Category: Music

We're not sure The Hoosiers ever had a silence to break, but it sounds a dramatic title for a news piece don't you think?

Anyway, them Hoosiers have been answering all your mad, bad and dangerous-to-know forum questions. What shoe size is Martin? What's really hidden under Alphonso's moustache? What kitchen utensil would Irwin pick to use in a fight?

Find all the answers to these, and many more questions in the Forum now: CLICK HERE!

What would be your choice of kitchen utensil in a duel? Spatula?

I'd hate to get all serious and obvious (and topical) and say a knife so I'll go for a pastry brush. Cocky or what?! I mean if you saw someone put down a knife and go for that pastry brush you'd have to think: "uh oh! This geez knows what he's doing!

Oooh in the song "This Town" what is the lyrics after "It's Ok, It's Alright"? We've tried everything!!
Got my beans around this town?

That's it: "got my beans around this town". Not really, but I like the imagination! It's "Got the beating of This Town Tonight". Technically that song is a government secret; you shouldn't even know it exists. Watch your back, yeah! XXX

Swear It On You Life lyrics... we think we've nearly decoded it, but the second verse...
"She institutionalised me, Her intuition denies me"?
Is that anywhere near the right lyrics?

Perfectamundo. Where is this leak in Camp Hoosier coming from? I suspect a mole and Martin's been burrowing an intricate system of tunnels lately so I think it's him

Is Alphonso thinking of patenting his mustache? Because I think he should.

Irwin here to field this one. Since 2006 Alphonso has had to pay a monthly 'tahe toll to the founder of the moustache: a Senor Juan Juan Fernando Juanandez.

If you could do anything you wanted for FOUR MINUTES, what would you do?

What was the craziest thing a fan had you sign?

A fan's cat. It was in a straight-jacket and mooing like a cow. Now that's that craziest thing I ever had to sign. Shoes is the runner-up.

WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO THE STATES?

As soon as we get a second record deal out there! We just got our LP back from our first crumbling label and hope to get out there in time to see some Colts games!

1. What... is your name? Arthur Pendragoon.
2. What... is your quest? To eat cheese.
3. What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? (European, of course) I'm a specialist of the African variety. Will leave this for my other Hoosiers.

Irwin, as a member of the smaller people of the world myself, I was wondering how you felt about being funsize? Personally I love it, until I have to buy trousers!

Trousers! Tell me about it. That's why I'm bringing back the turn-up! Otherwise there's no point feeling sorry for yourself cos you're short - that never gets anything done. Like someone's ma probably said at some point: "You gotta make that most of what you've got". Don't go for surgery, my sweet, smaller people! Stay natural.

Alphonso, I love your moustache, but what compelled you to grow it in the first place? Or are you secretly trying to hide something beneath it? Hmm...

My upper lip (not dissimilarily to the small girl in WaterWorld) contains a very detailed map of the London Tube system. But please do not tell anyone, if this gets out I am a dead man.

Martin, have you ever been sick in one of your hats? I know those Swedish seas can be a bit rough!

No, but once I had to "unknit" one to make a pair of gloves.

All Hoosiers, can you sing happy birthday to me on the 25th october at Brighton Centre. Its my 18th, I will bring the cake if you bring the songs! he he!

If you play run rabbit, run backwards it is actually Stevie Wonder's "happy birthday". Will that do?

What do you take on tour with you that reminds you of home and keeps you grounded?

My entire sock collection, so that the choice is still there just like at home.

If you could live anywhere in the world, and you could take family and friends with you so you didn't have to worry about leaving them behind.....where would you live and why ?

Probably somewhere in the eastern block.

What's the best thing a fans ever done for you? Said/Given/Made?Have you liked all our birthday present things?

The birthday drawings I got were wicked! The time it must have taken! If I'm gonna single something out tho it would have to be the "Hoosierettes and the food for life", well funny!

What size shoes are you all?
~Would you give me ONE of your shoes, like i give you a shoe, you give me a shoe. Fabby dabby idea, oui? (my feet are size 7)

8, 9 and 10 me thinks. You can have em all when I grow out of them.

Will you join me on doing the chicken dance whilst singing that weird song by Rod Stewart?

If you can get Rod in on it.

Will you also join Betty, Shakespeare, John, Bobby G and me in the invisible hut under the willow tree (which turns ORANGE in autumn/winter) for a tea party?

Yes, as long as I'll be in bed for 9.

And in the words of the match.com advert, "If you could change your name to a laaaadddiees name, what would you change your name to?"
'Cause I think that is an awesome question, awesomer than awesome itself, tadaaa!

If I was to change our names to girls names I would change them as follows - Irwin would be Trixy, Martin would be Adrian and I would be - Penvelope (an Anagram of Alphonso)

Last one (mainly applies to Sparkes):
~Does it ever REALLY annoy you (or freak you out) when people(fans) ask you to marry them? 'Cause if people/fans said that to me I'd probably whack 'em 'round the face. It makes me want to hit them (virtually) when they say that they, "lurve" you and "wanna marry" you, or if they actually ask you to marry them. So RAWR! By the way, I'm not a violent person, honest. :)

Its all good?

What's the stupidest thing you've ever done in public?

I once got off a stop later than I was meant to when I was riding the 29 to Boots pharmacy. As a result I had to cross quite a dangerous road which didn't have traffic lights or a zebra crossing.

If you had a packet of Rolos, who would you give your last one to?

I don't like Rolos - so.... no.

If you were the rulers of the world for one day, what would you do?

Draw straight edges and maybe measure to see if my forearm was the same length as my finger span.

What's the strangest thing that has happened to you since you've become famous?

I was intrigued to find that when I asked for discount from my milkman he refused - when I told him that i was Alphonso from the Hoosiers he said that he couldn't care less. I found that deeply surprising.

Vote us for DMAs, you know you want to!
Category: Music

Hello, hello, lovely surfers of the interweb and fans of all things Hoosier.

We have important instructions of a serious nature that must be dealt with seriously and with the upmost importance, so read close.

In just over a month many genius music industry professional types will gather together for the BT Digital Music Awards. These awards are the only awards to honour digital music entertainment exclusively (by this we mean all things of a computer/internet like nature - downloads, videos, blogs, web-pages etc.) and we have been nominated for The People's Choice award. Yes.

As you know, this year has been massive for us in terms of digital frolickings, what with the launch of an entire new (beautiful) website and a commitment to putting up as much stuff as we can online for you guys to enjoy.

So, would you all be brilliant people and vote for us? All you need do is follow THIS LINK to add your vote and we would be massively appreciative and most likely dance for joy!

Writing, Rune stones and trees....and anime

Hello.

We went to Japan earlier this month to play the summer sonic festival. That in itself isn't an immensely ground breaking news story but it sure was exciting too play in front of a crowd so far away from home. For those of you who were there, thanks for being there! We had a great time both in Osaka and Tokyo. We did for the second time meet up with Frogman who is the creator of the animated movies "Eagle Talon The Movie - The Chancellor Only Lives Twice" and "EAGLE TALON The Movie 2 - The black oolong tea which loved me". In the latter, as I'm sure we have mentioned before, Goodbye Mr A is used over the end titles but that isn't the only involvement we have. Frogman threw in a hoosier cameo appearance in the mix and even based the bad guy on the song and hence named the big baddie "MR A"...wicked! Look here for a peek at how it looked.

August also brought us to Sweden for a week of song-writing which we had been looking forward to for quite some time (some new pics are up from there). All the ideas we had gathered over the months of touring could finally start taking shape into something closer to what it might sound like on the next album, if what we have done so far actually will make the album that is. The plan is to show you some new tunes on the October tour or "Octourber" if you will. September will give us time to write and chisel out the foundations of the future hoosier sounds and continue what was started during that week of isolation in the wilderness of Stockholm's northern archipelago.
We did some playing, some writing and some walking and spotting rune stones that the Vikings were kind enough to leave for us and at one point we tried to swim across the lake to what we call the "Cow-island" (Which is actually not an island but rather the other side of the lake where there are always loads of our mooing brethren hanging out) on an inflatable mattress but we soon gave up to the the sheer distance and the fact the the water was pretty damn cold. We lodged ourselves in some tiny little red huts and set up our instruments in the largest one which soon got the name the hit hut but we realized that this might have to be the shit hut if we didn't start doing some work so work we did. You can judge for yourselves when you hear the next album if it was a shit hot hit hut or just a hut where we happened to stay for a week.
Regardless of that they were red with green frames for you to paint the picture.

I'm gonna cook some soup now. Might even poach an egg in it.

A mountain of love
Martin
