Tour so far
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music
We've been on tour a week and so much has happened. Some bad, mostly great, but here you go... I guess tour officially started in Atlanta last Monday at Smith's Old Bar. We had a fun show w/ our friends The Dollyrots and proceeded to stay up way too late with those guys and then do a million last minute things before taking off to Birmingham, AL the next day. I was starting to not feel so good but I tried to ignore it. A sore throat for a singer not 2 days into tour is not good. Off to New Orleans! We played the HiHo Lounge which is a super cool place with cool people. We find out that day that our show in Houston is canceled because "the club shut down". We're bummed, but what can you do? I wake up in New Orleans super sick and go to urgent care. They tell me I have strep throat and give me 3 shots of something that made me feel better pretty quick, so I'm psyched. Off to Austin- we love it there! We have lots of friends there and now we have more. Oh, wait did I mention, now we find out there was a knife fight at the club in Waco, so we now have two canceled shows. Awesome. Not really. Our show in Austin w/ One-Eyed Doll was great, and I was excited to play with them again. So now we have two days off, so we're scrounging around for shows to see if we can fill either of those dates. We're sitting at our friend Doss' house around oh 4am and Dave from the Krum Bums decides we are doing a show outside Bombs Away- a cool punk rock clothing store, next to a pizza joint and a killer record shop. Meanwhile, we do some digging about this club that shut down in Houston. Turns out, the club was having to scramble to re book the night because the promoter told the club that we said we weren't coming due to financial reasons. Flat out lies!! So uncool. Anyways, we ended up having a blast in the parking lot outside Liz's store, Bombs Away! Check out the pix in our pix section. Mike Truth, the promoter from our Austin show got us added on to a show in San Antonio, so we lucked out there, too. We got to hang w/ our friends in Madex 13 too, so that was a bonus! Now the drive where you have to make sure your gas tank is full from San Antonio to El Paso. I don't remember how long it was supposed to be, but we left around 8am and got there at show time. An 18 wheeler ran over a cone and it came flying at us. Bout an hour later our faithful Sprinter decides it can't go above about 45 mph up a hill and we could catch about 60mph with a good tail wind and downhill. Keep in mind, this is where the speed limits are posted as 75mph so everyone is flying by us. Kinda stressful, but we played the show and I went to the mechanic at 7 am and had us on the road by noon. That left us time to see the famous roadside attraction "The Thing" in New Mexico , and get lunch and a Scorpion Bowl at the Kon Tiki in Albuquerque. All speed bumps aside, and lying promoters. grr. we are having a blast flying by the collective seat of our pants, and have met and hung out with some amazing friends- new and old. Off to LA!!- xxoo, Amy

Tour Blog
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music
I haven’t written a blog in awhile, so I don’t know where to start on catching everybody up. We’ve had some ups and downs on this tour, but everything aside, we are all having a great time. So what’s everything you ask? Well, Our first stop on the tour was a Friday night in Jasper, Alabama. Our plan was to rock Jasper, come back through Atlanta so Shane, Jay and I could do the February Silver Scream Spook Show, and then go on to St. Louis to freeze our asses off until we got back down south. Well Foxy, our ’88 Ford Econoline, had other plans. We made it 15 miles outside of town, stopped for gas, and noticed our radiator was spewing fluid and smoke everywhere. So, we cooled it down, crossed our fingers, called in a bunch of favors and made it back to Atlanta in hopes to get Foxy ready for the rest of the tour. By this time, we got word that our St. Louis show had canceled, which sucked, but gave us an extra day to get the van situation figured out. We had our friend Travis looking at the van who thought he could have it ready that night. I got a text at 5 am saying things are not looking good with the van. To say I was stressed out at this point would have been an understatement. The show must go on, so the monthly shenanigans of the Spook Show ensued with the 1’oclock day show. In between rehearsals, and setting up for the show, I am online looking for a new van because at this point, I don’t have alot of faith in Foxy, no offense ’ol girl. So in between day show and night show I go with Jay to look at a Sprinter. You know those boxy Euro diesel vans? Oh, and btw, you can’t put more than 3,000 miles on a rental in 1 month, and we’ve already gone over 5,000 miles, because I looked into that, as well. A few hours later I pull up to the night show with our new- yet to be named- completely under warranty-Sprinter! We all knock out the spook show and pack up about 2am or so. Bright and early the next morning Shane and Jay equipped with loft supplies construct a cage for our gear that doubles as a bed/ loft in the van. We leave for tour Sunday night to make it to our Springfield, IL (famous for The Simpsons and Lincoln) show the next day. Psyched to get officially started we load in our gear in 20 degree weather, rock the show, and hop back in the van to get some miles in that night. I guess it was around this time my back started to get pissed off at me. The next morning I literally could not get out of bed. I was on the phone with my chiropractor and found somewhere in Dayton? maybe, to get adjusted. The next few days were pretty tough and you’d understand more why if you have already seen us live. Moving forward- so, my back is starting to feel better, and we head up to New Hampshire and Mass to do a few shows with some friends who happen to be sick. Everyone in Ashers denies their involvement in getting us all sick, ha, ha but really who knows, the weather was still freezing up there and I’m sure there were a bunch of you guys at those shows who were sick. No point in fessing up now, you can’t keep a good Luchagor down, anyways, at least not for long! I completely lost my voice for a couple days and was really starting to freak out. Not just because it’s annoying, but we are in the middle of a tour! We did have to cancel one show because of it, and that totally sucks, but we’ll be back to the Pittsburgh area. Now we are heading back through the south. We made a pit stop in Knoxville- much shorter than we anticipated- to find out that the promoter was like Luchagor who? Nope- no one here by that name. Man, and I was hoping Dolly Parton was going to be there tonight! Well, I am typing this as we are on the way to Richmond for our show tomorrow and to see some friends, as it is my old stomping grounds. We have met a lot of street team members and we need more!! If this blog is for nothing else, I hope you guys see how much effort we put into this band. It’s just the 4 of us on the open road, plowing our way through whatever road blocks stand in our way. One show at a time, uniting and creating Luchawhores everywhere!!! We all appreciate your support and love getting to meet and hang out with everyone after the shows. Take care out there- and we will too!!- xxoo, amy

New news- Old drummer
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
I just noticed I hadn't written since our album was released. Sorry guys! I have been stuck in the house all week sick. The weather has been great, but I haven't been able to do anything except lay around and not want any human contact. I managed to get to th Street Dogs the other night who are better every time I see them. Good job to the street team who helped getting the word out about our pre-orders. We ended up having a lot more than I thought we would. I have to admit I was cursing you all with posters and packing supplies strewn all over my house for about 2 weeks. I think we have taken care of everyone, and if we haven't, let us know cuz we did have a few issues with the post office. We have now turned that over to the guys at CDBaby, who have been great and are alot more efficient than we are. You can also get it through interpunk.com, and we are working on distribution so you guys can pick it up at a real live store. So we tried out some drummers and even played a show with our friend, Kevin, but Troy has decided he's in and we're all excited about that, but if he's ever a jerk to you, smack him and tell him it's from me! He still owes The Dollyrots an apology!! So- moving on, oh yeah, tour! We are gonna do a small run in the 1st week of December, or so and are looking to be out as much as possible starting in '08. We are posting shows as we get them so check back. I did an interview for Metal-Edge magazine that should be in next month's edition, so look out for that. Um, I think that's it for now. Talk at ya sooner than later- or see you out 1st week in Dec!- xxoo, Amy

BIG NEWS! (Are you sitting down? )
Current mood: giddy
Category: Music
WE HAVE A RELEASE DATE!!!!!!!!! Tuesday, September 11th you can own your very own copy of our 11 track self titled CD. We don't have a distro deal with anyone, so it won't be available in stores. We are taking pre-orders now through luchagors.com, or by money orders made out to "The Luchagors" for 15$ including postage for all U.S. orders @ P.O 192 Scottdale,GA 30079. All pre orders come with a signed poster that you can only get if you order the CD through the site. You can also get a copy through CDBaby and itunes, and I'm sure after September 11th you can probably get it for free somewhere on line, too. BUT- We've have all worked really hard and don't have support from any label or "the man", so to speak, so PLEASE be nice Luchawhores and actually purchase our CD, and please encourage others to do the same. Cuz see, if you steal the CD, you aren't stealing from some nameless, faceless corporation, you are stealing directly from us (insert 4 sad puppy dog eyed luchagor faces here). G download some free stuff from some big label that won't notice or care if you must :) Moving on..... Be a part of our street team! The time has come for that, as well. Go sign up at fancorps.com/theluchagors and we'll tell you just how you can help us. We need to spread the gospel of the almighty Luchagor, and we can't do that without you. We'll have fun contests and insider street team only stuff, too. Our 1st contest is already underway with the winner getting a free CD, signed poster, AND... a special secret prize mmmuuaaahh haahhaa! We will also have a new shirt available to order up by Monday so check the site. Oh yeah, and wadda think about our teaser track? It's kind of mean, really, but we were too excited, we had to let you hear a little. Alright, we've been busy getting all this stuff together, so now YOU get busy getting all our stuff together! And if you're really nice I'll put up new pictures from this coming weekend @ Dragon Con and our show tomorrow with The Dollyrots- or maybe i'll just put them up on the street team website @ fancorps.com/theluchagors mmmmmmuuaaahh haahhaa!!!!!!!!!- yes, I am excited and virtually giddy about our CD finally coming out! xxoo amy

New CD, New Drummer- all kinds of stuff
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
Bad Luchagors!- No blog in forever! So... Lemme see.. Mexico- well, let's just say the vacation part of it was a blast. The guys had never been to Mexico City before and it's one of my all time favorite places, so it was cool to be able to show them around. The show.., well let's just say that Triple A was not ready to handle the production and equipment that is required for a band to play on their show, and unfortunately, we had to find out the hard way. I'm going to assume they're just going to stick to putting on a wrestling show. Our CD is officially in the duplication process. We will begin taking pre orders as soon as they give us a ship date. We are looking to start a street team to help us spread the word, so contact luchagors.com tell them you are interested and they will hook it up. We've got fun exclusives for street team members, so don't wait to sign up. Our drummer, Troy, decided he didn't have the desire or level of commitment needed to rock you "Luchawhores". Not to worry, as we have already had several inquiries and are excited about finding the final piece of the the group who wants to go out on the road and meet you guys. Anyone who can make it to DragonCon this year should not pass that up. We hope to have our CD's unofficially on sale that weekend, and we're playing Friday night. I'll let you know when you can pre- order CD's and post pictures as soon as we confirm our new 4th member. xxoo, amy

We really do have a CD coming out
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
So how goes it, guys? The gors have been super busy, I haven't even seen PIRATES yet!!! We just played our first 2 out of town shows and are beginning to talk to people about touring. The whole band has been a bit overzealous and I know I originally told you guys the CD would be out in April and here it is almost June and still NO CD!! Yes, I know you Luchawhores are getting impatient. Well, it's not for a lack of trying. We are doing everything ourselves and we are all our own worst critics, so we want everything 'just so' before you guys lay eyes on it. Not to mention, all the legal mumbo jumbo that goes along with it all. I'm sending out a bunch of orders from the Luchastore (luchagors.com) so be checking your mailboxes if you placed an order, and if ya didn't, well what are you waiting for??? Thanks, you guys in Macon for showing us love when we came down there. We all had a blast. We've also received a ton of emails and comments about our 600fest show in Charlotte, NC this past weekend. Other than all of us baking on stage and you guys in the crowd, while the sun did feel like it could literally cook us we can't wait to go back and play Charlotte again. Send us your pics from the event. I want to see 'em. I finally played a track off our new album this past week on PunkRockalypse. The Luchagors are definitely the most requested band on the show. For those of you guys that haven't tuned in yet, what are you waiting for??? Oh, wait I already used that one. You can listen to it if you don't live in Atlanta on project961.com every Sunday night @ 9pm. I have the funniest foster dog right now. Ya know, the kind you just look at and have to smile cuz he's so damn goofy looking. I say he's a terrier/goat mix if you can get that picture in your head. His name is Bert, he was found in a DUMPSTER w/ his brother Ernie. I just can't believe the inhumane qualities that humans posses sometimes. I really enjoy my work @ the shelter and of course I am happy each time a dog goes to their new home, but ignorant people continue to exacerbate the ongoing overpopulation problem. The shelter I am currently volunteering at is a no kill shelter, but the reality is that there are still over 1 MILLION dogs euthanized every year. Numbers are hard to digest, but when I look at Bert and think that if would not have made it to a no kill shelter he would have been a number. Hmmm, well that was quite the tangent. On another note, I am really excited that summer is here. I already went to 6 Flags this year and I am ready to actually have a summer. This year's Memorial Day was the first time I was not at a RAW in 7 years. There were summers I never put on a bathing suit unless I was getting photographed in it! That's how busy I stayed. I stay busy now, but it just feels totally different and not stressful. I am excited to be busy, not overwhelmed. Well, that about does it, we'll fill your orders asap from the luchastore, I'll get your requests on PunkRockalypse when I can, I'll let you know as soon as I do on an exact date for our CD release and you guys do me 1 favor.... SPAY and NEUTER YOUR DAMN PETS!!!!!!!!

It's getting closer!!
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Music
We just finished all the tracks for our impending album. I don't pat myself on the back too often, but IT SO ROCKS!!!! I can't wait to unleash it to the masses. Rachel still has to mix it and it still has to mastered and stuff, but soon! So Matt Roberts came back in town to shoot the band on one of our last days in the studio. We got a bunch of good stuff and I'm sure you will see more of that around. Our friend Evan Bartleson from the band Black Daniels came in on the last night and documented us laying down the final tracks. We had some friends come into the studio to help yell on some gang vocal stuff. Stacey6, bass player and back up screamer for Damage Report came in and yelled for us, as well a long time friend of the band Eric Snoddy. You guys might remember him from my book as 'Noodlehead', or maybe not. Our friend Melissa was being shy at first, but had a blast yelling along to The Luchagors. It was a great end to a great recording session. Well, we had fun, Rachel was having a hard time with us bein all crazy and social, but that's what he holds the whip for! We are all really proud of this and even the guys, who have all been in bands their whole adult lives have really pushed ourselves to make this record something really special.

El Santo and The Luchagors
Current mood: quixotic
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
On the day we were all excited to start recording our record, our day got even more awesome! We got a call from Cartoon Network asking us to be a part of the promotion for Santo's new animated series. He was so surprised when I walked it and greeted him, as I hadn't seen him since the WWE was in Mexico. I have never felt a stronger presence around someone who is probably 5'6". If you are not familiar with him, you should check out some of his work. Wrestling is just the start. I think the movies the he and his father made are the best. so anyways, they interviewed the band and we all got to share our love of Santo! The makeup artist had to hold Troy's hand as she busted his TV makeup cherry. Shane's classic statement was that there are only 3 cross cultural icons- Mickey Mouse, Godzilla and SANTO, talk about some profound shit, and if that doesn't make the sound bite reel, I'll be surprised. I was a motor mouth, and Jay reflected on how he's been in the band 8 weeks and just took a picture that will be hung in his house forever. It was a great start to an awesome all night session in the studio. Troy rocked it til 3am, and we finished drum tracking the next day. We are plugging away on the record and it's really cool to feel all the awesome energy bouncin off everyone when we are rockin it in the studio. I'll keep you guys posted- amy
