What a Tour!!!
Current mood: accomplished

Romantica is the bomb. We had an INCREDIBLE run of shows through the Southeast with the boys from Minneapolis. Cities we played included Spartanburg, Greenwood, Greenville, Charlotte, Knoxville, Atlanta, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem. All were either in the beautiful blossom-filled Carolinas, Tennesee or Georgia. Ate a ton of amazing Southern food and met even more amazing people. Can't wait to go back to all the venues we played at: Eddie's Attic, The Evening Muse, The Garage, and Music on Maxwell to name a few.

In a few weeks we will be going out again. This time we're headed West to cities in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. We're bummed that Romantica can't join us this time, as we've grown pretty attached to them and their big red van. Look for more info soon!

tour with roMANtica....
Current mood: adventurous

We played a really fun show a few nights ago in Nashville at 3rd and Lindsley. Adam Binder played bass for us and Alex McCollough played awesome pedal steel and electric. Steve of course played drums and invited all of his Nashville friends to come out. We were soooo excited to see so many friendly faces. The sound was wonderful and we had such a fun time playing. Romantica was incredible and sounded like pros despite driving all the way from Chicago that day. They are awesome guys.

We left early the next morning, crammed in the van with them, to play at Hub-Bub in lovely Spartanburg, SC. It was a cool place: modern art/music venue and close to downtown. Next we headed to the Tosco Music Party in Charlotte, where we were one of about 10 music groups playing that night in a sort of variety show. The sound in the house was stunning and the theater was packed. We hung out that night and the next morning with our friends The Near Misses, a Charlotte band with amazing female songwriting and vocals.

Tonight we played in Mt. Pleasant, SC and are turning in early...well, early for rock 'n roll standards. =) Tomorrow we head to Myrtle Beach. Stay tuned for more!!!

hannah’s latest blurb on new live cd, etc.
Current mood: amorous

Been in sunny (and cold lately) California for the past 10 days. Ate a lot, drank a lot, and spent time with my nephew and other assorted family and friends. I love ’em all but it’s time to go back to my new home! Can’t wait to gear up for our upcoming tour with Romantica. We’re hitting the Southeast: going to some of my favorite places to play, as well as playing some venues I’m hearing great things about but have never been to. It’ll be a duo tour once again. Saving our trio and full-band shows for later this year, when we’ll bust out and do a cd release tour for Record Number Two, which has just been completed! We do have something new in the meantime, however. Starting this April on the Romantica tour, we’ll not only be selling The Life You Always Wanted, but we now have a brand new LIVE album, called A Long Way From Home, which Chris has been painstakingly putting together with Compass for the past week. Guess I left town at the right time, ha! =) Anyway, it sounds great and we’re excited to share it with everybody. It has songs and covers from shows in Charlottesville, Atlanta, and some other cities. Hoping lots of people get a chance to hear it. That’s all for now!

New Label, New Pics
Current mood: blissful

Hey All,

This week we officially signed with Compass Records
In other news, we survived a photo shoot yesterday for our new record, promotion, etc. We all kept our sense of humor in it and had fun. The shoot took place in Germantown, a cute part of Nashville I'd never been to before. We shot some pics at Monell's, a historic family-style southern restaurant, and were subsequently offered some of the amazing breakfast they were serving. Potatoes, cheese grits, fried chicken, pancakes, sweet tea, biscuits....we barely fit into the fancy new clothes we got for the shoot when we finished eating. It was awesome.

Next Sunday Chris and I will be in Murray, Kentucky, playing a college show, and we're looking forward to that and the east coast shows that will follow. Happy Day!
=)

etoufee, kool-aid, and the mercy lounge

The crab etoufee at The Grey Eagle was amazing, and so was the crowd and the sound at this awesome Asheville club. We had a wonderful time in North Carolina and can't wait to go back there. Amy LaVere was fabulous, too.

Next day we headed to Mt. Pleasant, SC, where we played the Village Tavern. A little more rowdy than the Grey Eagle but fun nonetheless. A giant Mr. Kool-Aid blasting through the wall was our backdrop for the performance. Visit our website for a little slideshow. We'll be coming back to South Carolina in April with Romantica for a full-band show.

We've got another show coming up this Tuesday (Feb 26) at Mercy Lounge in Nashville. Robby Hecht and Julie Lee are also on the bill. We'll be playing as a full band and we're super-excited about that! Greg V and Adam Binder will be helping us out on electric and bass.

Happy Weekend everyone!
