!
PROSPERO "FOLIE A DEUX: THE ELEMENTS AND THE MADNESS" I have known Wade Anderson, aka Prospero, for years now and seem to bump into the man everywhere. I've seen him freak out on a dance floor to Covenant's "Call the Ship's to Port" and I also know that he loves noise and tribal rhythms. I've seen him dancing to the hardest EBM tracks at Savage Garden as well as take in one of Displacer's lovely IDM performances in Montreal. If there is someone who enjoys the variety the scene offers, it's Wade.
That is what's so great about his new album, Folie à Deux; Wade's influences are everywhere and the name of the game is variety. I hear the hammering EBM beat on "The World That I See," and I remember Wade on the dancefloor, at Savage Garden, jumping around to Grendel. I hear his smashing cover of Malhavoc's classic track "Discipline" complete with vocals by Jennifer Parkin of Ayria and think could anything possibly be more Toronto? Malhavoc, Ayria, Prospero… makes an ex-pat Torontonian teary eyed!
The album opens with "The Elements" suite, four tracks of tribal, rhythmic, experimental music, and that, too, is 100% Wade. It's also 100% great music, a perfect opening to an album from one of Toronto's great musicians. Following this is "The Madness," the second half of the album and a change in musical direction that shows the dance-floor side of Prospero. There's the techno glitch of "Techno Zombies" and the fire-breathing collaboration with Battery Cage and Terrorfakt on "Let the Planet Burn" that will have you hitting repeat on your iPod. The album closes with another Toronto act: a collaboration with It-Clings that leaves you raging against political brutality.
There is something special about releasing an album by someone you've known for so long. It's not the personal touch, though that sure is great. It's not even the ability to talk frankly together, or have a beer together, or enjoy each other's conversation from time to time. When you know someone, their art changes, and you gain something from the experience that would otherwise have been lost. There's something awesome about that. Released on Artoffact Records and available June 24th, 2008.
MONO-ANIME "INDUSTRIAL THOUGHT PATTERNS" Industrial Thought Patterns is the first album released by Mono-Amine on Vendetta Music. You can expect 8 long hypnotizing, distorted, layered and hard driving tracks with the fresh, original and powerful Mono-Amine signature sound. Industrial Thought Patterns is an highly energetic edgy fusion of pure energy, aggression and emotion. The style can be described as 'no nonsense, no compromise' raw power noise with industrial-hardcore, IDM and Teknoid influences.
Unlike average overproduced fluffy albums, Industrial Thought Patterns will hit you pure and raw, straight in the face, body and soul. It should be played at high volume, preferably in a residential area. Released on Vendetta and available June 20th, 2008.
