SXSW 2008...according to our bass player....

Well kiddies, I am back from Austin. Jesus on Iceskates, it was awesome.

First and foremost, i got to play music on 6th street in Austin, Tx. Not many people can say that. We played 4 gigs in 4 days in Austin, and that is fucking BEAST!!

Day 1: Arrived in downtown Austin and within 20 minutes we met both the Miller Light Girls and the Jager girls which was cool because we are endorsed by both companies. They are really hot, I must say. Then we went back to Robert’s house where we spent the week and stayed up till 6 bullshitting. Overall it was an excellent day

Day 2: Tish was doing a trade show at the convention center, so Sean, Tony and I went downtown to promote our three shows (we only had three at this point). After a few hours of handing out postcards with the dates on them and plastering bar bathrooms with stickers and flyers we were sitting down outside of The Aquarium bar. Tony looked at Sean and me and said, "Let’s get a gig for tonight." To which we said, "Fuck yeah." So Tony walks into the bar and asks if they had any live music, and they did but it started at 10, so Tony asked if we could play earlier, and they said, "How does 8-9 pm sound?" So we booked that gig and played my first gig of SXSW (South by Southwest) on 6th Street in Austin.

Also, i got my cartilage pierced that day as well.

Day 3: Overall a very easy day. Tiring is all. We hung out downtown and caught a few shows of some bands from all over the country. After that we packed up and drove to Merkaba, a bar in Austin. We had an 8 pm show that night. It was a great venue, and it had a decent turn out. Plus it gave me more time on stage with the band.

Day 4: This was by far the best day of SXSW. It was the earliest day, but we got to sleep in on sunday. Sean, Robert and I were downtown while Tish and Tony went to a Rachel Ray party, to hopefully get us a spot on her show. While we were downtown we saw a few bands and passed out flyers and did some networking. Then came time for the video shoot. TuneToad.com taped it. It was the best show we’ve ever had with this lline-up, and quite possibly in the bands history. We had an amazing turn out. I rocked the fuck out. the video will be up soon on www.tunetoad.com and I’ll have it up on the ’space for everyone to watch.

Day 5: Easiest day by far. We got to sleep in, and then went straight fom the house to The Parlor where we played the last gig of SXSW. They had some amazing pizza there and we played with The Nematoads, which was badass. Once we finished the gig, we drove back to Brenham, opened some champagne, and toasted to a job well done.

Wife Swap...again!!!

I just got the e-mail from RDF Media that our episode of Wife Swap is set to re-air on Monday, JULY 23 at 7pm CST.  We're going to have a viewing party at The Texas Tavern in Brenham, where our performance in the show was filmed, then we'll hang out, do some Jager shots with you guys and play a live set.  I know, I know....it's a Monday.  But, seriously - what better way can you think of to start out your week than laughing at, then rockin' out with 3 Kisses?

We're going to play early - probably start around 8:30, so if you don't drink too much, you'll have no problem getting up for work on Tuesday.  I know it's a lot to ask not to drink too much at a 3 Kisses show....

We also have a lot of new free Jager swag, including sampler CDs with 3 brand new 3 Kisses songs.  We'll be handing out all of that stuff and you can also buy our new full length CD, Nut Job, which has the song Swapping Wives on it.  CD Baby is also working like crazy to get all these songs available for single download in case you don't want the hassle of buying a 'CD'.

I might even surprise everyone and bring a couple of peach pies....

Tish

My new tattoo!
Current mood: satisfied

Some moms put their kids' artwork on the refrigerator.  I, on the other hand, have had a cool picture of a zombie chick that my daugther Hannah drew, tattooed on my left leg.  Everyone at the tattoo shop went nuts over it and Hannah got to be the star last night.  It was very exciting for her to get so many compliments.  Since she is not into the music side of things, she feels left out a lot of the time because Benji gets a lot of attention being our little drummer boy.  It was really cool to watch her soak up the spotlight for a change.  I think she may give Tim Burton a run for his money, too.  I'm so proud of her!  Check out the pic in my photos - it's got a little glare on it, but you get the idea.

CD Baby and Reviews

I sent out a bulletin on this subject today.  I was checking out other artists on the CD Baby website a while back and there was this one guy (can't remember who) who had dozens and dozens of CD reviews.  I'm sure he's selling a boatload of CDs.  Funny thing was, most of them were from FANS, not professional reviews.  Not that having reviews from pro reviewers is a bad thing, but I think one music fan is going to way the opinion of another music fan just as heavily.

"It All Comes Down To Me" (fondly known as IACDTM) has been a great seller for us and has boosted our sales of "Wings" as well.  I'd like to keep that momentum going and even create a snowball effect.  So, if you missed the bulletin, please read on:

I have a special favor to ask of those of you who own one or both of our CDs.  CD Baby has a place where you can write a review of the album and of course, the more good reviews we get, the greater our chances of selling more CDs.

So, I would appreciate it if you would take the time to write a few comments at these links:

"Wings" - http://cdbaby.com/cd/3kisses

"It All Comes Down To Me" - http://cdbaby.com/cd/3kisses2

If you haven't picked up a copy of the CD yet there are many options available to you for purchase by visiting www.3kisses.com.  Our great and wonderful webmaster, Robert, has also provided you with links to purchase individual tracks at locations such as Rhapsody, itunes, MSN music and many more.

Thank you for your help and support!
