She currently has one EP, called "Chirping Data" out on Belladonna. Her work has been described as everything from IDM, Breakcore, Techno, 8-bit, Drum 'n Bass, Glitch & Jungle, as the sub-sub-sub genres continue to split further & further...

Current mood: relaxed
the shows in europe were great- london was so fun and people got down, and athens- well, let’s just say the greeks like it fast. it was awesome, a great venue, and amazing people.
wrote a song on the plane (how else do you kill 9 hrs?), just tweaking it a bit. i hope to have an ep out sometime this year, in addition to the other one that may or may not come out one day :)
still working on my remix of a popular kids show for a comp, i’ve actually been a bit of a slacker about it lately so gotta get my arse in gear.
and i’ve been listing to lots of oldskool hardcore lately, so i’m tempted to make a few tracks in that vein to play live. piano bits! chipmunk vocals! air raid sirens! weeee!

an interview!!! euro dates!
Current mood: rejuvenated
Category: Music
hello, happy 2008. i was interviewed by a lovely american awhile ago, he has posted the interview at Some Assembly Required. there is another ep coming out! really! hahahaha! no, really! i am playing in london, england on saturday feb 23rd at Ginglik, and i am playing in athens, greece on friday feb 29 (oooh the spooky day!) at a place called Bios. and... hopefully i will have at least one other show while i am over there. i am very excited! i will put up posters when i get them. i have been making some music lately, one song is pretty thumpy again (and super rad), and one is barely started but so far i think it will be very fluttery. spazzy? i dunno. fun! the fluttery one will be oot in may or so, the other one i dunno, maybe on another ep? maybe there will be 2 this year? oh, yes, i am an enigma. i started a mail list!!!! you can opt in by going to ReverbNation. it will be quiet, mostly announcements about releases and shows. i guess kind of like this, but it means you don't have to come here. but i would like it if you did both. i dunno, don't all the cool people have lists? i would have a forum too, but i get the feeling it would only be me posting.
oh yes, and i have a facebook page now too. ok ttfn!

snow report
so here's whassup.....
i have a show in a few days, on thursday, Dec 6th. I have few new tracks that I will be playing, and I think it's going to rock. Artemis Jackson and Longwalkshortdock are going to kick it too. Come if you can, it will be very fun.
I did a remix awhile ago for lipstickface, you can get a copy of the entire remix album at http://www.teargasrecordingtree.com/noncapable/catalogue2.html. there are some madly skilled people on it.
And I am working on new stuff, not as quickly as i'd like to, but i can blame that on my computer. hopefully i will get a few more tracks done and then i plan to spam labels like crazy. :) in may i will be finishing up a radtastic cover song that i am very excited to do, weeee!
maybe this spring i will play some shows in another country. either that or i will go surfing.
Oh, and the EP is apparently still happening. I dunno. Fingers crossed. :)

news!!!
Current mood: busy
Category: Music
so i just got word that my ep is almost ready!!! hopefully in a couple of weeks. woooooo!!!!!! i'm so happy, the artwork by Kinoko is amazing, and i hope everyone likes the music. i think it's fun, fast and quirky at times, and a good mix of styles. one booty shaking techno track even! (it's up here if you want to preview)
next month i have a show for the new forms festival- the concept is really, really cool, and there are tons of other musicians and visual artists involved, including a few local favs of mine in both areas. very inspiring to meet with all these people, let me tell you. so yeah, i'm working on that set, which will be 100% new material. yiyiyiyiyiyikes!!!!!!

bread and butter
Current mood: blah
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
i had to bail on the laptop battle :( i feel really bad, but work interfered (in a good way) and only one pays the rent. ;)
all i've been doing lately is working on tracks for that, so maybe i can finish some of them proper like soon and get them up here. not much else has been going on, i'm trying to move and that's taking up a lot of my time and brain power. ugh.

battle!
Current mood: cheerful
i'm doing another laptop battle. yep yep yep yep. it's on may 3rd in seattle washington and i will be spewing irreverent noises all over the stage. so far i think what i have planned is rad. i don't really know what else to say, except you should come if you can because there are peeps representing from all over the fair lands of cascadia.
today i went snowboarding and it was absolulety awesome. it has been raining here for 3 weeks, today the clouds parted and it was beautiful sunshine glistening on white powder. weeeeeee!!!!!
i've been working gain for 1 month. it's amazing how fast your back decides that sitting in a chair really sucks. last week i ignored the fact that i have a job and went and saw ghislain poirier on a schoolday and drank a lot of beer and danced. i don't often dance at clubs, but hot damn his set was the sheeeet. i got down. and then my back hurt the next day. and i felt old. but really i think it has to do more with the job than the fun. yes, that is what i think.
and then on friday i saw shout out out out out for the 3rd time. and they were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo rad, as i expected. the next couple of months are ridiculous for shows, i am stoked. i like music, yes i do.

EP news
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
So, the EP is now mastered and the artwork is done. It looks soooooo cool! It's called "Killerbytes" and the artwork was done by the massively talented Kinoko! Go buy her CD while your at the page, it's awesome. :) It is going to the (yet to be mentioned by me cause i am not counting any chickens) label hopefully tomorrow and then the ball is in their court. Yay!
Sadness though, cause BellaDonna is on indefinite hiatus. Samarah and Phil were so cool for putting out my Chirping Data EP, and they were *very* patiently waiting on a new track from me, which was pretty much done but now that I have more time I am going to smooth some things out. I hope both of them all the best, and Samarah seems to be rocking her music pretty good these days so keep an eye on her fo sho.
Back at work after 7 months of freedom, it's quite an adjustment. But I did manage to get a lot done and I do really need some money, so I can't really complain all that much. Plus this contract is a piece of cake. Except for the 7am start time. Owwwwwww.

nooooo! not BNW!!!!!!
Current mood: infuriated
Category: Music
we have a national broadcasting radio station here that plays mostly classical music all day and has talk shows. it's all very soothing and adulty, until midnight hits and then a show called "Brave New Waves" comes on. This show has been running since 1984, and it showcases new music that would never normally get radio play. I learned about the Stone Roses through this show, The Wedding Present, Orbital, BR, Squarepusher, and I could go on and on and on (it could honestly be compared to the Peel Sessions). On the 2 nights that BNW is not on, CBC Radio3 is, it focuses on all genres of Canadian independant music. It's also an amazing show that exposes people nationally to stuff they would not normally get to hear.
Now, the brilliant old men behind the CBC have decided that they are going to move their "youth oriented" shows (BNW & R3 being two of them) over to satellite radio. They claim that they want to attract more listeners, and so they are making their free stations more "adult oriented" (more classical, and now with jazz!) GREAT MOVE! Make the kids pay! That will guarantee you'll continue to have tons of listeners over the years. Now they do mention that there will also be podcasts, but not everyone has their own computer and to take these shows off the free airwaves is just ridiculous.
Everyone I know already thinks the CBC is getting more and more out of touch with anyone under the age of 50, and this only supports that.
The absolute idiocy of this infuriates me to no end, I wrote them a big rant.

Please express your support for BNW by writing to: jennifer_mcguire at cbc.ca, executive programming director, CBC jane_chalmers at cbc.ca, vice-president of English radio, CBC

i did it!
Current mood: happy
i finished the ep! how rad! amazing! woooooooooo! now i am trying to figure out wtf to call it.....
i have a show tomorrow where i will debut the track that was holding me up for so long. yay!
i'm still not really working and it's still sort of snowing. strange.
i think my laptop will be dying soon, it's been making bad noises. yikes. i should back up, the last bu was at the end of nov.
i have decided the best show on tv is crash addicts. i ALMOST was in a demolition derby once (actually it was a rollover contest). i really wish that had worked out.
oh, and guitar hero 2 is pure evil.

not working
Current mood: chipper
is awesome! too bad it doesn't pay as well as having a job. but i don't think i'm going to look too hard, i'm a freelancer and one of my regular contracts comes back in feb so i will live cheap and maybe take a little thing or two till then. but nothing lame. i took a lame job last year and holy crap it was low pay and lots of unnecessary work. so i don't want to do that again. of course, if i get desperate i will. but yeah, so anyway.....
i think i shall have a show here in the next month or two. that will be the first one since sept (although those 5 weeks in europe were fun). still haven't finished the ep, i honestly don't know wtf is wrong with me! it's down to ONE SONG to finish! i've been working on it for months! ONE! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. i'm also doing a track for a comp full of hymns that will be out for the holiday season, and then another track for another comp in the new year. so i have lots to do, who has time for work! also, it means i will stay inside and not spend money.
speaking of staying inside, what is with the snow in vancouver? it should only be on the mountains. i snowboarded in it on wednesday, that was pleasant indeed. nothing like swishing down a panoramic ridge listing to your musics. ahhhhhhhhhhh. in the city though, not so good. people here CANNOT drive in the snow, so basically i just watch cars spinout. and laugh at them. and then help them if they need it.
i had a crazy dream last night. it was creepy more than crazy. it involved someone i trusted totally taking advantage of that. strange, my dreams usually make no sense at all (mayan gods or snowboards floating in mazes or butterflies that follow me or cloud aliens) but this one was very realistic. it creeped me right out.
lastly, i have been listing to lots of epic symphonic italian metal lately, so don't blame me if my songs start sounding like hobbit tales.

Current mood: hopeful
i sent out a bulletin about this but i am trying to get as many people to read this as possible.
my good friend john needs your help. he is one of my favouritest people i have met throught the interwebs, so much so that i..ve even gone down to chill with him & his wife a few times in seattle. they are 2 of the nicest people ever, he is an audio engineer(mastered my last album)/ web host and she is a baker. as in they are self-employed. as in they have no insurance. and cancer costs a lot.... please help, every bit counts. Current mood: relaxed
yes, i've been here for a week now, recovered quite nicely (although the damage to my bank account will last quite awhile). The rest of my time in stockholm was fantastic, met up with the microdisko peeps and had a great time. muchos props to psilodump, nxpnsv, and random for hanging out. :) it was a very fun night and i hope to come back soon.
then i went down to copenhagen where i hung out with the lovely louise and did lots of touristing. left just in time, the weather was -10 and the mtv awards were that night. i don't do well around mtv types.
arrived in amsterdam, hung out with my terribly awesome friend marco on my birthday, did lots of touristy stuff and bought some nice shirts. went to hengelo to play a show with mu-ziq. but unfortunately he had to cancel. i was bummed of course, but all the people in met in hengelo made up for it- sander, rafa, edwin & alex, julian, and especially jeroen. then the next day i went to rotterdam (GABBER!) and met my old friend tomasz. quite fun. then i came home. whew!
now i have no shows for awhile so i am going to be making music. finishing the ep (for real) and making a couple of tracks for comps. then on to make more new stuff for another ep. plus i have other life things to do like make christmas presents and get in lots of snowboarding. i should probably find a job too, i guess. le sigh.

holy omfg
Current mood: ecstatic
Category: Music
i am opening for u-ziq in hengelo, netherlands on nov 4 (the day after my bday- quite a present!) at an event called "fractured". u-ziq. mike paradinas. trying not to sound like a freakish fangirl here.... but seeing as how he has been listed as one of my main influences since day 1 this is a pretty big deal. stoked.
i am in stockholm now, it's a beautiful city with beautiful people (although i gotta say oslo was the champ on that front). the forecast tomorrow is for strong winds, someone even told me there was a hurricane warning. i have a nice view of a park so was hoping to see some flying trees, but the internet says it's not gonna be that bad. oh well. it would have been fun.
i can't approve friend requests or post to other people's blogs or anything from here, i wrote to myspace and they said they were working on it. so i promise i'm not being a snob to those who have requested me, hopefully once i get to denmark or even holland it will work again. watching downloaded tv cause the weather is not so nice this evening. gonna go to a microdisko on saturday, i am rather excited. :)
the shows in london went awesome, people came up and gave me props which i always love- and got to hang out with my friends douglas and mjark. and randomly met ulrich schnauss. stfu in helsinki was a ridiculous amount of fun. it's a beautiful place with beautiful people. ;) haha ahhh scandinavia..... anyway, i posted more about all the shows on my other blog on my "official" website.
bye for now!

new pics, upcoming
Current mood: accomplished
new pics of me that are not blurry! wooooo! they were taken by the amazing unuseable signal- you can find his music here and his pics (soon) here. it was a lot of fun to take them and he did an amazing job. i am not too comfy in front of the camera so i'm sure i wasn't the easiest subject.
my "tour" is coming together, dates in helsinki and london are confirmed and i'm still working on one or two more scandinavian dates plus one or two in amsterdam (including a possible radio thing). i'm super excited about this trip- robin judge and i are even planning to go to st. petersburg for a couple of days. wooooo!
i have a local show coming up before i leave- a bunch of peeps are interpreting "rave" music on sept 30th at blim and i think it will be fun. my visuals are hella dope so far and i hope the music can compete. :) i used to rave many moons ago so i think i can remember what it was like.........
the "idea hoard uncut" comp is doing well, i know i've been played on the radio a few times so far so that is quite nifty. reviews will be coming up soon after it is officially released oct 9th so that is stressful. yikes!
and that other ep is still in the works. i know, i know. but i promised myself i would have it done before i leave so that is why i am up late working on it. except i am writing this blog. master procrastinator!!!!
