AVAILABLE NOW - "THE DOORS LIVE IN BOSTON April 10, 1970"

3-DISC CD SET

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Featuring more than three hours of music and mayhem, LIVE IN BOSTON finds keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger at the peak of their powers as Jim Morrison leads them on a booze-fueled romp through "Roadhouse Blues" and "Light My Fire," plus mind-bending journeys for "When The Music's Over" and Elvis Presley's "Mystery Train." Morrison also scatters spoken word gems throughout both performances.

THE DOORS LIVE IN BOSTON is mixed and mastered by engineer Bruce Botnick, who recorded several shows from The Doors' 1970 tour on multi-track tape for the Absolutely Live album. The superior quality of the original tape reflects Botnick and his team's attention to sonic detail. All but two tracks on this collection are previously unreleased. "These concerts are really interesting and very enjoyable," Botnick writes in the liner notes. The opening scream going into 'Roadhouse Blues' from the first show is stunning and worth the price of admission alone."

"THE DOORS LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA '70" TO BE AVAILABLE ON ITUNES AUGUST 21ST

The infamous Miami incident of March 1969 created sufficient controversy to cut short the remainder of that tour. The Doors played a date or two to round out the year, but it wasn't until 1970 that they recovered their momentum. The outstanding Morrison Hotel album was in stores, and the band was riding high on a wave of potent synergy. They kicked off the new tour in Boston on April 10th.

On August 21, you'll be able to purchase this amazing show via iTunes.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT THE GRAMMYS!

This year at the 49th Annual Grammy® Awards, The Doors were honored with The Recording Academy® Lifetime Achievement Award.  The Lifetime Achievement Award is given in recognition of performers who have had artistic careers of immeasurable influence and impact upon the music industry.

The Doors' award was accepted by guitarist Robby Krieger, keyboardist Ray Manzarek's brother Rick, and singer Jim Morrison's sister Anne. Drummer John Densmore was present via a video "thank you" during which he played tabla and recited a short selection from Morrison's poem, "American Prayer." Krieger thanked his fellow bandmates for allowing him into the band, revealing that "I'd only been playing guitar for three months at the time, but I didn't tell them that." He also thanked his father for some crucial early advice. "The first time my Dad met Jim Morrison, he looked at me and Ray and John and said, 'Boys, I think we better invest in a good criminal attorney.' And we did."
