LA Shows

At the show tonight in Hermosa Beach and on Monday 10th at The Hotel Cafe, Tom will go on at 8pm... so be sure to get to the venues early, especially the Cafe, where tables fill up quickly. As well as Steve Reynold's performance...Joel Shearer's band Pedestrian will close out the night on Monday, so all in all it should be a special show and a great return to The Hotel Cafe for Tom. Get tickets for the cafe show here...https://www. hotelcafe. com/tickets/

See You There.

Live Album Available

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Finally, Tom's live album recorded on last year's European Tour is available to buy direct from his website - who am I kidding, writing this in the third person - I was just trying to look professional.
Anyway, it's there on Tom's Store.... we got Johnny, my extraordinary sound guy, to record it at certain selected shows, and after much listening and some mixing, these are the songs I picked. It features some old songs, and one previously unreleased one... some crowd noise, glasses being smashed, and me wittering on about something or other. But all in all I think it's an honest souvenir of the tour, featuring the amazing musical skills of Oli Kraus and Olli Cunningham. In buying this cd (which I will place in an envelope and seal with my own spit - actually that's not true, we bulk buy our spit from China) you are directly contributing to me being able to continue touring and recording. So thank you in advance. Or if you've always hated me, now is your chance to prove it by doing absolutely nothing.
See, I've even made that easy for you!

I'm also about to embark on a short US tour, for dates see here:Tom's Tour

Keep up to speed with other details by signing up to the site mailing list, and drop by McRaetheismfor endless rubbish about nothing in particular.

Thanks, Tom.

Trying to come home
Category: Travel and Places

egypt
Dear All, arrived in Egypt, posed for picture in front of a piece of Toblerone discarded by some previous race of giants, went on brief cruise up the Nile and ended up trading my girlfriend for a camel. Light. Do I regret it? Yes, but it's time to head home and get back to my job, if they'll let me back in the office. Apparently Tom's off on his travels soon, and at least one of us needs to man the phones.

Mr Site

P.S. I'm bringing back some cursed ancient artifacts I brought cheaply at a bazaar. If you don't have albums 1-4, I now have several for sale.

Return to Oz
Category: Travel and Places

uluru
Dear All, Finally made it to Uluru... where better to celebrate Team GB's total trashing of Australia in the Olympics? Although I really tried to summon up national pride, I just can't get behind something so ridiculous as "Team GB". But the fireworks were nice, and I suppose we'll manage a sparkler for London in 2012. I remember Tom being asked to write the Olympic Song for Norway once, many years ago, but he thought they deserved something uplifting and cheerful, I believe 8 years later he's still working on it. Before long I'll be heading back, Tom will be anxious to have me back in place for his upcoming shows, and as a means of keeping people interested as he struggles to remember the songs that disappeared on that stolen laptop. But if you can't remember them they probably weren't any good, eh Tom? Maybe you could write a song of commiseration for Australia....poor old Oz, we're sorry you lozd...you'll be counting the cozt.. you're not what you woz...see? this songwriting lark is a piece of piss. Any old website can do it. Even MySpace. Hahahahahaha.Sorry, that's an in joke between us websites. Hope your summer is ending gloriously, and you're sharpening your pencils (or flick knives) for the return to school. I'll be back in place by then. Won't I? Technical people?

Remember... it's better to travel in hope than to arrive in Greenock.

Yours, Mr Site
(Complaints from the good people of Greenock should be sent to the usual address)

Mother India
Category: Music

taj mahal

Dear All, romance is definitely in the air for this old website, so where better to go than the Taj Mahal, there is no bigger declaration of undying love than building a beautiful monument for someone. Although making a cup of tea is also a nice gesture. And could happen more often round here if you ask me. I phoned Tom to tell him I'd be back before long, and not to worry about me - but I think I spoke to one of his many servants or the butler, so I'm not sure the message got through. Maybe he was in the garden, building me a monument to show how much he loves and misses me. Or maybe in the pub. Anyway, off somewhere different now.... for some adventure.

Wish you were here.

Mr. Site

Website on Holiday

Some of you may be wondering what on earth happened to the official Tom McRae website. We were wondering ourselves. Recently we have received pictures that go some way towards explaining the mystery.
Photobucket
Along with this picture was the following message:

Dear Tom and Supporters, after 8 long years of internet imprisonment, I have decided to take a vacation. I receieve emails and forum posts from all round the world, so I thought I'd see for myself what this "outside" world looks like. And let me say this, Paris is beautiful. This is me near a big tower, made from metal, and braun. I met a lovely young girl band website, and we're considering travelling further afield, so forgive me if I'm not in my usual place for a few more days. I'm sure you'll understand. I'll bring you back something nice made of leather, or a bottle of Ouzo. Best wishes, your website.

P.S. Can you feed the fish.

So, finally we know what's happened. And there I was thinking it was just someone inept at some web hosting place. This is much more romantic. I wonder where Mr.Site will go next?
