Have you ever wanted The Posies to cover a certain song?
Category: Music

HERE IS YOUR CHANCE!

The Stranger newspaper in Seattle does an auction every year where local folks donate goods and services and all of the money raised goes to help homeless people in our community. They raised over $40,000 last year!

Here is where The Posies come in. Jon and Ken are donating one cover song of the winning bidders choice to the auction this year.

There is a twist! (Isn't there always?)

Each of them will do their own version of the song, so in the end you get two songs for the price of one and a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see how Jon and Ken would each cover the same song!
(This is for your own personal use only, of course.)

All of the bidding is done via Ebay and the auction goes live on December fifth.

Since it is on Ebay, it would be super easy for everyone to participate,
even you folks that don't live in Seattle, and since the US$ is crap right
now, folks with Euros have a major advantage in any bidding war!

añadió algún tiempo extra a nuestra vuelta.

The Posies.

Apology to Madrid fans

Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that our late appearance last night was a complete misunderstanding on several people's parts. We were told that we were to go onstage after 11pm, and there was no curfew. We were still soundchecking at 8.45, and requested some cabs to take us to a restaurant for dinner (you know we spend all day in a van getting from town to town, so dinner at some point is essential). The club made no mention of anything like "hey, you're on soon, so where are you going?" We told them we'd be back by 11-11.30 and they said, "no problem". Somehow, as the doors opened at 9.30, people got the impression we were to go on at 9.30, and this was never the case. We have a contract that says the stage time is 11pm. And, hey, it's Spain--we've been told at the last minute by promoters in Spain that our stage time has suddenly moved back three hours, for no apparent reason. So, we figured 30-45 minutes of time would be OK. Suddenly we all had trouble to get cabs, so it added some time to our return. So, we were under the impression that we were an hour late, for which we felt bad enough--only to discover that the audience had been given the impression that we were a couple of hours late. So, I can only say--the club should have done a better job communicating to us and to you the correct times. If we had thought we were going on at, say, 10, we would never have left the club. But, there was no mention.

At the end i can only say: we are only human, and as professional as I believe we are, sometimes, things just go wrong. It wasn't our intention to make you wait. 99 nights out of 100, we are professional, on time, and give our shows are all. We still gave last night our all, we were just late, and you thought we were even later. Perhaps you could direct a few complaints to Gruta 77 for telling you/us the wrong times.

Thanks for your understanding, see you next time.

Love
the Posies
