IT’S ABOTU VIOLENCE! (Updated release!)
Current mood: accomplished
I know this was just posted, but I've fiddled around with this thing and there's a new updated release. I went it and edited all the song files so that the volume was more even across the board, cut out silence at the beginning & end of some tracks, and played with some of the volumes in the songs a little. I also updated the included booklet including the cover, and added an html readme file with links to all the bands' websites. I think it's a slightly better overall product now. Best part is, you can get it right from aixelsyd.com, no upload services or popups. Just click the pic to get it:

- Horror of 59 - "Frankenstein Returns"
- Gasoline Dion - "Your Face, My Fist"
- The Undead - "The Invisible Man" [Live]
- United Mutations - "Atom Age"

- Soul Leech - "We Can Be As One"
- Brad Bittinger - "Boulder Rock"
- ArkhaM - "Demons"
- Sam Scumaci - "Lucy Furr"
- Rusty Paperclip - "Invocation Of The Paperclip"
What's the deal with the name of the comp. & the paper clips?
Well, there's a word filter in the forum that alters most references to the male genetalia to "paper clip". Why? I don't remember why it all started, but now it's a running joke. Another running joke is to utter "It's about violence!" in response to... well, anything. Why? Well, read on:
MisfitsCentral.com wrote: We Are 138 Based on George Lucas's 1971 science fiction film "THX-1138," this song reflects the anonymity attached to living with a number for a name in a 25th century police state. On July 1, 1996 Bobby Steele e-mailed the following to the Misfits Bible: "We used to have badges with a picture of a robot with 138 on his forehead. I wonder if Jerry has one, or remembers it... He [Glenn] used to tell us that if someone asked what it meant, we should just laugh, and in a mocking tone say "What? You don't know?" and sound real snobby when you say it. Make them feel like every idiot but YOU knows what it means." Jerry Only told a similar story to a fan after a show on July 27, 1996: "'138' is like people being treated as androids where you have a number instead of a name, so it's like the human number would be a 138... We had buttons made once, they were robots with '138' that looked like half human android kinda things, long before your Terminator or stuff like that." Glenn Danzig summarized it in a Twec.Com interview on January 27, 2000: "They didn't write it, and they don't know what the fuck it's about. It's about violence."
Where did this alll get started, & how do I learn more? Where do I get it again?

AiXeLsyD - Volume 1 (Free Download From Head Records)
Current mood: nostalgic
Category: Music
You read it right, folks. You can now get a bunch of old AiXeLsyD tracks on a free downloadable compilation album... thanks to Head Records. It comprises of some of the stuff that you loyal AiXeLkyDz may have purchased way back in late '99 or the early '00's... but it's also got some stuff that younz guys have never heard before.
It seems a shame to just let it all sit on a hard drive or CD-R unheard somewhere. Some of it's awful, some of it's awesome... but we've got some people who seem to dig it... so I gave Josh at Head Records a bunch of our stuff (after sharing some music at Misfits Central) and he & his blokes liked it so much, he wants to share it. We have 3 volumes coming... track lists selected by Josh, & some old artwork that I've dug up may even be included. Here's the track list to Vol. 1 if you're interested:
- Intro
- Stand Up
- Tonight We have AiXeLsyD
- Dave Ugly's Girlfriend
- Urine Trouble
- Wait
- M.G.S.A.R. (Maniac Girl Scout's Angry Rant)
- 2000 A.D.D.
- Hopeless & Heartless
- S.F.B.
- Punk Rock Break-Up Song
- Common Sense & Logic
- Chicken Huntin' [Insane Clown Posse Cover]
- Radio Play (Live, Acoustic 05-23-04)
- I Turned Into A Martian [Misfits Cover]
- More Than You
- Waitress
- Love, Hopes, Dreams, & Smiles
- (Feedback)
To download the album, click the pic above, or click here... and look for it on the front of their page!

[PUNK|SNOT|DEAD]
Current mood: aroused
Category: Music
AiXeLsyD keeps popping back into my head. Head Records has heard some of our old stuff, and is going to make it available free for the downloading in the near future. If anyone's got any tracks they want included, I'll try to dig them up. Any submitted artwork and a new compilation name would be cool too. I'd like to make it so we're not giving the exact same thing for free that other people have purchased in the past. On the same note, I'd like to dig up something that you might not have heard before. I just got a DVD-Recorder/VCR combo, so I'm pulling out some old videos and slapping them on to DVD when I have time. I also recently cataloged all my CD's, and there's an ass-load of AiXeLsyD stuff that I forgot about. I might be able to pull some rare sounds off of these videos too. Unfortunatelty the VCR is not in the same room as the computers... Also, with the Head Records thing mentioned above, Gasoline Dion & AiXeLsyD are both going to be on a free downloadable compilation. Here's the deal straight from the GD blog: For all 3½ of you not in the band (at one point or another) and still into our stuff, check it out...
..> | Head Records wrote: | | The 'M CENTRAL COMPILATION - It's about violence, a tribute to THE MISFITS / SAMHAIN / DANZIG / THE UNDEAD' is starting to take form, and we have some really exciting news to reveal.
Not only do we have great music from HORROR OF 59, GASOLINE DION, ROUND 2 and many many more, but we can now reveal that we can expect to hear an exclusive track from THE UNDEAD!!!!!!! We're really thankful to Bobby for taking the time to do this, and we are all looking forward to seeing this compilation released in the spring.
And as if that wasn't enough, former SAMHAIN & DANZIG bass player EERIE VON will be providing some very special sleeve notes, sharing his memories and experiences with the bands that inspired such acts as METALLICA, AFI and countless others. | ..>
Notice how we're an advertising point? It's not a stright-up tribute album. It's just acknowledging that we were inspired by the Misfits (& the plethora of related bands) in some part enabling us to do what we do. It hails from all the Fiends in bands that post on the Misfits Central forum. It should be called It's About Violence, due to a running joke on the forum. Not sure which track(s) (off of our unmastered & never released LOADING NOISE... disc) will be appearing... but they're being picked by Josh at Head Records. Also of note, Head Records is a little different. They're not selling discs. This comp will be available for free as a digital download. It will include a bunch of tracks, the exclusive Undead track (featuring Bobby Steele & Joey Image) mentioned above, and the aforementioned liner notes by Eerie Von (of Samhain/Danzig).
So, I guess there are some people out there still diggin' what AiXeLsyD was all about. If you're one of 'em, let us know!

Just so you know...
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
AiXeLsyD really isn't doing anything right now.
An-Die & I will most likely try to get something together as soon as we can, but for right now, this thing is kind've null n' void. Maybe we'll sell some/all of the old tunes via the MySpace music store deal.
Mainly this is for the people messaging us asking for contact information for local venues or to hook up shows. I don't check this regularly, and 9 chances out of 10, you won't read this blog... but it'll make me feel better about not responding to you, because, well... you were warned. If you're looking for shows, go to PittsburghBeat.com or PittPunk.com, sign up, & ask.

[•|•|•] STOLEN EQUIPMENT! [•] PLEASE RE-POST! [•|•|•]
Current mood: pissed off

STOLEN EQUIPMENT!
Our friend Dave of The Satanic Bat & Gasoline Dion has had his equipment stolen from our practice space. We'd like to see him get it back. Please take a minute to take a look at this, and pass it on.
Message from Dave: My practice room was broken into by some people who were apparently looking to just rip out the copper pipes in the building. We practice in an old school that looks empty and it looks like they just chose the wrong window to smash through and happened to get lucky with our stuff. They also only took what they could carry.
The items were stolen from the Southside area. Police have been notified as well as local music stores. I will be hitting all teh stores tomorrow with a flyer of the missing items as well as pawn shops. If anyone sees any of these items, I would really appreciate it if you'd contact me.
I love this guitar.
The following items are missing...
1992 Fender Japanese HRR Strat
- half sea foam green/half black
- maple fretboard
- SD JB in the bridge
- Hum sticker behind the bridge
- star stickers on the pickguard
- Rage Against the Machine and Whatever sticker on the back
Lakland 55-01 5 String bass
- Inca Silver
- mint green pickguard
- missing volume knob
Ashdown MAG 400 bass head
- heavy duty power cord tucked in the handle
If you see any of this stuff on a stage, in a music store, on eBay, in a pawn shop, or in someone's basement, please, contact Dave: orangekick@gmail.com / http://www.myspace.com/orangekick
