CONVERSATION KILLER/POET OR PROPHET

Hey folks....Our new single CONVERSATION KILLER/POET OR PROPHET will be released on fri 16th of may and will be available on itunes and from all GOOD record stores!!!!!
The songs were recorded at the melody ranch in kilkenny with leo pearson(U2,Elvis Costello...)before being brought over to Jim Spencer(The Charlatans,Johnny Marr,New order...)to mix at Big Mushroom studios just outside manchester...The single release will coincide with an instore in Tower Records on the 16th and a Headline show in Crawdaddy the following night.
We will shoot a video for Conversation Killer on Fri may 9th,anybody interested in being in it should leave us a message and we will get back to you with details....it will involve us doing a gig at a secret location with loads of free booze and we would love YOU to be a part of it!

Finally for the moment we would like to thank our manager ciara ogorman who has been fantastic over the last few months,in ciara we have found a 5th member who shares our attitude,belief and determination to get this band heard...for which we are grateful.Also,we would like to thank everyone for their continued support...we hope you like the new tunes and look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming gigs...

ART IN THE LIFE WORLD

Just something thats been running through my mind.....

Thanks to all those folks who came down to our last couple of shows and let us have their eyes and ears on a lot of new material. The last couple of months have been an experimental time for us,with drum rhythms taking some precedence in becoming the driving force in many of the songs.Those who know us will also be aware that a member has left us to pursue other things and also know only too well that we wish him the very best.
 Having begun again in a way with the reduction in numbers giving us an increased sense of purpose we are off next week to record some songs for release in the coming months.Our schedule has also given us no option but to cancel our SXSW appearance but we are encouraged by and thankful for their invite.We have decided to draught in the talents of  Leo Pearson (his track record speaks for itself) for these recording sessions and a short Irish tour will follow the release so expect to hear something special soon.

LAST STAND/MOON

JUST A QUICK MESSAGE TO LET ANYONE THATS INTERESTED KNOW THAT WE HAVE BEEN BUSY IN THE STUDIO RECORDING WHAT WILL BE OUR DEBUT SINGLE,JUST FINISHING MIXING AND MASTERING AT THE MOMENT AND HOPE TO GET IT RELEASED IN THE SUMMER,ALSO WE WILL BE BACK GIGGING VERY SOON,SO KEEP THE PEEPERS PEELED!!!!

THE STORY SO FAR............

Right ........Its been 9 months since we started this little Distractor project of ours,and it has been very like a pregnancy,we got fat....cranky.......and ate pork scratchins!!!!! We have played with Client,Protokoll,Air traffic,Humanzi to name a few,We have played to full venues and to not so full venues(we like to call them the character building ones),when we started the band last summer we were all mates who had been in other bands and we just wanted to see what we could do together,we didnt put a time limit on it,we said we would write some songs,play some gigs and try and have a good time doing it. Its a cliche i know,but we started writing songs for ourselves,if we didnt love our tunes,we wouldnt play them,we just hope you like them too.

We are very much looking to the future,we hope to get into the studio in april to record  what will be our first release,possibly available towards the summer.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support,and hope to see you all at our gigs in the future,you all know who you are and you know that we have as much of a good time hangin out with you lot at our gigs as you do with us!
