Todd Cuffaro Leads CORR Pro Lite Rookies into Rounds 11&12 at Chula Vista International Raceway
Current mood: determined
Todd Cuffaro Leads CORR Pro Lite Rookies into Rounds 11&12 at Chula Vista International Raceway
San Diego, CA (September 9, 2008) – Championship Off Road Racing returns to the metropolitan San Diego area this weekend as racing action kicks off at "The Quarry" located at the Chula Vista International Raceway. The Quarry is only 15 minutes from the motor sports race shop of Todd Cuffaro, driver of the No.46 Nissan/UPR/BFGoodrich Tires Pro Lite.
This weekend's race is the sixth stop of the eight race series as San Diego resident, Todd Cuffaro, leads the 2008 class of CORR Pro Lite rookies in the championship point's standings. In fact, the 24-year old racer is fifth in overall point's chase sharing the top five spots with several previous CORR Pro Lite champions.
"Returning to the Chula Vista race course is always a refresher for us. Racing in our backyard is definitely an advantage and if for some reason we need to utilize our race shop it's only 15 minutes away. I'm looking forward to another great weekend of racing. In a recent test session we made some significant improvements on setup and we continue to work closely with FOX Racing Shox in fine tuning our race day suspension setup," said a smiling Cuffaro.
Facing the challenge against the nation's top Pro Lite racers, Todd Cuffaro has held his own during the first 10 rounds of Championship Off Road Racing. Moving forward to towards the end of the season and with only six rounds of door-to-door racing left, Cuffaro has strategically positioned his team for a run at the top spot beginning this weekend.
"It's time for us to make a charge towards the front of the pack. We've worked closely with our motor specialist and grinded out a few more horsepower, which should give us the extra bump to run at the front of the pack. This weekend you're going to see the No.46 in the hunt for a podium spot," commented Crew Chief Jorge Lameda.
Championship Off Road Racing returns to its home track at the Chula Vista International Raceway where thousands of fans are expected to watch the most exciting form of off road motorsports seen in over a decade. The 2008 CORR season has experienced increased television coverage including live television broadcasts by both NBC Sports and SPEED Channel. That coupled with racing in metropolitan areas has increased the popularity of off road racing to the casual spectator as the grandstands have been packed with fans of all ages. Check out the CORR website at www.corracing.com for ticket information.
Saturday's Round 11 will be broadcasted live from trackside in a two-hour show on SPEED Channel and Sunday's Round 12 racing action is scheduled to broadcast on NBC Sports on October 5, 2008 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Check your local listings for the schedule in your area.

Cuffaro Races the No.46 Nissan/UPR Pro Lite to 5th & 6th Finishes During Final Los Angeles FAIR
Current mood: determined
Cuffaro Races the No.46 Nissan/UPR Pro Lite to 5th & 6th Finishes During Final Los Angeles FAIRPLEX Pomona Race
POMONA, CA (August 19, 2008) - Driving the No. 46 Nissan/UPR Pro Lite from the pole position, Todd Cuffaro has his sights focused on top spot during Sunday's Round 10 of the 2008 Championship Off Road Racing series. Todd powered the black and yellow Nissan/UPR Pro Lite around the race track with a vengeance as he fought off charges from some of the best Pro Lite racers in the nation. However, in the end, it was the battle between the top ten in the championship points for the checkered flag and Todd claimed the sixth spot.
"We had a great run on Sunday, getting lucky on the inversion and starting from the pole position. Last week we made some changes to the race truck and we're very happy with running similar lap times as the leaders. So now it's up to me. In Round 10, I made a mistake that allowed a couple of other guys to get around me near the end of the race and I'm really disappointed with myself for that. The upshot is that we continue to battle for the series points and make strides towards finishing off our first full season in a run for the overall Pro Lite championship," regarded Cuffaro. "And I guarantee that I won't let that happen again," said the San Diego racer.
The CORR track at Los Angeles Fairplex-Pomona Raceway was a .72-mile purpose-built race course, featuring the absolute biggest rhythm section bumps in all off the Championship Off Road Racing. The stadium boasts a near perfect view of the track from the grandstands, affording the fans a very up close and personal look at racers, as they battled in the dirt at top speeds. CORR Officials reported nearly 15,000 total fans packed the grandstands over the weekend.
Saturday's Round 9 saw Todd drive perhaps his best lines of the season and was skipping off the top of the biggest bumps CORR racers have raced in all season long. In qualifying and race action, Todd's lap times were comparable to the current top five in the point's standings. After a solid 16 laps around the LA Fairplex Pomona race track, Todd drove the No.46 Pro Lite across the checkered flag claiming another top five in this 2008 CORR season.
Crew Chief Jorge Lameda commented," This weekend Todd broke some new ground. We've got the truck to the point that he's perfectly comfortable and he's pushing it to the edge. He has a great feel for how far he can go until he's over the top. We're getting very close to experiencing a top three finish and the podium is well within reach. We just need to tag it a couple times before the season is over and see where it all lines up for the final two races."
The No.46 Nissan/UPR Pro Lite turned some serious power out of the Nissan power-plant this past weekend, as the warm Southern California temperatures did not phase the 4-cylinder Nissan engine. Temperatures at the track pushed into the mid-90's. That, coupled with high-humidity, put the squeeze on many of the top engine performers in the Pro Lite field.
Strong Nissan power combined with the brand new BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM and an incredibly tuned FOX Racing Shox suspension, allowed Todd Cuffaro's Pro Lite to charge hard in each aspect of the race track.
Championship Off Road Racing returns to the backyard of Cuffaro Motorsports, as the next race is slated to kick off on September 13-14, 2008 at "The Quarry" located at the Chula Vista International Raceway. The Quarry is only 15 minutes from Cuffaro Motorsports racing headquarters and is a track where Todd excels.
Saturday's Round 9 was broadcasted live from trackside on SPEED Channel and Sunday's Round 10 racing action is scheduled to broadcast on NBC Sports on September 14, 2008 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Check your local listings for the schedule in your area.

CUFFARO on Target as the Second Half of 08' CORR Season Kicks Off at LA Fairplex-Pomona with Ro
Current mood: determined
CUFFARO on Target as the Second Half of 08' CORR Season Kicks Off at LA Fairplex-Pomona with Rounds 9 & 10
San Diego, CA (August 12, 2008) – Todd Cuffaro and his crew have worked hard to dial in the No. 46 UPR Racing Supply/Nissan Motorsports Pro Lite in preparation for the second half of the 2008 Championship Off Road Racing Season.
The festivities begin mid-week as CORR will move professional teams into the Los Angeles Fairplex-Pomona race track making way for what is expected to be an incredible weekend of racing. The racing will be televised live on SPEED TV beginning at 2:00 p.m. PST. CORR has amped up this weekend's race on Southern California's television and radio stations, billing this weekend's event as the final race weekend in Los Angeles until next season. Thousands of fans are expected to fill the LA Fairplex-Pomona fairgrounds in search of the nation's top off road racers banging doors and racing hard for the checkered flag.
This .76 mile CORR race track features a huge jump on the back straightaway, before racers dive deep into the twisting bowl in the center of the track and come out at high-speeds headed for some of the biggest bumps in Championship Off Road Racing.
For Todd Cuffaro, the return to this track provides the entire team with a reprieve from the unfortunate incident that he had during the June race. The No. 46 UPR Racing Supply/Nissan Motorsports Pro Lite met with near disaster as Todd's race truck was pummeled by the reigning CORR Pro Lite champion, who was later black flagged for the incident. As the trucks emerged from the pile of crushed steel tube, the 24-year old San Diego racer was faced with driving a wounded truck. Todd overcame the difficulties and managed to finish 11th overall.
Returning to the track for Sunday's Round 6, Todd demonstrated this team's resilience with a solid 6th place finish in front of a nearly sold-out crowd.
Todd spoke about his return to Pomona: "We are excited to be returning to LA Fairplex-Pomona and hope to capitalize on what we learned from racing at Pomona in June. It's a great track and we seem to run very fast there. The team is really clicking on all cylinders and we're in good shape as we head into the second half of the season. We're in fifth position overall in the points and that sets us up for a solid run towards the season championship."
The weather conditions at the race track this weekend are expected to have temperatures hovering in the low to mid 90's with track being extremely hot.
The 2008 season is the first full season of CORR racing for the driver of the No. 46 UPR Racing Supply/Nissan Motorsports Pro Lite and he's embraced the opportunity as the leader of the 15 Pro Lite rookies on the race track this season.
Since the opening race of the season, the talented CORR rookie has scored four Top 5 finishes along with finishing in the Top 10 of the 28 truck field every race except in Round 5 when he suffered extensive truck damage at the hands of another racer.
"It's been a wild ride so far this season. We're headed into this race with a vengeance and our recent testing sessions have been excellent. I see nothing but continued Top 5 finishes for the No.46 truck," said a confident Cuffaro.
Fans are encouraged to visit the Cuffaro Motorsports Nissan / UPR Racing Supply Pit Zone to receive signed autograph hero cards of Todd Cuffaro who will be signing autographs at noon each day.
Saturday's Round 9 of the 2008 CORR Series will be broadcasted on Speed Channel on live with coverage beginning at 2:00 p.m. PST. Sunday's Round 10 will be broadcasted on Sunday, September 14, 10:30 a.m. to noon on NBC Sports.

Cuffaro Claims Top Five in CORR San Diego

Rounds 7 & 8
Cuffaro Claims Top Five in CORR San Diego
Todd Cuffaro Featured in San Diego Union Tribune Article
San Diego, CA (July 29, 2008) - Championship Off-Road Racing Series (CORR) arrived to San Diego, California for Rounds 7 & 8 of the 2008 CORR season in front of the largest crowds that CORR has ever seen. On Saturday, a record of nearly 15,000 fans packed into 'The Quarry' at Chula Vista International Raceway to watch the 70 plus racers competing in eight different classes.
CORR Pro Lite rookie and San Diego native, Todd Cuffaro, arrived to 'The Quarry' a mere fifteen minutes from his downtown off road motorsports race shop. Todd's primary goal was to maintain a top five in the overall points race for the 2008 CORR series. 'The Quarry' presents challenges not experienced at other tracks.
'The Quarry' at Chula Vista International Raceway is a .82-mile purpose-built race course featuring high banked turns, six-foot high bumps along with a high-speed front stretch directly in front of the grandstands providing pure entertainment, but the highlight is the 160 foot downhill jump that tests the guts of each racer who takes to the track.
Todd Cuffaro arrived to CORR Rounds 7 & 8 leading the fifteen Pro Lite rookies in the championship points race.
"Racing in Chula Vista has always been a challenge for us, and our strategy heading into this race was to maintain a top five points position. We had a challenging qualifying run on Friday but the team rebounded early Saturday morning and had two good practices leading into Saturday's race. Our poor qualifying resulted in us starting in the 18th position, so the pressure was on for us to make our way thru the pack and hopefully finish in the top ten. The competition in Pro Lite at this level is so close it's very difficult to gain positions with our limited horsepower. We stayed out of trouble and worked our way thru the pack ending up 7th overall," explained Todd.
Sunday's Round 8 saw the 46 UPR/ Nissan/ BFGoodrich/ FOX Racing Shox Pro Lite start in the pole position after the mandatory CORR inversion. Todd battled with the best of the best in Pro Lite to the midway competition yellow flag. Cuffaro held his 5th place position after the restart and never looked back. Todd took the checkered flag in 5th position of the 28 racers who battled in the thirteen lap race.
"This was the first time in my CORR racing career that I had the opportunity to start on the pole position and it was nice running in clean air among the best Pro Lite racers in the world. I was able to run with the leaders throughout the entire race which is a big attribute to our race team partners and my dedicated crew. The Nissan motor ran great, our BFG tires hooked up awesome on the blue groove and our FOX factory tuned suspension took all the abuse we gave it," commented Todd.
The performance of the UPR/ Nissan/ BFGoodrich/ FOX Racing Shox 46 Pro Lite in CORR rounds 7 and 8 maintains his top five overall championship points position. The top five racers are separated by only 77 total points and Todd's has accumulated 653 points after eight rounds of racing. The completion of Round 8 marks the halfway point of the 2008 CORR season as Cuffaro Motorsports peaks heading into the second half of the season.
Saturday's racing action reached a new pinnacle as CORR Pro 4, Pro 2 and Pro Lite racing was televised live on Speed TV nationally. Besides the nearly 30,000 fans at the race track over the weekend, hundreds of thousands of motorsports fans tuned into a 1 ½ hour special CORR motorsports show on Speed TV.
Cuffaro Motorsports is preparing for their next race at CORR Rounds 9 and 10 to be held at the LA Fairplex in Pomona, California on August 16th and 17th. Fans are encouraged to visit the Cuffaro Motorsports pit area at LA Fairplex Pomona to view the latest products of our sponsors and partners. Partners of the 46 CORR Pro Lite include Nissan Motorsports, UPR Racing Supply, FOX Racing Shox, Sparco, BFGoodrich Tires, MSD Ignitions, Red Line Oil, Competitive Metals, Miller Machine Works and Cuffaro Motorsports & Race Prep. Todd Cuffaro featured in today’s San Diego Union Tribune, pick one up near you!!!!!
USD grad gives off-road racing the business
By Bill Center UNION TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER July 24, 2008
San Diego, CA (July 24, 2008) — Race teams in San Diego are usually easy to find.
Most are headquartered in small industrial parks in El Cajon, Santee and Lakeside. But tucked away in Golden Hill?
That is where one of the area's newest teams is located. And it's no usual team.
Cuffaro Motorsports is the working dream of Todd Cuffaro, a 24-year-old USD business administration graduate.
"I started it on a loan from my parents," Cuffaro said Tuesday. "I have to make it happen in two years or I'm done."
Cuffaro will be racing this weekend in Chula Vista in the first of three local doubleheaders in the closed-course Championship Off-Road Racing series.
He will be racing in the ProLite pickup truck division, which doubles as an entry-level class for young drivers looking toward a racing career and veterans seeking to compete at a level just short of the more expensive Pro-4 and Pro-2 main events.
Like the CORR series itself, the ProLite class is expanding rapidly.
"My results are much the same as they were last year," said Cuffaro, who ranks fifth in the points standings after six of 16 races packed into eight weekends. "But there are twice as many trucks as we had last year."
The why of CORR's relatively overnight success goes to the core of problems elsewhere.
Although the short – and frantic – CORR races don't offer traditionalists the challenge of racing long distances in the desert, they are free of the hassles of competing in Mexico these days as well as the expense of establishing outposts over the long distances covered by such events as the Baja 1000 and Las Vegas-Reno.
Plus, fans pay to see CORR events because the short-course races are action-packed to the point that traditionalists believe the bump-and-run nature of CORR racing isn't true off-road racing.
Maybe so, but fans do pay to see CORR events. And the nonstop action has attracted the eye of television. Saturday's half of this week's doubleheader will be televised live on Speed Channel from 3 to 5 p.m., and NBC will air Sunday's racing from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Spectators and television mean there is money in CORR racing that there isn't in the desert. Which is another reason Cuffaro launched his dream of being a professional driver in CORR.
"I wanted to race and I started on road courses in the Pro Mazda Series," said Cuffaro. "But when I looked at everything, it seemed like CORR was the series that was taking off . . . and it was centered right in my backyard."
Plus, CORR wasn't that far from Cuffaro's racing roots. He started riding dirt bikes when he was 12 and raced a number of desert events on two wheels until he broke his back in a 2002 crash in a Best in the Desert race.
That got him into a buggy.
"Like any off-road racer, the ultimate would be to win the Baja 1000," said Cuffaro. "But I like the shorter races. There is more bang for the buck. And when you are looking for sponsorship, there's a much better chance of a sponsor being interested if you are racing before large crowds on television."
Which is where Cuffaro the business graduate blended with Cuffaro the racer.
But it's hard for a young racing team to make it on the returns from racing alone. Were Cuffaro to win a race this weekend on the Chula Vista obstacle course known as the Quarry, it would pay $3,500, with $6,500 more coming his way through contingency awards from sponsors.
That would just about pay the bills up to the next race.
Cuffaro, however, has yet to win a race in a competitive field that includes three former class champions (Jeff Kincaid, Chad Hord and Robert Naughton). His best finish is a fourth recently in Pomona.
"I feel I'm getting closer to that breakthrough win," said Cuffaro.
His team is already advancing on other fronts. His shop preps cars for two other race teams and he has built a second truck to rent to other racers. And he's starting a machine shop on the site with a business partner.
"I'm running it as a business," said Cuffaro.

San Diego’s Todd Cuffaro Sets Ambitions High Headed into "The Quarry" at Chula Vista Internatio
San Diego's Todd Cuffaro Sets Ambitions High Headed into "The Quarry" at Chula Vista International Raceway
San Diego, CA (July 21, 2008)—The second half of the 2008 Championship Off Road Racing Season gets underway this weekend and CORR Pro Lite truck racer, Todd Cuffaro, has his sights set on the top spot. The San Diego native will be racing locally for the first time this season, as his race shop, Cuffaro Motorsports, is located only a stone's throw from "The Quarry" at Chula Vista International Raceway.
"We're excited about racing here in Chula Vista. All of our family, friends and local sponsors will have the opportunity to come out and see us compete on the track. We ran some fast laps here last year and it's good to be racing close to home. We recently finalized some big changes on both of our CORR Pro Lite race trucks in preparation for the second half of our season. We've hung around the top five throughout the first six rounds of racing, but now it's time to break out from the close pack of racers surrounding me. Our extensive testing during the summer break has provided us with some great insight and we were very fast in our recent test here at this very track only a couple weeks ago. I pushed the envelope in that test and I'm feeling confident heading into this weekend," explained the young San Diego racer.
Culminating 487 points among the 28 CORR Pro Lite teams positions Todd Cuffaro in fifth position overall in the season point's race.
"We've been very close to reaching the podium this season and more of the same clean fast racing will get us into the top three. Our crew has worked on the two race trucks non-stop during the summer break and now it's time to get back into the competitive spirit. We are very ready to see the green flag drop," Cuffaro remarked.
Rounds 7 & 8 will begin Saturday, July 26, 2008 at The Quarry, this very fast and difficult race track that has tested the best of the best since opening in 2007 poses no issues for Todd Cuffaro.
"I love the race track. It's fast and furious and demands technical driving which I feel is one of my strong points. The track also has the biggest jump of the season in any of the three race tracks we visit throughout the season and you cannot hold back, you have to let it fly!" beamed Cuffaro.
Todd Cuffaro has been at the top of the class amongst the 15 Pro Lite rookie racers with his strong performances in the first three weekends of racing.
Cuffaro Motorsports debuted their hardware at the first race of the season and they've never looked back. Arriving to the race track with two race ready CORR Pro Lite trucks, a complete crew, and full mobile race shop pulled behind a Freightliner motor home, Todd has set himself apart from the other 27 Pro Lite teams.
"Throughout the 2007 season, we evaluated what the top teams were doing to win races, secure sponsors and be successful, and to do that we decided to go all in. It's paid off, as we continue to perform within the top five. But this is a long season and we've got 10 more rounds of racing, so anything can happen between now and then," regarded Cuffaro.
For the first time the races will be nationally broadcasted LIVE on network television. You won't want to miss this thrilling first step into the future of CORR's programming. The action begins Saturday, July 26 on SPEED at 3 pm PT and Sunday, July 27 on NBC at 12 pm PT.
Broadcasting from The Quarry in Chula Vista, just south of San Diego, SPEED and NBC will bring you racing LIVE and in high-definition on July 26 and 27.
Sponsors of the 46 CORR Pro Lite are Nissan Motorsports, UPR Racing Supply, FOX Racing Shox, Sparco, BFGoodrich Tires, MSD Ignitions, Red Line Oil, Competitive Metals, Miller Machine Works and Cuffaro Motorsports & Race Prep.

46 NISSAN / UPR Racing Supply Strides to Top Ten Finishes at CORR Los Angeles Rounds 5 & 6
46 NISSAN / UPR Racing Supply Strides to Top Ten Finishes at CORR Los Angeles Rounds 5 & 6
Cuffaro Motorsports Solid in 4th Place Series Points Race
San Diego, CA (June 13, 2008) — Racer Todd Cuffaro arrived to the Los Angeles Fairplex in Pomona, California with one thing on his mind and that was to continue his chase towards a championship season. The young rookie driver has faced perhaps the deepest field of CORR Pro Lite racers in history. So far in the 2008 season, CORR has seen all of the nation's top Pro Lite racers compete in the predominant West Coast series. In previous seasons, some past champions have not competed in the CORR series opting to stay closer to home. However, that is not the case in the 2008 season.
Past seasons Pro Lite champions currently fill the top six spots, except for the lone rookie, Todd Cuffaro.
"I know we can hang with the top teams. We've had some success in the first six races of the season, but the podium has eluded us to this point. Nonetheless, the 46 team will continue to push hard and strive to finish in the top of the pack in every race," said a smiling Todd Cuffaro.
Cuffaro raced well on the track in Saturday's Round 5 ultimately suffering damage from a multi-truck incident that forced him to simply run off-pace laps around the track.
The 46 was a victim of hard driving by the 2007 Pro Lite Champion, Robert Naughton, who was black flagged for his driving style. "Naughton's aggressive driving turned the final corner into a demolition derby and his mistake ended up with four or five trucks suffering damage. That particular incident led to the demise of any podium opportunities on Saturday. Racing has its ups and downs. That's for sure!" said Cuffaro.
Sunday's Round 6 faired much better for the NISSAN young gun as he waged war with the lead pack and ultimately finished sixth among the field of 28. The NISSAN / UPR Racing Supply sponsored truck ran clean throughout the 15 lap race chasing the eventual winner, 5-time CORR Pro Lite Champion, Jeff Kincaid.
"I'm pleased, but not satisfied from the weekend of racing. I want this truck on the podium every single race. Our time is near and the team is clicking on all cylinders right now, so it's going to happen soon. We are making improvements each time we hit the track," he continued.
With his solid driving performance at the second visit to the .76-mile LA Fairplex-Pomona race track, the San Diego native put the 46 NISSAN / UPR Racing Supply Pro Lite into the top five of the series point's race.
"Ultimately, our goal is to be there in the final few races of the season competing for the series championship. We've stayed close in the top five and I predict victory in the near future," commented Cuffaro.
Cuffaro Motorsports will take advantage of the six-week CORR summer break, not to take time off on the beaches of San Diego, but rather to improve on the race truck's dynamics and continue the all important test sessions. Consistency and momentum are important ingredients in the fight for Victory Lane at the Championship Off Road Racing series. Fueled by the passion of many top racers, the 2008 CORR Series has sparked inevitable interest from many different facets of motor sports drawing from both pavement and dirt. Live NBC Sports and SPEED TV coverage from the track has catapulted the excitement of CORR racing to a whole new level this 2008 season.
"We are excited about the remainder of the 2008 season. Chula Vista is a long and fast track and we run well there. Not to mention, it's only a few minutes from our race shop in downtown San Diego. We will have new NISSAN power at Chula Vista, so there is no doubt we expect to be contenders," said Cuffaro. Todd Cuffaro Marks Another Big Step Heading To Championship Off Road Racing's LA Fairplex-Pomon
Todd Cuffaro Marks Another Big Step Heading To Championship Off Road Racing's LA Fairplex-Pomona In Nissan / UPR Racing Supply CORR Pro Lite
San Diego, CA (June 4, 2008) – Headed into the third race weekend of the 2008 season, Nissan/UPR Racing Supply supported, Todd Cuffaro, continues to make strides in his first full season in the Championship Off Road Racing series.
After two challenging race weekends, the talented San Diego native, is mixed among the best of the Pro Lite field at the top of the series point's standings. Three prior series champions and last year's Crandon World Champion surround one of the fastest phenoms to hit Championship Off Road Racing in many years.
"Consistency on the track is what we've been striving for in the first few race weekends and that won't change much this weekend either. However, we've been to this LA Fairplex-Pomona track already once this year and we will be applying much of what we learned from the season opener here at this race. We continue to improve each race and currently we are sitting in fourth position in the standings. Different than other racers around us, we've yet to podium, but our truck has proven to be very consistent and the team is clicking on all cylinders," explained the Nissan young gun.
Cuffaro's best result this season was fourth thus far, but his consistent efforts in the other three races have positioned him into the top five of the series point's standings. Only six weeks ago, Cuffaro was one of the so-called 2008 CORR season "rookies" adhering to the rookie rule of having the rear bumper of his Nissan/UPR Racing Supply Pro Lite truck emblazoned with reflectorized yellow rookie tape.
"We're going the right way and we are contending for the top-five in each race. We really like the LA Fairplex-Pomona track and we expect to push speeds and reach the podium very soon," commented Cuffaro.
Slated for two days of door-to-door battles with the nation's top CORR teams, a little familiarity certainly will help the 23-year old San Diego business entrepreneur in his racing endeavors. Cuffaro is no stranger to racing, as he's explored several different motor sports disciplines before committing to the exploding off road motor sports series, Championship Off Road Racing.
"The timing for entering the CORR ranks was right for our team. We've raced in the desert and on the asphalt and we were successful winning in both arenas. CORR's inherent national exposure is providing us with an avenue for promotion and exposure in the media and on television. In only the first four races of the season we've garnered some television time and we know there is more in the near future," stated the smiling Cuffaro.
Unlike more than a handful of the 30 plus CORR Pro Lite teams, Cuffaro's first couple of race weekends have been far from a roller coaster ride. In fact, many outsiders have peered into the Cuffaro Motorsports operation looking for that weak link, but none have been found as of yet.
"We've got a really long way to go to make it into championship form, but all the pieces of the puzzle are in place and we're not worried about being in position to charge towards the series championship at the end of the season. I feel confident with the support from our partners, as well as solid team members behind the truck, that we will contend for championship all season long," said Todd.
Fans are encouraged to visit the Cuffaro Motorsports Nissan / UPR Racing Supply Pit Zone to receive signed autograph hero cards of Todd Cuffaro.

Cuffaro Leaves Las Vegas on Upswing Driving the 46 Nissan / UPR Racing Supply Pro Lite To 4th
Cuffaro Leaves Las Vegas on Upswing Driving the 46 Nissan / UPR Racing Supply Pro Lite To 4th Overall in Championship Point's Standings
San Diego , CALIFORNIA (May 20 , 2008) — Sixteen races spread out over eight race weekends make up this season's 2008 Championship Off Road Racing Series. Thus far, everything has gone the right way for Cuffaro Motorsports.
The Las Vegas International Raceway at Primm, Nevada loves to play games with the best drivers in off road racing and that was evident in CORR Rounds 3 & 4, as many of the CORR top dogs ran afoul of this challenging race course carved in the dirt of the Southern Nevada desert.
The 46 Nissan / UPR Racing Supply sponsored race truck suffered some of the Primm wrath, but not nearly as severe as some of the other Pro Lite competitors. Cuffaro not only survived, but he raced hard completing each day of race action with solid finishes among the top ten. Finishing Saturday's Round 3 in 5th place and Sunday's Round 4 in 8th place allowed Cuffaro to move up in the overall championship point's standings from previously being tied at 6th to capping off the weekend in 4th place overall.
Todd seized the opportunity to carry positive momentum from a difficult race track that has put the hurt on many drivers over the past two seasons. "We had a good solid run this weekend," Cuffaro said. "I bobbled the throttle during a shift at the start of Saturday's race and I had to fight to get back into the top five. Las Vegas International Raceway is an awesome track and I can't wait to come back and improve my times."
The 46 Nissan Pro Lite made its way through much slower traffic in both rounds of racing as CORR inverted the starting positioning of the top eight after excellent qualifying by hard charging, Todd Cuffaro.
The top eight mandatory inversions placed much slower trucks in the front of the pack and it took several laps around the .94-mile race track before the speedsters moved towards the front.
"I made a couple of mistakes, but my crew gave me a fast enough truck that we were able to hold it together for the long runs. We ran our strategy and we're racing for the long haul. It's a really long season and the preparation on our two race trucks has to be perfect in order for us to be in it in the end. The Nissan power plant really performed in the heat of the weekend.
Our BFGoodrich Tires survived the blue groove with the heat index soaring over 100 degrees. When we come back here for the fall race, we'll groove our tires slightly different. We've learned some things this past weekend."
Cuffaro said other teams were quicker to adjust to the changing track conditions between practice, qualifying and the race and that single reason contributed to why he struggled to run up front early in the race.
"I really had to dig hard to make up positions. We stayed out of trouble for the most part, while many others were banged up and disabled along side of the race track."
An unusual spring heat wave pounded the Western United States in the few days leading up to the race, while race weekend temperatures topped 100 degrees putting the hurt on everyone at the track.
Todd mentioned, "Many thanks goes out to all the track workers who braved the intense heat conditions over the five-day race week along with the fans who came out to the race track under the blazing sun and very warm conditions." Todd Cuffaro Charging The 46 CORR Pro Lite Hard /Top Five in Points Headed Into CORR Las Vegas
Championship Off Road Racing continues their extensive television coverage on SPEED TV & NBC Sports
San Diego, CA (May 12, 2008) – The 2008 Championship Off Road Racing Series returns to dirt at the Las Vegas International Raceway at Primm with door-to-door racing action on May 17th & 18th, 2008. Technically considered a rookie for the 2008 season, Todd Cuffaro will buckle into the 46 Nissan-powered Pro Lite as he charges towards breaking into the top three by weekend's end.
Facing many of the nation's top Pro Lite racers, Todd has positioned himself nicely for a run to the top. He is currently positioned with 166 total series points tied for fifth place in the season point's battle, which is destined to become even tighter as the season wears on.
Racing the powerful Nissan-power plant in the exquisitely prepped 46 race truck, Cuffaro has one goal in mind and that's to continue his strategy towards winning the 2008 CORR Pro Lite series championship.
Todd said, "We have retained the services of Sly Alvira, who was instrumental in working with the previous owner of our championship winning truck, Chad Hord. Sly brings an incredible wealth of knowledge to our program relating to the Nissan power plant in addition to the truck overall.'
"We are excited to race in the CORR Series, as well as be part of their television package. We had some TV exposure during the last race weekend and that translates into great impressions for our sponsors."
Todd's program is supported by Nissan Motorsports, BFGoodrich Tires, FOX Racing Shox, UPR Racing Supply, Competitive Metals, Miller Machine Works and Red Line Synthetic Oil.
Cuffaro commented, "We are coming back to a race track that we have as much track time as the rest of the competition. Prior to the season, we tested here extensively and I feel confident that we can run fast anywhere on the Vegas track. We are in good company near the top of the Pro Lite field and we've made some significant adjustments since the last race. I'm excited to be in the top five and I plan to drive us into the top three by the end of Round 4."
Scheduled for 16 rounds of off road racing at three tracks in the western United States, Championship Off Road Racing continues their extensive television coverage on both SPEED TV and NBC Sports as they head into the second weekend of racing, which includes the very competitive Pro Lite field.
Cuffaro Motorsports invites fans, sponsors, friends and family to join the race weekend festivities in the pits where you can watch all the action up close and personal. Feel free to come by the 46 Pro Lite pit zone for an autographed poster of Todd Cuffaro. You can also see the latest in race safety equipment provided by UPR Racing Supply & SPARCO safety products all in use in the 46 Nissan Pro Lite race truck.
