The following is an entry by Jeff Weintraub that is quite interesting and a well researched look at some of the "lesser known" political motives of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. I say "lesser known" because I'm not so sure supporters of this guy know what lies beyond "getting out of the war" and "getting rid of big gov't" with him.
It is not ground-breaking information, by any means, or a particularly scathing piece. Nor does it really matter because he doesn't have a chance in hell of being president this time around. But it is what I consider to be important candor.
It also confirms my bewilderment of why anybody would support this guy ever. Ever.
With the start of a new year, I've decided that it is time to get my ass in gear, start making plans and actually doing them. While this shouldn't seem like a difficult task, for me it can be.
And traveling is at the top of the list.
Also, I have to start being creative again. 2007 was completely sub-par for me in this department and I am ashamed of that. This entails playing more music (banjo and piano), starting a novel, reading much more and learning the following in greater detail:
- Photoshop - CSS - Flash - Web design in general - Ableton Live - Adobe Audition - Mudbox and / or zBrush
I could also stand to brush up on my sight reading skills. It just occured to me that it has been over ten years since I've attempted it.
And thinking about that led to thinking about time in general and how this shit just doesn't get any slower. Not a groundbreaking concept, nor the first time I've thought about it, but its son-of-a-bitch presence is felt stonger on the daily.
