Weapon of choice for Zombies...
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Life

So what would your weapon of choice be...?

Of course EVEYONE would pick the shotgun, but come on, not everyone would have access to guns, at least not right away.  Yes, this is Michigan, and every third person is a hunter, but when the zombie shit is hittin' the fan, you'd probably be at work or school, and you'd have NO weapons...well maybe at school you would, but THAT'S a different blog for my other myspace page.

So NO GUNS ALLOWED!  Yep, that's right, too damn easy for ya'll.  You need to pick something else, something that would be easy to get or make.  Let's put those braincells to the test shall we...?

So What's your Zombie Plan...?
Current mood: amused
Category: Life

So If you click on the Red Vs Blue clip I have below (and if you haven't seen the show, do so!  Buy their shirts, DVD's and stickers!  Funniest show you'll ever see!), you'll see that they all have a "Zombie Plan."

What is a Zombie Plan you might say?  Well, when the Undead rise up and start attacking the living, making meals and new Zombies of them, what are you going to do?  I have my plan, do you have yours?  If I have advanced notice, I plan on getting my friends and whoever else I can get and heading to the nearest stripmall.  There is a Target, Home Depot and Meijers all right next to each other.  I will get all the vehicles, line up bumper to bumper to form a barricade.  Rifles and guns will be busted out of the hunting department, molitav's will be made and and a group will keep an eye out while we fortify this area.

Eventually, fence's and towers will be added, and the stores themselves will become the last line of defense. Concret will be dug up, and vegetables will be planted (when conditions allow.) If we were able to get cows (and yes, there are some nearby, we'd get those too.  Vehicles will be "MadMaxed" into search and destroy weapons to get more supplies.  It would be our own little commune until things get back to normal...if they EVER DO!  So what is your plan?

Running VS. Walking Dead
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Life

Running Zombies vs. Slow Moving Zombies...your pick and why?   *This is a repost from the Jonny Whatever site...

I have ALWAYS been a fan of the Zombie, ever since I watched "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" every other Saturday afternoon on Thriller or Creature Feature when I lived in the Detroit area.  I grew up with the slow moving, limited intelligence zombie for most of my life.  The fact that a loved one, long or recently dead coming to EAT you, or at least do you harm was always a creepy thought.  We live in a world where a random person could do this, and we, sadly, are used to that idea, and prepare for it, but someone we know and love?!

Now make that loved one RUN at you with that same ferocity.  Any fan of the zombie movies and books has thought "Hey, I would be the guy that would know what to do," or "I would be the one to save the day, and fight them off."  We saw how easily Tony Todd took care of a bunch of them in the remake, and he was just a business guy.  What changed the idea for me was the "Dawn of the Dead" remake.  It's a great movie, just like the original, but the idea that these THINGS were so active.  Running and jumping, relentlessly coming at you at a furious pace was truly scary.  The zombie as a slow moving creature means that most people would be able to defend themselves, your wife, a friendly overweight neighbor, maybe even your young son or daughter.  YOU feel that you could be able to do it, defend yourself, fight them back or escape.  Even if it was a loved one, alone in your home and your mother just died and was coming back to life, you could go through the motions of grief, anger and so forth, and when attacked, be able to save yourself with a well aimed shot or blow to the noggin'.  It WAS your mother/father/sister/brother/friend, but now it is a creature that was going to do you harm, you have the time to separate the two and do what HUMANS do and try to survive.

If that same creature was coming at you like a track star, you KNOW you wouldn't stand a chance.  Most zombie fans who think they are the one who "knows just what to do" or "be the one who saves the day" know they, and most of society wouldn't stand a chance.  Walking Zombies, even as a slow moving force, were something to reckon with.  They moved in groups, and overwhelmed by shear strength in numbers, but the average Joe could deal with them.  Running Zombies are a tsunami, a hurricane, a flood, a force of unnatural nature that even ONE could do some major damage, let alone a group of them.  That thought ruins any idea that you would be the hero in your small band of survivors, that you would even survive.

I love the IDEA of the slow moving Zombie because it gives me the idea that if I was in that situation, I would have the time to come up with a plan to survive.  I would be able to save my loved ones, and even help others who may be in trouble.  We all want to play the role of hero, but I love and FEAR the running Zombie, because it makes me feel more vulnerable, and that is, after all, what a real horror movie should do.  It should make you be afraid, because when you are scared of death it makes you appreciate life all the more.  So what to you think?
