Moments traded for silver

Tick, tock. Each day the same clock we wind

To awaken each day and walk dazed to our assigned grind,

Confined for 8 hours by the expectations of mankind

Selling our soul each day for a tiny piece of silver

Shouldn't we be worth more?

Asked once again our time to deliver

Moments we will never gain again. Moments we traded for silver.

The give and take, we tell ourselves are of our own choice

It's a chain of our own making, driven by retails' lore

The shiny bauble calling from the window of the corner store,

For the silver we traded our voice

The frailty of being human, unable to resist,

We bind ourselves once and again to repeat the daily tainted twist.

Love who you are..

Love who you are...

As I toss the pebble into the pool
Looking at the ripples of my reflections
To examine my inner self;
The ripples begin to fade . . .
I'm left with the reflection before me

I decide I like this soul I see looking back at me…
Gently taking my hand,
I pull myself up, dry myself off

And laugh while saying "Such a pretty, silly girl!"

Treasures of the Ocean

Treasures of the Ocean

Beautifully calming and soothing blue

Its beauty like its depth is boundless

Often finding sand where we seek water

Our worn and tired spirits often cry out for it.

We tread many well beaten paths in search of it,

We stare at it in amazement and smile

as its breezes gently brush away our tears.

It provides a route upon which our dreams can

set sail to grand new places far away,

Finding the home and welcoming doorstep

of our greatest hopes and desires.

So when your soul is thirsty and in need

Gently close your eyes

Reach out, touch the cool blue water

And let your soul be free to fly.

Trust
Category: Life

What sense do you trust more?
The ones your eyes see and hands touch
Or the ones your heart feels?

Do you trust the senses of your hearing of words
Or the ones your heart feels?

Is it an illusion of trust or a needed trust of Illusion?

Could it be any or a combination of many?

Shared Drawings
Category: Life

Softly drawn
into the paintings
of the conversation
her silence grew

she would order
a hot tea
and listen

Seeking first to understand

then to be understood

It is the sharing that creates the beauty

Smiling in the rain
Category: Life

She is the pretty picture under the broken picture frame

Most days she just searches to find the key to the cage we are all in…to set us all free.

Her quest is to redraw all the maps they have handed her.  The world is boundless.

She wants to trace the all the stars in heaven and rename every constellation that she finds...

She is not always who she is, she often remembers who she was once and every now and then she still gets confused about who she should be next

If she had all the answers she would freely give them, but for now you have to just accept her as she is

She is the product of her every dream!

She often fears her fruition could wreck reality....but fear is to be conquered and released. So she travels on

She believes we all have a lot of life to live and it can't be done in the confines of the expectations of others

She wants to stand in the busy street of some 1000 year old Italian town square and have no one notice her at all

She wants to walk barefoot on the ground of that same city and stand in the rain, dance and laugh, all alone. A moment that belongs only to her.

She senses life meant her to be born in a different place and time.

She has to go now; there is a phone call from life

…and she promises this time to call back

Can you change the world?

Can You Change The World???

This blog was wonderfully created by my friend Robin

I wonder how much we could change the world of the hurting people around us if we......

wrote a note to a broken hearted inmate?

sent a package to a frightened homesick soldier?

stopped by to visit a shut in?

served a meal or a gift to a less fortunate family?

gave clothes to a homeless person?

wrote a kind comment on the blog of a hurting friend?

called a sick person.....twice a week?

sent Christmas cards to the lonely?

had coffee with a friend who's going through a difficult time in life

spent an hour with a grieving parent/widow/widower?

baked a goodie for your overwhelmed neighbor?

Can we do this?

Each one of us?

I think there's nothing in this list we aren't capable of.

Take one thing a day and do it.

I'm sure there's more you can think of.

Just one thing will make all the
difference!

Blessings to all of you my dear friends

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." -Mark Twain

"We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, 'It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.' Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes." -- The late Fred Rogers.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them. --Mother Teresa

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." (Mark Twain)

There are many things that will catch your eye, but only a few that will catch your heart . . . pursue those. - Henry David Thoreau

Learn to respond, not react. - Buddha
