Surprisingly, neither his butt nor his wang are pictured in the magazine. However, a candid interview is a mandatory thing at BUTT magazine, and topics range from eastern-european penis to muesli.
I first heard of Daniel Wang while dining at Ping Pong, a stylish pan-Asian restaurant in Chicago's boystown. A gay ghetto that's barely hanging onto any sense of reality beyond low rise pants and weather-inappropriate tanks, there are sometimes signs of life. The annual Halloween Parade, Disco Night at Berlin and the trolls at the Lucky Horseshoe still make things interesting over there, and there are times when it seems like the only place to eat is Ping Pong. Their original recipe 99 cent Hot n' Sour soup, stark white w/taxidermy decor and thump-a-bump-bump atmosphere make the dining experience comically pretentious, and it's always worth the money. They graciously donated food for Queerfest Midwest and the owner is a hottie sweetheart, if a little shy. Head on over and tell Henry that Think Pink said hi.
ANYWAY, Daniel Wang has a sleek, stylish sound fit for high fashion runways and, uh, gay restaurants and the interview in BUTT is insightful. Check out some mp3's:

Kumbia Queers are Just the break You’ve Needed
Current mood: Amorado
Growing up with Guatemalan immigrants as parents meant good food, parties where openness about alcohol was not given a drowned thought, dancing was a prerequisite for being a good man, and the love of music was standard. Unfortunately, being straight was part of the deal. This month, my best discovery was the band Kumbia Queers, a collective of lez-spanics from Argentina and Mexico that express their pride with cheeky cumbia covers of popular songs. Their myspace includes tequila-ready takes on The Cure's Love Song and Madonna's La Isla Bonita. Head on over, grab an appropriately themed drink of your choice, and the sunny tunes will outshine the grey outside.
HOLY SHIT! MIAMI GLIOTCH FEATURED ON BIGSTEREO AND DISCOBELLE!!
Current mood: SHITTING.
A casual stroll through my RSS feed and an email exchange with my compatriot Reaganomix led to the discovery that Miami Gliotch was featured on two of my favorite and must visit blogs, BIG STEREO and DISCOBELLE. When I sent the mix out, I was not expecting anything but hoping for a little attention. The download count jumped from 33 to almost 500 in just two days! SHITTING THE PANTS HERE. Head on over to BIG STEREO (San Francisco) and DISCOBELLE (Sweden) for the hottest new tracks that you'll hear all year long. Always need to hear things first? These are the two best places to do that. Missed out the first time? See the track list below and click this link to get Miami Gliotch and get the best 30 minute workout with a 3 minute cool down you've had in a while.

Junior Senior is Still Around
Current mood: Small and Big
It took almost 2 entire years for Junior Senior's 2nd full length record to come out in the U.S. "Hey Hey My My Yo Yo" was released on Crunchy Frog in August 2005 in their native Denmark and it wasn't until this past Summer that Ryko picked it up for release here. To make up for it, we got a bonus disc of fresh songs recorded in 2007, and the result was interesting. "Hey Hey" proper is filled with glitz n' kitsch jamz, radio ready and packed with guest spots from members of Le Tigre, B-52's and the Velvelettes. The U.S. bonus disc's 7 songs, perhaps from lack of time and promo, were a harder, naked affair that shows us more Jesper and Jeppe than Junior and Senior. With a seemingly smaller budget, less time in the studio and reacting to web critics' slamming of the glossy production of the full length, this is summer fun in October:
Cocorosie--Promise Electrelane--After The Call Interpol--Pioneer To The Falls Morrissey--America Is Not The World Belle And Sebastian--Song For Sunshine

Loads of fun: First, I've officially changed my DJ name to Stinky Pinky and made a simple logo: The first time out for Stinky Pinky will be at this November's FKA Dance at Big Chicks on Thursday November 1st. Come on out and support what New City calls the "Best Monthly Queer Dance Party."
Finally, it'd be silly to unveil a new name and not have something to show for it. I've made a continuous mix, specifically for a 30 minute work out with a 3 minute cool down. Seriously. It's called "Miami Gliotch" which is a series of in-jokes that I can't explain because it's not actually funny. The track list is below and the link to download the mix is here:
I totally missed this event but the pics make it worth a re-visit.
The 4th China Reproductive Health New Technologies & Products Expo in Beijing July 11, 2007.
Condoms of all shapes and sizes were used to make dresses, hats and even lollipops. Models fought through extravagant soap bubble special effects to show off tight-fitting wedding gowns, scaly-looking evening dresses, outrageous bikinis and other garments made entirely of condoms.
The show was held at the Fourth China Reproductive Health New Technologies and Products Expo and organized by China's largest condom manufacturer, Guilin Latex Factory, to promote the use of condoms in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
It also marked World Population Day, organized annually by the U.N. Population Fund.
Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and her reactivated Psychic TV aka PTV3 are terribly sad to announce the cancellation of their November North American tour dates. This decision is entirely due to the unexpected passing of band member Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge.
Lady Jaye died suddenly on Tuesday 9th October 2007 at home in Brooklyn, New York from a previously undiagnosed heart condition which is thought to have been connected with her long-term battle with stomach cancer. Lady Jaye collapsed and died in the arms of her heartbroken "other half" Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.
Hey Lovers! Use Your Mouse!
Current mood: Hearts, Sparkles, Stars
As things get rolling for our collective futures, I'm going to be moving this blog and getting other people to contribute. I'd love to have more posts and more readers! If you come here regularly and enjoy yourself, why not subscribe so we can give you comment kisses? And if you want to hear the Mp3's I post but don't know how to get them, just ask. It's all about "click," not "clique." Think Pink Radio loves you.
Jenny Hoyston is a shape shifter. Hearing her past output in Erase Errata, Paradise Island, and with William Elliot Whitmore, her love of different sounds is distinct every time. Previous albums confine themselves to strict editions of avant punk or home demos or country, usually straying little from their respective comfort zones. If Erase Errata is political catharsis with a noisy beat, Paradise Island is a stubborn experiment and her collaborative album "Hallways of Always" was a vacation on her family's farm. "Isle of" is intentionally comfortable as a full blown statement that shows us Jenny can be all of those at once. Putting this record out under her own name is revealing--it explores wide territory but has a warm, inviting tone all around. Commitment to self has never sounded like such a good idea. Paradise Island will be appearing at Ladyfest Chicago on Saturday October 13th.
