Proposition 8

How do you argue with someone who believes this proposition is not only acceptable but necessary to keep our country 'in order'?

How do you argue with someone whose whole arguement is not based on reasoning and logic?

How do you argue with a hypocrite?

How do you argue with someone who believes their fragile little beliefs are threatened by 'a few crazy liberals'?

I am so enraged, all I can think of is...fu*k you!

FU*K YOU!

Hypocrite.

Which, of course, is just my temper flaring. I fancy myself more eloquent than slinging insults and profanity.

But honestly...when it comes down to arguing over something that is so ridiculous it shouldnt even be an issue...what do you really say?

Im excited about Robs wedding...though its still so surreal to me. I put my life on pause and took off for a year...I dont know why I expected everyone elses lives to stop until I came back. Everything around me looks just like how I left it, but all the people are fun-house mirror images of themselves...I know its them...and they sort of look the same...but...everythings changed.

Its sad how much Ive missed by getting exactly what I wanted.

My jewelry site is (sort of) up and (sort of) running. Miss Amy will take some lovely photos and we'll see what happens. Im pretty excited about it. Ill blog over there about it though.

Im headed to Rome and southern Italy in October for 11 days. I am SO FREAKING EXCITED! Its going to be expensive because of the recession (that for some reason everyone is denying...check it out...$1.57 gets you ONE Euro...ONE...its pathetic)...but...since Im not eligible for my citizenship and will never get married, Ill just have to be happy visiting once a year and remain stuck in this country. Meh...there are most definitely worse places to be stuck. Like on a desert island with Rush Limbaugh...

Alright...I have my first day with a personal trainer tomorrow (since I cant manage to not be a fat ass on my own)...I suppose I should get some sleep and lay off the booze.

Palahniuk Poem

A couple of weeks ago I attended a Chuck Palahniuk book signing in San Francisco.

It was wonderful. Just aboslutely wonderful. Chuck was lovely and signed my book "Always smile the way you smiled today".

I thought it was sweet.

When I told the story to the bass player of the band I work for, he thought it was sweet too...so much so that he wrote a poem.

"Take my hand

And lead me far, far away

Im lost in your eyes

And dont know quite what to say

You fill my world with color

When all I see is grey

May you always smile

The way you smile today

I cant make any promises

Because tomorrow never knows

Somethings always stay the same

While others come and go

What more can I say?

What more can I do?

Would it really change the world

If I said that "I love you"?"

This pretty little poem scrawled out on the back of a Holiday Inn Express room key sleeve is what I love most.

110 lbs!

So...everyone knows when you get happy, you get fat.

If you didnt...its true.

After the breakdown and depression of last year, I lost a ton of weight. I figured out some things, found happiness and self esteem, and looked better then I ever have in my life.

Now a year plus into touring and nearly a year into a perfect relationship...Ive packed on so much weight I cant convince myself to leave the house.

Now...Devo thinks Im nuts and god bless him for it. He takes me to the gym, shares dessert with me when I absolutely have to have it (so I dont eat it all...:)), and tells me if Im light enough for him to carry around (which he does all the time), Im not nearly any weight that could be called 'fat'. So...we came to an agreement...he would help me lose 20 lbs and not a pound more.

Well...today I found a website that estimates what you should weigh to be healthy...it basically says you should weigh 100 lbs for every 5 feet and 5 lbs for every inch after that...

So...lets see...I should weigh...

110 POUNDS!

What?! My boobs weigh that alone...you've got to be kidding me...

One of my favorite cities that I have visited in my year plus of traveling...its a small town and relatively unheard of by west coasters...

Ridiculous

OK...its not because they deleted the picture...I couldnt care less about myspace deleting whatever pictures they want.

The problem I have is the reason for it.

Michaelangelos 'David' is an amazing piece of art. I dont give a crap that myspace has members as young as 14...If they go to a halfway decent school they would have already seen a photo of this sculpture, and if they havent they should change schools immediately or be taken out of their sad and culturally deprived lives...or their parents should be slapped repeatedly...in public.

The point is, there is pornographic material saturating the internet with nearly no way to keep children from it...and yet a photo of this important and brilliant piece of history is deleted because its 'graphic'.

Its pathetic.

Im so sad for the future of this world.
