I love sushi! Especially my favorite "Imperial Roll", a combination of salmon, asparagus, and cream cheese. Since I moved to LA, there is one place that I frequent and love. I became friends with the owners, and if you visit there, you will see my autographed headshot on the wall along with others. I have always been thrilled with their service, and their food. As of last Saturday, I'm not too thrilled anymore.Saturday afternoon, after a day of shopping at Pam Anderson's estate sale and sunning on the beach in Malibu, I had a craving for sushi. As usual, I ordered and had it delivered to my home. It came very quickly, as always. I ate two pieces of the Imperial rolls. Funny taste. I ate a third piece, and it wouldn't go down. It tasted as though the salmon was swelling in my mouth. I immediately felt like I was going to vomit if I swallowed the roll, so instead I spit out the remainder. Almost instantly, I WAS sick. I threw out the rest of the order, and laid down. That is where I stayed for the remainder of the weekend, and by Monday morning I was violently sick. I stayed home from work, much to my dismay. I love my job and hated that I was not there to pull my weight. Tuesday morning, although I was still sick and could not eat a single thing, I did go in to work. My time there alternated between doing my job and visits to the restroom. By 2 pm, I felt like I was going to die! I hadn't had a thing to eat since the sushi, and the water I was trying to drink to keep hydrated was going right through me. At the advice of my friend and coworker Laila, I decided to go to the emergency room.I went to Kaiser Permanante Hospital, right down the street on Sunset from my office. I was surprised to be seen immediately (in Tampa, it usually took an average of 3-4 hours to be seen!), but was grateful. After checking my vitals, they quickly inserted an IV into my arm and began giving me the liquid, electrolytes, and nutrients that I desperately needed. Not fun, but after an hour or so, I felt like life was coming back into me. I was there for a very long time, and finally was released with two prescriptions. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent treatment I received at the hospital.I came home and did as I was told, to rest and drink plenty of fluids. But my stomach was still making me miserable. I couldn't sleep that night, or any night since eating the sushi. I was so miserable and exhausted. I missed work Wednesday again, but all the while hoping that I could return to work today. After all, I thought, I have two strong prescriptions that should be working their magic. I finally ate something last night, a banana as the doctor had suggested. Without being too graphic, let's just say it went right through me. Today I did have to miss work again. I have yet to eat anything substantial, and I am so hungry! I feel like I should be ten pounds lighter (and wouldn't that be wonderful!). I am so tired of laying around, of being sick, of taking meds, of being hungry. I must say that food poisoning is one of the worst things I've been through, and I've been through a lot! On the bright side of things, if in fact there can be a bright side to this....the owner of the sushi place has offered to file an insurance claim for me, to repay me for the medical bills, the work missed, the mental strain of the whole experience. It is for that reason that I will not mention the name of the restaurant in this blog (but if I here any of you saying you're going there, I will warn you). I'd also like to thank some special people for the beautiful get well flowers on my dining room table!I'm hoping that I am well enough to get back to work tomorrow. And I'm hoping that if I ever talk about going for sushi again, someone will just shoot me! ;)
For those of you who live in the Los Angeles area, here is something unique to do this weekend!Pam Anderson is having an estate sale at her Malibu beach house this weekend. Lots of great stuff up for sale, and it is being filmed for her new reality show! The sale continues today and tomorrow, from 8 am until 4 pm. All you have to do is park at Malibu High School and take the shuttle to her house. No walk ups or street parking is allowed.I'm on my way to Malibu. After all, how often can you go to a celebrity's garage sale??!!Hope to see you there!***UPDATE***So I spent the day in Malibu, first at the garage sale, and then laying on the beach enjoying the sun and waves. What an awesome day! I bought a gorgeous embroidered, beaded sweater that belonged to Pam (and yes, I will wear it), and also two tennis rackets that belonged to her boys. The tennis rackets had each of the boy's names on them. But even more special, not only did I get to see Pam, but the boys, too. What doll babys they are, and they look just like miniature Tommy Lees! It warmed my heart to see them again, it's been a few years (I last saw them when Tommy invited me to a concert and they were backstage.). It was a very unique, interesting, fun day. I'll try to get the photos up here soon.
We’re in need of 15 or so extras tomorrow, Friday, March 22, from 6 pm until 8 pm (or so) in Hollywood.
You’ll be on set for one of the many shows we have in production.
I’m not at liberty to say WHICH show, but you WILL have a fun time, and you WILL get free drinks! (Sorry, no pay for this one, but I wouldn’t exactly call free drinks NOTHING! LOL)
If you are interested in participating, please contact me immediately! 15 spots will fill up quickly.

Once again, my life is crazy. I'd like to apologize to those I've neglected lately. It's not cold-hearted intention, just sheer exhaustion, that keeps me from being very social.
Chris has started his audio engineering school and is thrilled with it. No doubt he will work HARD for that degree, judging by the course work I've seen so far. But, he seems to breeze though it. I definately believe it's what he was meant to do.
I have signed a lease at a new place in Hollywood. My one bedroom quickly became very, very small since Chris and his stuff moved in. We're moving this weekend, just a few blocks away from where I currently live. So far, we love the place....high ceilings, hardwood floors, lots of space, walking distance to work and school. I'm excited to get moved in, and view the move as quite an accomplishment. To find the right place, at the right price, in the right neighborhood, at the right time...in Hollywood....WHEW! NOT an easy task! I cannot wait to be all settled in. And for us each to have our own bedroom again.
Work has been very busy. Lots of production going on, lots of entertaining people showing up in our office. I have some photos to upload soon of those adventures. Never a dull moment at 51 Minds! And, I suppose that's why I love it here. Well, maybe except for the fact that it takes up too many hours of my day...which already does not contain enough hours to begin with! I wondered aloud at work the other day...with such a fast paced world in Hollywood, how does one get everything done without an assistant? The reply? EVERYONE in Hollywood has an assistant. I'm mulling that one over.....
Slash (of Guns & Roses/Velvet Revolver fame, for those who have been living under a rock...haha) was at the Whiskey on Sunset today, signing copies of his newly released autobiography. If you know me, you know how I love all the decadent rock star autobiographies (like Nikki Sixx's most awesome "Heroin Diaries"), and it is a thrill for me to not only own one of the first copies of Slash's book, but to have had him personally autograph both copies...one for me, one for my (guitarist) son Chris. I can't wait to give him his book (and a huge hug!) when he arrives here one week from today for a 4 day visit! I'm so excited, it has been quite a while since I've been around him. (Jason, you're next..please?!!!) I also can't wait to read my new book. It's always been amazing to me what these rock stars have been through, and yet they are still here to tell the tales. And, it doesn't hurt that certain friends (can you say Tommy Lee? haha) always seem to be mentioned in the books. ;)
...to be on the set of "Rock of Love 2" last night! It was my second time yesterday, I also made a set run from work during the day, and had an awesome lunch thanks to the fabulous craft servies on set!
During the first "Rock of Love", I watched every episode and wished I could be involved somehow. (But, not as one of Bret's girls..lol) So, as you can imagine, I was beside myself to actually be there, and belong there. I got to see a little bit of Bret and the girls in action. (Sorry, can't give away any details, but you are going to love the new show!).
I absolutely love my new life.....my job, my coworkers, EVERYTHING!
Sometimes when you think life can't be any rougher, things change suddenly and there you are, happy as a pig in, well...you know! ;)
Today I have some friends struggling with the sadder side of life, and I just want to encourage you to hang in there, keep pushing for what you want, don't give in. It really WILL get better.
I'd also like to encourage everyone to tune in to the new Rock of Love..it's going to be amazing!
