420 info you want to know~

420 started in 1972 with six students at San Rafael High School in Marin County. They called themselves the "Waldos" because they didn't fit in with any of the established social groups at school. The Waldos really loved the New Riders of the Purple Sage, the first Grateful Dead spin off band. In the mid-seventies, the headquarters for the Grateful Dead was only a few blocks from San Rafael High School.

One day, one of the Waldos was given a map to an abandoned pot field located in a remote section of Marin County near the ocean. The Waldos met one day after school to go look for this pot patch and they decided to meet at the Louis Pasteur statue outside the school at 4:20. They reminded each other during the day about the planned adventure by saying "420" to each other in the hallways. They would spend many afternoons searching for the field, but never found it. Eventually, 420 became a Waldo code word for marijuana, a code that spread into the Grateful Dead scene, and eventually reached High Times magazine. After I discovered the code, I began organizing ceremonies at 420 at the Cannabis Cup, WHEE!, and other events. Before long, the code circled the globe and people in Japan, Australia, Netherlands, Brazil, and many other countries began celebrating marijuana at 4:20 p.m. I think 420 is important for a number of reasons. Not only is it the first big international holiday of cannabis culture, but it's also a helpful guide for responsible use. Unless you have a medical need, it's best to wait until 4:20 to become intoxicated. It's our "tea time" and "happy hour" rolled into one. And remember: The less you do, the higher you get. People who wait until 4:20 get a lot higher than breakfast bonghitters.

Who We Are

The GGDUB is 4 creative friends who have been working for the man for way toooo long~ So, we TRADEMARKED the name, got the URL and it is are goal to demonstrate to the world a more open-minded approach to the way we view smoking herb. We take about 40% of the pictures ourselves, but as you can see we make friends fast. We except pic's from others so that girls outside of California, can be part of the REVOLUTION~

Strait up~

"It cannot be because of the health impact, because that is exactly the other way around. There has never been a fatality from marijuana use among the 60 million reported users in the United States, whereas tobacco kills hundreds of thousands of people every year. My strong suspicion, though I do not know how to prove it, is that the reason is that marijuana is a weed, you can grow it in your backyard, so there is nobody who would make any money off it if it were legal. Tobacco requires extensive capital inputs and technology, and it can be monopolized, so there are people who can make a ton of money off it. I do not really see any other difference between the two of them, frankly except that tobacco is far more lethal and addictive."

Apple Pipe Girla~

I have recieved alot of of questions about how to create an apple pipe. So, here are the 5 simple steps.

Okay, all you need is an apple and a pen. (and some sweet leaf!)

1)Tear the stem off of the apple.

2) Take the pen and pierce a hole into the stem area, and stop halfway through the apple.

3)Take the pen, and pierce a second hole from the side of the apple, until it meets the center w/ the whole you previously created.

4)You should be able to blow into the side whole, and make sure it is a clear path into the next whole.

5)Place the weed on the stem area whole (on top). And place your mouth on the side whole. And then proceed with the smoking....

What is Girls Gone Weed~

Girls Gone Weed was born when we fogged the 4-runner while we were on a drive down the California coast line looking for waves or a suntan, ideally both. All we had was good herb, the sunshine and the weekend. The girls gone weed crew come from similar backgrounds. We are all native Californians or Hawaiians, with an unrequited love and respect for the ocean. Throughout the drive, we kept pipe dreaming and thinking of creative ideas, as we videotaped big clouds of smoke floating majestically throughout the car. We then came up with the whole Girls Gone Weed concept. Chill, sensitive, intelligent girls that like to swim, surf, read French poetry by the fire, burn joints and watch good movies, prefer any coffee over Starbucks, love music, wear shades on foggy days, eat well, look good, and feel good. As soon as we got home we got the URL and paid for the TRADEMARK and now we are making things happen. I think we all agree, motivated stoners are the best kind~
