Grr! There it goes. Once again by Mark Stern NBC Sci FI channel, the same person who played a part in being responsible for instigating the writers strike fiasco that ruined everything on you last year, cancels & kills nearly all of your favorite shows, SG-1, Farscape, BSG, Dresden, etc, and the person who shovels all those poor quality junk sci fi channel movies like Frankenfish and reality gameshows like who cares who wants to be a superhero at you instead of the good quality programming you liked.
Yes, put ECW clown wrestling on the channel named for SCIENCE FICTION, and renew that, but not the flagship show that just WON the People's Choice Award for best science fiction show.
Well, if you didn't write letters to the addresses on our site, then now maybe you'll get the idea that this person Mark Stern needs to be removed. If you didn't realize that Mark Stern at Sci Fi channel has been turning the entire genre of Sci Fi into garbage and sequentially killing or tainting all your shows, then perhaps this will finally awaken you. And you'll take a stand against this 1 man wrecking ball of incompetence over there. And to those who've written, time to write again. And to those who wrote 10 letters, time to do 20. And 100 make it 200. :-) Whatever was done before, time to double it. There's no giving up in Stargate.
Donnie died in June. ( You knew him as George. General Hammond of Texas.
He was a great guy, those of you who met Donnie perhaps at one of the conventions know that he was a fan favorite. Unlike the character he played, Donnie was the life of the party. Laughing. Joking. He really truly loved all of you.
Mark Stern cancelled Stargate SG-1 in august of 2006. Now Donnie, General Hammond, has died, and will never get to see or be in Stargate SG-1 again, even if (when!) it returns. Since Stern failed to respond to your wishes and the wishes of all the people of the world, the chance for Donnie to be in it is now passed. Science Fiction is what allows all of us to escape reality and let our imagination fly free to explore all that can be. Sadly unlike science fiction, where Dr. Beckett can return, this chance is gone. Donnie sadly won't be coming back. :(

Arthur C. Clarke, the visionary science fiction writer who wrote "2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY" sadly died today.
Arthur C. Clarke sci fi writer won Worldwide acclaim.
He wrote more than 100 books on space, science and the future.
He was 90.
Having written "2001: A Space Odyssey", one of the greatest science fiction achievements of all time, Clarke was regarded as far more than a science fiction writer.
Clarke was co-author of the masterpiece sci fi film "2001" with the great director Stanley Kubrick, which involved man’s place in the universe, and the famous "HAL" 9000, the computer that acted with artificial intelligence.
Arthur C. Clarke was credited with the concept of communications satellites in 1945, decades before they became a reality.
He came up with the idea of Geosynchronous orbits, which keep satellites in a fixed position relative to the ground, and to this day, they are called Clarke Orbits.
Arthur C. Clarke was present with American broadcaster Walter Cronkite as commentator on the U.S. Apollo moonshots in the late 1960s. The momentous time when man achieved that historic moment and traveled to the 1st world out side of the planet Earth, the moon.
Clarke’s volumes on space travel and his explorations of Science, Biology, and books on the Great Barrier Reef and Indian Ocean earned him respect in the world of science, so much that in 1976 the AIAA made him an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
In 1989, two decades after the Apollo 11 moon landings, Clarke wrote: "2001 was written in an age which now lies beyond one of the great divides in human history; we are sundered from it forever by the moment when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped out on to the Sea of Tranquility. Now history and fiction have become inexorably intertwined."
Clarke won the Nebula Award of the Science Fiction Writers of America in 1972, 1974 and 1979; the Hugo Award of the World Science Fiction Convention in 1974 and 1980, and in 1986 became Grand Master of the Science Fiction Writers of America. He was awarded the CBE in 1989.
In the wartime Royal Air Force, he was put in charge of a new radar blind-landing system.
But it was an RAF memo he wrote in 1945 about the future of communications that led him to fame. It was about the possibility of using satellites to revolutionize communications — an idea whose time had decidedly not come.
Clarke later sent it to a publication called Wireless World, which almost rejected it as too far-fetched. Just another example, of how science fiction and those who have the vision to dream dare to invent the things that become some of our greatest technological achievements in the future.
By the way, Arthur C. Clarke was one of the first people to popularize the symbol of the crystal skull referenced in STARGATE. It was describe in Arthur C. Clarkes Mysterious World’s show
It was his writing that gave him his greatest fulfillment.
"Sometimes I am asked how I would like to be remembered," Clarke said recently. "I have had a diverse career as a writer, underwater explorer and space promoter. Of all these I would like to be remembered as a writer."
In an interview with The Associated Press, Clarke once said that he had arranged to have DNA from strands of his hair to be one day sent into orbit. "One day, some super civilization may encounter this relic from the vanished species and I may exist in another time,"

At 90 years old, Clarke was linked by his computer with friends and fans around the world every day, spending each morning answering e-mails and browsing the Internet.
He inspired generations of children to dream, to learn about science, to think about humanity, and our desire to explore beyond all that is known, from our small blue dot, which sits as just 1 of many in the vast sea of the entire universe like the period on the end of this sentence compared to all of the dots in all of the messages ever sent from all of the people in the entire world on the internet in all of recorded history.
When you look at this man’s Black & White photos from the 1940’s let it allow you to realize that this man, dreamt of things, back then, that you are only now using today, and he had conceived of even more things that you haven’t even seen yet. Ask yourself what you have conceived of and thought of today, which the children of tomorrow will look at, and see your old "color" photo (wondering why it’s so old-looking, merely being "in color", and being one of those "old" 2-dimensional pics they used back in the 2000’s, rather than one of the children of tomorrow’s holographic images.). And ask yourself what ideas you will leave as your legacy to humankind.
Decades from now, when some "cyber-archeologist" digging down through layers of the digital landscape uncovers the writings that you did, back in the here & now, will yours be "hey, yo sup." or something you said not so nice, or will your writings that they find be something that inspires, something scientific, something that was visionary beyond your years, will what they find of what you wrote be something you stood up for, something you dreamed, fought for, or ideas that you envisioned for technology that has not even been invented yet, did you create art, beauty like the great Leonardo da Vinci did in his drawings simply by taking a moment of time to look at how water flows, and seeing something no one else saw a thousand times before, will your contributions be something that brought happiness, something that helped a person, saved an animal, inspired a child to learn, something that made a difference in the world no matter how small or big it was, but left a legacy for all humankind. You decide.
You have been an inspiration for Stargate, and one of the great heroes to us all. For all you gave us, Arthur, our thoughts go out to you,
and wherever you are, in the universe, may a new day dawn, and all your dreams come true.

NOTE: To Everyone with spyware trackers on their sites, PLEASE get rid of them....this includes profile trackers, stalker trackers, stats trackers, etc! These are not allowed by myspace and you risk getting your account deleted as well as putting your friends at risk! And they will steal your personal information, and then start sending out mass messages victimizing all of your friends, and your name will be on it.
The "KARMA" posts, comments, and pics are FAKE! Delete those. It's a scam to infect you.
CHAINLETTERS saying myspace is closing, and to forward it to more people, is a fake.
Fake posts from "Tom" saying myspace is allowing people to view 2 private profiles......are a trick to infect you.
Posts saying to "MEET a MILLIONAIRE" for dating, or Date a SugarDaddy, or GOTH DATING SITE, or RATEandKISS or SugarLaddy, or meet and date or marry some rich wealthy person are SCAMS. Delete it.
Posts that say "OMG can you believe this chick posted half naked pics of herself..." are a scam. That will infect you. Delete it.

DONT CLICK THOSE! The end of that url is a chinese site, not myspace. See the .CN on the end instead of .com? .CN stands for china.
Use common sense! don't click on links that say "OMG! YOU GOT TO SEE THIS!!!" Especially if it immediately says to you "YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO DO THAT!" Dont! Dont type your password in there! That can be a mock imitation copy of the myspace login page that can be hosted in russia or china that steals your login information. That's how they phish you and hack you. NEVER login there. Just type myspace.com into your browser and that way you will always be assured that you are at the REAL myspace site.
If you receive a comment or a message and you are unsure, click its REPLY button and see if there are a bunch of spaces in its URL.

DONT approve FRIEND REQUESTS from FAKE TOM'S! If a pic says "FREE RINGTONES" DO NOT CLICK IT! Or some kind of special offer, for "the next 24 hours" DONT FALL FOR IT. It's a trick. And do not approve profiles whose pic is a girl often in some sexual pose, and the name of the person is "Tom". Lots of fake friend requests occuring recently.
DONT GO TO THE SITE BAITING YOU WITH SOUTHPARK JUNK. Like some garbage about making yourself into a South Park icon. That thing will spam your whole friendslist, as well as that show being tacky and stupid itself. But that site will capture all your info, email address, myspace page login, and password when you sign up, and send out automated comments spamming their southpark garbage site to your whole friends list.
AND DO NOT USE FACEBOOK. FACEBOOK HAS HUGE SECURITY FLAWS DWARFING any problems on MYSPACE. If you thought myspace had loopholes, FACEBOOK is a hundred times WORSE. Myspace might just send a little spam, but FACEBOOK will expose you to IDENTITY THEFT! Facebook has leaked people's real information, your name, your email, your personal details. Facebook has been sued by the Attorney General's Office for breaches, for exposing children to predators, and Facebook has allowed and harbored child murderers on Facebook.
Facebook will also OWN and take the rights of anything you post on its system. If you are a film maker, they will own the rights to your film. If you post fanfiction, they now own it. If you upload a poem, Facebook can take it, use it, publish it, make money off of it. If you are a photographer, and you post some of your work, Facebook now has full rights over it. They can alter your photos, edit them, use them in THEIR ads. Facebook can even use your own face, without you giving written permission, and use you to make them money. They even take the rights to alter your face, they could paste you into a scene that you were never in, put a pic that you didn't want anyone to see but your friends on a public sign at a bus stop, anything they want. It's in the Facebook TERMS. The thing you didn't read when you signed up. You should read it. It will tell you that they own the rights, in perpetuity, to any thing you upload on facebook! Musicians... if you upload your song, Facebook can claim rights to it, and use it, without paying you a cent. And, be aware, that you CANT DELETE your profile on facebook. (only "disable" it) In other words, they have it forever. If you post something one day, maybe in anger, then the next day change your mind, too late. Not only do they have a record (in the feed) of you uploading it, they save a copy of it, and if you go in and delete the pic, or text, they now have a log of you attempting to delete it. These are far worse than anything on myspace. And that makes Facebook significantly different in terms of Facebook's security flaws and danger to you as a user. Never signup or use Facebook.

Ok! Lots of good stuff to learn there, just trying to keep you safe, thanks to all those who got screen shots of the spams, and with a little common sense we can all give these spammers a bad day, deleting their dumb scams, and not giving them any satisfaction.
Well...at least this stuff on myspace is minorly annoying, and not as severe and as DANGEROUS AS FACEBOOK! Facebook has even been sued in court for negligence and failing to keep facebook safe. By the attorney general! So the myspace ones might be a little annoying, but not as savage, criminal, and Malicious as those that people who are on Facebook have to deal with. (Note. If you are a Facebook user, you should seriously watch out, that is perhaps one of the most vulnerable. Go research it. Go on google or something and type to search for "facebook sued" or "facebook court case" or "lawsuit facebook" or "facebook murderer huntley" or "identity theft via facebook" or "facebook leaked" or any of those things. Just go learn about it for yourself before you put any more info on that one.
ATTN: Myspace has put up a new feature to help you! There is now an ALERT page, whenever you click any link that goes outside myspace.com THIS IS OK! THIS IS GOOD! But keep in mind, that alert DOES NOT MEAN THE SITE IS BAD. If you see that screen, that's ok! The site CAN be ok, and all good. That message DOES NOT mean it is a bad site. You can say OK to go to the site IF you recognize it as being OK. The ONLY kind of external site you want to watch out for is the bad ones. The one that is bad, is the one that pretends to be myspace's login page. Got it?
So, you CAN go to external sites. That's ok! But what you want to avoid is merely the EXTERNAL site that pretends to be myspace. THAT's the kind that ask for your pass. ok? So in summary.... Real Myspace login page is OK. External sites Can be ok. But it is the one that has BOTH external site AND pretends to be a myspace login page, THAT IS THE one you DEFINITELY want to avoid. NEVER type your pass into an *external site that mocks the appearance of myspace logins*. The external sites in china that stole the look of the myspace login page are the ones you want to avoid. Just close down and quit out of it, and open your browser again and go to the real myspace.com to login. And you will be ok. And external sites like youtube, google, msn.com, photobucket, etc, those are external sites. But those are ok.
