LURID TV is about to launch! You can watch on the new Play TV UK platform, which rolls out across the UK in a couple of months. The set-top box will bring you a whole bunch of new channels... or you'll be able to view online if you prefer.

LURID TV brings you the best in alt. culture - music, movies, lifestyle, erotica, bizarre culture, weirdiana, and more.

We're looking for new talent right now - both as presenters and performers, and production crew, film-makers etc., as well as bands, distributors, artists and performers who want to be featured.

Our new website Lurid Girls launches

Hey everybody,

As some of you know, Striporama is taking a rest while we rejig, get ourselves ready to start up video production (spring 2008 is the plan) and expand.

As part of that, we've just launched our fabulous new alt. porn / fetish glamour / transgressive culture website LURID GIRLS - a mix of free sexy galleries, video clips and dvd/book/music/event/drink/lifestyle reviews (not to mention competitions - we have sleazy Italian horror movies up for grabs right now). We'd love for you all to check it out and hopefully get involved!

You can do this in various ways:

If you are a model, photographer or artist, why not send us pix to host in your very own gallery? Not only will you be part of the Lurid crew but it will also be a great way of cross-promoting your own websites, myspace, etc (and those of you without websites - we should talk...). Check out the site for more details of what we need.

Anyone wanting to trade links should also let us know - we're up for that!

We also need writers - reviewers for DVD, books, music, live shows, sex toys, lifestyle stuff and especially video games - cos we're all still stuck on PS1 here! We might even be able to get you free stuff, gig guest lists etc.

And webmasters - if you want to trade links, let us know - we're more than happy to! Myspace friends can also add our banners if you want. And sign up as friends on our Myspace page too.

We want to make this site a one-stop hub for all things subcultural - kinda like we did years back with Divinity magazine (before your time for most of you I guess) but it will only work if you good people get involved.

All feedback welcome (unless it's simply abuse - we have fragile egos so be constructive at least!).

After a long quiet period we are back on the venue hunt and are planning to do something early next year. No details yet but stay tuned and hopefully we will have info in the next couple of weeks!

Club Mondo Est Morte... at least coughing up blood...

Our ongoing struggle to find a venue that is right combined with our pressing day jobs in the 'exciting' world of TV means that we have to reluctantly put Club Mondo on hold for a while. Bugger.

Howwever, we hope to be back  ASAP so stay tuned. Meanwhile we hope to have some smaller events up and running soonish and will also be kicking off on other video projects too. You know the sort of thing.

It's been a while, I know. Club Mondo is currently searching out a suitable new venue to replace the late, lamented Cabaret and dammit all it's a helluva task. There have been false starts, false promises and too many falkey types to deal with. But hopefully we will have news in the next week or so.
Matters are not helped by yours truly now working full time... but I am trying to get Miss Miki to take over some of the day-to-day functions. We shall see...
Not much else to report... smut peddlers who are off to the ETO trade show next weekend should keep their eyes peeled for us and buy us drinks, food and hand over massive amounts of cash to help launch those Striporama movies...

Magnifico!

Boy oh boy... Club Mondo round 2 was some night! By far better than the first one (though with less people - maybe the lure of Big Brother was just too much for some) and, as a few people have already commented, the best night out in Nottingham! Truly magnificent performances from The Painted Lady, Baby Bones and The Fighting Cocks plus of course our regulars Miss Rhapsody Angel and The De Ville Dolls. Not to mention Dagbert Beaver Esq and DJ's Rocco Stagliano, DJ Spuff, Grantham Womack and Stiff Kittens, our splendid light, film and sound chaps Brandan, Scott and Neil, Jim keeping the door in check and of course the always glamorous Marika holding it all together and helping my body off the bathroom floor and my head off the toilet seat once it was all over - damn you absinthe, you will be my downfall eventually.
If you missed it, you REALLY missed out, believe me. The photos will be hitting the website shortly.
Sadly, it's our last night at Cabaret as the glorious venue is about to close. Bah! But we're on the case for a new home, so stay tuned...

Just to clarify - Club Mondo is going ahead on Thursday.
A few people have noticed that Cabaret have a darts player scheduled to appear that day and are understandably confused. The venue has two rooms and Mr Darts will be squeezing himself into the lower portion of the club. Of course, if he wants to comew join us, he's more than welcome. Maybe he can get up on stage and do a performance - we have lots of balloons and some game dancers...
So, to reiterate - Thurday May 18th, Cabaret, Nottingham is Club Mondo, go! go! go! Get yer asses down there...

Drained like an ipod

A busy and exhausting weekend in London this last couple of days, taking time off from Club Mondo hard sell and instead doing my bit at the Sexual Freedom Coalition conference. Kinda odd to be in some local community hall watching strippers and the like, but it was a good event. It's sad that so many battles for freedom still have to be fought, but good that we could all come together and discuss them with - for the most part - a sense of humour and fun.
The after-party was amusing too - taking place in a small fetish club (can't remember the name!) in Limehouse which seemed to be located in the middle of a disused industrial building, and where I inevitably got rip-roaringly wasted and jabbered on about god knows what to anyone who would listen. I had a good chat with the environmentalist Fuck For Forest guys - who I'd definitely want at a Club Mondo if we ever get a venue that won't be shut down just for allowing them entrance - and some other interesting people, and drooled over some hot chick with a gorgeous chest tattoo (and gorgeous chest, come to think of it...). What a life I lead, eh?
And then off to the Boogaloo where Shane McGowan was not to be seen for once and where a shocking £5.00 post-11pm entry fee covered the cost of some idiot playing nothing but Beatles and Stones tracks... and some people moan about MY DJ skiills...
And speaking of DJ's, visit the website for updates on who we have appearing. Online payments for tickets are now possible too and we still have a couple of VIP tables (front row, seating 4, 40 quid) available. Get 'em while they're hot!

The Club Mondo posters arrived today and look gorgeous... so why am I irate? Well, it seems our flyers are 'lost' according to the the couriers (Lynx - let's name and shame) and if they don't find em, we won't have any until next week.
Now, how a supposedly professional delivery company can lose a box of 5000 flyers is beyond me, but there you go.
Hopefully there will be a box awaiting me when I get home tomorrow and we can hit the town with them this weekend...
