1. I HATE kids.... and yet I have one.

What has this world come to? I was on witchvox reading articles when one leaped out at me and grabbed my attention. This woman, a priestess of a coven, was speaking on the effects of the economy upon the pagan community. And I found myself being overwhelmingly drawn to agree with her. I mean, the community of middle to lower class as a whole is being effected greatly by the economy, but has anyone taken a real look at what's happening to the pagan communities? Those of the truly free, joyous spirits are slowly being broken as families struggle... Trying to decide whether to pay the bills this month, or to feed their hungry stomachs. Not to mention the gas prices!! Nobody can afford to live the way that's skyrocketing... And to think, how much are those fat, rich mother-you-know-what's making off of us poor folk just trying to get to work and go to the store for essentials?!
You know that it's not 'cause we're dealing with a shortage, right? They're doing it to see how much they can really make! Whatever... But, the pagan communities are suffering just as much as the next. I mean, think how many pot-lucks are going foodless because nobody's got the money to put towards feeding themselves and their spiritual compatriates after a gathering? How many don't even show 'cause they don't have the gas money? Or can't help provide supplies? Or maybe they're just too embarrassed by their poverty to face their loving peers... The point is this: Whatever the government is doing to the american people has to stop!! This is supposedly the land of the free!! Instead, it's the land where those who have money get to step on the crumpled remains of those who struggle. All of the the "government assistance" is a joke too! Either you've got to be a 'Breeder' with eight thousand kids, no job and willing to milk the system for all it's worth; or you don't get any help at all! What is this crap?
The state minimum wage is going up, but so are the prices for everything! But the government "assistance" stays the same.... Anyone else smell fish here? They're setting us up to fail!! They want us, pagan and otherwise, to lose our spirit and succumb to accepting that we are not worthy enough to pump gas for their rich asses. Think again!! I know so many beautiful, spiritual people who are better than anyone in the government today. There are many that are labeled 'pagan' and there are many who are not. It doesn't matter... We're a community of people that cares what happens to one another and we're all suffering here!! Something needs to be done... The question is what are we willing to do? There is so much threatened by the people in power... you'll lose your job, your credit, your home, your car, your KIDS!! You'll be tossed in jail and tortured for being a terrorist! When all you're looking for is a little reprieve.. to see joy on the faces around you! I wish I knew the answers... but I don't. I hope someday, maybe, one of us will find them...
