Awesome!!!!
Category: Quiz/Survey
Your Score: House Targaryen 63% Dominant, 81% Extroverted, 54% Trustworthy Ancient. Noble. Passionate to the point of insanity. Transcending lesser beings, you are of House Targaryen.
You are a dominant personality—in fact, you are the most dominant of all eight house types. You will not suffer yourself to be ignored. You will not suffer yourself to be ruled. The phrase "I will not suffer myself to _____!" was practically made for you. You are willful, arrogant, and exceedingly dangerous to screw with. With a temper like yours, anyone stupid enough to saunter into your line of fire won't soon forget their mistake.
You are also extroverted, which means that everyone in the world knows exactly what your intentions are. Unlike your cohorts (who hide behind smiles and courtesies and court politics), you think of it as your birthright to come riding in on an enormous dragon, breathing fire and fucking your siblings. Hey, what you lack in subtlty, you make up in style!
Finally, you are trustworthy. Your absurd amounts of power and borderline psychosis are not used unjustly. Unlike many, your general aims are just and true. You we bred for rule, and the fact that you cannot rest until you are doing so is not your fault. If you make up your mind, it becomes reality. Never one for empty threats or vainglorious lies, you can only speak the truth. And the truth is "fire and blood."
Representative characters include: Daenerys Stormborn, Rhaegar Targaryen, and Viserys Targaryen
Similar Houses: Baratheon, Lannister,and Tully
Opposite House: Frey
When playing the game of thrones, you play it to the death.

Sippy Cup
Category: Life
Upon reflection, my first mistake, like probably that of most men, began with altruism. It was the middle of the night and I heard the baby crying pitifully through the baby monitor. I thought to myself. "Self", Says I, "The baby is crying." "Yeah", Says my tired man brain. "Get stuffed." "Self, if you was to get up and give the baby her juice and change her diaper, the girl might like it." "Yeah". Says my still very tired man brain. "Get stuffed." "Self!" "Yeah?" The response was sleepy now. "Think about, how shall we say, the benefits." "Ooooh." I got up. I got the sippy cup. I entered the tired, crying, child's bedroom. There was entirely too much light, and the child was entirely too thirsty. I was tired, so everything was a little "too" something. I changed the child. Figuring in my tired way that damp pants means a damp diaper, and that can't be too comfortable to sleep in. Besides, I told myself, when I relate the story to the thankful girl in the morning, changing the kid makes me look better. More like a hero. We'll get to that part. Midnight juice and diaper changing duty done I tucked the newly pajama changed, diaper changed, juice filled girl into the crib. She promptly began to cry. I wasn't sure if this was worth the hassle, reward or no. I took the sippy cup, and went back to bed. On my way back to the bed, something curious happened. Just as I was approaching the bed, to put the sippy cup on the bedside table beside the baby monitor, the alarm clock, the water jug and the woman, (before scarpering back to my warm side of the bed and turning off my brain for a few more hours) she woke up. She must have slept, much like I intended, through the part where I got up and got out of bed, and stumbled out of the room, and stubbed my toe and cursed and did my heroic midnight baby changing. She must have slept well, and still thought I was beside her. Because the look of horror that crossed her face, thinking I was an intruder, was classic. She clutched the bed, shrank back, and inhaled. Loudly. You know the sound that girls make when the chainsaw wielding psychopath jumps out at the lone escaping hero near the end of the horror movie, right when you know he will and anticipation has been building for minutes on end? (Ok, that's the sound I make, the girl normally screams.) That's what she did. Loudly. "Hmmmmmmmmmmph!, Says she, shrinking back. "Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!" Says I, Frightened by her overly enthusiastic intake of breath. That's right, I screamed. Then I made the worst mistake my overtired, overstressed, fight or flight animal/lizard hindbrain could have made. I did the only thing I could. I threw the sippy cup at her.

Baker Drive Sold! Bastardos!
Current mood: grumpy
Category: Life
The house we were looking at on Baker Drive sold. Craptastic.
It was the one Sami and I both liked the most. We won't be getting that one. We still have a list of 5 or 6 places to look at though - but none of them are ones we wanted as much as the one on baker.
All I can say is...
Damnit! Damnit! Damnit!

Could be moving!
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Life
Sami got pre-approved for a mortgage. We're looking at houses, and have a couple that we're going to go look at tomorrow.
She's pretty serious about buying - and I'm pretty impressed by the idea. She is going to mortgage the property on her own. I'll pay her rent that she can use to help pay the bills. Maybe one day, assuming things continue down the road they're going now, we'll remortage or whatever it is to have my name on it. Right now, we've not been together long, and buying a house together is too soon. Sam can afford it on her own though, so she's going to go that route.
The house on Robin Rd. (near J&L) doesn't seem to be for sale now (even though it's sign is still up), and is a little out of our price range. We've found a place on Baker St. near where we are now that we like. Small backyard but 2100 Sq. Ft. up and down with a partial basement. It's old, but it looks like it would be a good first house and learning experience. Lots of chances for me to exercise my growing handyman muscle. Never thought I had that one until this year.
I'll keep you all posted anyway. For now, here's a link to the MLS listing for the one we like the most. Clicky. The other one's we're looking at are here and here.
The last one was sketchy at first, but once the entryway on the side is torn off, the front yard is fenced and the vehicles of the current occupants are gone, it has definate potential. It comes with appliances and has a full suite in the bottom, which we could reno into more usefull space, remove the kitchen and keep the bedroom and bathroom already there. The more I think about it, the more it becomes a potential good second to the first one.

WTB New Blog - PST
Current mood: optimistic
Category: Web, HTML, Tech
WTB server space for two new blogs. PST. (WTB = want to buy in MMO terms. PST = please send tell - a private whisper, again, in MMO terms. [MMO - Massivly Multiplayer Online] )
I have two new blog projects in mind. One is moving my blog over to a new blog, using Wordpress or something similiar. For my inspiration, check here. I'm also planning on plugging library thing into my blog to make my library searchable. Also inspired by James. I've been working on an excel spreadsheet, but I think library thing will work better. I can tag things with stuff like [1st edition] [ARC] and whatnot. I can tag thing with publisher, year published, and whatnot as well, so that I can generate lists based on what publisher I own the most of etc.
The second idea is building a book review blog. Review 1 book a week for a year, and see how it goes. I'd like to put minimal advertising on that page, see if I can generate enough interest and readership of these books to make it worth my while. I'd like to eventually be able to tell an author to send me an ARC (advance reader/review copy) of their book for inclusion in my review blog. Yeah, pipedream right? But possible. I've generated almost 3000 reads of this blog in the last year, and it's only my random crappy personal blog. If I was trying to publish a regular review blog, and get the word out about it, it could be workable. I'll have to see.
So - if you want to donate me some server space )not a ton, need to host some images and text) send me an email at suprspi AT gmail DOT com. I probably need SQL, APACHE and PHP installed.
If you're willing to help me with reviewing books, or have a book you want to send me for review, email me as well. I'll be putting some sample reviews up on this blog in the next little while. Let me know what you think. Vote with your comments and kudos. (Yes, you have to sign up to myspace to do that.)

My Myspace Blog is beginning to Suxor
Category: Web, HTML, Tech
I wrote a post yesterday about how my myspace blog was beginning to suck. About how it was sometimes hard to log in, how sometimes it doesn't work at all, and how every once in a while it "eats" one of my entries.
That wasn't my reason for not posting for a couple of days, making my 30 in 30 that much harder.
Now it is. I made a post yesterday - and it's not here anymore. It must have been here for a bit because it popped up in my RSS feed, but it's gone now.
Damn Myspace.
So - I'm on hold waiting for tech support. That's what you do when you're a computer technician. You watch little blue and green bars slowly march across the phosphorescent surface of a computer monitor and you spend time on hold to tech support.
Upcoming entries. Mini review of Eragon. Mini review of the Temerier Series. Mini review of my vacation, including the story of seeing a six foot leprechaun on Gov't St in Victoria on St. Patty's Day.
Mmm....the upcoming entries sound so tasty, I can't wait to make them.
PS. Excess Radio, who I used to work for, is having a fundraising event this weekend. There is going to be some awesome music, and DJ Elliya (my favourite, though there are lots of second favourites) is going to match donations made to the station. So tune in, and if you like the music, vote with your paypal, and help them pay their streaming bills.

I want a little coffee bookstore...
I went for a walk last night. Snapped a pic of the legislature building all covered in pretty lights. I have no conference stuff on Saturday and I'm here until sunday, so I'll be a regular tourist tomorrow. It's raining.
Last night on my walk I wanted to find a starbucks. I figured a Chai Latte would go down well after my dinner. I found a starbucks, but I also found a little coffee shop that was tied to a bookstore.
In the bookstore I found all sorts of books, and one I've been looking for, for about 12 years. It's by Alan Dean Foster, it's called The Hour of the Gate. Sequel to Spellsinger.
ADF is one of those Sci-Fi writers who is willing to toss a little comedy into his work, although the overall topic is usually just as serious as ....
nah. Not going to overanalyze it. It's about an university student in the 70's who gets sucked through a portal to meet a talking walking turtle wizard and an otter who is half as tall as a man and takes insults easily, and waves a sharp pointy rapier around. If I remember correctly.
Anyway - time for a shower and some breaky - then Lexmark training. Word on the street is they're giving away free 1GB lexmark thumb drives. I have a Jacket I got yesterday. And the Cranberries are on the radio.
Morning is truely here. Lexmark training, I will pwn you.
PS. If you are ever faced with the decision of choosing either a starbucks or a little tucked away coffeeshop/bookstore, choose the latter. Maybe someday I'll be the guy behind the till making your latte and suggesting a good read to you.
Word.

Every day has it's own challenges.
Category: Life
Ok. I'm at my hotel. Got through my first night here.
I had a roommate last night. One of my coworkers has a place here in Victoria, but since we got in late he elected to stay at the hotel since the room was originally booked for the two of us. So.
Wow.
He snores. I didn't get to bed until midnight, and getting up at six means that's not alot of sleep. However, when you're waking up every half hour to the second loudest snoring I've heard in my life - well - it's even less sleep.
So I'm tired this morning, but I did get to go have a swim in the pool, relax in the hot tub, and sit in the sauna. It was nice, it had just been turned on, so it was warming up, and about as hot as a good summers day when I left - not crazy hot yet.
I'm going to go find some sort of crazy fancy breakfast here since I don't know anywhere else to go get it - waffles with compote or eggs on crab cakes or something. The restraunt is a little fancier than what I'm used to, but the food looks very good (it always does in pictures) and it's not crazy expensive, at least for breakfast. Dinner however is another story.
More updates later, time to find food and how to get sorted for this conference. Lenovo and Lexmark training here I come. I will pwn you!

30 in 30
Current mood: excited
Category: Writing and Poetry
Since some of my favourite bloggers are doing it, I've decided to do it as well. Yeah, I'm a bandwagon jumper, what can I say.
30 posts in 30 days. I originally didn't think I'd be able to as I'm going on a business trip today, but since Sam got me a laptop to take with me for web surfing and free voip calls, it'll work.
Here is where I'm staying. Woot.
Here is where I'm going to write something. A further post coming on it soon.
I'll clarify - it should be >30 in 30 - I'll write at least one post a day for the next 30 days. I may do more than one post a day, each post may or may not count as reaching the minimum at my discretion. Thus, if i'm a slacker I have a way to justify it.

Puking Baby
Category: Life
So - I'm on my way home a little bit early. Sam picked up Ivy from daycare as she is projectile vomiting. Mmm..sounds fun - vomit. (And me without my spoon!)
Looks like a fun weekend upcoming.
Just cause I quoted from it.
"When you see a hearse go riding by,
You know you'll be the next to die.
They'll wrap you up in a bloody sheet,
and throw you under six feet deep.
The worms crawl in, and the worms crawl out,
the worms play pinnochle on your snout.
The puss flows out like whipping cream;
and me without my spoon. Yum!"
