Fishing Regulations for the Merced River in Yosemite:
Current mood: amused

FISHING REGULATIONS FOR THE MERCED RIVER IN YOSEMITE:

Only single, barbless hooks on artificial lures or flies are allowed from the base of Nevada Falls to the Foresta Road Bridge on Highway 140. Said hooks must be gilded with 24 karat gold plate, mined and smelted by hand by a direct descendant of John Muir and laser-engraved with the Franklin Mint Seal of Authenticity.

In the extremely rare event that Congress and the Park Superintendent approve your petition to use live bait, only male specimens of the Tehipite strain of the American red earthworm are acceptable, and must have been raised from birth in a pure, 100% organic mulch of Giant Seqouia bark and Mule Deer droppings. Deer feces to be collected solely from yearling bucks who have lived their entire lives within the park boundaries and must be harvested by a purebred Miwok virgin princess, who is to stalk the animal on a moonless night, catching the pellets in her bare right hand before they hit the ground.

All fish caught must be released untouched and unharmed. No photos, please. Good fishing and happy camping. Enjoy your stay!

More about the music:

Play it like you feel it! Classical rules the ages. Some, not all that Jazz, is evidence of Man's ability to evolve to a higher state. Dylan gets the love for kicking open the door to what songs could be about, paving the way for legions of poets with guitars. For bridging two uniquely American forms of music, and for really saying what he means, in a way that can mean as much to anyone hearing it as it did to him when he wrote it. Bono is there at times, too.

The Stones' "Waiting For A Friend" is about as cool a rock song as there could be.

Joni Mitchell is the most purely artistic individual I've come across this lifetime. Her musical creations are on a par with Van Gogh's canvasses, so far as quality, range and depth of expression; nailing a particular thought, emotion, sensation or awareness cold, sometimes with one tiny detail or nuance. Jimmy Page does the same with his guitar.

Always interested in new sounds and innovative musical expressions. Rock. Folk-Rock. Classical Guitar. Symphonies and Sonatas. Opera. Jazz. Broadway. Blues. Folk. Gospel. Movie themes and soundtracks. Rhythm and Blues. Oldies. Surf. Soul. Sultry French cabaret singers. Brazilian Samba. African Folk and Jazz. Celtic and Scottish Ballads. Reggae. Chorale. Vedic Hymns. Motown. Sea Chanties. Campfire Rounds. Children's Lullabyes.

All those great California groups and individuals from mid 60s to early 70s: Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane, Joni, Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills & Nash, Quicksilver, Doors, Country Joe, Neil Young, John Sebastian, Mamas & Papas, Moby Grape! A truly golden, renaissance time ~ will the likes ever come again?!
