CHANGE!
Current mood: betrayed
Category: News and Politics
We do need a change. Not so much the ruling party. I don't think that either of the parties have a silver bullet so to speak. Neither of them are a shining example of what America should be.
We as a people need to tighten the reigns on the government. For the people, by the people. That has lost it's meaning somewhere along the line. It seems now it is ' For a few, by the rich people in Washington.'
Two candidates stand and debate one another about government spending and how bad the little folk like me are hurting. And how they want to fix it. All the while they are wearing suits that cost more than I make in a year. (I think President Clinton once bought a tie for $10,000.00 WTF?)
So maybe, just maybe, let's not worry about how perfect their suits are and spend a tiny bit of that money on building a school, or a house, or even just buying new books for a local library.
For instance at the Republican Convention Mrs. McCain's outfit roughly cost her $300,000. (I am sure the same type of thing happened at the Democratic convention. Oh! Let's not for get the millions of dollars the conventions cost. ) MY GOD! I won't make that much money in my lifetime. I know for a fact that my community would prosper quite well with that amount of money poured into it. School computers, clothing for kids, FOOD for families, business start ups. You name it. FORGET LOOKING LIKE A MOVIE STAR AND FEED THE POOR!
I can't help but get a bad taste in my mouth when I see two millionaires saying how bad off things are and that they are for the average worker, the middle class. I know they are getting ready to board their private jets where a private chef is preparing an after debate meal. They are eating a meal that cost more than a months groceries from Wal-Mart as they fly back to their mansions to sleep in their beds that their maid has just turned down for them so they can rest easy. They crawl into the bed with new $500 sheets while they remove their Rolex watches and kick off their Berluti shoes.
OUT-OF-TOUCH
Yet these are the people who we have to vote for to lead our country. Have any of these people had to decide which is more important to them when they go to pay their bills? Electric… gas…. FOOD or Clothes???? Do they even see the cost of it? I am sure none of them have had to push a shopping cart through a crowded isle at the local Wal-Mart store, past screaming kids and yelling parents just to try and hunt down the cheapest toilet paper so they can afford to buy their kid a candy bar for the "A+" that he/she brought home from school.
These people live in the fairy tale world we know as Washington D.C.

Democrap or Re-Flubagain????
Current mood: drained
Category: News and Politics
First off I am not in favor of war. Not a single person is in control of the economy. We can all point fingers but we need to look in the mirror when we do it. (Americans have racked up millions upon millions in credit card debt then file bankruptcy to get our asses out of debt. It is all intertwined.) The people who are screwing us with gas prices are a combination of the people who hate our country and want us all eradicated from the earth, and the ultra-rich CEO's that were born and live in America. Secondly I am not swayed by someone's color, sex, or personal doings. We all have skeletons in our closets. If we just voted on who was the least bad, we'd have to vote for our children. They are the only ones in this country that haven't had a chance to screw it up yet. Hell we might be better off if the Constitution was written in Crayola Crayons. We might have a better chance for peace. (Pleading the 5th might change it's meaning completely… like to "I double dog dare you to tell the truth.")
What I know/think of our Candidates;
Barack Obama: A very intelligent, well spoken, decent person. He has the charisma of Clinton and the same inexperience as anyone running for President for the first time.
John McCain: A very intelligent, decently spoken person. He has a more straight forward, harsh personality. I give that to his age and experiences he's had in life. He also is just as inexperienced as anyone running for President.
Joe Biden: Reading about him it seems he is a better candidate for President than his running mate. His experience started the year I was born.
(Joe Biden was first elected to the Senate in 1972; sworn in 1973 at the Constitutional minimum age of 30, he became the fifth-youngest senator in U.S. history. He was reelected to the Senate in 1978, 1984, 1990, 1996, and 2002. He is a long-time member and current chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and has worked on resolutions concerning the Yugoslav wars and Iraq War.)
He has done a ton more than that little quote I took from Wikipedia I don't know much about him except what I've read on the net. Obviously though, his life has been deep in politics, longer than both candidates that are running for President. On the flip side it seems the people that have been in politics for decades seem to lose touch with the average American. THAT'S YOU!
Sarah Palin: She seems unusually comfortable speaking in large forums. More so than the most seasoned politician. Her experience in government is nothing much to talk about. Her values are very mainstream and ring very true with most middle/lower class America. She is a bit refreshing because she is very straight forward. I haven't seen her back down even when up against the most seasoned interviewer.
So all of that said, who do I think is best for president? Me! Just kidding. I think it seems to be a rather fair ticket. I don't think anyone wants war. I think they all truly want to help the economy. I think they all have a bit of their own self interests in mind. (If they didn't they would take there millions and help the communities they live in and around much like BILL GATES does. Maybe he should be president, at least he would get updated daily!)
I am not going to try to change anyone's mind. I have learned through my years that there are three things you can NEVER change peoples opinion on. 1. Religion 2. Politics 3. Abortion.
I think the only way to change an opinion on any of those subjects you would have to experience them. Run for office or meet a politician. Go to a few different churches or read about other beliefs. Witness an abortion or have one.
I don't think anyone will do any of those things to try to learn from it. I have been to several different churches, they however have all been Christian. So opinions are based upon our life experience or at least they should be. I hope to God no one will vote for our next President or Vice President purely on his/her party, religious beliefs, college education, or what Hollywood tells us to do. (I know a lot of idiots who have a college education and we all know how easily religion flies out the window when a person needs to turn a blind eye to get something they want.)
The candidate I vote for has to support what I believe morally. I believe that is the foundation of our country. Being moral and fair. (No I am not talking about gay marriages. Everyone needs family and person to spend their life with.)
None of the candidates can guarantee the war being over, the economy straightening up, gas prices dropping, where we are going to drill for oil, or if I can still afford to go to the movies once a month. (Hey, no one blames the President for those damn ticket prices! Oh yea, that would be Hollywood, and you know what party the majority of movies stars affiliate themselves with. HA!) All they can guarantee is that they will try. Most of them say what you want to hear anyway, then they get into office and do what the hell they want.
Right now it seems that McCain is more in line with some of my basic values. So unless Obama has some kind of amazing ideas that I think he will stick to, McCain has my vote!
Stupid Quotes
"I've now been in 57 states -- I think one left to go."
"What do I think of Western civilization? I think it would be a very good idea."
"We have a lot of work to do. It's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq-Pakistan border." --referring to a border that does not exist.
"Eternity is a very long time, especially towards the end."
"I'm the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can't.'"
"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking."
"It would be better if you begin to teach others only after you yourself have learned something."
Four of those quotes are from each one of the four candidates and three are from some of the greatest thinkers of all time. You can guess which ones.

Quantum Physics.
Current mood: confused
Category: Travel and Places
I've been read a bit about it. It seems quantum physics is a scientist's creative outlet. It is so damn confusing. According to the theories I have been reading it seems that the scientists that work in this field believe that maybe our 'reality' is really just a perception of what we want it to be and if we wanted to we could simply somehow think of it differently and it would change.
Some theorize that I could actually be standing behind you right now and typing this here at the same time because time has no boundaries that they can see. So if in the future I will be standing behind you while you're reading this, I might be at home typing it. Confusing?
They have proven that a particle of light can be in more than one place at the same time. So that means that maybe all particles of everything could have the same properties.
They just figured out about 4 years ago that they could slow light down to a snail's pace. So something they thought could NEVER change has been changed. Light was the speed limit to the universe, but now it looks like light can speed up and slow down. SO … if we can stop light…. Which is somehow also the master of time, because if we can't see it, it hasn't happened. (If a tree falls in the forest with no one there, does it make a sound?) So stopping light, then putting something faster in that slowed light so it will be lit up when we 'unfreeze' the light. That object will have traveled into the future.
Think about it like this…. If someone fires a bullet from far away, the bullet hits it target then you hear the sound. NOW if you could stop the light, which would freeze the bullet's image in place. You grab the bullet slide it backwards to the barrel of the gun. Somehow keeping it on the same path. UNFREEZE the light the sound would be ahead of the bullet…. So either the bullet traveled back in time or the sound traveled into the future. CONFUSED YET?
I shouldn't go to the library…. It is too dangerous.

This is a quick bitch....
I am a guitar player.... duh! Sorry about stating the obvious. As a musician and a former song writer I have a problem with people downloading music. I don't think it is fair to the artist. On that subject however, if you play guitar/bass, you can go online and find TAB (Sort of easy sheet music) to learn songs. THAT HAS NOW BEEN OUTLAWED. WTF? I mean that is just too far. I understand not stealing music, movies, and artwork. Tab however is simply learning your favorite songs. It isn't like you are selling it or making money from it. IT IS A COMPLIMENT TO THE ARTIST!!!! So I just don't understand. Back to the old days of doing it all by ear I guess. Sheet music is ridiculously stupid in price.. one song can cost you $15. More than the CD.. I have a book of Nickelback music that cost me $21.95. The disk only cost me $12.
So I am going to rebel and start posting TAB on a web site for free. LET THEM SUE ME!

Sainthood is great
Category: Blogging
I am practicing parting water. I have that water to wine thing down. I also turned a stick into a snake. It rocked!
So I am working on the water thing, and raising the dead.
Give me some time and I'll have it too. All of us saints have to have a miracle or two under our belt.
Oh... yea I forgot, I walk right over a puddle yesterday, didn't even make a wave. Sweet, walking on water has some serious advantages.
OH!!! look STIGMATA!!!! YEA!!!

Why does family suck?
Current mood: angry
Category: Life
I cant stand having the feeling that people don’t want my family around.
We are a simple family of 4. My wife, myself, and our two little girls.
My girls are the typical 4 and 7 year olds. They are trying to figure out the world and testing their boundaries. They sometimes get out of hand, but most of the time they are cute, pleasant, and they make me proud.
My sister is visiting from Canada. She is older than me and has always looked down on me a bit. She and her boyfriend, or whatever he is, have been together for a while. They do not have children and they have no tolerance for them. Basically they consider children leeches that suck the life out of their parents. HOWEVER, they have a dog. They treat this over-grown rat like it is their parent. The dog is the head of their household. They let it eat at their table, they carry it outside so it doesn’t have to walk. They even get on their hands and knees and eat out of the dog’s bowl to show it that its food is o.k. They don’t give it dog food, they fix it lamb. They make sure their day is tailored to this little beast. When they visit here, the dog will not let other people near them, or near it. It bites and growls at everyone, especially my children.
Who is the leech? Who is the freak?
Also, my sister and her ’man’ have no friends really. They live their lives on a computer. In a one-bedroom apartment, they have five computers. They go to bed with a laptop and have conversations as they type away.
What brought this all on, is while she was visiting this time, we had all planned to go to one of my favorite places to eat out of town. I have been really wanting to go there for weeks. I went to my mom’s house to drop something off and my sister and my dad were sitting at the kitchen table. My mom was still at work. My dad asked me "Are you going with us tonight?" I replied "Yea, if you can handle us all." . I said this purely in jest. Their expression changed. My dad muttered, "Oh, you are ALL going?" I said "Yea, mom invited us all." (I am sure with a look of disbelief on my face.) My sister quickly spoke up and said "NO SHE DIDN’T!" I said "Yes, she came over yesterday and invited us all." They both gave each other a strange look and muttered "Oh..." Then my dad spoke up and said "Well, we don’t have enough room for everybody in the car." I guess that was his way of back tracking and making it sound like that was the reason they were trying to exclude my family.
Stress with health, bills, housework, kids’ school, our car being totaled, and a ton of little things piled up at my house is enough. HOW DARE THEY TRY TO ADD TO IT?! Can’t they see how hard it is for me already?
My sister sits in a penthouse in Canada, with enough money to literally go buy a new room of furniture without thinking twice. I have to wonder if I can afford McDonald’s.
So someone who can spend their day feeding their insane Chihuahua lamb, and let it drink from their glass of water without even a flinch, dares to look down on me and not want my children to be around them. My wife can handle it. But my children, who stand at the window for hours excited to see their aunt’s car pull up, can’t. (My parents live across the street, by the way) My kids could never possibly understand why my sister doesn’t want them around. I had to take them home yesterday because they were being too rowdy. They cried for an hour because they couldn’t see her. She just doesn’t get it. Those two little girls look up to her so much. I guess it is time to burst their bubbles and tell them the truth. They will be hurt now, but in the long run they will understand that my sister is a person that is self-centered, arrogant, and hates people.
SO TO HELL WITH THEM. DON’T THEY REALIZE I AM MY FAMILY AND MY FAMILY IS ME? WE ARE ONE IN THE SAME! SO SCREW THEM! SCREW THEM! SCREW THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been walking on egg shells trying somehow, hopefully, to get my two families to co-exist, and if anything just for my sake, to pretend to like one another. I keep feeling like I am pushed to choose. I chose today. I chose my wife, my children, and the house I live in. I was given the others by circumstance alone. You can’t choose who your relatives are, but you choose your spouse and therein lies your children. THEY SHOULD BE THE ONES YOUR HEART IS GIVEN TO. I SHOULD NOT BE TORN BETWEEN MAKING EVERYBODY HAPPY. IT DOES NOT WORK!

Life, Life, Life, Life, Life, Life.
Current mood: bitchy
Category: Life
Struggling to climb rocky cliff faces and losing your foot hold on the way back down. Deep valleys and rigid rocky slopes. This is what I consider a good metaphor of life. It seems we are very seldom if at all, walking through gentle fields of windblown flowers, or swimming through warm waters of gentle ocean waves.
I watch everyone’s life unfold here, through blogs, their "status" banners, and whatever else it is they post. No one, not a single person seems to have a tame easy going life. So why the hell do we try so hard to have one?
Stir some crap up. Enjoy the turmoil for what it is. Revel in it. Maybe if we take as much as we can in stride the world might seem a little less cruel. Maybe, just maybe we can enjoy some of the finer things in life that we forget about.
Bills suck for everyone, yet we keep on spending. Everyone has some health issue. Those of you that work, all most all of you hate your job or a co-worker. Everyone seems to have a crap time with their families/in-laws/friends/bosses/church/ or their own personal demons.
Ever think that we cause our own insanity and try to blame it on ’life’. Do you think maybe we cause it just so we have something to do, something to bitch about?
I don’t know, but I realized today looking at my empty bank account that I cause it myself. I don’t need to have cable, or the net, or a cell phone. I don’t really need a lot of the stuff I own. Somehow I would be miserable with out it.
I tried an experiment once a long time ago. Every Wednesday we would use no electric in our house. Except for the refrigerator, and heat if need be. I would only play my acoustic guitar and have actual conversations. Those days still stick with me. Now having kids, a day with no electric would be an achievement worthy of a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Children now, and adults, would be insane by the end of the day. No cartoons, no net, no phone calls, no TV of any kind and cooking on the grill instead of on the stove or with the microwave. I couldn’t imagine just milling around the house and just enjoying the day.
Maybe I will give it a try again. Convincing the kids not to turn on the TV and me refraining from the computer would be an amazing feat.
