The March hare
Errr... ok so where we been? The january gig was a good solid show.. the live show equivalent of like, say a niner, or a tenner in conkers at school. Except for the fact they had to pull the plug on us cos we ran over, so a shambolic end to an otherwise fine and robust set. Super08 had drunk a bit too much as well.. Super08 made odd mistakes.. Super08 awoke with sore head next day.
Anway we are proud to announce another hastily arranged gig.. also at the louisiana. Don't know who we're on with but insisted on playing 2nd on the bill (or "lucky pierre" to the sexually enlightened / deviant). So that should suit all grazing friday boozers. Although in the practice room there's a ton of new stuff pushin out the amplifiers like play-doh, we'll probably stick with more or less the same set we did last time.. although probably not in the same order... oh yeah, and we're dusting off "Jean".. a real S8 crowd pleaser.. so we hope you'll join us at the Louisiana, Friday March 16th to enjoy it. After me... a.. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4..
We.... Love... Yooooo....

HOWL!
Ok, we stand on a precipice.... Super08 have another gig booked in the new year. It's at the louisiana on saturday the thirteenth of january. First and foremost we hope to see y'all there. Obviously. It's on a saturday, we did that for you.
"Ask not what you super08 can do for you; ask what you can do for your super08".....
....The answer being, get a flyer, get pissed and get down.
With a mighty 2007 looming over us like a bald eagle in Monument Valley we'll admit it's been an iffy end to 2006. Practicing went to the dogs, guitarist tore a cartilage in his knee, bass player ended up in a high school musical, the drummer didn't drum and, to cap it all, the singer broke his wrist in three places taking down the curtains. Now, we're sure you'd agree - that is about the most shameful and least rock and roll list ever made. It's a disgrace and for that we're eternally very sorry.
We have though upheld our half of the bargain in a number of other ways, primarily that being writing some astonishing new riffs. Like working through a crime scene with a fine-toothed comb there's bits of chorus everywhere, fragments of lyrics on the gun barrel, traces of middle-eight on the door handle, and a burn out wreck of a verse on the railway embankment near the Box tunnel. They are however, in safe hands. we're good cops. And just as soon as we've figured which limbs fit on which torso we'll have a dirty great fat bastard of a new album.
As for how many of these tracks we play on the 13th depends on a nik miraculous recovery. As i type he's being whisked off to Lourdes in the pope mobile to pray for a healed guitar wrist.
I here by state that 2007 will include:
a new scottish prime minister
smoke free boozers
a peter andre number one
clint eastwood oscar
super08's second album.
Peas out. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Be good in this most new year.

set... go!
Wowee! Super08 on myspace huh? how very trendy? all mod cons us boys.......
No gigs booked right now, sorry to disappoint. This is being worked on, slowly but very surely. We've identified a number of targets: the wunderbar again, bath properly / probably, another friday at the louisiana (like last month's humungous outing, so humungous in fact, we even saw people dancing, yes DANCING!... Well, flailing around anyway.) London and Cardiff, two fine capitals, one awash with the welsh, the other the australians... either way we need to play them both again, very soon and preferably, very loud.
We're working hard at the moment on new songs. Loads of them. By loads I mean quite a few, which for us and our Suez-canal-like workrate, is astonishing. At times over the last few years we've made the new Wembley look like an Ikea wardrobe.... but mark my words: we have the tunes! For those at the Louie last month - you'll already (at least subconsciously, somewhere, deep down) be aware of "Your boring stories of culture etc" A loud and agressive stick of rock which goes... dah na na na na na na na na-nah nah... dah na na na na na na na na-nah nah.You remember!? Then there's "Sometimes the charm": delicate, soaring, like a David Attenborough bit about the Bald eagle, but with drums. Given it's full premiership debut at the last gig is "Eight More.." sweet & punchy, a fine song which i'm pretty sure all in the band agree is the kind of super08 song which could only come about now, after 5 years of writing incredibly complicated music; it only took somebody to say hang on a fucking minute, why don't we just write a SONG!!? And so we did. it's got choruses and chrords and a guitar solo and everything... Honest. And you'll hear it soon. There's a couple of new songs in D. Well one in D and one in guitar "drop D" and played with a capo. One's dancey, and one's heavier than Vanessa Feltz, riding an elephant on mars. There's an ending on it none of us can play yet either. So at the practice last night we just said "right, there's only eight of these bars... so we all end on the eighth one right? .... So nobody play anything after the eighth time we do that heavy bit...." I think it works. There's two crackers on the way too, neither of em got names either. I'll explain what they go like here soon, suffice to say that they are both ace. Of course
We're talking about recording in the new year, who knows where or when, but we'll probably commit any three of these rumblings to DAT tape, and bang them on the website for your enjoyment.
Despite what you've seen here tonight, violent crime is still a very rare occurrence. Do sleep well, don't have nightmares.
Be good. super08 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
