LUCHAGORS tour blog
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music

I haven’t written a blog in awhile, so I don’t know where to start on catching everybody up. We’ve had some ups and downs on this tour, but everything aside, we are all having a great time. So what’s everything you ask? Well, Our first stop on the tour was a Friday night in Jasper, Alabama. Our plan was to rock Jasper, come back through Atlanta so Shane, Jay and I could do the February Silver Scream Spook Show, and then go on to St. Louis to freeze our asses off until we got back down south. Well Foxy, our ’88 Ford Econoline, had other plans. We made it 15 miles outside of town, stopped for gas, and noticed our radiator was spewing fluid and smoke everywhere. So, we cooled it down, crossed our fingers, called in a bunch of favors and made it back to Atlanta in hopes to get Foxy ready for the rest of the tour. By this time, we got word that our St. Louis show had canceled, which sucked, but gave us an extra day to get the van situation figured out. We had our friend Travis looking at the van who thought he could have it ready that night. I got a text at 5 am saying things are not looking good with the van. To say I was stressed out at this point would have been an understatement. The show must go on, so the monthly shenanigans of the Spook Show ensued with the 1’oclock day show. In between rehearsals, and setting up for the show, I am online looking for a new van because at this point, I don’t have alot of faith in Foxy, no offense ’ol girl. So in between day show and night show I go with Jay to look at a Sprinter. You know those boxy Euro diesel vans? Oh, and btw, you can’t put more than 3,000 miles on a rental in 1 month, and we’ve already gone over 5,000 miles, because I looked into that, as well. A few hours later I pull up to the night show with our new- yet to be named- completely under warranty-Sprinter! We all knock out the spook show and pack up about 2am or so. Bright and early the next morning Shane and Jay equipped with loft supplies construct a cage for our gear that doubles as a bed/ loft in the van. We leave for tour Sunday night to make it to our Springfield, IL (famous for The Simpsons and Lincoln) show the next day. Psyched to get officially started we load in our gear in 20 degree weather, rock the show, and hop back in the van to get some miles in that night. I guess it was around this time my back started to get pissed off at me. The next morning I literally could not get out of bed. I was on the phone with my chiropractor and found somewhere in Dayton? maybe, to get adjusted. The next few days were pretty tough and you’d understand more why if you have already seen us live. Moving forward- so, my back is starting to feel better, and we head up to New Hampshire and Mass to do a few shows with some friends who happen to be sick. Everyone in Ashers denies their involvement in getting us all sick, ha, ha but really who knows, the weather was still freezing up there and I’m sure there were a bunch of you guys at those shows who were sick. No point in fessing up now, you can’t keep a good Luchagor down, anyways, at least not for long! I completely lost my voice for a couple days and was really starting to freak out. Not just because it’s annoying, but we are in the middle of a tour! We did have to cancel one show because of it, and that totally sucks, but we’ll be back to the Pittsburgh area. Now we are heading back through the south. We made a pit stop in Knoxville- much shorter than we anticipated- to find out that the promoter was like Luchagor who? Nope- no one here by that name. Man, and I was hoping Dolly Parton was going to be there tonight! Well, I am typing this as we are on the way to Richmond for our show tomorrow and to see some friends, as it is my old stomping grounds. We have met a lot of street team members and we need more!! If this blog is for nothing else, I hope you guys see how much effort we put into this band. It’s just the 4 of us on the open road, plowing our way through whatever road blocks stand in our way. One show at a time, uniting and creating Luchawhores everywhere!!! We all appreciate your support and love getting to meet and hang out with everyone after the shows. Take care out there- and we will too!!- xxoo, amy

Vegas signing Saturday the 19th
Current mood: chipper

Hey guys just wanted to let everyone know I will be in Vegas this weekend for a signing and punk rock bowling. The signing will be at Legacy Sports Cards @ 3655 S. Durango Drive at the corner if Durango and Twain. It is on Saturday from 1-3pm. If you have questions call (702)341-6425. I know there was some confusion about me possibly doing a signing here before, turns out someone I don't speak to was acting as my "agent" and I had no knowledge that I was supposed to be there. Sorry for anyone who showed up, but I give you my word, that now that I know I am supposed to be there, I'll be there. It's not that hard. I just gotta know. Oh, and by the way.. I don't even have an agent. If you are in the area- see you there!!! - xxoo, amy

My new CD- Pre Order Now!!
Current mood: giddy

Hi guys, is been awhile, but my band The Luchagors HAVE A RELEASE DATE!!!!!!!!! Tuesday, September 11th you can own your very own copy of our 11 track self titled CD. We don't have a distro deal with anyone, so it won't be available in stores. We are taking pre-orders now through luchagors.com. All pre orders come with a signed poster that you can only get if you order the CD through the site. You can also get a copy through CDBaby and itunes, and I'm sure after September 11th you can probably get it for free somewhere on line, too. BUT- We've have all worked really hard and don't have support from any label or "the man", so to speak, so PLEASE be nice Luchawhores and actually purchase our CD, and please encourage others to do the same. Cuz see, if you steal the CD, you aren't stealing from some nameless, faceless corporation, you are stealing directly from us (insert 4 sad puppy dog eyed luchagor faces here). G download some free stuff from some big label that won't notice or care if you must :) Moving on..... Be a part of our street team! The time has come for that, as well. Go sign up at fancorps.com/theluchagors and we'll tell you just how you can help us. We need to spread the gospel of the almighty Luchagor, and we can't do that without you. We'll have fun contests and insider street team only stuff, too. Our 1st contest is already underway with the winner getting a free CD, signed poster, AND... a special secret prize mmmuuaaahh haahhaa! We will also have a new shirt available to order up by Monday so check the site. Oh yeah, and wadda think about our teaser track? It's kind of mean, really, but we were too excited, we had to let you hear a little. Alright, we've been busy getting all this stuff together, so now YOU get busy getting all our stuff together! And if you're really nice I'll put up new pictures from this coming weekend @ Dragon Con and our show tomorrow with The Dollyrots- or maybe i'll just put them up on the street team website @ fancorps.com/theluchagors mmmmmmuuaaahh haahhaa!!!!!!!!!- yes, I am excited and virtually giddy about our CD finally coming out! xxoo amy

iTunes!!! I am addicted
Current mood: dorky
Category: Music

So, as some of you may or may not know, I now have a punk show 1x a week on Sundays on Project96.1, here in Atlanta. I come up with the play list every week. Some of the music I might not have listened to in years, other times the band has broken up, but now they are in another band or whatever. I'll cruise Itunes and look for new music for the show or get stuff that I only had on vinyl. I knew this was becoming a problem when I'd have free time, and I'd start thinking "ooh! I can go look for new stuff on Itunes later" I am officially admitting that I have a problem. I was thinking about a song I always heard in Mexico the 1st time I was there (the luchagors are playing mexico city july 15th!!) by Molotov 'Gimme tha power', which I have on CD in the living room. However, I was sitting on the porch. I did not get up and go look for the CD- but clicked on iTunes to get it instead. Now, that is just plain pathetic!! So where else can I download music????? HUh? I need more!

IMPORTANT! READ THIS IF YOU'RE IN THE AP CONTEST!!!!!

hey guys -

it's been brought to my attention that there are some fans out there creating fake profiles to join the ap contest. now ap has messaged the luchagors and said if it doesn't stop, we're gonna get disqualified. we love that you guys are trying to help, but we don't want you to cheat for us. PLEASE, if you've made a fake profile, take it down. the vote isn't going to count anyway, and it may lead to us getting disqualified all together. we know that we have plenty of true luchawhores out there and we've got a chance now to prove this to the world and to prove that we deserve this. we've also got a lot of respect for bands out there who are working their butts off to get where they are, and this isn't fair to them either, so please don't make any more fake profiles and take down the ones you've already made.

PUNKROCKALYPSE
Category: Music

Just got back home after my 1st radio show. I had fun playing stuff out of my personal collection for you guys to enjoy. I know some of you caught it and more of you will as the weeks go by. So you can't see me every week anymore, but you can listen to me, and maybe even talk on the air w/ me. I took callers from all over the country. I haven't blogged in a while so I'll catch you up a bit. My Birthday was fun. I had some friends over to my house, and got one of those Cookie Company cakes mmmmmmmmm:) and hung out and then went to see some bands at the Star Bar. Very fun night, but pretty mellow- pretty good combination for me. I am enjoying my time being low key, although I feel just as busy as ever. The Luchagors are always practicing or doing something, now I get to spend time preparing my set list for the radio show, I'm still taking vocal lessons, volunteering at the shelter, and tutoring, as well. Oh, and I guess I can't forget to mention the occasional indy show. I got to meet some of you myspacers this past weekend (hi guys), and I'm sure I will continue to meet up with you guys from time to time, whether I'm grocery shopping, at an appearance, or at a Luchagors show! See you guys around!- xxooAmy

Checkin in
Current mood: cheerful

Hey guys, just wanted to say hi and tell you about what is going on. I worked with Maryland Championship Wrestling last night. It was good to see some old friends in Danny Doring and Christian York. So, York is a magician now........., who knew? It was also fun to be able to interact with the fans on a casual level and have some freedom to just go out there and have a good time. I am doing 2 shows for Hermie Sadler's group UWF, this weekend as well. Other than that, I have been super busy with recording The Luchagors 1st album. We are all still in the studio and being taken to school everyday by our producer, Rachel. Our songs have come so far since we began. We are all learning so much and becoming a much more dynamic band. I can't wait for you guys to see how far we have come from the songs on our myspace demo. You guys sent me an excerpt from something the JR wrote about me. I really appreciate the kind words from him. I always got along and respected him. He shoots straight and is sincere in his words. I do feel as though I contributed a lot to the wrestling business, and I understand "Lita" left the WWE as a heel character. However, the human being Amy Dumas, gave a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to the WWE, and I am glad that someone that the same person that hired me, acknowledged that. On a separate note, I brought my new camera to the MCW show, but I forgot to take pictures! So if you guys have any pictures of me from anything that you think I should put up, send them my way. Talk at y'all later, xxoo, Amy

You guys are nuts!
Current mood: bitchy

So, I would have written another blog earlier, but I've been too busy adding all you crazies! I am currently in the studio with my band, The Luchagors, recording our first record. I've got a zillion letters, but ironically most of them ask the same questions. So....
1. I refuse to ever answer another question about my personal life, so don't bother even asking

2. My band is The Luchagors, it is my number 1 friend, go check us out!

3. I am not doing a whole lot w/ ADORE right now, per se, I intended ADORE to be more of an educational outlet to spead the word to one day end animal overpopulation. I do, however volunteer every Friday at a local shelter here in Atlanta.

4. I do not have any plans to return to a WWE ring, but I wouldn't rule anything out.

5. I also do not have any plans to be in a TNA ring

6. My dog's name is McKenzie

7. Hopefully The Luchagors will come to your town after the record comes out and we line up a tour. The date will most definitely be posted here.

8. If you want to become a wrestler you must first be in great physical condition, and a form of martial art training or shoot fighting doesn't hurt. After that, look for a reputable wrestling training school.

9. No, I can not train you, help you get a job, or get you tickets to a WWE show

10. I will not put you in my top friends, quit yo bitchin!

11. I will not give you my phone #, email address, or whatever other personal info you ask for

12. I will not take pics of me smoking a cigar , or my feet, or sell u my underwear (what?)

13. Quit commenting the same thing 10x, that's so dumb, not to mention rude!

14. Do not guilt trip me into commenting your page, that's as dumb, not to mention rude as commenting the board 10x

15. Please browse through the page before you ask me the same question that is already posted somewhere on here.

16. C'mon guys, is it really worth my time or yours to post a comment or send a message that says 'sup' or 'hey' followed by 'comment me back' ????

I could seriously go on and on, but generally speaking, just be cool. I am really a cool chick who is really appreciative to get a bunch of cool feedback, stories, pictures of your dogs, collages and videos of me, and whatever fun or funny stuff you send me. In return, I'll let you know what I'm up to and where I'll be. I kinda thought that is what this is for... .am I wrong? Take care of yourselves and talk at ya soon!- xxoo, amy
