Moses was high when he saw that bush. Or so speculates Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem:

High on Mount Sinai, Moses was on psychedelic drugs when he heard God deliver the Ten Commandments, an Israeli researcher claimed in a study published this week.

Such mind-altering substances formed an integral part of the religious rites of Israelites in biblical times, Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wrote in the Time and Mind journal of philosophy.

Realize how silly having a legal age for everything really is, and how arbitrary it is, and how it doesn't recognize the individual as an individual, and how it's all culturally-biased ageism anyway. Forget about age limits, and do whatever you want. If you're lucky, maybe you can convince them you're too young to get arrested for doing any of the above (but don't count on it).

Either the tape is slow or the guitar is low (half step): the sounding key is B major, but the chords are from the C family

The consistent use of the F/a (x03211) chord might imply some kind of altered tuning (dropped c) or a capo, but then one might expect to hear the low bass string, which is not the case.

Auteurspresentatie.

Herman J. Claeys is taal- en letterkundige.

Geboren te Brugge, opgevoed te Brussel, universitair opgeleid te Gent (UG), nadien als boekhandelaar en vervolgens cultuurcaféhouder bedrijvig te Brussel, en tegenwoordig wonend en werkend te Antwerpen.

Als taalkundige is hij lexicograaf, variatielinguïst en taalconsulent Nederlands.

Als literair schrijver is hij de auteur van romans (uitgeverij Manteau), verhalen, gedichten, songteksten, light verse, woord-beeld-assemblages en monumentale poëzie. Hij vertaalt ook hedendaagse Zweedse novellen en gedichten rechtstreeks naar het Nederlands

Zijn poëzie is hoofdzakelijk maatschappijkritisch met thema's als oorlog & bewapening, racisme & onverdraagzaamheid, machtsmisbruik & uitbuiting, armoede & uitsluiting, verstedelijking & milieu. Hij voelt zich republikein, andersglobalist, libertair, radensocialist en "groen". Als vredesactivist is zijn literair motto "gewapendertaal".

In woord en daad ijvert hij voor de ontvoogding en gelijkberechtiging van monddood gehouden minderheidsgroepen in onze samenleving. Daarnaast is hij ook actief in artistieke non-profit-verenigingen waaronder vzw. (Stichting) Pipelines met De Muzeval. (http://muzeval.blogspot.com)

Tribute to the Muziekdoos elke vrijdag

Vanaf 2 november zal er iedere vrijdagavond een 'Tribute to the Muziekdoos'-avond worden georganiseerd in De Dolle Mol.

De Muziekdoos , met Etienne achter de bar, was jarenlang een alombekend café in Antwerpen waar muzikanten en dichters hun ding konden doen op het vrij podium. Deus, Zita Swoon en vele andere bekende en minder bekende groepen kwamen er repeteren. Er waren talloze jamsessies en Herman J. Claeys, vader van De Dolle Mol, organiseerde er de Muzeval, een maandelijkse poëzie- happening.

Vorig jaar moest deze befaamde kroeg sluiten aangezien de belastingen blijkbaar liever de kleine, bijna verlieslatende zaken viseren dan zich te concentreren op het grote kapitaal.

Iedereen is welkom om de Muziekdoos-spirit te doen heropleven in De Dolle Mol. Neem je instrumenten mee. Versterker en zanginstallatie, die trouwens jaar en dag dienst hebben gedaan bij den Etienne, staan klaar.
