New arrival
Current mood: blessed
Category: Life
My Grandson was born on Tuesday April 1st.
It was a bittersweet day for me.......My Grandfather was buried that morning and then I got back from Florida and went straight to the hospital to hold that precious little baby that night. I got there as Keisha was being put in a room. He was just a few hours old. I’m so blessed that I didn’t miss it.
He weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and is healthy. Named him Michael Evan Haze.
I’m putting up pictures of the cutie :)
Still no internet at home.........

It is with a sad heart that I post that my Grandfather passed away on Friday evening. He had a good life, he was 97 years old. He’ll be missed by our whole family. I’m leaving in the morning heading to Florida for services.

National MS awareness week
Current mood: quiet
Category: Life
Nationl MS Awareness Week, March 10 - 17!
National MS website
Multiple sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease. MS is Thought to be an Autoimmune Disease The body’s own defense system attacks myelin the fatty substance that surrounds and protects the nerve fibers in the central nervous system. The nerve fibers themselves can also be damaged. The damaged myelin forms scar tissue (sclerosis), which gives the disease its name. When any part of the myelin sheath or nerve fiber is damaged or destroyed, nerve impulses traveling to and from the brain and spinal cord are distorted or interrupted, producing the variety of symptoms that can occur. Managing MS is an ongoing process, beginning with the very first symptoms and continuing throughout the disease course. It’s never too soon or too late to think about how to access high quality care.
Important relationships take effort and energy—even without the added challenges of MS. While MS does pose some additional challenges, it can also enrich relationships and bring people closer together. The first step in figuring out how to deal with MS in your personal interactions is to recognize that the disease affects all of you—whether you have the disease or care about someone who does.

wedding part 2
Current mood: tired
Category: Life
I blogged yesterday about my son getting married.......here's the whole story.
A lot of our friends and family didn't know about the wedding because...........
Michael and Keisha had decided to elope......you know just go to the courthouse and had asked me to go with them........
Her family and Bill and I go to the same small country church, so they decided at the last minute to have Pastor Roy just marry them after the church service........waited until less than a week to tell us all..........we all got into action.......not thinking to call one another.......I think Michael knew what was up though
They ended up with 2 wedding cakes and 2 bouquets........it was nice they just had to do double duty and have 2 cake cuttings. The having 2 bouquets turned out well. Michael's step-sister stood up with Keisha and used one and Keisha used the other.
Bill played "Here comes the bride" on his guitar for them........he did a great job!
Ms. Gracie did a great job decorating the fellowship hall for the reception, everything was beautiful!
I have to thank Jackie.......my other daughter=in-law for all her help.....THANKS!!!!
The only downfall of the day was Keisha's Mom being mad about who was to walk her down the isle....Her Father did the honor....but this was Keisha's choice and HER day.
So as soon as the "I do's" were said, she got up and left, as did her 2 brothers. Keisha was heartbroken, but managed to be possitive and have a great day anyway.
I'm sure one day when her Mom and brothers see all the wedding photos and they're not in them they'll regret it.....some things you can't take back.

it’s back
Current mood: anxious
Category: Life
Unfortunately my double vision is back, it wasn't gone long. I go to the neurologoist on thursday. Not sure what they'll do or say about it. I read on the MS website that it and my hearing loss are both symptoms of ms. It's really discouraging.........I like to read and it's nearly impossible without patching one eye, which they say I shouldn't do.........it weakens the eye muscles. I can't drive, it's been over a month now. And riding in a car is nerve racking as it looks like everyone is going to hit everything. I close my eyes a lot I've always loved listening to music and can't really hear it now. It must be hard for Bill, I can't stand to try and listen to it, it sounds garbled. And singing is out of the question, you have to hear music to sing Also the vertigo/unsteadiness/dizziness continues. My sister Michelle sent me my Grandmother's cane to use (Thank you sis!) But being so unsteady I'm really not able to use it much. Just keep your fingers crossed for me and keep me in your prayers.

Update on Lee
Current mood: blessed
Category: Life
I went to see Lee yesterday while I was at the clinic for an appointment. I missed visiting hours by 15 minutes, but they let me go see him for 5 minutes anyway. He's still in ICU. It was rough seeing him this way. I touched his arm and told him it was Aunt Teresa. He opened his eyes and looked at me and then raised his hand for me to hold it. Then fell right back to sleep. It was heart wrenching. They attempted to take him off the ventillator yesterday but were unable to. As I understand it, his lungs are too bruised for him to breath on his own yet. Just standing there holding his hand took me back in time to when he was a little boy and was hurt. I just felt helpless. I can imagine what his parents are feeling right now and my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Stephanie is a strong woman and a good mother to their boys. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Lee has a long road ahead. He's has 3 surgeries and more to come. Not to mention the therapy he's going to need. Our family has been througha lot in the last 5 months........from losing our Dad in September to our 97 year old Grandaddy being homebound with hospice just recently, my illness and now Lee. Please keep us all in your thoughts. We've had some good stuff also......My son and his girlfriend are expecting a baby boy in April . Lee and his wife and Jennifer and her boyfriend are both expecting baby boys in May. We wish them all the best. Thank you all for your words of encouragement.
