I am so excited for this coming Saturday! I have wanted to be a part of something like this ever since I can remember learning about atrocities and the lack of action our government takes towards resolving them. I laugh at the thought that this could be a new found path in my life, because I never would have expected it, but I can't see myself letting go of this after just one night. Because the war certainly won't be over after just one night. Apathy and indifference kills. We learned that in WWII after Hitler exterminated 9 million people.

AFTER.

HE.

KILLED.

9,000,000.

PEOPLE.

I don't want to wait until after the CHILDREN have been killed to hear the world say that it was wrong and that it never should have happened. IT IS WRONG NOW! IT IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY NOW! And something has to be done NOW!

I'm excited to see what I'm going to have to say on Monday!

Asshole of America Award

So we've seen it all in the news lately...immigration and it's "problems" and to be completely honest with you, I am on the fence on this one politically and to be even further honest, I'm not really writing this to debate the issue. I am writing this, because I think that there are some real assholes out there in America. The kind of ignorant bastards that don't have an f-ing clue as to what the issue is and/or who's to blame, but instead find satisfaction in being a complete and utter asshole to a total stranger! So here's my story:

While out running errands on my lunch break yesterday, I'd decided to stop into Rubio's for some grub. For those of you outside of SoCal, Rubio's is a great little fast food restaurant based out of Baja that is known for it's amazing fish tacos and it's unyielding pursuit of "healthy" fast food.  The restaurant was pretty empty as it was about 2 in the afternoon (yes, on the late side, I know, I told you I was shopping!) and the woman behind the counter (who was not Hispanic as far as I could tell, but was the shift manager) took my order. (It was a quesadilla...I know you were dying to know!)  I went to the salsa bar to get....okay, well, salsa...and a guy walks in the door behind me.  He orders two of their incredible fish tacos from the shift manager for "dine in" and goes around the corner to sit and wait for his food.  Once I had obtained my fabulous salsa (3 mild and one green....yes, I know you care) I went to the counter because I'd heard them call an order up and I wanted to see if it was mine.  I see a "to go" bag on the counter and peer in....I see two tacos, no quesadilla and looked up to see the other customer looking at me like I was crazy for touching his bag. I did not touch his food mind you, but I apologize and tell him, "sorry, thought that was mine", figuring the guy might be a little "Monk"-ish (you know, the TV show...OCD guy....anyway).  The female shift manager had gone into the kitchen after taking both our orders and a latino employee (who looked like another shift manager, certainly not a regular part of the cleaning crew) came out to start sweeping behind the counter.  Fish taco guy looks in his bag (probably making sure I didn't do any vodo on it!) and then looks up a the guy behind the counter and says "Can I ask you a question?". The guy behind the counter says sure and the next words out of the customer's mouth was, "I was wondering why you were playing Mexican music in here" as if he's wearing a sign that says Store DJ!   The employee looks around the restaurant confusedly and then reply's, "Well, sir, this is a Mexican restaurant and so I assume it's part of the atmosphere." Then the jackass customer says to him, "Well, I was just wonder because last time I checked I thought we were in America!"  While observing this little tantrum, I can't help but want to punch the shit out of the jackass and unfortunately, my brain to mouth filter had temporarily shut off and I muttered, "What an asshole!"  The employee looks up at me and smiles while grabbing the guys receipt and very politely telling him, "Well, sir, there is an 800 number you can call and speak to someone about it if you'd like"...pointing to the receipt that says, "Comments? Call...." with a deliciously sweet smile on his face.  Clearly the dumbass asshole is not one for subtlety and continues on with, "Well, we're in America and in America we speak English!" I seriously think he thought the guy could go change the music....like it's on a radio station or something and you can just move the dial. So the employee repeats himself about the 800 number and the jackass leaves with his "dine in" fish tacos.  Then my order comes up and as the employee is bagging it, I feel the need to apologize for the asshole....not for any reason other than that I seem to always find myself apologizing for random assholes. The guy was so great...even though he now had a perfect opportunity to go off on about this jackass to a sympathetic ear, all he says is this, "Yeah, well it's Monday and some people just have bad Mondays."  Patience of a saint!  So I leave with my yummy quesadilla and walk out to my car and as I'm putting the key in the ignition I look up and see him, this years winner of the Asshole of America Award or the AAA as I like to call it, sitting in his car eatting his fish tacos all by his asshole self!

Now for my favorite part...the ironies of the moment:

I love the fact that this guy had come into a Mexican restaurant to order Mexican food and yet is boggled by the fact that "Mexican" music is playing! If he doesn't like the culture, then don't eat the food! Go find a McDonald's and eat a patriotic double cheesburger and fries next time, dick!

If I must be completely truthful...it wasn't even fucking Mexican music!!! It was pop music with Spanish lyrics, which anyone who's ever listened to "Mexican" music will know what I'm talking about....real vatos play real Mexican music...as my friend Shannon likes to refer to it..."you know, sounds a little like polka...."

It kills me that the asshole assumed this guy to be Mexican...as if that's the only Latino country out there! I don't know about you, but if my memory from Spanish class serves me correctly there are like 20 Spanish speaking countries...the employee could have been from any of them or none of them for crist sake! He spoke perfect fucking English...he could have been born here...and what the hell does it matter you ignorant biggot, he's not the one that picks the music!

 I'm surrounded by a wall of mirrors reflecting the images of those around me, calling out their vicious, hateful names until it fills my ears and overflows, until I can hear nothing but my piercing scream and shattering glass, and then silence.

And the nothing overwhelms me and I can't see myself anymore and all I can remember and all I know is what the reflections in the glass told me, showed me and I become what I saw. I become what they made me, what I allowed them to make me. All that I'm not.

I kiss your chin and trace the curve of your neck down to 

                                    your chest.

I feel the patter of your delicate heart beating away under my finger tips.

I brush my lips over your shoulder, down to your muscular arm, that flexes to pull me closer.

I close my arms around you and gently rub your back.

I press my body to yours to feel warm, safe, and secure, feelings that aren't there when you're not holding me.

I kiss your eyelids and feel the softness of your lashes

flutter against my lips.

I follow the graceful curves of your body, watching in awe as your muscles contract and then relax.

Your chest falls and rises under me and makes me want to be the air inside your chest.

I drift like a broken piece of wood in the open sea, trying to find my ship to hang on.

I try boat after boat, but yet to no avail, I just end up breaking the other pieces by trying to fit in.

Where do I belong? Where do I go from here? I've been to every ship, I've checked every hole.

Maybe I belong on my own little private dock. A dock not connected to anything in particular, just a boatless dock in a dried up ocean.

At least I don't have to pretend, I have no one but myself.

How We Met...From Natters!!

Andie- I met Nicole when I thought someone called her Naked lady on the bus... I swear Naked Lady, that's what I heard... and the nickname was born!

Jeff - I met Andie when she was born 17 years ago. Plus she's my cousin so I've known her since she was born.

Kameron-I met Jeff in my algebra class...Good times...lol...

Mae- I met Kameron in Mr.Collin's 4th blockl history class. i found out she was from larkin (the best school ever) we started talking and hit it off. we worked on a coiple group projects together and talked a little after that. She's a lot of fun!!!

Molly- I Met Mae In Mrs. Petersons Fourth Grade Class woot woot! Best Class ever!! she was my bestest friend untill 6th grade and then she moved away from me =[

Jenny- I met my Mollers, Hmm wow. In 8th grade at the school play BACKSTAGE!! And then we became very close friends when we went to Larkin in lunch and in acting class!!


Matt- I met Jenny through my ex-girlfriend, we used to not get along at all, but now we're cool. Hey Jenny


Jackie- I met Matt a loooong time ago at Beatrice. We werent like the best of friends, but we got along. He was pretty cool!!

Jenna- I met jackie through sarah in lunch woop lunch rocked hahahaha. now we are best buddies woo

Sarah~lunch really did rock. arent u glad i was there??? i know you are. anywho, i met jenna... at lunch. but i dont remember how i even ended up at that table. i didnt know anyone there befor then. hummm... but yeah, i just met her at lunch.

Jessa.*- I met Sarah threw cheerleading in the 7th grade, and we both started talking to eachother when we found out we were both tied for captian of the cheerleading sqaude. HaHa yeah what a fun story.. And since then we have had chorus together and stuff.

Tasha~ Jessa knew my ex zack..so i added her..

Ch3lsii- i met tasha at one of the 7th grade rec nites n we didnt get super cool untill now =) but shes great friend n i love her n miss her =)

Tammy-- aww I've known Chelsi since forever! Me and her sister used to be good friends so I knew her since she was 5 lol shes a gazillions times cooler now though hehe


JESSICA -- I met her on MySpace. She's my cousin's friend. BUT she is way more cool-ER than him. DUHHH. && she seems really cool&stuff.. mmhm.


sheri- i met jessica in the [?] spring of 4th grade [or summer] i dk how, but i was like.. heeeeey.. dat girl is ASIAN like moi! lol.. & she was hella coooool =] uhmm, like the first time we actually hung out was in her front drive way, and i had a golfball in my hand & i accidentally threw it and it just so happend to hit her, and den i was like.. oops sorryyyyyyy. shes like YOU HIT ME! hahahha, dass somethin we both remember. haha

Soch- It was this year in concert choir when you and Kera started talking to me. Though I didn't learn your name till much later. Nothing to exciting there, except I said Freshman always are annoying, and then I learn that both of you are Freshman, I thought you were both Sophomores! Go figure.

Liz - Found an add for a cheap ass room to rent in a house in La Mesa when I met Natalie (okay, Shannon, and Winter too!) and I was taking over for Winter. Miss seeing and hanging out with Nat every day (and Mickers too!!!), but I must admit...I don't miss the "rat" house all that much!
