Show with Deerhoof!
Current mood:  indescribable
We recently were invited to play Adam McKay's (director of "Anchorman", "Taladega Nights" and upcoming movie, "Stepbrothers") birthday party! He invited us and Deerhoof! It was so amazing and a dream come true to play with Deerhoof! They are the loveliest, most talented, sweetest band ever!! It was such an honor to play Adam McKay's birthday. He is truely the coolest, most hilarious, most loveable man in show biz. It was one of the greatest experiences ever. I posted pics of it in our pictures. Thanks for reading! xoxoxoxoxoxo, Sarah

SXSW Photos / Memories
A couple of weeks ago we embarked on our own odyssey of sorts. Our destination, the Mecca of indie rock, Austin, TX. Every year thousands of bands, like lemmings, go off to Austin in search of indie glory. Unlike them, our goal was simply to find good chiles in New Mexico, play in the snow, and rock out on nice backline bass rigs. Oh who am I kidding, we were in search of indie glory too....Below is a record of events. All photos are by Sterling Andrews.
Before we go on the road, Sarah freaks out from all the pressure:
On the drive to Flagstaff, Charlie rubs the lucky praying mantis:

Before the show in Flagstaff we eat Thai Food. We make a solemn pact that if we are ever in Flagstaff again, we will eat Thai.....or not:
Charlie plays bass in Flagstaff. The "crowd" goes wild:
After the show in Flagstaff, Sarah plays in the snow. She hadn’t seen snow since she was a gopher on the set of Seven Years in Tibet:
After the show, we go to Albuquerque. No pics of that night. After the show in Albuquerque, we sings songs w/ Rademacher in the hotel:
Chris doesn’t like Mike’s song so he tries to write his own. It puts Greer to sleep:
The next day we drive to Austin. On the way we stop in Hatch, NM, home to the famous Hatch chile. Charlie and Chris decide to bargain:
That guy was asking an arm and a leg for one bag of chile spices. Is the Hatch chile really that good? Charle decides to try one:
They are really good so we all try some:
For some reason, the chiles give us an elevated sense of granduer:
Oh yeah, some guy in Hatch killed a bull once:
Off we go to Austin! Our first night there we stay in a room with tons of Lord of the Rings memorabilia on the walls:
What the Fuck? Anyway, the next day we went to the Dirty Dog Bar early for our soundcheck:
Later that night we played our first SXSW show:

The next day we went to another bar to play a show. Before we played The Henry Clay People rawked the mic:
After THP played, we got ready to play:
Greer and Sarah laughed because Brad looks like Frank Zappa:

After the show Sarah thought she was sooooo cool. Charlie thinks "I wish I had an Ashdown bass rig to call my own."
Chris didn’t do that great so Sarah secretly tells Charlie that Chris is out of the band....but Chirs hears what she is saying:
The band breaks up. The end. ;) Just kidding!!

Many of the bands on the list we practically worship, so it was such an honor to even have our name listed next to theirs. All of the bands in the poll are just amazing. We feel so honored to have our EP included let alone voted for, thank you so much!!!

Nigerian Scam Letters
I don't know why, maybe because we are so big in Africa or something, but recently our Yahoo e-mail address has been flooded with Nigerian scam letters. Don't know what that is? Then read THIS.
I always enjoy reading these letters. They are just so entertaining...
Do you think maybe, just maybe, one of them could be real? I'm getting a screenplay idea here.
Anyway, here is the latest one sent to us:

AUDITING AND ACCOUNTING MANAGER,
BANK OF AFRICA (B.O.A)
OUAGADOUGOU-BURKINA FASO.
Dear Friend,
I am the AUDITING AND ACCOUNTING MANAGER BANK OF AFRICA (B.O.A) here in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. In my department we discovered an abandoned
sum of US$25m dollars (TWENTY FIVE MILLION US DOLLARS) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer (MR. ANDREAS SCHRANNER from
Munich, Germany) who died along with his entire family in Jully 2000 in a plane crash.
Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless some body applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidlings and laws but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill.
