Review of lies! and some news
Current mood: chipper

That Peak District quartet The Crooks have also been in the studio. And the outcome is their best tune yet. "Lies" is as near perfect as it gets. A haunting, incisive guitar introduction, strong bass and drums, and then George Moran's smooth vocal, delivering some poignant lyrics. This hard edged classic blasts out and gets inside your head and you can't let it go . Along with other new tune - the excellent "No Elbows On The Table" - it can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/thecrooksrock .

Cheers Rob

also we have a new manager Barry wallace who spotted us in london  Management : barrywallace@fsmail.net

Derbyshire Band of the Year 2006!
Current mood: rejuvenated

If any of you were at the Winding Wheel on Monday 20th of November you will already know that we won the prestigious title of Derbyshire Times Band of the Year. But to anyone who wasn't there......erm, we won it. After only getting through the semi-final as runners up we weren't expecting to win the final, so it was a big shock when we found out.

We would like to thank everyone that came to support the event- the big crowd was very much appreciated (even the mosh pits- not had many of those before.)

...And the other bands- i thought reminiscence, the culture thieves, and that death metal band (don't know their name) ,especially, deserved to do better.

Cheers, will see you at gigs of ours sometime......or else i'll be having words.

The Crooks xx
