We're really pleased to announce that 'Climb a Tree' was the most requested song on Head Case Radio for the month of July, usurping artists like Beck, UFO, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz & Eminem.
A BIG THANK YOU goes to Scott & Monty, for allowing us such great exposure on their station.
Our song "Why Don't You" is now officially published on Fame Games Radio and can be heard across the USA on ABC Radio Networks.

Good news! Our song, 'Why Don't You' has moved to the Fame Games Q-Show 189, scheduled for Tuesday 22nd July 2008.
Making it to the on-air showcases is a big deal because suddenly, we are being heard by a truly massive international audience!
Further advancement of a song through the Fame Games ranks depends on the degree of unanimity between reviewers and the amount of popular support, so we still need additional votes & reviews to get more airplay.
Music would be pretty meaningless on Facebook without a place where artists & fans can interact & share their music, which is why we've registered with ReverbNation & iLike.
ReverbNation is an invaluable source of information, a place to conduct the business of being a musician — including tools for distribution, merchandising, and communication.
iLike offers a service to help organize your music, share your music tastes, and discover new music through your friends. It also provides a buddy-list for your iPod.
'Climb a Tree' was the 2nd most requested song on Head Case Radio last month, beating artists such as Def Leppard, Placebo, Jane's Addiction, Primus, Jimi Hendrix, The Turtles, Prince & Yngwie Malmsteen.
To help us get to No.1, please use the banner below, click on Requests, search for strange 'a' and make a request for 'Climb a Tree' &/or 'Heart of Stone.'
We'd like to thank both DJ Meatwad & DJ Footlong of Head Case Radio for playing 'Why Don't You' on their shows.
We'd also like to thank DJ Eyebee and the wonderful Kathy May for continuing to play all our music, 24/7 rotation, on:
It was sort of inevitable, given Facebook's monster growth over the last few years, but April 2008 was the milestone: Facebook officially caught up to Myspace. Both services were attracting around 150 million people to their respective sites each month. And now, Facebook appears to have surpassed Myspace in worldwide 'unique' visitors for the first time.
Most of Facebook's present growth, however, has been in international markets.
MySpace still dominates the US market, but both Facebook and Bebo have exceeded Myspace for social networking performance in the UK.
We're very loyal to Myspace, and have even started a StrangeA Street Team, but this change in climate has encouraged us to open a Facebook account. Please click on the banner below and say "Hello!"
Potentially, this could be huge for independent internet radio - up to 105 million listeners - it's truly staggering stuff! So, if you're disenchanted and frustrated with working in an industry that keeps beating you down, this blog might inspire you to think again.
Fame Games is all about the music, the stories that accompany the triumphs, defeats and perseverance; breaking major label formulas and gaining creative/financial independence.
Good ideas can come from anywhere - anyone - at any time, and Fame Games has got it exactly right! The whole weight of ABC Radio Networks is supporting Fame Games and independent music. They've coordinated a massive effort to help Fame Games get as many radio stations as possible to air the show nationwide across America, in the largest markets from California to New York!
And this is where StrangeA comes in.
People love our quirky sound and killer hooks. 'Heart of Stone' got a superb score on Fame Games. It reached the Main Show, and only a fraction of a single percent of songs ever make it that far. 'Climb a Tree' also got airplay, which is cool, as currently, fewer than 3% make it to air.
It's also been said that we have something. That something which is the necessary prerequisite for any artist to break through. Originality perhaps, or something harder to define. But it's there.
This has inspired us to submit 'Why Don't You' for the panel of judges and listeners to peruse.
Fan participation has become increasingly important on Fame Games, so we need you to take part and support our music! The higher the number of votes, the more influence it will have on the final score. It's essential we make the most of it, as audience figures on Fame Games is about to explode!
Click on the banner below and it will take you directly to our Fame Games Page, where you can listen to 'Why Don't You' and make your vote. Click on the 'vote' button and follow the instructions. You can also leave a comment - these will be quoted on the show as fan mail. And check out the official reviews while you're there.

Hello there,
We wanted to let you know that we love internet radio! New technology is being developed all the time and, it's predicted, the industry will overtake all other listening options within 10 years. How cool is that.
So we're pleased to introduce our new friend, Bert Gagnon, who has kindly put our songs into rotation on Neon Productions Radio.
Neon Productions Radio manages the Songwriter's Network. It was one of the first 'indie only' music radio shows on the internet, so this ground floor opportunity quickly flourished. Live in-studio performances led to worldwide audiences, and the shows are now broadcast on Musictogousa.com.
They've just launched their "Requests" page, and you can request StrangeA HERE. Simply scroll down to find our tracks. A requested song will be put on top of the playlist and be played immediately after the current song. You can request 2 songs per hour, 5 songs a day. Please use their pop-up player to listen to the broadcast.
If you're interested in submitting your music to the station, use the following link: Music Submissions.
1) Being our No.1 fan 2) Placing our logo on her Myspace profile 3) Introducing her brother & niece to our music 4) Checking out 'Heart of Stone' on Phibble Radio 5) Making a BIG effort to hear our show on FatCat Radio

Our favourite 'Laura' quotes:
"The wonderful thing about your songs is, every time I hear them, I love them even more"
"Your songs deserve to be played, they're just so fun and catchy"
"I'm just having a blast listening to your music"
"I love all of your songs"
"You Guys Rock"
Yes, we are a group of friends currently making an affectionate nuisance of ourselves in Brighton.
Update on stats: over the last few months, over 5,000 people have visited our Myspace Page, increasing our profile views to over 21,000. Total Plays have nearly exceeded 19,000 (an increase of 3,000) & 'Disappointed Again' has now received over 1,000 plays.
..
Finally, check out this amazing 3D animation: Funkphonic.
We're well chuffed to announce we'll be appearing on a compilation CD, showcasing top-notch bands from the South Coast of glorious England.
It's being released by Hard Pressed Records, a new independent music label run out of Eastbourne. It's their first release, and will be used as a promotional tool, aimed at people who might not necessarily listen to the styles of music included on the CD.
They'll be giving it away at their launch party this coming Thursday, 29th May.

Hello Everybody,
Along with Kid Ego (a classic rock/metal band), StrangeA was featured on FatCat Radio, Monday 21st April, on CENTRE STAGE, a show presented by ACDCJen, at 8pm CST/2am BST.
If you missed it, The Indigo Lounge, 'Centre Stage' & The BIG Show are all re-aired throughout the day on Thursday, so there's plenty of opportunity to hear it.
Jen played 8 of our songs back-to-back = 40 minutes of voluptuous music:
Down On Me Heart of Stone Pins Disappointed Again Why Don't You Climb a Tree (remix) I Am the Winner (remix) Tears (remix)
Great thanks goes to Greg of the Electric Hippies for his remixes.
FatCat Radio has been supporting independent music via the internet since 2001. Their goal is to provide exposure for unsigned or small label artists, and give listeners worldwide (in over 58 countries), the best of today's indie music.
Jen does a CD spotlight show every Monday night, playing 1 or 2 CDs in their entirety - how cool is that!
If you're a band looking for some airplay, check the following criteria:
*The band has to be an independent artist.
*The band has to send a CD either through the US Postal Service or somehow (easily) send a copy of the entire CD with tags.
*The band also needs to promote the show! This can be as simple as reposting a bulletin or making a promo or calling on the FatCat Phone.
Jen only plays what she likes, but this includes blues, rock, metal & punk (no rap). So, if you're a band, or know of a band that's interested in sending a CD, leave a message via their contacts page.
Thank you!
FatCat Radio is FREE Live programming 5 days a week On Demand option available 24 hours a day No sign up required / No special player to download Auto Pilot feature with music from the live shows + exclusive tracks

Hello there,
Danny here.
I have ’returned’ so I thought I would write a few notes about my recent adventures.
Simon and I would like to set up the "Send us lots of Money so we can buy a recording studio in New Zealand Appeal." As you may know from reading our previous blogs, Simon and I went on a little holiday to New Zealand for a few weeks. If you haven’t been, then please try and go before you breathe your last. If you have gone and you agree that it is one of the most beautiful, peaceful, unspoilt, perfect places in all of this wonderful Earth, then you know what I’m talking about. If you have gone and you don’t agree, then you deserve to be trussed up by your nipple hair and a pack of wild possums be set upon your trouser area...you fools!
New Zealand was wonderful. We had such a brilliant time there and have many stories to tell. We did all of the usual touristy things - white water rafting, sea kayaking, etc, but just as importantly, we met some brilliant people. Some were locals and some were travelling like us, and as far as I can remember, we didn’t meet a single person who wasn’t really nice. One thing I did have a concern about, though - why do Kiwi people have a problem with understanding my name? I was on the phone to a girl trying to book a hostel for the night and the conversation went something like this:
Girl: So, can I take your name please? Me: Sure, it’s Danny Girl: Pardon? Me: Danny Girl: Did you say Dunny? Me: What? Girl: Is your name Dunny? Me: Er, no, my name is Danny. D-A-N-N-Y Girl: Oh right. Danny.
Why on earth she thought I would be named after a toilet is anyone’s guess. Needless to say, it kept Simon and my lovely lady wetting themselves laughing for a few solid hours. When we got to the hostel, she had written my name down as Donny. You just can’t win.
I bought a little travel guitar whilst out there and came up with some really great ideas, so listen out for some new songs with the words Kiwi, Possum, Island, and anything else remotely connected with the place.
Anyway, Simon and I are going to set up a PayPal account for all of you to send your hard earned cash to us, so we can run away..er I mean set up a recording studio in New Zealand. I’m sure you guys can all understand the importance for something like this as our tans are fading fast and they need to be kept New Zealand Fresh! Just send your money to:- letstrangeabuggerofftonewzealandwithmymoneywhileiworkmyasrseofftothebone@paypal.com*
I’d also like to tell you about a song that’s very close to my heart. It’s called ’Tears’ - you can hear an acoustic version of it on our music player.
This was quite a hard song to write for me but, ultimately, it turned out to be one of my favourite and proudest moments of creativity. The song has quite a simple meaning to it - it’s about me and my coming to terms with the death of my Mum, who very suddenly died 4 years ago. To say I took it badly is somewhat of an understatement, and one of the things I found really hard to do after this happened, was to be creative and write songs.
One day, I was messing around on the guitar and came up with this nice little guitar piece but, try as I might, I couldn’t come up with any lyrics or melody that were suitable for it - in fact everything I tried completely sucked! Anyway, I decided to stop trying so hard with it and just let it come to me whenever it felt like it. So one day, I’m sitting on the top deck of a bus and it just suddenly hit me. The melody and lyrics started to come out of me and, after scrabbling for my notebook and pen, I had practically finished the song in about 10 minutes.
I don’t really know where it came from, but it ended up being about coming to terms with a horrible pain and learning to move on with life which, despite my best efforts at the time, cannot be stopped, stalled, tripped up or momentarily distracted by shouting, "look behind you - it’s a monster!" and whacking it on the head with a chair leg - it just keeps going and going and going and going............
Anyway, make of it what you will - if this song speaks to you differently, reminds you of something else entirely, or you just happen to like it for what it is - a song, then that’s great. This is just my interpretation of it - just coz I wrote it, doesn’t mean I’m right.
This leads me neatly on to an announcement, promoting an acoustic gig, upstairs at the Joogleberry Playhouse in Brighton. Simon, Nicola and myself will be performing an intimate set this coming Tuesday, 8th April.
We’ll be part of the Live Acoustic Lounge Night, where 3 hand-picked, free-range, organically-grown singer/songwriters perform their material.
Doors open at 7.30pm, music starts at 8pm, and it’s FREE to get in. We’re on 2nd and will be playing a half hour set.
Address: 14-17 Manchester Street, BN2 1TF Tel: 01273 687171
If you’d like to perform, contact info@joogleberry.com or drop in a demo marked ’LIVE ACOUSTIC LOUNGE.’ The Joogleberry incorporates quality entertainment and food with attitude, under one roof in the heart of Brighton. It has a sky lit ground floor café restaurant and a magical cabaret bar with nightly jazz, flamenco and comedy; table service, global tapas and ,of course, champagne.
That’s it.
Thanks a lot one and all and it’s great to be back.
We’ll get rotation 24/7 and our music will be played every hour. We also get front page exposure. Check it out HERE.

Happy Easter Everyone,
The Fame Games Special Edition Reviewers’ Picks show has just been uploaded to the net and is available to listen on-line. This is the first-ever Fame Games show entirely dictated by selected reviewers, and ’Heart of Stone’ was kindly chosen by Martin Sherlock. Here are his reviews:
"This song really is an inspiration to me, almost Evanescence in places, but still standing on its own feet, in its own right. The band itself sounds like they’re having the time of their lives, and so am I. This song deserves to be lodged lovingly into everyone’s heads. Truly a marvel of the 21st century."
"Oooh I can feel the feistiness from here. The music is good and raw, the sound is amazing. Brilliant debut!!! Final thought, maybe this could be in the soundtrack for the next Batman film!"
Our song was an Effigy Award 2008 Finalist for both ’Best Song’ & ’Most Popular Song.’
What the reviewers are saying about ’Climb a Tree’ -
- I like this one coz it’s different and unexpected. Very Indie. - Very original sounding and different. - Strange describes this for me, but it’s a good kind of strange. I like the sound and mood. - Love the chorus. It intrigues me. A quirky & authentic song. My ears are very happy :) - I like the duet vocal concept and I love the mood and melody of that power chorus. - I like it a lot...nice duet. Very good energy and tight performance. It’s a great song.
This is where we need your help, as we’re looking for votes/comments to boost ’Climb a Tree’ and get more airplay. Please check our page HERE for details.
