What’s in the box........
Current mood: anxious
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

So,

Many of you read the blog yesterday and wondered what was in the box.

Even I speculated that Mr. Fed-Ex man would not be brining me my key this morning! 'Cause like I said yesterday...he f'n hates me.

But, like clockwork he did, and I considered asking him to pose with the envelope before he left...but...what can I say.  The dude runs back to his truck too fast for me!

Inside the overnight envelope was another black envelope with a (plastic) wax seal.  The wax seal (as you might have missed in yesterday's pictures has the initials HHN on it).  Inside that envelope was a single silver key.

Most of you noticed that the letter was from Universal Studios Orlando and  the items was for the promotion of Halloween Horror Nights 18.  The box, if you had not guessed contained the much speculated identity of the host of this year's festivities.

So....what's in the box?  Let's check it out!

The Envelope

Inside Was The Famed Key

What's in the Box

The Box Played an Eerie Tune and smelled of Dead Flowers

I See Dead People

On the back are words of warning!

Say Hello to....BLOODY MARY!!!

Inside you can see the box contained a bloody pearl necklace, a bloody lip brush and a series of 4 pictures of folks who probably looked better when they were alive.  But what the pictures don't show was the terrifying music that was being played when you opened it!

....when the tinny nightmare sound dragged down to it's close...in the background a whisper chanted Bloody Mary three times!!!

And we have a host...or...er...um...a...hostess.

Now...I'll admit, I already knew who the host was before I opened the box and part of me hoped that inside were my invitations for Press Night!

So in conclusion...I'm sufficiently creeped out by the items that arrived, and thrilled for getting the best promo ever in the past 13 years of writing this stuff....but sad that I still have to wait almost a month before I can go check out the madness that is this year's Halloween Horror Nights!

Strange things in the mail... (HHN18)
Current mood: scared
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

One of the perks of being a working member of the Press is the whacked out goodies that get delivered to your door all in the name of marketing.

Over the years I've been treated to some thngs that were:

Awesome (actual FIGHT CLUB soap)
Scary (a fast food box with a severed ear in it for THE HILLS HAVE EYES)
Useful (a set of tools from ENTRAPMENT)
Dangerous (a fairly sharp mini sword from EVER AFTER)
and
Whimsical (a medium sized pillow from STEPHEN KING'S NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES)

But....I've never got a package that was creepy and mysterious in the mail until today!

The FED-EX and UPS men hate me.  They have to come to my house everyday--sometimes twice to drop off screeners and whatever the hell I'm ordering from Amazon each week. One day the FED-EX man asked me what all this shit was!  I just smiled.  If he only knew--like Brad Pitt..."what's in the box"

today...this was in the very heavy box that Mr. FED-EX dropped on my doorstep!

The Box

Upon Further Inspection--tissue paper

Another Box with Chains?

The Plot Thickens! A Note

Scary!!!

The Lock--until tomorrow

So...as you can see.  Universal Studios has sent me a mysterious metal box wrapped in rusted chains and sealed with a small brass lock.  According to the enclosed note, a key will arrive tomorrow to open the box!!!

...And the FED-EX mans job is not yet complete.  I wonder what's inside?

I wait untill tomorrow

Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

I've got so many films to get through you wouldn't believe it!  Gotta be 2 dozen flicks queued up next to the computer at home.  Here is a pair of reviews that posted a week ago that I forgot about.

Much more to come.....

First up....ever get the feeling you've seen this one before?  I do.  Sometimes.  This one feels like that.  Check out Death Valley

Second is the 4th film in the Ghost School Trilogy (see the problem there). Oh well...It's still pretty damn good.  Check out Voice

Later,

Here on the blog let me just give a shout out to Steven Shea for providing our sick intoduction and to Kam Lee of Denial Fiend of sending me Let The Blood Flow...the baddest ass fucking title track ever!

Sorry for the techincal glitch on Keenan's mic.  We'll have that resolved next week and the sound should be perfect!

Radio-Disgusting (Coming Soon)
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Podcast

Well....the time is nigh and I just can't keep it in any longer.  This Friday, Bloody-Disgusting.com - The Worlds Number 1 Horror Website will be officially launching the latest assult on your senses: The Bloody-Disgusting Podcasts!

We will be launching 3 podcasts to begin with.  But the flagship podcast will be the weekly installment of Radio-Disgusting.  Recorded here in shitty Orlando, Florida and hosted by everyones favourite cynic Tex Massacre.  Along with my co-horrors "Horror Guy" Keenan McLelland and David "Horrorholic" Harley.  Each week we'll recount the top stories and give you our thoughts and insights into the world of the macabre.

This week's episode will cover the mountains of news coming out of the San Diego Comic-Con as well as Scream 4 rumors and the new Sleepaway Camp 4 trailer.  We'll also riff on the new X-files movie as well as the DVD release of Lost Boys 2 and Carl Th. Dryer's immortal Vampyr.

In future weeks we'll be joined by Mr. Disgusting - Editor-in-Chief of Bloody-Disgusting.com to discuss the latest and greatest in genre.  Along with other special and suprise guests!

We promise not to be too offensive - unless you directed Van Helsing or your name is Michael Bay.  I'll try to keep the swearing to a minimum but I think the photo below best sums up what this show is going to be about!

Love you....links with episodes coming soon.

Columnist Novak diagnosed with brain tumor

Former 'Crossfire' host in the news recently for striking man with car in D.C.

Associated Press

BOSTON - Syndicated colunnist and former "Crossfire" host Robert Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is suspending his journalistic work.

Novak issued a statement Monday saying the tumor was found Sunday after he had been rushed to Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital from Cape Cod, where he was visiting his daughter.

The Chicago Sun-Times columnist says he is suspending his journalistic work for an indefinite, "but God willing, not too lengthy period." His statement did not say if the tumor was malignant.

Novak was the first to publicly reveal the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

Last week he was given a $50 citation after he struck a homeless man with his black Corvette in Washington. Novak kept going until he was stopped by a bicyclist.

Dance of the Dead (Box Art Quote...now with proof)
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

I think Eric "Quint" and I are sharing box art quotes here....kinda nice to be on the cover with a friend.   Still the BEST FUCKING HORROR MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

This is the first major film release that gave me credit under my actual name (and not Tex Massacre).  My Mommy would be so proud.
