DON’T BE AN UNCULTURED, RACIST PIG!

DON'T BE AN UNCULTURED, RACIST PIG! (Cultural Diversity in My Perspective)

I am proud to say that I have developed an awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity at an early age. I remember back in elementary having friends from various different ethnic backgrounds and being able to get along with them all. Throughout middle school and junior high, I always enjoyed those International or Cultural Festival days where everyone would come to school in their national costumes and bring in exotic foods from their home country to share. Although I did not have so much of an obsession with books back then, at the age of 12, I managed to read many volumes of translated international fairy tales from China, India, Germany, Greece, Japan, Lao, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
In 2000, I heard from a magazine article somewhere that Madonna had highly praised a novel titled "Memoirs of a Geisha", commenting it had completely changed her life. I decided to look into this book and immediately became intrigued by the fact that the author, Arthur Golden, was not only a male but also a Caucasian, which means that he was so passionate about the Japanese culture to the point that he had committed to compose a 512 pages novel about the life, love, and art of a Japanese artisan from the female perspective. After taking 4 days to complete Golden's splendid novel, I too have fallen in love with the Japanese culture. Since then, instead of browsing the romance or science fantasy sections at the bookstores and library, I began turning to books that would teach me about cultures that are different from my own. I truly believe that every culture is fascinating in its own way.
After the terrorist attack of 2001, some Americans had ignorantly developed anti-Muslim sentiment, blaming Muslims all over the globe and even Muslim Americans of Middle Eastern descent living in the United States for what happened. Instead of acknowledging that all religions and races have misguided individuals, some uneducated Americans have quickly jumped to the generalization that all Muslims and or Middle Easterners were terrorists. I thought it was such a shame how these supposedly patriots had quickly forgotten their American history lesson of Pearl Harbor which had resulted in the regrettable internment of more than 110,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans in 1942. When Khaled Hosseini's book "The Kite Runner" had made it to the Number 1 New York Times Bestseller List shortly after its publication in 2004, I was glad to know that many Americans, like myself, have chosen to obtain a better knowledge of Afghanistan and its people through reading this book, rather than remaining absolutely clueless about the country that the US was going into war with.
Anyone who has ever been in college and or have taken intercultural studies courses may have heard of the name Franz Boas or Bronisaw Malinowski. Famous cultural anthropologists like themselves have theorized that unfamiliarity, illiteracy and ethnocentrism, the belief that one's own race or ethnic group is the most idealized, important or superior to other groups, are the roots of misconceptions about other cultures, leading to the cause of racism and discrimination. Knowing this information, I continue to educate and encourage myself to explore different cultures by traveling, reading, watching foreign films, listening to world music, trying ethnic foods, taking sociocultural classes, but most importantly, by meeting interesting people and keeping an open mind.
It is indeed very easy to make generalizations about a certain group after having just a few negative encounters with some members especially since the media is still portraying many negative stereotypes about minorities. As the world is becoming more globalized every hour, however, it is time to make room for cross-cultural understanding and to celebrate diversity because in the end we are all world citizens. There is absolutely nothing that would turn me off more than an uncultured pig who makes derogatory comments, intentionally or not, about someone from a different race and other ethnic groups. I am sure that ninety percent of the time those that carry racial prejudice actually know nothing about the culture that they claim to dislike and are trying to make fun of.
So the next time, you're about to make a racial joke or say something racist along with your friends, please ask yourself, how much do you actually know about that culture? Have you ever been to that country? Read a book, watched a movie or did any research on their background? And at the very least, have you tried any of their food??? Please begin to educate yourself. Thanks!

LOST SUMMER NIGHTS...

LOST SUMMER NIGHTS
(Please Note: This wasn't written from my personal experience nor did I write for anyone in particular but the poem is rather for all of the guys who have ever loved me and for those I have once loved... And for the rest of you: Have a nice summer!)

Dear one true love,
If you ever read these words that I am about to write,
Please remember the love that we shared that one summer night.
The Love that was real,
The Love that was true,
The Love that made me fall head over heels for you.
You changed my life in so many ways
You turned my dark lonely nights into sweet summer days.
You gave me love like I had never felt before
And then one day you walked out the door,
No goodbye for me to hear,
Just the sound of my lonely tears.
I never knew why you left so soon
And how you forgot our sweet slow tune.
The way we moved in each other's arms
I could never forget your sweet loving charm.
The smell of your skin still haunts my mind
As time goes by, I still wonder why
I wish I could see you for just one more time,
To make up for our lost summer nights...

STALKER LISTED MY PROFILE 4 SALE ON EBAY!
Current mood: amused
Hi Guys,
First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I've been having a very busy week, I'm out of town for an important meeting but anyway, I need to put up this blog to inform everyone on Myspace and Ebay that I AM NOT SELLING MY MYSPACE PROFILE! I received an email earlier on today, from a guy named P* who's interested in buying my profile directly from me. What a smart person, though, because he sent me a direct email, to confirm that it was really me who had listed the profile for sale. Needless to say, I told him that it is a scam and thank him for informing me.
Apparently, someone is trying to do a prank by shamelessly listing my profile on eBay for sale behind my back, with hopes that eBay would report this kind of abuse to Myspace and get me deleted. I know exactly who did this as well as what their intentions are since this is not the first time I'm getting targeted. But little did these two individuals know, I have spoken to Tom personally three months ago to verify my identity that I'm a real person, and the fact that I have always abided to Myspace's terms & conditions. Therefore, my profile will never get deleted, regardless of any other dirty tricks these villains may try to pull.
None of you know this but for the past whole year, I've actually been harassed / stalked nonstop by 2 obsessive ex-friends! This is why I only have 4 people on my Top Friends and have been disclosing very little information about myself on Myspace. I try to conceal my age, location, etc... I also don't really post pictures that I have taken with other people on my profile so that I can protect their privacy because I've learned to be cautious with everything. There's this Asian proverb that I love: "Pigs are scared of getting fat. People should be afraid to get famous." It means when pigs gain weight, they would end up being slaughtered for meat. In comparison, when a person gains fame, popularity or success, they would need to watch out for all kinds of drama because there will plenty of those who are waiting to stab their back. This is why a lot of celebrities have stressful lives, complain about being depressed and have very few true friends.
So in regards to the internet harassment, I do quietly report every abuse to Myspace every time I get bugged but never once have I publicly made any announcement about this because I refuse to give these haters any more free publicity than they have already gotten from being my former friends. However, there are also other types of harassment outside of the internet that I have been silently dealing with for the past whole year: the types of harassment that are either too personal or too ridiculous to be brought up on Myspace. The types of harassment which involve insulting, impersonating, slandering, stalking, allegating, and sabotaging. Never once have I bothered contacting or responding to these losers because I have taken enough psychology courses to know that psychos get off from receiving any type of reaction.
Neither have I ever seek any form of retaliation or stood up to address any misunderstanding resulting from their false accusations. I didn't fight back not because I'm a coward. I didn't fight back not because I'm scared. I didn't fight back not because I'm too dumb to also come up with dirty tricks to use like they have. Instead, I laugh at these people's immaturity and insecurity then I feel bad for them for letting hatred take over their lives and allowing jealousy to blacken their hearts. I shrug everything off my shoulders because I am too much of a classy person to stoop down to their level. I'm also too smart to be wasting my energy and precious time on those who are evil and jealous.
My mom has always taught me to be a good person and to just ignore all rumors and bad people. She says "As long as you know you're a good person and that you didn't do anything wrong. That's all that matters." I follow her advice by heart and will continue to be a strong, positive woman because I truly believe that whatever energy you pass around, whether good or bad, will be what you'll eventually receive in return. Moreover, only unwise people would believe in rumors. If they believe in anything / everything someone else says, without confirming the information with me, they aren't worth to be kept or admitted in my circle in the first place. Further more, I am too busy and have too much of a good life to be focusing on negativity. If I have one advice to give everyone about haters/stalkers, mean, bad people, it would be this: If they are happy with themselves and really have a life, they wouldn't be bothering you. And if you're happy with your own life, you wouldn't let them get to you either.
Back to the eBay listing: I can't believe there are already 6 bids on there and that the price is now $500 something. I don't know whether the listing will get deleted on its own or would it end with a winner. But no matter how much the price goes up to, please know that I would never want to sell my profile. The network and friends connection I have on here with you all is priceless and worth more than any money can ever buy. So please, if you have seen the listing, DO NOT PLACE ANY BID! If you have bid on it, please do not pay the seller because the listing is an evil scam. Good luck to everyone and have a happy Easter weekend.

MAN, HORSE AND DOG
Current mood: bouncy
Category: Life
Hey Guys,
If you're a frequent visitor of my profile, you would have probably noticed that I have not written or posted any new blogs in forever. Time goes by so fast but I can still remember the day I wrote my last blog in September as if it was only yesterday. February is approaching with Spring flowers waiting to bloom in the breezy wind yet I terribly miss the beauty of Autumn colors along with those joyous gatherings that Winter brings. In the process of trying to adjust to this chilly, rainy weather, I still can't believe that New Year's has already passed. Sigh, how did my Winter break go by so fast? I should not be complaining too much, perhaps, since I'm having a great start in 2008 and currently preparing for the even more magnificent things to arrive. Needless to say, I also want to wish everyone the best of luck in all of their future endeavors. Happy New Year!
Back to the topic I've always wanted to talk about: BLOGS! It is obvious that everyone on Myspace has a different blogging style. Some people do not have any posts at all while others may put up a new blog every other day. Topics can range anywhere from movies, music, dreams, life, politics, education, love, friendship, to any other current world issues. Whether their motive is to advertise, inform, amuse, advise, persuade, lie or put on a show, I still think that we can tell A LOT about person from reading their blogs. Of course not everyone had actually written the blogs posted on their profile since the ease and convenience of internet resources entices plagiarism to exist beyond the academic world. When people express ideas in their own words, however, we can often get a good sense of their style, as well as feelings, character, personality, class and intelligence, more so than we can by just observing their photographs. As someone who adores literature and a person who both reads and writes on a regular basis, I cannot help but judge everyone by the quality of their writing. A clear, well-written blog with effective introduction, diction, tone and figurative language that accompanies a mature perspective indicates an intelligent, classy and well-educated person. In contrast, a sloppy blog full of grammar and spelling mistakes with poor syntax would be a good sign that the writer has never gone to college or even graduated from highschool. A blog with some tasteful sarcasm can be demonstrate the writer's wit while any rediculously exaggerated or malicious nonsense blogs with the intention to disrespect or put down other people would only expose the writer's own insecurity, jealousy and insanity. Such bitterness should only be reserved for their therapists!
Personally, whenever I write a blog, it is either to help myself crystallize my own thoughts or to get in touch with my inner feelings and to express myself about different issues that I think everyone can relate to. But because of my busy schedule, I don't get to write as many blogs as I would like but with every entry that I manage to post has only been intended to entertain or share some useful knowledge, view or philosophy with others. Learning is a life-long process, learning from one another is one sure way to survive and thrive. Below is a short fable I've came across while reading a book. I'd like to share it with you guys because it's quite adorable. One story can carry different meanings to different people. However the fable may mean to you, I hope you will ponder for a minute or two at its conclusion, just like I have. Thanks for reading!
A Fable: MAN, HORSE and DOG
Unknown Author

Once upon a time, a man, his horse and his dog were traveling along a road. As they passed by a huge tree, it was struck by lightning, and they all died. But the man failed to notice that he was no longer of this world and so he continued walking along with his two animal companions. Sometimes the dead take a while to register their new situation…
It was a long, uphill walk, the sun was beating down on them, and they were all sweating and thirsty. At a bend in the road they saw a magnificent marble gateway that led into a gold-paved square, in the center of which was a fountain overflowing with crystal-clear water. The man went over to the guard at the entrance.
"Good morning." the man greeted.
"Good morning," the guard replied.
"What is this lovely place?"
"It's Heaven."
"Well, I'm very glad to see it, because we're very thirsty."
"You're welcome to come in and drink all the water you want." And the guard indicated the fountain.
"My horse and dog are also thirsty."
"I'm terribly sorry," said the guard, "but animals are not allowed in here."
The man was deeply disappointed for he really was very thirsty, but he was not prepared to drink alone, so he thanked the guard and went on his way. Exhausted after more trudging uphill, they reached an old gateway that opened onto a dirt road flanked by trees. A man, his hat pulled down over his face, was stretched out in the shade of one of the trees, apparently asleep.
"Good morning," said the traveler. The other man greeted him with a nod.
"We're very thirsty – me, my horse and my dog."
"There's a spring over there amongst those rocks," said the man, indicating the spot. "You can drink all you want."
The man, his horse and his dog went to the spring and quenched their thirst. The traveler returned to thank the man.
"You are welcomed to stay," he was told.
"By the way, what's this place called?"
"Heaven."
"Heaven? But the guard at the marble gateway told me that was Heaven!"
"That's not Heaven, that's Hell."
The traveler was puzzled. "You shouldn't let others take your name in vain, you know! False information can lead to all kinds of confusion!"
"On the contrary, they do us a great favor, because the ones who stay there are those who have proved themselves capable of abandoning their dearest friends."
CITED: Coehlo, Paulo (2007). The Devil and Miss Prym: A Novel of Temptation. New York: Harper Perennial
*Note: The fable was found in the book cited above. There was no title so I came up with the name "MAN, HORSE, AND DOG".

IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE, SET THEM FREE?
Current mood: determined
IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE, SET THEM FREE?
Letting go of something or someone we love can never be easy. Although the old saying "If you love something, set it free" may be true, when it comes time to set that thing free, it's as if life has thrown us one of the sharpest curveballs. As an optimist, however, I always try to make the best out of every situation so why not make lemonade out of the lemons that are thrown at us? Read along and laugh with me!
THE ORIGINAL QUOTE
"If you love someone, set them free ... If they come back, they are yours, If they don't, they never were...."

Biologist: If you love someone, set them free ... They'll evolve.
C++ Programmer: if(you-love(m_they)) m_they.free() m_they = new Cthey;

Doctor: If you love someone, set them free ... If they don't come back, they are healthy If they do come back, they probably caught a new disease!
ERP functional expert: If you love someone, set them free ... If they come back, map them into your system If they don't, carry out a gap-fit analysis.

Pessimist: If you love someone, set them free ... They will probably never return If they do come back, they will end up leaving again.
Playful: If you love someone, set them free ... If they come back, and if you love them still, set them free again, repeat *
Psychologist: If you love someone, set them free ... If they come back, their super ego is dominant If they don't come back, they must be psychotic.
Schwarzenegger's fans: If you love someone, set them free ... THEY'LL BE BACK!

Suspicious: If you love someone, set them free ... If they ever come back, ask them why.
To conclude this blog, I'd like to insert a line from the message I've just received from a Myspace friend "If someone wants to go then it's not love. Either you love someone or you don't. Love is unconditional in every way so why would someone who really loves you choose to leave instead of working things out? You shouldn't be with them, or even think about it. Don't sell yourself short."

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ME?
Current mood: indescribable
WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ME?
1/ What do you normally do when you log into Myspace?
- I'm a very busy person so I only have about thirty to sixty minutes to spend on Myspace each day. Usually, all of my Myspace time is spent on approving friend requests or reading comments, and picture comments. I don't have time to read all messages. I'm still way behind on my mail. Occasionally, I'll randomly reply or comment back a few people, or friends I've have talked to before. It is impossible for me to reply to anyone and everyone, considering the amount of friends I have, messages and hits my profile gets every day. This is why I have not gotten back to you guys. I'm sorry!
2/ What sets you apart from others?
- Most people out there are always into new things. They follow the latest fashion and love new cars, new houses, new music, new friends or even new romances. They will easily hop to the hottest new club when their old favorite hang out spot gets boring. They can meet someone new today and immediately forget about their current beau or the person they were just with three days ago. Don't get me wrong, I also love new things since they can be fun, cool or even intriguing but I always find myself cherishing the old things so much more because nothing can replace the history I've shared with them. For example, someone can give me a $10,000 diamond watch tomorrow. Sure, I'll love it but that doesn't mean I would like it as much as the $60 watch I've bought years ago with my very first paycheck. I'm the kind of person that would still go to my favorite club no matter how boring it gets, as long as it still opens. I would also continue to visit the same restaurants over and over again, always ordering the same food. I guess I'm just like my dad, we're both very sentimental people.
3/ What do you value the most in life?
- Needless to say, what I value the most would be my family members because they are the only people I can fully trust and rely on. They are also the only people who will always support, protect and love me unconditionally. Other than that, I also deeply cherish all the unforgettable memories I've had in life from junior high and high school to those good times I've shared with family, friends, and former boyfriends. Many of those people may no longer be in my life but I still care for them and wish them well.
4/ What makes you happy?
- People who feel unhappy are usually those who are always chasing after something (usually fame or finance), or wanting more out of life since grass usually seems greener on the other side. To me, simplicity is happiness. Simple things that can make me happy can be anything from a beautiful Autumn day, a good book, a funny movie, a cute email, a body massage, a sweet Myspace message to a day at the beach or seeing a beautiful scene and so on… As long as there is a roof over my head and bread on the table, I have no reason to be unhappy, considering the fact that there are millions of starving and homeless children in other countries. I'm also very grateful for having such a great, loving family and the fact that my parents are still married to each other. Most people I know either come from a divorced family, or a single parent household. Perhaps, worst of all, some people out there don't even have parents or know who their parents are at all. I am just very thankful for what I have and try not to take anything for granted.
5/ What are Your Dislikes?
- Just to name a few: Ants, Cockroaches, Spiders, Bugs in general, Backstabbers, Bad Customer Service, Betrayals, Being Stuck in Traffic, Animal Abuse, Chemistry, Math, History, Child Abuse, Corruptions (in governement, politics, justice system), Copy Cats, Conservativeness, Conformity, Cowardice, Diseases, Dirty Tricks, Drug Users, Empty Minds, Enviness, Fakeness, Fakers, Ghettoness, Injustice, Insecurity, Lies, Moving, Negativity, Nosy People (why can't they mind their own effin business?), Obliviousness, Pessimistic, Politics, Poor Hygiene, Poverty, Prejudice, Racism, Rudeness, Selfishness, Sociopaths, Waiting in line, People Taking Advantage of Another (ie. The strong taking advantage of the weak, The rich taking advantage of the poor, men taking advantage of women, although occasionally, it can also be the other way around, hehe), Same old typical Happy Endings or predictable plots in Movies and Books!
6/ What are your strengths?
- Aside my strengths that most people are already aware of such as independence, intelligence, honesty, loyalty or optimism, I am also a very fair and righteous person. I have my set of principles which I always adhere to and never allow myself to owe anyone anything, be it emotionally or materialistically. I am also creative and can usually come up with fantastic ideas or plans. I'm a "mind my own business" kind of person, I don't pry in anyone else's life although people always try to pry in mine.
7/ What are your weaknesses?
- I'm a hopelessly romantic so love has always been my biggest weakness. I've sacrificed a lot in my past relationships but unfortunately, most of those efforts were not recognized or appreciated. As a result, I usually end up being regarded as either a bitch or an unstable girlfriend candidate. I've also let my emotions get in the way of my logic quite many times but I can't help it, I'm just after a woman after all.
8/ What is the biggest mistake you've ever made?
- Being the oldest child, I never had an older sibling to look up to or get advice from so I've made a lot of mistakes. Not only that, I've also repeated some of those mistakes more than once. Of course, there are mistakes that I regret and there are also mistakes that I don't. Regardless, I'm very happy with my life and the person I've became today. No one is perfect so I refuse to beat myself up over failures. Life is a continual learning process, which I learn new things each day. The more mistakes I make, the more wisdom I seem to gain. I can't wait to share my wisdoms with my younger siblings and maybe my children or even grandchildren one day.
9/ What was the last movie you watched?
- The last movie I saw in theater was "Shrek the Third" (it's been a while). The last movie I watched on DVD was probably "John Tucker Must Die" (I watched it three times already). The two movies I'll be watching later on today will be "Waiting" and "A Night at the Museum". They better be good! I'm also currently in the mood for something scary like "The Grudge 2", or "Twenty-three" and "Zodiac" but I am too scared to watch them alone so I'll have to save horror movies for the next time I have a friend over. I'm also waiting for "Desperate Housewives" Season 3 to come out on DVD's, the last time I checked it was going to be released this September. I am so addicted and just can't wait!
10/ What are you currently reading?
- The last book I read was "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser. It is an artfully argued expose' about the American fast food and meat packing industry. It's kind of like the modern version of Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle". The book was kind of boring at first but after you get a bit more into it, there are numerous of interesting facts and insights, you'll be intrigued, mad, shock and surprised. Your eating habits will also be changed forever! Right now, I'm currently reading "Interpreter of Maladies" by one of my favorite authors Jhumpa Lahiri .
11/ What are you looking forward to for the rest of 2007?
- I will start mapping out my plan for Sept-Dec very soon. I am glad Summer is almost over because I've always been much more of a "Fall-Winter" kind of person. I am just so excited because my favorite season, Autumn, is almost here. I can't wait to see those beautiful golden leaves everywhere I drive and then there will be those fun holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There will be no one to hold my hands or lend me a jacket as the season changes and the weather gets cold, since I'm currently single, but that's okay, I'll remember to keep myself warm by staying away from short mini-skirts ;)

ONE BEAUTIFUL SUMMER (and a note to everyone)
Current mood: hot
Dear Friends and Fans,
I've been getting a lot of sweet messages and cute comments from you guys ever since I started this Myspace account (on April 9, 2007) and today is July 9, 2007, it has been exactly three months!
I'd like to include a short message in this blog to thank everyone for their love, support, and kindness. I would also like to apologize for not being able to reply, as I am behind in my mail with more than 400 pages of unread messages. Sometimes people get upset when they don't hear back from me. A few have called me names and made assumptions that I'm a snob or that I don't like them. WRONG. I haven't written you back NOT because I'm a mean girl. I haven't written you back NOT because I hate you. I haven't written you back NOT because I find you unattractive. I haven't written you back because I HAVE BEEN TOO BUSY!
I'm NOT trying to make excuses for myself but please kindly put yourself in my position, I have a 4 digit account and I'm HOT (sorry to keep rubbing it in, hehe) which means I get a lot of mail every second, every minute, every hour, every day. I would love being able to respond to everyone but that would definitely require spending all of my time on Myspace. Please don't take it personal and just try to be patient with me.
It is now Summer and the season for vacations, movies, beaches, surfing, road trips, picnics, and BBQ's. I haven't even had the time to do much of those fun things lately. It's hard when you have a fast-paced life, full with responsibilities, a college education to complete, dreams to follow, goals to ahieve, a family to cherish and take care of. I always feel like there's never enough hours in a day to do the all tasks I need to complete and the extra hobbies I'd like to pursue. (I'm sure you all have been in my shoes.) Sometimes I just want to take a break and go somewhere far away, maybe to a deserted island, or perhaps to an abandoned cave, where there would be no one else around. A day away from this loud, competitive, and superficial world with nothing but the beautiful nature surrounding me? Needless to say, I would consider that Paradise.
To my closest friends and loving fans, whether it's partying, swimming, going to the beach, working an extra job, going to summer school, whatever you're doing, I hope you're having tons of fun and the best summer of your life. If you're not busy, get busy, it would make life more meaningful and if you're already busy, don't forget to make time for your loved ones. With all that being said, here's my blog, it's a beautiful Summer poem, written for all of you…
Lots of Love,
<3 Tali

One Beautiful Summer
I remember one beautiful summer The flowers bloomed, the sun shined In the soft green grass where we laid Hand in hand, just you and I
I heard the birds sang a lovely tune When I was with you in the afternoons The moon beamed a soft light By my bedside when I thought of you at night
Moments with you I always treasure The quiet strolls along the river or those peaceful hikes up the canyon With you, simple things were real pleasures.
As I sit here with my cherished past It's been many summers since I saw you last I know our love wasn't meant to be But those precious moments, I'll make them last!

SEXY OR SKANKY?
So I always read these Cosmopolitan magazines, etc… and they usually have a mini section on what's currently sexy and what's currently skanky. For example: Low rise jeans are considered hot and panty lines are not. So that caused me to think how there's such a thin line between sexy and skanky. Victoria's Secrets and Fredericks of Hollywood both sell lingerie and use attractive models to advertise but how come Victoria's Secrets is so much more popular and considered hotter, as well as classier? We often hear "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so what's stunning according to one person might not be regarded the same way by another. This explains why we all have different opinions so it's only normal if some of you choose to disagree with my points but I don't care. Temptresses are always right =P I didn't write this blog to attack or give advice to anyone. I wrote this blog because I love my style, taste and humor, a lot of you do too, so read on and welcome to my tempting world.
SEXY OR SKANKY?
1/ SEXY: Modeling for your own car or for your boyfriend's (I think that's really cute).
SKANKY: Import Modeling: Bending over ghetto cars in Forever 21 clothes, making $50 - $100 a day, being ogled at by sick perverts.
2/ SEXY: Posting sexy but tasteful pictures of yourself in Halloween costumes and or sexy bikinis on Myspace.
SKANKY: Posting pictures of yourself in lingerie, or semi-nude pics, spreading your legs on the bed, couch, bending over a pool table, etc… Hello, porn stars get paid for this kinda stuff but you don't!
3/ SEXY: Dating a younger guy, as long as you look his age, or even younger!
SKANKY: Unless you're Demi Moore, dating a guy who is young enough to be your son is incestuous.
4/ SEXY: Dating an older guy, as long as he's still hot!
SKANKY: Dating an older guy that is old enough to be your father or grandfather.
5/ SEXY: Getting a fake tan.
SKANKY: Getting fake breasts. I was watching Dr. 90210 or whatever and I always see some strippers with prior D cup breast augmentations going to back to the surgeons, asking for an increase to double or triple D's, etc.. I was thinking these women would be better off spending their money to go visit a Shrink instead.
6/ SEXY: Dating several guys at once but not sleeping with any of them. Guys love blue balls anyway. LOL.
SKANKY: Sleeping with twenty guys in one week then getting pregnant and end up on one of those Maury Povich shows for a paternity test, crying to the talk show host, swearing to the audience that you've only slept with one guy and how you're sure who the daddy of your baby is.
7/ SEXY: Giving another girl props for her beauty, intelligence, and / or confidence.
SKANKY: Hating on a girl like myself for being gorgeous. Once again, jealousy is a very ugly thing and it won't help make you any prettier!
8/ SEXY: Wearing a tight dress with no underwear when you go out on a hot date.
SKANKY: Flashing your chest and / or snatch at the paparazzi, on those girl's gone wild's videos, or just for the heck of it because you're drunk at a party.
9/ SEXY: Making out with a hot guy. Oh my god, I'm drooling as I'm typing this. LOL. I love making out with cute boys.
SKANKY: Making out with a girl (even though you're completely straight) because other people are watching, assuming they'll think you're cool.
10/ SEXY: Doing Your Boyfriend ;)
SKANKY: Doing Drugs.
11/ SEXY: Getting a fake tattoo.
SKANKY: Getting a real tattoo, especially one with a guy's name on it. Haha, more than 90% of attempted relationships don't work out so good luck. If you have the money to get a tattoo now be sure you have enough cash for laser removal later.
12/ SEXY: Wearing fake fur and fake diamonds. I love animals too much to be wearing real fur and I wear cubic zirconias a lot of the time too. Unless it's a wedding ring, no one cares if your diamonds are real, or fake, trust me!
SKANKY: Carrying fake designer handbags. Like I've mentioned in my other blog about counterfeit luxury items, those LV bags with logos upside down aren't hot and even if you can fool other people, you still can't fool yourself.
13/ SEXY: Admiring a celebrity. It's perfectly normal to look up their bio online, search for their pictures, reading tabloid about them on Star or People magazines, listening to their music, buying their CD's, watching their shows or even buying their perfumes, etc…
SKANKY: Cloning yourself after a celebrity. It's one thing to admire Paris Hilton but it's another to be bleaching your hair into platinum blonde, getting a fake orange tan, carrying a little dog in a huge pink tote and saying "That's Hot" 20 times a day. I adore Angelina Jolie but I'll never go get her tattoo or have lip injections to make my mouth look like hers. It's just funny to see so many girls trying to model themselves after celebrities. Like when The Newly Weds was a hot show, I saw a bunch of girls purposely act all ditzy like Jessica Simpson, some girls even tried to copy Jessica's burpings, thinking that it's cute, I'm not kidding! When it comes to cloning a celebrity, there's nothing more pathetic than getting a ton of plastic surgeries to try and look like their twin. Even in Hollywood, we'd see celebrities trying to clone themselves after another celebrity, Anna Nicole Smith idolizing and wanting to be like Marilyn Monroe is just a mere example. I'll never understand why some women would want to be someone else, rather than having their own look and style. They obviously don't love themselves enough so that's definitely NOT sexy!
14/ SEXY: Appearing on popular reality TV shows like The Apprentice, Survivor, America's Next Top Model, etc…. and oh please, if you're going to be on a dating show, at least try to get on The Bachelor because they actually do a background check and STD's testing on everyone who are admitted to be on the show.
SKANKY: Going on those cheap and extremely uneducated reality dating TV shows such as: Next, Date My Mom, the Flav of Love, Elimidate and etc… I know a few people who have gone on these shows then end up deeply regretting it afterwards not only because they barely got paid anything but were also bossed around, being told what to do, how to act, and worst of all, getting edited to be turned into some dumb, ghetto puppets.
15/ SEXY: Stealing another girl's boyfriend (especially if she's your enemy or a b*tch).
SKANKY: Stealing one of your friend's boyfriends, exes or crushes. I might be a Temptress but I HAVE NEVER ever touched, tempted or even flirted with any of my friend's guys so I WILL NOT TOLERATE any B*tch who won't respect this rule of the game. This is the SKANKIEST of all crimes!
So if you happen to fall into the skanky categories a few times, don't worry, none of us are saints and everyone had probably been guilty of being skanky at one time, or another. In the end, being SEXY is all about doing what you love with confidence and not worrying about what others might think. Now you know one of the temptress' best kept secrets ;)

A Star in Your World
Current mood: sore
This is for all those people out there who are too scared to say how they feel because they think the other person doesn't feel the same way. In life you should be content that you feel something for someone else and if they don't feel the same way then be happy that in your heart you felt something for them. Say how you feel today because tomorrow might never come.

A STAR IN YOUR WORLD
I sit at my window Every evening And watch the stars appear One by one They try to outshine the rest They grow with such triumph And not a glimpse of fear Oh how I long to be a star, A star in your world.
When daylight comes I live my life in a very discreet manner Just like those stars Which are still right there Which you don't see Or bother to care Oh how I long to be a star, A star in your world
One day I will shine Yet you still won't be mine You will never believe How much you have come to mean so much to me And all I ask is one thing One moment in time One moment to make you mine A moment to be a star A star in your world...

MY FAVORITES!!! (Revised 10/4/07)
Current mood: pissed off
MY FAVORITES!!!
1/ FAVORITE COLOR: I Love all Colors except for Black, it's just too dark, plain, boring and serious. Not to brag or anything but I'm one of those few that can look amazing in any color. Lately, I've been trying not to buy or wear too much white and pink because I have a lot of clothes in these 2 colors. Oh, my favorite color on guys would have to be white. Favorite car color: silver and favorite wall color (for rooms and houses and etc) is light yellow. Aside clothes, I usually choose pink for whatever stuff I buy because most of the time, those companies would donate a percentage of the sale to the national breast cancer foundation so I'd be getting the cute stuff and doing a good deed at the time ;)
2/ FAVORITE FLOWERS: Tulips, Sunflowers, Peony, Lotus, Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Cherry Blossom, Ylang Ylang. I also appreciate wild flowers because they help make those ugly fields and boring freeways look better. I'm not one of those girls who would go krazy over roses. If you ever plan to get me a bouquet, please choose either pink or yellow. I hate red roses, they're everywhere!
3/ FAVORITE SPORTS: I'll never be one of those girls who pretend to love football, baseball and basketball just to please her boyfriend or impress more guys. Honestly, I find pretty much all sports annoying. The only thing that I would watch would be World Cup Soccer because when I was a little girl (7 or 8) my dad used to watch it all the time and I would stay up to watch with him so that became one of my most treasured childhood memories, therefore, I actually enjoy watching World Cup Soccer, plus a lot of those soccer players are actually hot, lol. Most people don't know this but the only sports I like playing is Hockey: I'm extremely good when it comes to playing with sticks; I also love swimming! And of course, tempting guys is what I'm best at, it's like a sport to me, I keep getting better.
4/ FAVORITE DRINKS: People who know me know that I don't drink any alcohol. I love purified water and I do drink 8 glasses a day! I drink coffee or Pepsi occasionally, like when I have midterms and finals. Thank God, I'm not a caffeine addict. Everyone out there loves Jamba Juice but I prefer Orange Julius and my favorite drink from there is Strawberry Xtreme with Energy nutrifier (yum yum). I don't drink orange juice unless I get sick or have a sore throat and for some weird, odd reason, I always ask for iced orange juice when I'm on the plane. Luckily, I'm not lactose intolerant, I love Horizon Organic whole milk. Even though, I'm not big fan of tea, I must say Aveda's Comforting Tea is the best tea in the world! And if you want to have a taste of paradise, you got to try Godiva's milk chocolate caramel chocolixir.
5/ FAVORITE CLUBS: Area, Privilege, Mood, Les Deux (Socal), and Tao (Vegas)
6/ FAVORITE DAY OF THE WEEK: Friday (for a hot date), Saturday (for girls' night out) and sometimes I go clubbing on a weekday (did I already mention that I love Area?)
7/ FAVORITE MONTH: December (Duh, That's when my Birthday is and it's the shopping month, right!?!)
8/ FAVORITE HOLIDAY: Halloween of course, the only day of the year when I can act out all of my naughty fantasies, or dress like a total slut and none of those ugly jealous bitches can say anything about it =P
9/ FAVORITE SEASON: Autumn. Golden leaves are so pretty and getting wet in the rain can be a lot of fun. Autumn is such a beautiful and romantic season, I normally feel more soft-hearted around this time, so if you want to get me to fall in love with you, try doing that in Fall. I don't like stupid Summer flings.
10/ FAVORITE PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: Eyes, Lips, Shoulders, Bust, Arms (I love my Upper Body in General, It's Feminine!) Oh and if you haven't heard my voice, you're totally missing out because I sound so Sweet & Sexy......yeah.
11/ FAVORITE MAGAZINES: Allure, Cosmopolitan, In Style, Lucky, Self, Marie Claire, Glamour (yeah, pretty much all those women's fashion magazines), Psychology Today, and Seventeen, Cosmo Girls. Teen Vogue (teens' magazines too!) and Star, US Weekly (yah know, tabloids are fun, hehe)
12/ FAVORITE CLOTHING STYLE: Sexy & Elegant, the Glamorous Look. I Love being over dressed. I'd show up at some event in a ball gown when everybody else's wearing jeans and I'd be like "YES! I did it again!" LOL. Guys' Fashion? Hmm... I'd like for all my boy toys and my boyfriends to look preppy, as well as presentable. I refuse to be seen with any guy that looks like my pet, so please wear clothes that do fit and that are clean because Kevin Federline Couture just won't work with me.
13/ FAVORITE SHOPS: Sephora, Nordstrom, Kitson, Bath & Body Works, William-Sonoma, Victoria's Secrets, Sanrio, Borders, Target, Illuminations, Bloomingdale, Saks Fifth Avenue, Whole Foods, Amazon, eBay (where I can buy vibrators in discreet, lol, jk), Best Buy (I love electronic gadgets)
14/ FAVORITE BRAND NAMES: When it comes to handbags, I love Chanel, Louis Vuitton (LV is so common but I can't help being in love with it), Christian Dior, Longchamp, Marc Jacobs. I'm also in love with those leather bags from HOBO International because they're so light, easy to carry, durable and affordable. TOD'S leather bags are great for work because you can put so much stuff in there. I have a pink luggage set from Heys and I absolutely love it. The wheels are easy to manage and the glossy exterior finish is very modern and space-like. I like Chanel, Tom Ford and Emilio Pucci sunglasses because I found their frames to be perfect matches for my face shape, they're also light and extremely comfortable. For jewelry, I am obsessed with Tarina Tarantino Hello Kitty (because I'm the biggest Hello Kitty fan) and Juicy Couture jewelry (so cute and girly). I'm actually NOT High-maintenance when it comes to clothing and shoes. Why not? Because clothes go out of style so quickly and they're not going to last forever. Shoes are even weirder because some of the most expensive pairs out there can be the most annoying and painful to wear, yet sometimes the cheaper ones can be a lot more comfortable and durable so I always choose shoes based on style and comfort.
