We were featured in the newest issue of Indie Rocks magazine -- yay!
If you're from Mexico and you're reading this, maybe you could even translate the interview from Spanish so we could know how it came out! (just kidding -- seriously though, hopefully we don't sound like idiots. I guess we'll never know).
A bunch of people have sent us messages asking about lyrics to the songs so we put them on our virb page which also has all of our songs streaming and all other tracks we've released (including the one for the 8BP050 compilation) available for download.
The Depreciation Guild presents... In Her Gentle Jaws Release Show
The full album, played front to back, in its entirety.
We're only doing this one time, friends.
We've been patiently awaiting the day when you could all hear this record, and it's finally happening next week. On December 5th, you can download In Her Gentle Jaws for free.... and you can also come hear us play the whole thing LIVE.
Wednesday, December 5, 2007 8pm - 11pm 205 Bar (at Chrystie & Stanton) NYC
We'll be releasing it online, for free, in the coming weeks. But you can hear it in its entirety right now on our brand new Facebook page. Stop by, take a listen, and add us a Facebook friend:
It's been a long journey, but we really appreciate all your well-wishes and anticipation for the album. We're proud of what we've done, and we only hope it meets your expectations. Let us know what you think.
We'll be talking to you soon.
Warm wishes, The Depreciation Guild
PS. Facebook automatically randomizes the tracklist, so if you'd like to hear it in its proper sequence, here's the running order:
01. In Her Gentle Jaws 02. Sky Ghosts 03. Darklooming 04. Butterfly Kisses 05. Digital Solace 06. A Room, A Canvas 07. Parasol Parachute 08. Water Window 09. Nautilus 10. Heavy Eyes
...is a new weekly thing we're doing. Basically, we'll be posting a new video each Thursday of our beloved Famicom playing your favorite 80's/90's TV theme songs...cartoons, sitcoms, whatever.
Want to make a request? Send us a message, and if we think it's a good one, we'll program it and post a YouTube video... we'll even dedicate it to you! Why? Because we like you. A lot. And also because 80's and early 90's theme songs are totally absurd (especially on a nintendo).
Yes it's true, Akira has moved on from the Depreciation Guild. (Don't worry, we're still totally BFF).
Let's face it though, being in the Depreciation Guild isn't rocket science...however, Akira's college courses are, which is why he has (understandably) relinquished his position as axe-wielder/chip-bendologist in the band. We wish him the best of luck this summer studying abroad in Europe and next semester when he starts Grad school!!!
Taking up the reins is Christoph Hocheim, who believe me, will not disappoint...
To illustrate this, one needs not look any further than this video of Christoph and Charlotte's hedgehog, Uni.
