New beginnings

Hi Everyone;    I'm back on line and the RainHouse has moved to Colorado, the Four Corners area.  It is so beautiful here and Mesa Verde is calling me often.  I am honored to be here.  I had hoped for a place that was clean and healthy but.........it appears that there are very few of those left in the united states.  The main issues here are the coal fire power plants in new mexico.  Of course, there is no big wall to keep the pollution out.  We are working to change the issue but it will take time.  We are doing another Solar air panel workshop in January.  If you would like to see and download the manual go to the website:  www.rainhouse.org

World Peace and Prayer day June 21

All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer!

If you plan on holding or hosting a Gathering on June 21st, please contact us so that we may compile a list. If you would like your listing information to be posted, please indicate the name of the site, directions, contact person and number or email. This will allow others in your area to find and join your celebration.

Whether it is a Temple, Church Congregation, religious organization or Mosques, if people are gathering in communities, openly upon the earth or Sacred Sites, please note that proper protocols of Indigenous representation for any particular ceremonial activity should be done. An Indigenous Traditional representative should be present to run their particular ceremony.

If desired; we as First Nation People are willing to share the sacred fire and offering of tobacco with prayers in a united effort. We feel that all that is needed to gather is: to have people bring a gift of food to share, as a pot luck and their energy of concerned prayers. This is also the safest and most respectful way to treat Indigenous Traditional values and concerns of proper protocol. (Wolakota sponsored WPPD events have always only used the fire and tobacco circles for the united effort of prayers.)

Out of respect for Sacred Ceremonies to not be advertised on the internet, if you are listing a traditional ceremonial rites of a particular Indigenious Nation, we only will post a general location of where people are doing prayers.

Any extra financial needs can be raised through grass root funding. We highly stress that no major grant writing should be done. This should be an opportunity to empower the people's desire to come together to pray for Grandmother Earth. (*note: if you are aware of this boundary of respect being crossed, please contact the webmaster of this site.)

Codex is a trade commission who wants to control global food. They have 4000 guidelines and standards except pharmaceuticals. But they have no legal standing. The WHO and FHO run the organization, which creates a conflict of interests. July 4th 2006 vitamins and minerals guidelines were put forth to the commission of the World Health Organization. In order to control food standards the WTO will use the Codex standards for issues brought to them, and the organization in compliance with Codex wins the dispute.
These standards will become law in 2009.
In 1994 declared nutrients as toxins, poisons!

The FDA has been known to use legal maneuvering to try to end your access to natural health products (like vitamins, minerals and herbs) and natural health therapies of all sorts. We believe they are at it again. This time, their ploy is to issue a "Guidance" that implies these therapies can be "Medicine," which creates the risk that any non-physician who uses them could be held to be practicing medicine without a license. Since these practices could be considered "Medicine" any products intended for such use could be considered untested drugs and could therefore be forbidden.

More info on the Mercury clean up from energy efficient light bulbs

Mercury in CFLs are present as elemental (or metallic) mercury. Once spilled, you can be exposed to elemental mercury by touching it, after which it can be eaten and/or absorbed through your skin. More importantly for health, you can also be exposed to mercury through the air, as elemental mercury vaporizes readily (essentially becomes a gas) and can thus be inhaled into your lungs. Breathing elemental mercury into your lungs is generally more dangerous than if you ate the mercury or absorbed it through your skin. Once inhaled, the mercury vapor can damage the central nervous system, kidneys, and liver.

Warning From Friends of the Earth

Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), chair of the Senate Energy and Resources Committee, has passed through his committee a bill that would require an annual production of 36 billion gallons of biofuels per year by 2022. This bill is on course to be the backbone of major energy legislation that will come to a vote on the Senate floor in early June.

What?!? But aren't biofuels an alternative to fossil fuels - and part of the answer to energy security? Shouldn't an environmental group like Friends of the Earth be backing such initiatives?

The truth is that biofuels can be a good alternative to oil and coal, and Friends of the Earth is excited about the opportunities offered by the production of some biofuels. But science matters, and science tells us that not all biofuels are created equal.

Sen. Bingaman's bill would mandate production of up to 15 billion gallons of corn ethanol - equivalent to half the corn currently grown in the entire United States. This is not a clean prospect.

Growing and processing this much corn for fuel would:
* Create over 100 million metric tons of global warming pollution
* Lead to the ecologically damaging conversion of millions of acres of land
* Increase non-sustainable agriculture, erosion, pesticide use and fertilizer use
* Require 60 billion gallons of water
* Drive the price of corn through the roof, effectively taking it out of the diet of many of the world's poor (the amount of corn it would take to fill one 25-gallon SUV tank with ethanol could feed a person for a year!)

Perhaps most discouraging, recent reports suggest the burning of corn ethanol generates as much or more pollution as the burning of gasoline.

Senators need to know there are promising biofuel crops out there - including switchgrass and even algae - that can be converted to fuel with less intensive use of resources and result in cleaner final products. Like many things, the devil is in the details, and when it comes to biofuels the Senate must pay attention to those details.

Our activists in states with a senator serving on Bingaman's committee weighed in before this bill passed out of committee, and their pressure helped Friends of the Earth staff negotiate important improvements - including mandates for a 20 percent reduction in greenhouse gasses for biofuels produced in newly built factories. But this bill is still far too bad to support. Tell both of your senators that Sen. Bingaman's bill, as written, should not be the foundation for major energy legislation.

The old ones say two things must be present for a miracle to take place. One, the right time. Two, the right place. This is why we need to honor our ceremonies. Ceremonies are done in an order. This order is applied to open a "door" to the right time and place of the medicine. This door opens to the Spiritual World. The Spiritual World is available to us at the right time and the right place.

My Creator, let me be patient today so the timing is right.
